Popped in recently, after having a really positive experience here.. To start with they got my order wrong. Chips weren't fresh and were reheated, curry sauce was lumpy and not mixed well. The girl behind the counter was moody and not in the least bit friendly or welcoming. They ignored everyone else over the regulars and were too busy chatting to pay attention what was being ordered. I won't be going again, which is disappointing as the first time I went they were really good.

Dry chicken also asked for no onion with the salad and pretty much salad was mostly onoin. Staff don't listen to what the customers want which in this kind of business is not a good thing

Can’t really fault this place at all. My favourite chip shop in Syston, dare I say. Curry sauce and chips are fantastic (in my personal taste). Fish is nice and hot, and there’s a good range of other sundries too. Staff seem nice enough, normally too busy to talk other than when placing an order. Tends to be busy when I stop by. Overall, I would recommend this establishment.

Friendly staff, clean. Food is good but not the greatest choice for vegetarians.

Poped in yesterday for two kebabs and sausage, nothing is too much to ask. Chicken kebab is amazing, I love the way is chargrilled plus chargrilled peppers which taste amazing each time I have food from them. Stuff are always happy to help and they always smile.

Really bad chips over cooked and oily , especially paying 3.80 . Seems like they pick and choose who gets the good chips happened 3 times now to us so I had to leave this review.

Not been in for a while. Popped in for Friday night fish and chip teatime takeaway. Chips just right, the fish was absolutely beautiful with crunchy tasty batter. Mushy peas sealed the deal. Why go anywhere else? Simply put, a good traditional chippy! Great staff who always greet you with a smile. Brilliant and thanks. See you soon.

£5.40 for large chips and curry sauce! Normally use a different chip shop and a large chips is plenty for 2 adults. Todays catch however was tiny and the chips were dreadful, soggy mush. Won’t use them again.

Normally just pop in and order but decided to order on app and then pick up !! Spot on think I will do it this way from now on.

Great chip shop! Lovely chips, fish cake was delicious, potato fritter a treat and battered sausages were done to perfection. We have visited this chip shop a number times over the last few of years and the food has always been superb.

Just lovely. The team work hard to keep the people of Syston fed with lovely fresh food. An extensive menu for a chippy. There should be something on the menu for everyone. Prices have gone up recently, but that's about the same everywhere.

Had the small cod and I must say it was the best piece of fish I have ever had and it is always the same great Quality and the staff are always kind and friendly and helpful and listen to you when you ask for something a Certain way and I would definitely recommend going here as it’s a must try the guy that owns it should be very proud of himself and his food and his staff and he has done a great job with this place

Takeaway large haddock and regular chips at 19.15. Fish was just warm and dry, chips just warm. Use this chippy weekly, and it’s hit and miss. Can have the same meal in a pub/restaurant for only £2 more and much better quality. Totally disappointed!

The food was decent but poor service and attitude from all people working there spoiled it. I wouldn't reccomend turning up within half an hour of their closing time or they'll look at you and speak to you like garbage.

Not been here for years so we thought we would try it tonight.i think this chipshop has gone down hill very stingy with the Donna meat for the price they charge and when you pay for a curry sauce you don't expect it to be half empty really was not impressed and will not be rushing to go back

Burnt and dry chicken kebab. The lad attempting to cook it was more interested in looking busy than actually paying attention. Go elsewhere.

Easy to park when arrived! "Lucky?" seen Birds, Rabbits, Goats,! Had meal deal in Cafe £4/person! First time I saw Artichokes growing before they were picked(4years ago!)

Fish was fresh and freshly cooked, chips were proper chips (not fries) and not too greasy, curry sauce was decent. They know their business, would recommend.

This chippy has always got fresh chips and fish/ pies ready. The same manager has done an excellent job for years now and the staff are very polite and friendly. What's not to like?

Not had Fish & Chips since before lockdown and normally use this chip shop in the past, however tonight was extremely disappointing, Ordered Large Fish, Chips Curry Sauce and Plain Sausage, The fish well what can i say the batter was that hard and fish dry it was a disgrace and inedible the only thing good about this order was the curry sauce very disappointed will not visit again.

Very disappointed. First fish and chips since March 23rd. Ordered large fish and normal chips. The fish was dry and unappetizing. The batter was a dark brown and hard. You could sole your shoes with it. The chips were ok. Shopped here before and it was fine. This definitely wasn't.

Hit and miss on how warm the food is more often then not it's a miss over a few visits most of the food we have had has been cold

I had a large fish and chips on Friday night they were absolutely shocking chips were that small probably from bottom of pan fish batter was rock hard hardly any proper fish a disgrace

Really disappointing. We normally have fish and chips from Mackays Fish and Chips but it was closed on a Sunday so came to Today’s catch instead. Bad decision! The fish was over cooked, so mushy inside (not flakey), and the bottom layer of batter was very tough. The staff were not friendly at all either - not welcoming in any way. Don’t waste your money here

The food is very bad, it was so bad it was binned as it had dead flys in it, we would advise people to avoid at all costs.

Just been into the shop to order some food, firstly the girl behind the till never smiled or wasn't very welcoming. Ordered my food to then say thank you and pay. As I was walking out of the shop I caught the girl in the mirror mocking me and pulling a face. To when I confronted her and said I seen what she did, she went bright red and said the reason she did that was she thought I was giving her attitude. To which I relied 'by saying thanks' she then continued to slag me off to her friend 'Erin' as I walked outside, I asked for her name and she said it was 'Gemma' ... I work in retail and never would I employ someone like that. Shocking! 29.11.17 around 8.20 you should watch your cctv back and see how ur staff are treating paying customers

I had chips and gravey today for dinner and they are the best chips and gravey I have ever had. The staff seen friendly and the place is clean. Would recommend.

Pretty poor experience all round. Firstly I was greeted with no smile. Then I ordered only to have it wrong when I paid. I ordered fish, chips, peas and curry sauce. Upon paying I found that peas were missing. When I got home I found that young girl serving me had given me peas but taken back the curry sauce. Wrong again. Then we come to tasting. The chips were ok, nothing special. The fish was dry and the batter was too greasy. At least the peas were ok. I definitely won't be returning.

Normally not a bad chip shop but just had the worst donar kebab and chips ever. Asked for a large kebab it certainly wasn't the meat was stone cold hardly any salad and the chips looked and tasted liked they had been 're heated. 2nd kebab we have tried will stick to fish and chips in future as this is clearly not the best place for kebabs

Good Chips, good fish, good sausage and good curry sauce.. its a chippy.. Thats all you need.

Asked for chips to be double fried got denied this choice, other chippies allow this why not Today's catch?

Clean, but sadly less than average quality of food. Ordered two fish and large portion of chip in the evening to take away. Although good only a regular portion was actually provided! Haddock (only type of fish avail) was tasteless and dry as a bone. I assume it had been fried much earlier in the day simply left on the shelf. Had to ask for a bag, and other than salt and vinegar no extras offered, and young male server looked as if he hated being there.

After using various "chippys" for our Xmas event over the years, one of our members suggested using "Today's Catch" for a change. It was one of the best suggestions anyone could have made. The service was second to none, they organised 40 places without any problems at all. The food was still hot when we finally served it up and everybody thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I would highly recommend anybody to use their services, like we will next year.

Best chippy in the area. Giant portions.
