Great value for money! It seems like everywhere you go these days for food they’re trying to do you over on price. The Toby Carvery here in Kings Norton has remained great value and have been consistent in their delivery. Visited here during a weekday, and the service was great! We were warmly welcomed on entry and seated. It didn’t take long for drinks to arrive and then we queued for the carvery which was not too busy. I don’t really have much criticism when it comes to the carvery as the price is reflective to what’s on offer. I would suggest bringing back some more vegetable options such as sweetcorn, which wasn’t present on my trip here. Also, the meat is on the shy side when being carved. Slightly more or thicker cut slices would have earned the 5* rating along with more draft options at the bar, which is like a trip back to the early 2000’s with the choice options. The dessert was also very nice but noticed they have reduced in size since my last visit here. Either way, it tasted nice and is still a lot cheaper than most other places these days. The service here was great, and the waitresses are on their feet constantly working hard and making sure we were happy with everything throughout. They are a real credit to the franchise.

Nice and relaxed made to feel really welcome instantly by debs and Kieron and took to the time to have a chat with us even tho was clearly busy fantastic experience and also thank you very much for accommodating partners eating criteria Food was to a decent standard bacon a little dry and eggs unfortunately wasn’t runny but that’s just person preference defo value for money will defo come again

I have been to many toby carvery i use them every day I'm a trucker but I would never go back to kings Norton the food was disgraceful the worst I've ever had

Staff were friendly, that's all the positives I have. Food was cold, eggs like jelly, coffee not drinkable neither was the tea. The bread has to go through the toaster at least 4 times to get toasted. Really was all awful. It was pretty busy too so no excuse to why the food was so cold and tasted disgusting. All 3 of us struggled to eat our food. Premiere inn breakfast is so much better and better value for money. Will never return and don't recommend anyone else going either. Im still in shock on how bad it all was.

I have recently visited this carvery on at least 2 occasions & have found some improvement in the food as of late. Unfortunately there was only one member of staff serving at the time of one visit, which made the wait for food extra long. The atmosphere was extremely loud with lots of children running about. I think it was Kids Eat For A Pound day. My one gripe was the fact that compared to a weekday the carvery on a Sunday was an extra £4-00 which I found to be quite exorbitant considering today's climate. I personally would never go to this particular carvery again on a Sunday

You have to register your car to park. If you forget, you're fined! Not cheap, either. Gammon and lamb were dry. We won't go again.

Well pleased with our visit and Sue our waitress went above and beyond to serve us. The only trouble that we had with the carvery was it seemed to go cold quick. I don’t think the gravy was as hot as it could have been.

Just finished my day shift at Queen Elizabeth Hospital when 2 lads from Toby Carvery came and delivered 38 meals to the hospital staff for free! Thank you for being so kind! We all appreciate it 🙏 🙌 💯

Been to this carvery many times never had an issue, first time visited on a Sunday yesterday with my daughter's and weren't happy at all. On top of being charged extra as it's a Sunday my daughter had the beef and it was as dry as anything and her Yorkshire was overdone too all she ate was a handful of Mac n cheese, when I complained about about the meat was told I can pay for a veggie plate which was fine but when I went online on the way home there was only a 50p difference and I was charged £6.49, wasn't given my receipt or asked if I had the app to scan ended up buying her a Greggs after we had left. Not happy at all with the service. After seeing the response I am very disappointed that this is all you have to say, after I had spent almost £50 for the 3 of us to have our Sunday roast, only for my daughter's tohave not enjoyed themselves or their meal. That is a waste of money I will not be returning here and will be passing this on to my friends and family who normally go to this carvery!!

Been here for the last 3 christmas day dinners with my family, alway gave a great review, but sorry this christmas day was a massive let down & let's face it its not cheap! The starter and the deserts were not even 1 one out of 10 very let down, but on the uo side the staff were amazing and the carvery amazing.... shame the worst starters and deserts I've ever had, think I'll miss next year

The atmosphere was great and so was the food! Thoroughly enjoyed for Christmas Day!! Our waitress Tia was absolutely incredible and made our day that little bit more special. She was extremely welcoming and filled our time with loads of laughs and impeccable hospitality

The quieter it is, the better the experience here. Still in desperate need of a refurb. Staff do what they can but seem to have a lot of tables each to look after. Self check out being promoted and used via the app (doesn't seem available at this location) would be a big improvement.

Was refused payment with cash which was frustrating and a little embarrassing. We were given some rubbish about forged notes but why they don't accept cash or have the means to check notes is beyond me. Won't be going back here after being accused of trying to pass forged money.

Comically bad it might actually be worth going. Service very poor and food was lukewarm or cold. Much better places to spend your money.

Service was quick and friendly. A lovely waitress called Claire served us and even though she was busy she still gave us the best service.

Food wasn't that warm, roast potatoes were tough, stuffing horrible and cold, other veg cold too. Ended up not eating it all. Dident think it was worth the money. This is not the first time this has happened. Used to love the food here not any more.

I visited as part of a very large group for a christmas meal and Claire was a great server who took good care of us. there was a long queue for the carvery because it was so busy but thats understandable

Always loved this location.. had some great times here including my 40th birthday some years ago. Nice and friendly staff.. lovely food and decent priced drinks.

Sue gave us the bill after waiting for it for half an hour. We was then waiting for her to bring the card machine over, for over an hour. In the end, we had to go up to the bar to pay as she had took everyone else’s bill and people who arrived after us were served before us. Food was banging tho. Very disappointed Sue.

Came with my partner all the way from Redditch, hoping for a classic carvery experience. We arrived at 2pm on a Tuesday—prime lunchtime, right? Well, apparently not, because the food was cold. The veg? cold. The potatoes? So pale, they might’ve been photoshopped. The peas? Wrinklier than a raisin at the bottom of your bag. The carver? Generously stingy. I politely asked if I could avoid the "gamey" bits of turkey and beef, and got an unappealing portion of what I can only describe as tough, chewy, fatty beef and turkey that had clearly spent a few too many hours running through the woods. It was an assault on the taste buds—inedible and frankly, revolting. The only redeeming features were the Yorkshire puddings and the gravy, but nobody comes for that alone. Everything stayed on my plate, which is probably the most passive-aggressive review I can give. The staff were lovely, though one even asked if “everything was okay in the end,” which I appreciated, especially considering I left with a reduced bill. But honestly? I don’t think I’ll be returning by choice. If you want to leave feeling hungry and sick, this is the place for you.

The food was delicious, the beef and the roasters were the best for me. Will definitely be returning again. The gravy was lovely and thick, but not too thick, just right.

This was a regular but after today we are reconsidering as we got handed the bill but as we wanted to pay by card was left standing waiting for at least 25 minutes which feel like was a life time Considering they weren’t even busy you had 2 members of staff standing around behind bar having conversation While another 2 members of staff standing having conversations with each other while they finally finished of the conversation 1 them finally guided the other to take payment from us only because I made eye contact with them I probably would still be there waiting if I didn’t have eye contact they could see I wasn’t happy at all

The "simplicity " via the app to make a booking is " awesome " and to date, myself and family members have thoroughly enjoyed our meals . The bonus I like is the atmosphere the restaurant provides helps anyone to relax throughout their stay .

Great experience. Very busy Sunday around 6:30pm. Tia arrived to serve us quickly and was very friendly. Queue took a little while but no surprised as we were there at the busiest time of day. Shortly after we had finished, Tia arrived again and gave us the bill. Fantastic visit.

Absolutely awful. The food had been there for ages and some of it was hard and unable to chew properly. The service was poor. Will not be going there again

Went into this Toby carvery just for a sandwich but was then intrigued but the starters they had to offer. I ended up getting cheesy garlic bread and pigs in blankets along side my beef sandwich. The garlic bread was so nice i orders two more portions. Would 100000% recommend. Was told the chefs name was gaz. So thank you gaz for the top quality.

We went out for Sunday dinner today, and although it was extremely busy, we understand that's to be expected. Overall, the food was quite good—though some dishes were a bit bland, the Yorkshire puddings and gravy were excellent! The highlight of our visit, however, was our wonderful server, Sandra. She was absolutely lovely and went above and beyond to make our experience special. I was feeling a bit anxious about my cat at home, and she kindly reassured me that everything would be fine. She even suggested getting a camera to keep an eye on my cat, which was such a thoughtful recommendation. Please do pass along our thanks to Sandra—she's fantastic!

Really bad food. Was so looking forward to this carvery on a Sunday when prices are raised significantly. Haven't been out for some time due to families illness which is terminal... so went here fir a treat. Service was good. Nice girl. Very friendly. Food however needs to be sorted as firstly I got a serviette to hold my hot plate... no was a cold plate. Then the Yorkshire pud was flat and rubbery ( been left sitting), the roast potatoes were like bullets, sprouts hadn't been trimmed and the mint sauce had run out. Surely for the price of £14.49 these should all have been done properly. One thing the meat was nice so was taken home.. thoroughly disappointed and disgusted. I always cook and needed a break. Never again.

Stood waiting for the carver to turn up. Starter of pigs in blankets turned up after we'd collected our carvery. Beef ran out, Gammon ran out. Carver told previous customer that there was no more beef but then he went and fetched one for another customer. Dirty plates piled up high in random places around the establishment. Visited on a Monday evening, for the first time, not rushing back.

Just want to say a special thanks to Debs for being so lovely, always so helpful and makes us want to return. Food was banging too!

Absolute joke I have 5 kids from 4 -12 they went up individually enjoying the carvery experience but because they became flustered by the servers question they where incorrectly given adult plates and I was forced to pay for them complete and utter disgrace and we will never return absolute joke.

First time at this carvery . The plates were dirty and all scratched! Very offputting , plates need replacing urgently! Also why are the plates stone cold ? Next to a hot servery I expected them to be a least warm. By the time you’ve queued up to do your own toast on a very slow toaster and get back to the table , the rest of the food is cold. I feel another toaster within the restaurant is definitely needed! Nice coffee . Didn’t see many staff around but the food I had was tasty and looked nice . The ladies toilets were clean and smelt nice. If I hadn’t been so hungry I’d have left purely because the plate were not up to standard. I wouldn’t go again because the first 3 plates I picked up had food underneath them and this grossed me out.

One positive. I had the opposite experience you would expect. The beef was actually tender and had flavour. Now for the many negatives. - Took nearly 50 minutes until we finally had food on the table. - Service was slow to the table. Ended up spending just over two hours there. Last ones in the entire establishment because they forgot about us. - The chef was getting annoyed and shouting at everyone with an attitude because he couldn't fathom that not a single customer didn't want to be served until the Yorkshire puddings were brought out. I know right. Who would have imagined people attending a carvery want a Yorkshire pudding. What is this madness? - The plates are extremely hot to handle. You burn your hands touching them. So you have to make your own oven gloves with napkins stolen from the bar area. - Another chef brought out brand new sprouts from the kitchen. And then threw the old sprouts on top of the new ones. So instead of the last customers getting the finest freshest produce. Basically no one is allowed anything nice. Everyone suffers and gets the old dregs. - Some of the foods were contaminated with other foods. For example there was tonnes of sweetcorn in the carrots or something. The chef saw this. And to make it look better. He just mixed the food from the bottom and brought it to the top. To cover up and hide the mess. So people spooning one type of food, will unexpectedly get food they absolutely hate on the plate. He couldn't be arsed to fix the problem. So he just covered the problem up. - Chefs had horrible attitudes. Just moaning about work and how difficult it was. They couldn't care about the quality of the product, or customer service at all. And if shows. They don't give a toss about anything. - The Yorkshire puddings had a weird taste. Usually these are meant to be amazing and have that eggy dessert like flavour. But these were bland, cardboard. - Coffee. Tasted burnt and awful. But was also not even hot. Actually a challenge to drink. - The worst part is the cleanliness. None of the staff members care about keeping the food serving area clean and tidy. With such volume of traffic they need to be extra on top of things. But it's worse than a run down McDonald's. - The sauce area had no sauces. I asked a chef loudly and he ignored me. So I had to ask a cleaner waitress lady who went into the kitchen. During this time your food is going cold. The sauce area was absolutely disgusting. Just sauce all over the counter top. You have to reach over and hope you don't get covered and stained by the sauces. The apple sauce tasted artificial. Way too sweet. Just cheap rubbish. Cranberry sauce was also out of a tin too. Didn't try anything else because they were all contaminated with random sauces. None of them were labelled correctly. - Gravy area was also very dark and they weren't labelled correctly. Gravy was lumpy and looked horrendous. No onion gravy or anything different. One gravy was steaming hot. The other was mildly warm at best. Again the area was really dirty. Doesn't take much for someone to get a cloth and spend 1 minute wiping surfaces down. £15 an hour / 60. 25p to transform the place from being horrible to reasonable. - The table was also sticky. They didn't bother to clean it properly with actual cleaning products. - Drinks machine was running out of syrups. So the tango was basically water. Drinks machine was also really dirty. So when you put your drink back on the table. Your table gets soaked with water since their are no drinks mats. And the drinks machine is extremely wet since the liquid has nowhere to drain into. £34 for 2 meals and fizzy drinks is far too much. Especially for the quality you aren't getting. - Apple crumble. Had no apple in it really. Crumble soggy. Was probably microwaved. Custard was cold. Lots of skin from apple getting stuck in my mouth I had to put on the plate too. I would seriously avoid going to this place. Absolutely pointless trip out.

Class ! Gentleman as welcome host is brillant organiser , extremely busy night yet he managed people and restaurant superbly. Great food , super staff , lovely atmosphere, quality cost. Definitely worth a visit.

I pre booked a booth table due to a lady attending with us that is disabled and unable to walk without aid and crutches. Due to a debilitating illness. When we arrived the manager booked us in but didn't look at notes for the booth area and put us right at the back the furthest away than where I asked. So I spoke to a server named Tia. She totally understood our perdicament and went to sort this issue for us. We totally were aware how busy they were and we were willing to wait. Within a few minutes she dealt with it and escorted us to our booth table . Tia was amazing and I'm fully appreciative for her understanding and support she went the extra mile and I would like her to be recognised for her help. Our server Charlotte was amazing also. She checked we were happy throughout our time there. She helped me set up the birthday cake and brought it over to us she was truly wonderful and we would like for her to be recognised also for her help which was also appreciated. Thank you ladies for making our evening celebrations.

We treat ourselves to a visit every month, with friendly staff and a great atmosphere. A choice of all the meats and as much veg as you can eat. I've never tasted meat so soft and juicy at a pub meal. I don't know how you can do these prices and still serve quality food, like you do. Thanks.
