TOHO 35 Cocktail lounge & Restaurant in Cherwell

On my holiday trip from Germany to England the restaurant Toho 35 was recommended to me and I was very surprised how high quality and tasty the food was, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the decor of the restaurant was very nice and fit a great service I had already gone out to eat 3 times, the prices of the dishes were not expensive and suitable for the high quality. I was able to have a great conversation with the chef of the restaurant during my last stay. Before I drove to Germany in my Opel corsa I can recommend the restaurant to everyone and will eat there again on my next holiday in Bicester. Best regards from Germany

Excellent food. One of the best Chinese restaurants we have been to. Preparation was a not the same as a standard restaurant. A little pricy.

This should be minus one rating. Awful service, food, over priced and dirty. Arrived on Mother’s Day evening, booked but was told we had two hour slot. Hardly anyone in restaurant. Kept waiting for over an hour to be served. Ended up walking out after awful first course. Don’t bother going! Awful!!!!! Visit Grand Village Imperial, far better food, service and good value.

Don’t visit this one. Poor poor food, and the service worse. Walked out after waiting too long. Really expensive. Will not be returning to this restaurant that’s for sure

This should be a minus star. This is an awful restaurant, overpriced and dreadful service. Ended up walking out after the starter. Kept waiting for at least an hour before we were served. Dirty and loud music. Don’t bother going, worst Chinese restaurant in Oxfordshire. Back to Grand Village Imperial in Bicester Shopping Park who know how to run a good restaurant with good service.

Beautifully fitted out dining areas creating a warm, smart and welcoming ambiance. The food is outstandingly good and good value. My wife and I shared a quarter aromatic duck (three well filled pancakes each.) As a main course I had sizzling fillet steak with noodles and broccoli while my wife enjoyed a fillet of Dover Sole which she said was exquisite. We shared a very drinkable Sauvignon Blanc. Service was welcoming , friendly and efficient throughout. All in all a top grade experience. We will certainly be returning soon!

We got there at 7:50 and only got our main dishes by 9ish.. they forgot about my drink, they forgot the bottle of water I asked for and honestly the food was ok but not worth £80 so I won't be going back. Friendly staff though.

Walked out after being spoken to really disrespectfully when asking how long our food would be after an hour and a half of waiting. Really loud, dingy and dirty environment with very drunk clientele. Rough, really rough. Proof an expensive menu in no way reflects the establishment. Have never been before and would never go again. Without a shadow of a doubt the worst place I have EVER been to. You feel like you need a hot shower after going there. You have been warned.

This review is for a takeaway. The food was excellently packed in the eco friendly packaging and had remained hot in the20 minute journey. The quality was good, well exceeding the quality of a normal Chinese . The big disappointment was the standard of the duck (duck wrap) which was dry and overcooked. For many, this would be a signature dish and i would advise anyway having a takeaway of duck wrap to check it before departure.

After visiting Bicester village, we came upon Toho 35, what a lovely meal we had! I do feel the mixed hors d’oeuvres need more than sweet chilli sauce, but that would be my only complaint! I had a cosmopolitan cocktail, @£7.50 on the menu but when the bill arrived it was an actually £8.50 so maybe check that your bill is correct! We actually overlooked this as the food was so good!

This is the best Chinese food I have ever had anywhere.!! We feel very lucky to have such a great restaurant in Bicester and hope that it’s here to stay.!

Amazing food, staff are very friendly and welcoming. Great service however, we waiting for quite a while to get someone's attention to pay the bill. My only slight criticism would be the music being to loud. Other than that, fantastic Chinese food.

The best Chinese food in Oxfordshire. We have tried several other Chinese restaurants in the area and none come even close to Toho 35. The staff are also friendly and the owner is always present and makes a point of speaking to all the customers that eat there. Highly recommend a visit

Really surprised by this place. I live in a big city and usually places in smaller towns are a bit of a letdown. However, this place was amazing! I'm definitely going to return. I had the Mongolian lamb belly.. It was lovely. The service was amazing also.

Amazing restaurant, me and my wife had a lovely experience. Never expected in a small town of Bicester we found such original taste of Cantonese cuisine We had steamed garlic glass noodle prawns Everything was hot and fresh. Taste was bang on

Our friends from Towcester said you have to drive out and try this place as it is well worth the short hop. Attended by a lovely waiter . The Pinot was very good . Starters and main meals were all shared and all hit the spot . A visceral delight and we will be back soon .

Brilliant food, well designed and classy venue and the Chinese waiter was a delight - oh and the cocktails are great too !! A great venue for couples and large get togethers with friends and family - lots of cosy alcoves and areas suitable to larger groups. The Japanese Katsu Curry and Mongolian Beef dishes we ordered were delicious and generous - unless you have not eaten for a week you may struggle to eat a starter as well. We washed down our meal with Amaretto Sour cocktails - delicious !! Also great for snacks and cocktails before visiting the cinema - park by cinema multi-storey for free if you are going to see a film.

Never knew there is a gem of a restaurant in Bicester. I ordered the crispy calamari, it was so moreish I could have eaten another portion. I noticed that Toho 35 do a lot of seafood, must give them a try next time. My friend tried the sticky pork ribs, and he enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed my calamari. Paul, the head waiter, recommended the sizzling beef fillet in black peppercorn sauce for my main. It was one of the best I have tasted in a very long while. My friend went off the beaten track and tried the Song Su seabass, which he enjoyed so much he said he will never have his seabass steamed again. The foods were nicely presented and the seasoning and taste were spot on. The main surprise is, for such a classy restaurant and top class service, the prices were so reasonable. Thank you Paul and your team for such a pleasant evening. Can't wait until we're in the area again.

We came to celebrate a friends birthday and the staff looked after us so well. Catering for vegans, gluten free and vegetarians in our party with no trouble and taking extra care of the birthday boy. The food was delicious, drinks were fabulous and everyone had the loveliest evening. If you’re looking for cocktails or great food Toho is perfect. It would be ideal as a romantic date but also has spaces perfect for more social dinners. 1000% recommend!

My wife and I were in the area and we rang up at the last minute to make a reservation. They were very accommodating. The food was lovely. The staff and the ambiance was great. We will definitely go there again on our next visit to the town.

Love the food here. High end Chinese food and nice decor. However it's now coming up to 9 months where we still can't use the card machine and can only pay cash!! I realize that they have to keep the business alive but this is starting to take the mickey! They really need to sort this out until then will be very reluctant to bring people to eat there. Hence low rating.

Very good if you're looking for some good Chinese food. The ambience in the restaurant is pretty relaxed with some music but isn't too loud, we could still have a conversation. The food is very good and so was the service, felt we were looked after pretty well and it seemed like the norm. The only negative is I feel it is a little to expensive for where it is. I might expect these prices in Oxford or London, but certainly not in Bicester.

Great restaurant. The staff were really friendly and the food was nice. The prices were reasonable so I splashed out and had every mocktail. They were all nice so I got some alcoholic ones as well and they were just as good. I went in the evening so there was loads of parking. The decor inside is also really snazzy so your social media pictures will look 👌🏿 Definitely the best restaurant around for miles.

I visited just before Christmas after recommendations from friends. The venue is lovely, and at first we received great service. The mixed starter was quite nice, but the 2 beef mains we ordered were just not good enough. The flavours, delicious but the beef was so chewy it was not enjoyable at all and we left most of it. The staff didn't seem to handle the criticism very well. I then asked for some tap water, to be told that they don't do that. Little did I know, this is actually a legal requirement! Considering the price you expect top quality, and unfortunately this restaurant just does not deliver.

The best & authentic chinese in Bicester

Visited Toho 35 last night, midly disappointed. The vibe inside is fantastic, more of a bar feel with mood lighting and music. Although we didn't have cocktails these looked amazing. The food itself was uninspiring average we loved the salt and pepper items on the menu, excellent flavours. The chicken and starters were average. We also ordered the Grandma's Tofu, this one is a definite avoid! Overpowered by a flavour I couldn't identify and left a horrible tingling sensation in the mouth. Unfortunately we couldn't eat it. The service was excellent, staff very attentive. Overall we felt it was an average food experience which was very much overpriced.

We were welcomed gratefully, good fast service and friendly staff offering their services appropriately and often. We were asked if we wanted song requests, and the cocktails were amazing! Would recommend.

Proper competition for the Grand Imperial for best Chinese in the town and from my experiences the best Chinese I've ever had. Toho is much more of a 'date night'/ destination restaurant and bar compared to the grabd imperial, plus its in town so you can walk to other pubs/bars if you're making a night of it. Very smartly decorated inside, staff attentive but not over bearing and food was excellent (the ribs were superb in the mixed starter). The only negative is it is quite expensive but it is a case of getting what you pay for. Thoroughly recommend and we will return, especially for a special occasion

The manager is very friendly and funny too. He makes sure that everything is fine and cracks some good jokes.

If you are unlucky enough to meet the owner you will likely have a very unpleasant experience. He was very rude and sarcastic towards us. Unfortunately he spoilt the dining experience. Food was ok, nothing amazing. Me and my friends will certainly not be returning!

Amazing food and a really good variety including vegetarian options. The cocktail menu has all the classics and some other great sounding cocktails. The drinks we did have were delicious and i can't wait to try more. Service was super friendly and pretty fast which was nice! Overall would highly recommend!!

Very very rude owner. Upset my 8 year old. Had to wait very long for the food. And after the long wait they were making us rush . The portion size very small as per the cost of food. Even the food did not taste good. Over all very bad experience. Never going back.

My char sui honey roast pork was ok, but my friends really enjoyed their beef in black bean sauce & crispy shredded beef in noodle nest. The services wasn't great only received drinks when have way through main course didn't have starters but received someone else's - sent them back, looked good was tempted.

The food was delicious...not cheap but absolutely beautifully prepared !! The starter selection for five was a meal in itself and the lemon chicken, Szechuan aubergines ,sweet and sour chicken and beef filet hit the spot every time!

Great service and exceptional Chinese food. Never under delivers - the clay pot beef sirloin is a must try.
