Toby Carvery Kings Norton in Birmingham

Went yesterday with three friends, very disappointed, the Turkey was wet and fatty, I couldn't eat any of it. The Cauliflower cheese was so hard, obviously uncooked you couldn't get your knife through it. The beef apparently wasn't very nice, overall all four of us didn't enjoy our meals. Haven't been there for a couple of years as never had a decent meal. Sorry, it could be lovely but it isn't.

5 Stars – Delicious Carvery and Great Value! Visited Toby Carvery Kings Norton with my partner and we were seriously impressed. The meats were cooked to perfection, the veg was fresh and tasty, and the Yorkshire puddings were spot on. The gravy tied everything together beautifully! The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the prices were more than reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. This has definitely become one of our new favourite spots — we’ll be back for sure!

Lady called Sandra was so helpful and pleasant. Kids loved her and she made them laugh.

Our waitress Sandra was wonderful, so kind and chatty with our baby. The gammon was very salty but the food otherwise was tasty. Shame there was only one person carving on a Saturday lunch which slowed things down

Just up from London to celebrate my birthday with a visit to Cadbury world. Just had an amazing experience at the sTony Carvery at King Norton Clair was so welcoming answering our questions about the area and helping my 91 year old mother in law navigate her first time at a carvery. Then the amazing chef David was a ray of sunshine so very kind and patient xxx a credit to Tony Carvery

It's a Toby - can't go wrong for a cheap roast. Probably best avoided on a Sunday mind

The service here was great but the food left much to be desired. Sorry looking carvery display full of dried out meat and veg , we had to go to kfc afterwards.

Long queue as usual, roast was well worth it tho💯

Pretty decent meal overall, with good food and veg selection, very tasty gammon. Service below par with long wait times and looking like it was a chore. Complete lack of enthusiasm and was disappointing considering it was my first ever Toby Carvery. Not much to say about atmosphere, and by that I literally mean not much. 3/5 is a fair rating in my books, may come again if I fancy an affordable and good for value roast.

For the price of the food not great portion and when asked for a bit more on plate was told its 1 slice of meat per selection but never even got that very poor

My carvery was nice once heated up in the microwave as it was cold. There was no gravy and the station was full of food and it still is for the second time after my friend cleaned it initially. The carvery ouck d up the bin with a dirty tea towel scrapped food into the bin then used th same tea towel to carry plates from th kitchen and attach to his clothes so he can re-use it. For example wiping his hands. Don't have the Bakewell sponge tastes mostly of sugar nothing else.

Worst Toby Carvery I have ever been in. Booked a table. When we arrived our table was dirty. Despite 3/4 of the restaurant being empty, we had to wait for our table to be cleaned. Then we weren’t offered a drinks or given any cutlery. Really hard work to get any service from anyone. The food was a shambles. The carvery section looked very dirty. The veg had clearly been hanging around in the pots for a very long time. All dried up and shrivelled. Then cold by the time it was back to the table. Gravy was congealed! Then had to try and chase someone down to get any service to order our son the ice lolly for his pudding. Went to the bar to order and ask for the bill to then be told…….I will send someone over. No-one came over but the manager was clearing the table next to us. Nice to see she had her priorities right. Oh and to add to it…….the underneath of the table was covered in food. Disgusting. We only stayed to get some food as had just left cadburyworld and needed to get some food into our 5 year old before our 4 hour drive home. We don’t know the area and this seemed like the ideal place rather than driving around searching for anywhere.

Great Mothers Day carvery, great service and food

We were a large family group and everyone was able to get a meal they enjoyed at the Sunday Carvery. The staff we met were very pleasant, particularly Claire who served our table. She was very attentive to see my relative with autism got a meal to suit her restricted tastes.

Great service from Sarah, gave us time to order and had a laugh with us. Thank you for your service.

Why do you feel the need to put bacon in the Yorkshire pudding and the hash at breakfast that means so many people can't eat it

We booked a table of 13 people with about 30mins notice. Debs and Adel were great at accommodating us. The booking was just before breakfast ended and Debs and the kitchen manager arranged for fresh Sausages, hash browns and eggs to be put out. Great service!

They are absolutely the best! Debs Adel is very sweet and helpful.

Tasteless and over cooked breakfast. Ordered two large breakfasts received one, sausages and hash browns over cooked, potato mashed into the bottom of the tub, everything but the bacon and eggs were tasteless, nothing good about this breakfast. Avoid this place

I booked a table for motherday 2.20 would of rated higher but on arrival had 2stand in a queue for 20mins with my mom and 2of my children who are aldults now then had 2stand with my mom who is 85year up by the bar with a drink until they called u 4 tables cause they was over book and other customer was just walking in and just sitting on tables that was reserved for who had booked which is wrong BUT MY MOM DID ENJOY HER CARVERY WHEN SHE GOT IT ..

Booked a table at 8.50 after I had finished work after seeing it closed at 10, upon arrival the woman at the door (older lady with a ponytail and fringe) looked to a coworker at the bar visibly looking unimpressed finished her conversation then came to myself an my partner and very rudely had said they closed at 9 to have a look at what carvery was left and see if we still wanted to eat. Her whole demeanour was horrific she was so rude to us made us feel completely unwelcome and that if we were to stay we would just be a bother. I felt so uncomfortable I asked my partner if we could leave. The chef stood at the carvery seemed very polite and could see that I looked disheartened and made sure to apologise and offered some solutions which was very sweet. However after the attitude we received from the floor and bar staff who continued to argue about closing times which weren’t displayed correctly on Google I will not be returning I have never felt so unwelcome in a venue in my life. Awful awful service.

Booked for Mother’s Day at 3:30pm. The first red flag was there was no parking available so I had to dump my car next to a curb and climb over the passenger side to get out. Got to the top of the stairs and that’s where the end of the queue was. Can’t understand why the queue was so big if it was mainly reservations. Obviously very unorganised. Waited for a while, popped my head around and there were about 30 people in the queue for the carvery. Couldn’t wait even if I wanted to due to my toddler so we ended up going elsewhere.

Booked a table for 3.10pm today waited in queue for 10 minutes to say I have a table booked to be told I have to wait another 20 minutes what’s the point in booking a table if it’s not ready!!!

Ordered two take away carveries with Turkey and Gammon, sadly no meat came. Highway robbery.

Hostile front of house staff member, waited a long time 15 mins to be seated. Staff passing us by with no acknowledgement until we went into the restaurant to find someone. Their response we were just coming to you. Vegetables were dried out, obviously there for the whole day. Had to ask for potatoes and stuffing, pasta not edible! By the time we waited for other items our meats and gravy were cold.

Super friendly service by Claire, felt like nothing asked was to much effort. Food was really good too.

The location of the restaurant is very good for everyone, very easy to access if you are driving and for anyone who is taking the bus, the bus stops (on either side of the road) are just by the restaurant so you won’t be walking extra distance to get to the restaurant or get to your buses. And also, the Kings Norton train station is just about two minutes walk from there too. So it is easily accessible. The food is great and the carvery is excellent. There is the mini game centre for kids and of course adults too can play the games 😂 there is a private dining area that is conducive for meetings too. You can go there for your breakfast and also lunch and dinner. The environment is child friendly and the meals are very affordable. PS: They offer delivery services too and you can also take away for food.

Extra large carvery for me! Beef was cooked just right and the as many roast potatoes as you want! Tried the all you can eat breakfast as well, just as good, even scrambled me eggs!

Honest review here: Went on a Sunday for a carvery. The parking was full, so clearly the parking is too small for a busy day. The service was good as staff are helpful and professional. The food was actually quite nice. The queue for the carvery was quite a letdown as we waited aproximately 40 minutes. The food is displayed where so many people just walk by and there were obnoxious people in the queue that were just breathing over and leaning over it. Surely that is not right. The place itself could use a bit of a refurb as to have better ways of access and an updated decor.

Our server Freya was superb, we both noticed how smiley she was and she dealt with a rather difficult customer near us very well!

The food was Luke warm and nearly cold by the time it got back to the table. Hardly any selection as takeaway meals were been filled leaving containers empty. The staff are rushed off there feet. Very busy and the chefs are having to serve and plate up takeaways and the waitress is rushed off her feet and having to prepare deserts also as a man down in the kitchen x the staff were great. Hard working and even though they were running around trying to please everyone our server Claire was friendly polite and managed to still be smiling x

First time for breakfast. Very good selection. Eggs were originally a bit hard but when I went back up there were fresh eggs which were lovely. Debs was very friendly and helpful. Veggie sausages which were cooked to order were great. Will definitely be back

We visit every week for a breakfast and catch-up with family. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and react kindly to my father’s repetitive jokes, especially poor Sue who is unlucky enough to see us most weeks.

Food standard, green beans and pasta for veg options.. never any nice veg… chefs look like they are off their head and the facilities, tired, dated, that much it’s almost a feature in a business that refuses to invest.. vanilla, but does the job and the front of house staff very courteous and friendly…

Best carvery to go to. Just don't go on a Sunday. Booked for 3.50. Got seated at 4.10. Finally sat with my meal at 5.05. The que for the carvery was wrapped around the pub. Certainly wouldn't of waited if I had kids.

Never had a bad meal, meat can be occasionally fatty but not enough to moan about. I keep going back so can't be that bad 😉

Popped in as friends birthday hadn't booked and was rammed,lovely lady said if we were prepared to wait approx 20 mins she could get us a table.less than 10mins and seated. Carvery was amazing staff attentive. When asking for the bill young lady asked if we had a voucher?? Then explained if we downloaded the app would get a sizeable amount off the bill ,which of cause we did 😀 staff very friendly food Great will definitely be going back 💗

Not the first time visit , we came today with the £6 carvery offer and booked at 6pm, we expected will be more people than usual but didn’t expect the extremely long waiting time for carvery ! Staff at reception worked really hard to get table for us in 10 mins however the queue has been extended longer and longer . We joined the queue and finally waited for one hour ! Yes one hour at the queue. The reason is not about the food supply but how the staff management is . Only One guy serving customer while he responsible on cutting meat as well as get all meats out from kitchen when it’s gone . Another guy who only take care vegetables and looks less busier ,why don’t he also help on meats to share some workloads ? Come on be flexible ! At least manager should have noticed short of hands and get sorted of it .

Some customers were treated more warmly than others. We simply walked in without a reservation. We were assigned to the bar area. My wife clearly expressed her request to move to the restaurant area. But the staff insisted we stay in the bar without explanation. Meanwhile, a lady who made the same request before my wife was accommodated immediately. Additionally, the bar area is a self-service section with tables not set for dining. When I asked one of the team members for cutlery while carrying my food, she simply opened the drawer and left me to help myself. We couldn't help but feel unwelcome and unfairly treated.

Lovely food had an amazing server think her name was Beth she was lovely to us and made our experience great.

It was my first time to visit for breakfast, and I was looking forward to it. However, the waiter did not introduce us at all, did not speak, and just stood in front of the cashier. We asked the waiter if there was a drink menu, and she said no. There was no receipt after payment, so I suspected that they had been overcharged for the meal.

Came here today was lovely food was really nice a waitress Claire who served us was rushed off her feet and still gave great service would definitely recommend

The staff member went above and beyond due to huge queues we were going to leave as having physical health problems, we are unable to stand for long periods of time. The staff asked what meats we wanted and brought us our plates allowing us to just get our veg. Couldn’t of asked for more
