Worst meal ever. 2 rump steaks tough and tasteless.

We went for a quick drink but saw the fish and chips come out for another table. They looked so good, we ordered it too. We were not disappointed! It was delicious!!

Good food, fast service, polite friendly staff all in a lovely atmosphere, what more could you want. Believe it's under going a refurb soon so should be even better

Recently visited the pub and had a superb time. This was mainly due to the friendly and helpful staff, especially young James. He had great information about the food available and an extensive knowledge of all the drinks they served. You don't see it very often now but his happy smiling face was a pleasure to see and made our night.

Pub is relatively good although the need for some upholstering on certain seats is overdue. The food was average. The main concern is the miserable person

Good selection of food, only go midday with colleagues but it is worth a visit.

Great place in Sutton. Popped in for a quick pint and was very happy with the atmosphere. James pulls a great pint and was a good chat too.

Came in with my fury Rottweiler, James was great, got the dog water and biscuits. Had some food cooked by John, was quick efficient and piping hot. Overall a good experience, would definitely be coming back again.

Had some lovely food made by John which came out quickly. Great service on the bar by James who also helped sort water and snacks for my dog Rusty.

Popped in at lunch time. Place was busy but clean and tidy. Ordered of the lunch time menu. Was served by james who was polite and friendly. Food came out quickly and was of good quality and plenty of it. Would use again if in the area.

Popped in for a coffee with my mum, the atmosphere was lovely and full of families popping in for their Sunday lunch. Fire places were lit and keeping the pub lovely and warm. Staff were welcoming and polite and served us with a smile

We attend the quiz regularly on a Wednesday night, and we are always very happy with the service we receive, it seems to have improved, however, over the last few weeks which is great for us. I also pop in from time to time for a drink and the staff are always happy and friendly, just what you want from your local pub.

I have been several times here. Nice pub and nice atmosphere except every time I visit there are people vaping indoors. Sneakily, yes, but quite obvious with the plumes of smoke coming from under their armpits. Please deal with vapers who are secretly breaking the law in your pub!

Popped for a quick dinner one Thursday night. Had a great meal with my iPad for company. The Hunter’s Chicken Schnitzel was hot and perfectly cooked. Side salad was fresh and lightly dressed. Chips were crisp and soft inside. Team on shift were everything they should be. Will definitely be back; it’s great to see the Crown back to its best and heard a refurb is on the cards this year too.

Came in for quiz night and received great service from both Daisy’s behind the bar. Always a welcoming atmosphere and great food.

Came here on a Friday with a friend who lives nearby. My eyes caught the sign for 2 course £9.99 lunch so we thought - well rude not to! I have to say this was far and away one of the best 2 course lunches either of us have had in terms of both the food (quality and portion) and the service of the staff. Very impressed, I have told various friends so we'll be taking a trip over too! 5 Stars all round.

I'm afraid to say the food was quite poor, and to top it off several members of our party of 16 people were ill the next day. Its safe to say we won't be back.

Had a wake here. The managers Kieran was very helpful and the bar staff very friendly and polite. Great value for money and the food was lovely.

I think the service is exemplary and Daisy really looked after us. Only thing is I think ember inns needs to invest in this pub as it use to be a flagship site that would compete with its current competitors. Lager choices and prices also need to be reviewed.

Beef was tender in the signature pie and mash was free of lumps. The open fires create a nice atmosphere especially on a freezing day. Get the app for an even more pleasing experience.

Have come here multiple times now with family and on my own, have always found a welcoming, homely atmosphere. Staff have always been friendly and happy to help. The food has never failed to disappoint either, highly recommended.

Lovely place, the staff are friendly and ready to help. Food I'd gorgeous. I had the special of chicken and leak pie. The pie was actually a real pie with a pastry bottom and packed with big chunks of chicken. With a 50% discount this week on food to you can't get better. Going back on Thursday for steak night!

Had a lovely night out with my wife as treat for ourselves starters where lovely and. The steaks where cooked just how we like them. Few games of backgammon in nice soundings . Open fire. And good value as there was a 50 % off mains

I’m bugged by this - asked for a large white wine - got charged for a large - they put two large ice cubes in the filled to the 250 Mark - I realised but let it go the first time - 2nd time called them out and they apologised and put the correct measure in - the guy was free pouring - very annoying

Came for our sons birthday meal with family. Great service, food was great. Lovely pub with lovely polite staff. Will definitely come again.

We dined here for Christmas lunch. Staff were fantastic, friendly and attentive the whole time. The tables were decorated beautifully as to was the restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed the food all three courses were presented beautifully and tasted amazing! Credit to the staff for making a joyous day of Christmas for us.

Christmas lunch. Food, drinks, staff and atmosphere great. Prices reasonable. Can’t say more than that. Go once a week and will continue to do so.

Credit to the bar staff for dealing with a really busy night. They were exceptional. Great live act too. Will definitely be back, live music or not. Superb.

Asked for my steak medium. It was the most burnt chargrilled steak I've have seen. Worse steak I've ever had and about 10 chips. This was 15 pound as well. Had a under 6 year old meal came with chips, chicken nuggets and beans. However there were next to no beans. They served the beans in a tiny sauce pot. Not much of a portion for a under 6 year old. Paid for pudding and it was just 2 tiny ice cream scoops. My toddler finished it super quick. God help an older child. Just expensive poor food for small portions. Maybe get smaller plates so it doesn't look so sparse. Lovely pub nice drinks just poor food. Didn't complain prob should have. But too polite and I was with local family so I didn't want to cause a fuss.

Really enjoyed our annual Christmas meal here the staff really looked after us and the food was fantastic, have bought tickets for New Years Eve aswell!

Popped in today for a drink on way home Come here on a regular basis, can't fault service, food etc. What really gets me is that the obscene language by the builders who come in for a well earned pint usually close to the bar. We had to sit at the back so didn't hear the effing and blinding. PLEASE can you put a sign up about lthe language it's not as if it's done quietly especially when children are in. Are you that desperate for trade, I was in the building trade and I can swear with the best of them Are you scared to tell them 🤔

Reasonable food that you had to order at the bar. Staff friendly for a Saturday night in a pub that wasn't particularly busy.

Staff were lovely, However food was appalling. Chicken Sunday roasts had potatoes that were too tough to eat, definitely not roasted, but solid! Veg had passed briefly through hot water, also inedible. Chicken was ok, as was Yorkshire, but we both left everything else on the plate. Needless to say, don’t recommend the food at all, but as previously said, drinks were fine, and staff were lovely

As a family we very regularly come to eat at the Crown with my mum who is in her 90’s. She is having some hard times and absolutely loves coming to the Crown with the family. The staff are always friendly, welcoming and efficient (Thankyou). She enjoys the small meals and we all eat well. Thankyou for such a positive welcoming inclusive atmosphere.

Great service and even better food and wine, had a girls night here for a light meal and wine Mel,Aimee and Brandon were so attentive and polite, and John served the best open steak sandwiches will definitely be here again!

We both had Haddock and Chips which was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. The only area for improvement was in the size of the portion of mushy peas.

Came here for a family meal. When ordering we asked for chilli sauce instead of gravy sauce in the burger. The lady at the bar said that’s fine. When the food arrived, there was gravy sauce in the burger, when questioned about this the waitress said that the chef refused to do it, when we were told that it was possible when ordering. When the chicken hunters schnitzel came it was burnt and clearly had been sat under the heat for a while. The service was appalling and the lady serving had no manners and didn’t even apologise for the issues with the food. Would not recommend to eat here. 100% avoid. Maybe for a drink that’s about it.

A firm favourite for many years. Good drinks and beer. Shame it's not as busy as it used to be. Food is what you expect for Ember Inn and the price range. A good local, would like to see more people use it.

Great night as always, Shaun is always welcoming and he and his team are really friendly and hardworking. The Crown has improved massively in the last 6 months, tables are cleared and cleaned, staff are polite and happy to serve customers. Shaun has been the first manager in a long time to give the pub stability and reinforce customer service. Would be nice if the place could get a face lift as it is a little tired and has not had any improvements in a very long time unlike most other local establishments.

Sunday Lunch invite from friends so it's hard to really be completely critical, but four lunches slightly warm was not a good start, put that with vegetables dipped in and out of water, and three small potatoes that were certainly not home cooked. Why did we not complain, when friends invite you out it's a case of being polite.

New and updated menu is great... food arrived with a smile. The meal was exceptional and the atmosphere is always welcoming. The gaffa is a credit to rhe establishment ...

Sean and his team did a buffet for us to take to an event at the national arboretum, and wow, what a delicious buffet it was. A very good variety of sandwiches, and other snacks. Highly recommended

Perfect evening, staff and food are amazing

Our party of 10, some with disabilities enjoyed a great meal here yesterday. We had starters mains and plenty of drinks and the total bill was very reasonable. All of our food was very good with one small exception. The staff were very welcoming and pleasant and our meals and drinks arrived soon and all together which was great.

Went for the pub quiz night, absolutely brilliant even if our answers weren’t haha, lovely atmosphere and the bartenders and waitresses were lovely and really welcoming. Would recommend!!

Menu had changed ...orders came with things on we asked to not be on ...ordered drinks on the app took a trip to the bar to ask where they where after 15 mins ....when the drink came it was slammed on the table...no apology ....not a great visit ....New menu not great either .....

Had a lovely family night at the The Crown. Four of us ate and we each had a very good meal considering the price. The fish and chips were particularly good whilst the veggie curry option was tasty and filling. Very nice staff and the beer was good, too. Wasn't expecting it to be as nice as it was. Hats off to the staff!
