Very bland, tasteless this time. Fried rice came as boiled rice. I've spent quiet abit of money there over the years and this was the worst. I hope the next online delivery order is better.

unfortunately my regular chineese takeaway was closed for holiday and refurbishment min kee warwick, a lot could be learnt from this establishment going since 1972! well the chips were tastless dried up sticks of potatoe the crispy (pancake rolls) were no better than 6 party frozen rolls from tesco rubbish and the spare ribbs did not even look cooked in there dishwater sauce which i paid for an additional portion £2.60 container wasnt even half full. didnt even reach my plate chucked the lot back in its bag ready for the bin. i would never use this take away again total waste of £18 expensive too!

We had a takeaway - perhaps one of the best we have ever had! We are real foodies and love fresh, well balanced and sophisticated food. We also cook our own Chinese. This was stunning.. and for the price exceptional. Hugely recommended and having just moved into the area from Oxford very surprised to experience delivered food so good. If you want your traditional msg Chinese, don’t choose this, but if you want something natural, tasty and home cooked, go for it！

Simply the best chinese in town - always fresh & you know what meat your eating 😋 my grandchildrens chinese of choice. Bit more expensive than others but worth EVERY penny.

The food is great quality and good value for money. Tastes fresh and natural flavouring, good ratio of ingredients in each meal. Great to see vegan options on there too! Collection times are accurate (20-25min). Delivery times are now less than quoted from my experience (20mins vs 45-60mins quoted). Friendly staff. The account credit is a nice perk. I can now say it’s the best ‘Chinese’ in banbury i’ve had. Improved website navigation since my last review, and significantly reduced delivery times. Up-rated from 4 to 5 stars. Well done, keep it up!

Pawpaw is our go to. They are all so kind and helpful, the app is so useful and the points system is so well thought through. James and the team are always so efficient and patient too. The food is top tier. The best in Banbury and we order it whenever we have guests round and they are always so impressed. I highly highly recommend ordering. We personally love the satay sauce - it’s to die for 🤍

Slurpolicious food 😋! I nearly always have the special friend rice. They give good sized portions so there's normally some left for lunch the next day 😃👏👏. Lovely people. If you ask for your food to be ready at 6pm you can then park in the drop off zone by the salvation army shop for free and walk across to the bus station to Paw Paw 👍

We were treated to a takeaway from Pawpaw this evening. The food was delicious (no MSG) but I’ve deducted one star as delivery took 1½ hours.

Food was not worth the money! Chips were dry, chicken balls were chewy! And very expensive!

Shocking take away delivered from this place on 15 Sept. Food ordered at 6.30pm, arrived at 7.20pm and one of the dishes was incorrect. Called to report and was assured they would re-deliver the correct one immediately, it arrived 45 minutes later. My wife had to eat hers while it was hit and I had to microwave mine later and of course it's not the same and not what I expected. Complained to the business and was offered a £5 voucher as compensation. Their argument was that they did not make a mistake on purpose, they had to pay the delivery driver twice and I had the 'benefit' of an additional dish that they delivered incorrectly and didn't ask for it back. I chucked it in the bin anyway. Added to all of this the food was dreadful, chewy ribs, chewy overcooked sweet & sour chicken and lemon chicken just awful when microwaved. Mistakes happen but the attitude suggesting that their issues like paying for 2 deliveries and giving me a dish I didn't want being played back as a benefit to me are not good enough. Need to be so much better with their attitude and lost me as a customer who has ordered for the last 3 weeks

Sorry but 2 peas, 1 shrimp and a shaving or carrot doesn’t turn plain rice “special”. Bland. Small portions. They must’ve been having a bad day, horrible meal. Bland as Gandhi’s flip fop, absolutely dry, it was a struggle to get down. If only I found a hair in it I could give it 1 stars.

Pawpaw is our regular takeaway treat and never disappoints. Their online ordering is quick and simple and remembers your last order, which is handy if you're a creature of habit. Staff are always friendly. I collect so can't comment on delivery service but the food is always ready on time, professionally presented, generous portions, piping hot, super tasty and keeps us coming back for more. Crispy duck is a particular family favourite but order an extra portion of pancakes so none of the duck goes to waste.

I usually enjoy their food hence I mostly order from them, but on the last order everything else was good but I felt like my meal was not cooked well or long enough it smelt very fish that I could not eat it. That being said, their food is good.

Thankyou for such a lovely takeaway and delivery last night Thursday, whoever was cooking knew what they were doing, it tasted so good and fresh, I is the best takeaway meal we've had in Banbury. Had our first meal from Paw Paw tonight for sons birthday. Fantastic food, no horrible after taste and all freshly prepared and cooked. Was delivered piping hot. Will definitely be using again for takeaways, husband very impressed and he's a fussy eater.

Ordered for the first time tonight from Paw Paw, and it was absolutely delicious! NOT your usual Chinese takeaway that is overly sweet and everything tastes the same. Everything I ordered was tasty and completely different even though it was mainly duck dishes! The food arrived piping hot and fresh, everything was cooked really nicely, I ordered the Basil Garlic and Chilli Duck, asked for some specifics and they made it exactly as I asked. Really pleased with it all and definitely would recommend!

Another top takeaway, the food is fresh, and cooked well.we live 10 miles away, but everything is still hot when we get it home, well worth the drive for excellent food. The staff are always polite and pleasant. Just an all round good experience. 100% recommend. Thank you team Pawpaw

In London where I used to live we had a vast range of high quality eateries to choose from. Truth is, and perhaps misguidedly so, I didn't expect to find one near our new home near Banbury. But my oh my, the food we ordered as a takeway from Paw Paw exceeded all expectations. Nothing gloopy here – just simple, home-style cooking using really fresh ingredients. My crispy beef with chilli was delicious and the al dente broccoli was scrumptious. Paw Paw is my new go-to Chinese takeaway. Next time I shall dip into some of their Thai dishes. Highly recommended for those looking for good quality East Asian food.

Had the 'Bamboo meal deal' on Friday - great food and very well presented. Favourites were the Crispy Duck and Chilli Chicken!

Visiting Banbury just when lockdown number 2 has started, we are from Essex. This chinese is fantastic so fresh not as greasy as a normal chinese. We would of loved to of eaten in the restaurant paw paw but the takeaway was just as lovely. I would highly recommend

First order from Paw Paw Banbury - definitely will be back. Takeaway ready at the specified time , expertly presented for collection and really good value for money. Portion size is very good, particularly on the 1/4 duck pancakes where you would normally scrabble around for meat. Look forward to the day we can dine in!

We ordered food from Paw paw Banbury and was told it would be delivered at 8.00pm after we placed the order at 6.30 and paid. The food turned up at 8.25 pm and we tried to chase the order but the telephone line was unavailable Please do not order from Here and they charged £4.00 for delivery Food not great too Not happy

Food was full of flavour and freshly cooked. Service was prompt and friendly. Strongly recommend this to anyone who wants a good meal out.

We regularly enjoy take aways from Paw Paw. The food has always been excellent. So we are not sure what went wrong with last nights take away. We all had a different meal, but all meals were very salty. The Curry was surprisingly even more salty than spicy. Seasoning can be down to individual taste, but this was off the scale. Best to use less, it can always be added at home if needed. Not sure if this was a new chef or a trainee in the kitchen, but it spoilt our dining experience and we felt the need to drink copious amounts of water last night. Hopefully a one if experience.

The restaurant is spacious and easily accommodates a number of medium and large groups. The decor is good and the atmosphere is great. We chose a selection of starters and mains and all really really enjoyed every single bite. Portion sizes were generous and nobody left hungry.We were especially impressed with the Pad Thai. I had the beef and my wife had the chicken. Superb!! Probably the most authentic Pad Thai I have tasted in the U.K. I would highly recommend it!! There is something for everyone to eat. One in our family is a fussy eater and She left saying “Wow that was actually nice food”

Scrumptious food, wonderful service, attractive surroundings; what more can you ask for? Visited from Thame, before we went to hear Alan Johnson at Mill Theatre. Just randomly went in as near theatre and we were delighted. Wish it was nearer!

We have been getting take away's from here for a while but the quality of the food has dropped significantly to the extent that we have now stopped going here. They have replaced much of the meat that used to come in the dishes with lots of almost raw vegetables. Large chunks of green pepper and onion comes with every dish we ordered. Tuesday was the final straw. We rang and placed an order and my partner asked if we could have less vegetables in the dishes as we had noticed that there were more and more recently. We were told by the manager, who was quite put out with the feedback, that there weren't any changes to the food. We rang an hour and a half early and were told it would be with us in 40 minutes. We asked to book our delivery for 7pm which we were told would be fine. We got a phone call at 6:57pm and said that it would be here by 7:15pm. At 7:23pm the driver arrived and we sent the food back. As a restaurant owner who's customers make or break your business i would have thought that giving him some valuable feedback and the opportunity to change things before he lost another customer would have been gratefully received. As it wasn't important to him to get our order to us on time he showed us that we clearly weren't important customers. As you will see from several other reviews recently we are not the only ones and also from the Managers comments on the reviews he is clearly clueless when it comes to customer service!!

First time I have used Paw Paw, on a friend's recommendation. Ordered a couple of extra dishes to get an idea of the quality. It was great. We enjoyed the lot. The service was excellent (James). This is without doubt our go to Chinese takeaway from now on. Will also look forward to trying the restaurant.

From the look of the town/city centre it would put you off eating anywhere nearby. The front door was closed we went in and shown to a table. The waitress came across quick enough. Food was reasonable. Wife thought the crispy duck was a bit fatty, I thought it was alright. Overall the food was nice nothing special.

We have been using Paw Paw for many years for takeaways and mainly been happy with the food. Having not had a takeaway for a while we ordered one a few weeks ago and it really was not very nice at all. We ordered all our usuals and ended up leaving most of it. The flavours were completely different, with those dishes where there was usually a sauce like chicken in black bean sauce there was barely any sauce hence meal was quite dry, and full with so much almost raw carrot and pepper. Thinking this must have been a one off we ordered a takeaway last night and again were disappointed and left a lot of food. We have been very good customers over probably 15 years and the staff knew us but don’t recognise anyone there now and I believe it’s under new management. My husband did give our comments when we collected our takeaway and the reply was - ‘So you decided to give us one more chance’. Sadly we will not be trying again and will have to look elsewhere for takeaways. I see from previous reviews the management replies are not very friendly to those who make poor comments and this is what tripadvisor is for. Unless they are able to take the bad comments on board and listen to the poor reviews and try to improve, Paw Paw will lose further faithful customers. Such a shame but definitely would not recommend any more.

After hearing good things about this restaurant and being a big fan of Chinese food I was quite looking forward to going. However, the experience did not quite live up to expectations. I had to order my drink twice before it arrived a good ten minutes later as it was impossible to get the servers attention again. I wasn't particularly hungry so didn't order a starter as nothing grabbed my fancy but was pleased once I saw everyone else's starter which was half a plate of parsley and carrot next to proper food. When my main course, stir fried mushrooms, it was completely raw. Barely warm the mushrooms still had the inside texture of being solid. It was taken away and recooked fully but was nothing incredible. Will certainly not be returning.

Faultless. Picked up delivery at time agreed. Food all very tasty and perfectly seasoned. 'Crispy Duck' was the best I have ever had outside China. Moist and succulent (all too often it is 'cremated' in the UK!). Salt/Pepper Squid amazing too. The Lemon Chicken was served with sauce separate - perfect - and not the sickly sweet one you generally get, but a truly citrus lemony flavour. Totally recommend without any reservation; you won't be disappointed.

We went to the Paw Paw restaurant on Monday 8th April. It is situated right by the side of Banbury bus station, so that avoided us getting soaking wet a second time that day.

We have been regular customers at Paw Paw for years but now it’s under new management - or should I say mismanagement! My wife took me there tonight for my birthday. We watched 3 other tables walk out but thought ‘It can’t really be that bad can it?’ Finally we too walked out. Cold food, non existent service or very, very, very slow; take your pick, that’s why we all left. They have not got a clue how to run a restaurant, avoid.

Collected takeaway, food was amazing, not that horrible feeling you can get after Chinese takeaways. Everything seemed fresh. Definitely will return.

Ate here for the first time this evening since living in the area. Was really disappointed with the atmosphere- in that it didn’t appear to have one! The food was average, and the beef in the black bean sauce was too thick and chewy for our liking. Was quite surprised that prawn crackers weren’t complimentary as they are in every other restaurant/takeaway we have used. Waitresses were not very customer focused and we felt like we were more of a nuisance. I don’t think that you get value for money here at all and will not return to dine here. Each to their own though!

PawPaw is great, really fresh Chinese food at really good prices. The menu may seem more limited than other Chinese restaurants but I think that gives them a chance to make excellent dishes as opposed to mediocre ones. Service is always really quick and the staff are always very friendly. 10/10 for PawPaw

Went midweek, for an early evening meal. The wife and l shard crispy aromatic duck for our starter, followed by singapore noodles, bok choi in oyster sauce (chicken) and hot crispy chilli chicken, which was also shared. The food was excellent, service was also of a high standard. We will keep going for a meal to the Paw Paw.

Take away service was excellent, with the lady taking the order being very attentive to the details of the order, i.e food allergies and vegetarian tolerance re chicken stock in chow Mein and prawn content in satay sauce. Ordered the sweet and sour chicken (excellent), vegetable chow mein ( al dente carrots and broccoli), kung po chicken ( tasty but would prefer greater tenderness) and quorn in Satay source (nicely cooked). We also had boiled rice. Food was prepared quickly and enjoyed. The price was about £25. Would have preferred the vegetables to have been cooked for longer, but would visit again. The restaurant looked very nice.

Gourmet set menu: the starters were delicious, perfect size and very tasty. The crispy duck and pancakes were equally good. Even though we were pretty full we had a good stab at the beef and prawns and vegetable main dishes which were cooked to perfection. What we could not finish they happily made up in a takeaway parcel! Surprisingly good cappuccinos to finish off an excellent meal :). Despite the location you would not even realise once in the restaurant: decor / ambience = very nice. Room split cleverly into 3 sections creating privacy as well as a nice bar. Would definitely visit again and/or try a takeaway/delivery.

We ordered home delivery . everything from ordering to home delivery was excellent no problems at all . the young lady who delivered was lovely with a big smile had to find a tip just for her lovely smile the food was nicely package and the actual food it self was fresh and very. Tasty both myself and my guys was very impressed with our food will definitely order from them again

Myself and three friends visited this evening. We were seated promptly by really friendly staff, we were looked after very well indeed. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food and were impressed by how reasonably priced it all was when we got the bill. We will definitely be back again. The restaurant is decorated beautifully too and had a really lovely feel to it. Keep up the good work!

Always fresh and delicious food, far out weighs any other Chinese/Thai restaurants in town, we have both visited or had takeaways from. Staff are helpful and friendly and food always fresh and tasty, not stodgy like so many takeaways can be. Highly recommended.

Ordered the salt & pepper popcorn chicken along with the hot crispy chilli chicken. The popcorn chicken portion was a little small, the chicken was also very dry and chewy, although the flavour was good. The hot crispy chilli chicken came in a good portion size, but was also very dry and chewy, it was more batter than chicken, in fact the chicken taste was non-existent, the sauce was good, but not enough to help with the dry chicken. I'm sure they just take many months old frozen chicken strips and fry them, as far from fresh as you can imagine.

I've never eaten in Paw Paw's restaurant although I have collected my order from there. It is a contemporary-style restaurant.

We had a great takeaway from here. The food was lush and was very well packed. They even delivered in the snow on Thursday. Excellent it's a 10/10 from me.

Myself and a colleague went here for a meal I had green curry which was really really nice. My colleague had shredded beef. We both thouroghly enjoyed it. We would eat there again of in the area.

I ordered and collected a meal from pawpaw today and am honestly astonished by the service.

Having visited here for dinner a couple of times and takeaway once I would say the food tastes great, always fresh and piping hot. The portions are quite small I would say for the price, with other takeaways we often share a dish but I would say have 1 each here. The staff are very friendly, the restaurant is clean and well presented, staff serve you fast and clear up quick. The couple of times I’ve been here (once being a Saturday night) it has been very quiet. Only us with 1/2 other tables being used. If you’re looking for tasty Chinese food this is the place to go but if you’d like somewhere with more of an atmosphere I wouldn’t recommend.

Very pleasant waitresses but the place had no atmosphere. The six of us were the only people dining. I have never before been served chicken at any restaurant which was inedible, it was hard and extremely difficult to cut which I demonstrated to the waitress. Two of our party had the same meal and every piece of the chicken was left. We complained to the waitress who apologized with a smile.

Not the cheapest but the very best. High quality food, reliable, delivery service arrives when it says it will. Order always correct. The only Chinese takeaway to use if in the area. The restaurant itself lacks a little atmosphere, so would rather collect and take home

Booked for family dinner. Restaurant quiet for a Saturday night so we had the full attention of the staff. Ordered starters which arrived quickly and were delicious. Main plates were more than adequate although one of the chicken dishes appeared to be slightly undercooked.

I have been having take-aways and sit-downs at this restaurant for years and this is by far my worst experience. While the food was good the service was appalling. After sitting down we were ignored and I had to go and get them before we could order any drinks and some prawn crackers. We were completely ignored again and I had to ask them to come and take our order. The food then took an eon to come and my dinner didn't come with the other dishes. My rice then came but not my main dish. When I queried that, after at least 5 minutes it finally then came, no apology. I was rudely told it had only been a minute which it certainly wasn't. That will be my final visit - some birthday meal!

Food service is extremely good. I am an Asian boy and I was impressed by all the food that I had. I don't remember all dishes, some of them are: salt & pepper chips, Thai noodles, crispy aromatic duck, smoked (or salt and pepper) chicken.Everyone is friendly and pleasant, the food is delivered very fast. They also have takeaway service with 2-3 people willing to deliver their food every time.The restaurant is a fusion of Western and Asian, which also brought me good feelings.For Vietnamese tourists: " Đến Banbury thì phải ghé Paw Paw :)) )

James and his team do an excellent job. Really fresh food, friendly service nice surroundings and to be honest not expensive for the quality you get. Hust try the chilli beef - compared to the chewy microwaved I have had elsewhere this is a completely different dish!I would recommend either take away or eat in as we have done both as a family.
