Halloumi fries were overcooked Cheese and bacon burger requested without lettuce and onion came with both - staff did offer to cook again but cba The burge meat was cheap grisley and tastes vile didnt eat it. Pudding the brownie was nice, chocolate cake tastes old dry came.out cold, sent it back.

Rude!!! Server mistakenly put our food down on on the wrong table and despite me cordially waiving her over to mine, the correct table, she (Hannah) then felt it appropriate to throw my food onto my table. We came today with a party of around 20 people and judging by the unanimous intake of breath by everyone in the party my disgust is warranted. Will never step foot in the place again. First and last

Lovely main course. 3 adults had carvery. Disappointing dessert. No mention on menu of chocolate ice cream in salted caramel sundae. Would have chosen something different if I had known. Service exceptional from finding a more suitable table on arrival. Shout out to waitress Lorna !

Just returned from an evening carvery. Dreadful experience. I booked it with Groupon. Firstly there were no staff on the front desk to take your information. We sat down and waited, and nobody came over. The one waiter stood talking to the chefs. I approached him and asked what the process was, and I was told to go to the bar. I showed my voucher, but the girl serving had to get the manager. Eventually my order was taken at the bar, but I had to return for the full receipt. No organisation at all. Dreary atmosphere and food not even average. The place was empty for a Saturday night. The chef spoke loudly all night with the staff, which overpowered the whole dining area. Nobody came over to check on how the food was. Eventually, a staff member from the bar came into the restaurant and made up our desserts as we were just sat with our plates. Absolutely dreadful experience. I have, on many occasions, used this bar to meet friends for drinks, however, I will not be returning to either drink or eat here again!! Awful

Carvery was great. Could have been hotter. Gravy wasn't hot either. Guy kindly microwaved my mums as otherwise she wouldn't eat it.

Had delivery Disgusting..minimum everything apart from a ton of mash called restaurant spoke to manager apparently menu differs from in house if delivered. U basically get sent the most unpopular items ie mash Roasties only words to discrib where soggy an black frozen beans & yorkshires Do chef not no how to make mash have to use instant? Or make yorkshires? Basic food ! There's no words to describe meat !

Jake in the lounge bar was excellent and very helpful and has encouraged us to return in the near future. The venue was very comfortable and inviting, thank you.

Visited The Fox to meet old school friends and had a meal, couple of drinks and the food, service and atmosphere were great. Will certainly be returning soon.

Went to collect a too good to go bag 1st time ever coming manger was helpful got over to the bit where you collect your food and the guy was so rude was clearly having a bad day we asked for cutlery to get a very rude response the food was awful aswell the peas where not cooked at all 🤮 Definitely will not be returning

All good here but always room for improvement! Not enough disabled parking so have to drop 82 year old mother at door, causing inconvenience for other drivers. No small carvery available on Sunday! Why? Who gains anything from this? Generally find 82 year old mother can't eat full size carvery. QR code on table just freezes, I'm on sky network, who knows?? Everything else superb. Spuds annihilated just how I like them

It is our regular local pub and The Fox in Walmely is a great place for breakfast and carvery, also the weekly food offers are tasty. The bar is great busy however very attentive. They really look after me and partner. We have got to know the staff well and some have become close friends. I would highly recommend The Stonehouse The Fox 👍

After hearing very positive comments about the Fox from a friend (& testing it out for myself) I booked to go there with family and friends after my Fathers funeral. Seventeen of us went there today and I cannot praise them highly enough. Anna the waitress was amazing, so attentive, nothing was too much trouble for her. The food was good, all the staff were friendly and polite, all the meals arrived at the same time and the restaurant was clean and welcoming. The total cost for drinks (hot & cold) mains and sweets was very reasonable, it was way less than the room hire cost of a local hotel that offers funeral receptions. All in all a perfect ending to a very stressful day. Thank you.

Big shout out to Dennis on carvery very polite and helpful highly recommended will be back plus seems better with new manager there now pudding was so nice whole staff was polite and well mannered big up the fox

Big car park , on entering book your car in drink no complaints carvery again no complaints. Value for money. Family friendly good choice of seating and you don't sit in the dark.

Went for birthday breakfast this morning . The girl eventually came out took my ticket and i asked if there was any bacon as there was only dried up bits in bottom of dish her response was "you will have to wait " with a very horrible attitude so i waited while she was chatting for approx 5mins when she came out she literally threw the bacon into the dish then marched off !!! Disgraceful customer service didnt get her name but she had brown hair in a ponytail ( no cap or hair net ) Will definatley be getting intouch with her manager . Disgusting attitude

Family meal to celebrate Yule with daughter (main family live in North East) daughter and partner live in Birmingham. All staff were friendly and helpful, food was lovely and portion sizes were perfect. Overall a good atmosphere that was relaxing and welcoming.

We came in Xmas day to collect a food order it was very busy but the staff were amazing. Especially the hostess who managed everyone really well even when some were outwardly hostile to her undeservedly. The food was great and made our Xmas so much simpler getting take out. Thank you to all the staff sacrificing their Xmas to work and make others that bit more special

Mustifya was our server - such a lovely guy We went for Christmas Day - he was fantastic 8 of us had a really lovely meal - I asked the lady if we could sit on the big round table as it was booked to 4’s so it was perfect ! Thankyou

So we went to breakfast with santa a group of 9 which was a xmas meet up to be told we had to be on 3 tables. So we asked to be put on a table all together as it was xmas meet up so they first told us there was no table and when we asked if we could sit on a long table that had been vacated they said at first it was reserved but then said yes as long as we were out by 1130. The kids tickets for santa were reused they had other kids names on i would expect my own childs name on the ticket as the experiance wad 10 pound each kid !! ... over all i feel like it was poorly organised you had booked to many people at a time with a rush to kick us out and the food was all ok though was eaten quicker than replaced and as we were on a time limit we couldnt wait for the food to be brought back out. Santa was good he made a real effort to entertain the kids walking around while they were eating to reduce fear when they went to see him but deffo not worth 9.99 when the normal kids breaky is 99p for my kids ages. The staff made us feel like we were being awkward for asking to sit as a family even though id booked it weeks before and when i spoke to the bar lady she said she was shocked that she was having to give out reused tickets and appoligised because i asked if this was the 1st year they had done this or if it was a yearly thing to which she said it was every year. This made it even worse in my opinion as it wasnt even trial by error.

Today we had breakfast with santa. It was by the far the best I've ever been to with the kids! Chris in particular went above and beyond to make it special for the children! As always service from Anna and Sarah was amazing. Thank you guys x

We had a family get together for Christmas last night at the Fox. Everything was absolutely perfect! I'm not usually a fan of a carvery, but we all decided to go for the festive carvery. The food was great, well cooked and very tasty. All of the staff were very attentive and friendly. A special mention of Amy, one of the cooks I believe. She was behind the counter right by our table and was amazing all night long! Would definitely recommend 💯

The chips were unseasoned and the chicken nuggets were really yucky and the mash tasted weird and was not mashed it was chunky but I liked the activity menu -Ryan age 9 Nice carvery, the staff were great making us feel welcome with quick service. Thank you to William and Anna who were absolutely fantastic! We were a large group of (24) older adults who were given such great care and attention by these staff. I cannot thank them enough. They certainly went over and above to make sure we had a great time. We had a brilliant Christmas dinner, the food was all really good but it was the staff that made the experience exceptional. Thank you we will definitely come back again.

We had a kids pizza making party here at the end of November 2024 for our 8 year old daughter. What a great party it was! William looked after all the kids so well and they had so much fun making their individual pizzas in all shapes and with personalised toppings. It was great seeing all the kids so engaged and having lots of laughs. Can’t recommend enough. Incredible value!

Our Ladies Club (29) of us, went for our annual Christmas dinner. The festive menu was extremely good. We had our own waitress Aaron, who was both very polite and friendly. He made our luncheon very enjoyable. Any of the staff, whether, kitchen, bar or management were pleasant and welcoming. We will certainly return.

We came in for dinner with our 2 small children. Amy was incredible, we cannot thank her enough for the time she gave to our daughter. We all had a really enjoyable experience and she also made us a delicious pizza!!

All of the wait staff were lovely and friendly, However we were seated in a tiny booth (there were 5 of us) which was cramped and not big enough for everyone to sit comfortably. The chef cut the tiniest pieces of meat possible from the carvery and the "slice of beef" was literally just a raggy bit of fat - for the price of the carvery the amount of meat u get is terrible and clearly the chef doesn't think to even cut off a piece which is atleast edible. The selection of veg was minimal and disappointing compared with other carveries. The carrots were clearly just dry frozen carrots with zero taste, the stuffing was baked to death and one of the roasters i'd picked up had a rotten patch in it (see pic). It's as though no care or attention whatsoever is put into the food.

Great Sunday roast nice mash with vegs and meat. Brilliant service ordered delivery as wasnt feeling well. Thanks for the spoons and for going the extra mile! 😇

We visited this pub on this Tuesday Excellent service from Jake and the Manager. However carvery meat was cut wafer thin and they ran out of two vegetables .

As a regular going for a carvery I had a voucher come through my emails and my wife and I decided to go here Having ordered our drinks and 2 carveries we went to the server and had our food we had noticed that there were no serviettes any where and the carver gave my wife her food And the plate burnt her hand it was that hot and he apologised because the napkins don't arrive until tomorrow and he put a cold plate below the hot one so she didn't burn herself again after sitting down to eat the only thing that was hot was the plate. The food was lukewarm and not very enjoyable when we had finished our meal we moved up to by the bar and after trying my madri beer I could taste a chemical taste to it I asked if it could be changed because I thought it didn't taste right she called the general manager over his name is Chris/Craig Lloyd ( his staff wasn't sure what his name was she thought it was Craig) and he stated that there was nothing wrong with the beer as it has been served all day without complaint I then said it must be the glass and could I have a different beer in a different glass he said no I can have the same drink out of the glass I complained about into another glass at this I did say to him that he should stick it where the sun doesn't shine and left it on the bar I think it will be a long time before we go there again not Stonehouse but definitely not the fox while he is managing it

I went to the fax with my dad to have a carvery, the meal was very disappointing, the roasters were rock hard and could not be eaten even though the chef had bought out fresh ones, the mash was lumpy, the staff looked like they could not be bothered or even cared, no one came to ask how the meal was, as I assume they already knew how bad the food was, we both had a pint of Johnsmiths with are meal and we both felt that it tasted flat. We went on a Saturday and the pub was empty I can only assume that this is due to the poor quality of the food and the unwilling and unhelpful staff. I would recommend that no one goes to this very poor pub, me and my dad will never go there again.

We have been going here for a few years go at least 3 times a month but for the last few months it has been steadily going downhill vegetables all dry carrots were black mash was lumpy and dry and the roast potato’s were only half cooked and mostly rock solid the only good thing about that experience was the two lovely young ladies working

I tend to visit the Fox for the carvery. The food is always very good, the pub is clean and comfortable and the staff are always very friendly.

Went for breakfast... sausages burnt. You can get pizza on your breakfast but can't get basic brown sauce. Hit water for tea was warm not hot. Tea was luke warm after adding milk. Toaster hardytoasted bread. Used to be great here for Breakfast but not anymore sadly. The only positive thing I can say about my experience today is the girl on the till who served us was really nice.

Dropped in here for a no frills quick quiet lunch.its a Calvery restaurant,beef ham or turkey meat.i had beef my father was turkey the meat looked dry but was absolutely brilliant nice and tender a decent portion full of flavour.the mash and cauliflower cheese were good and proper roast potatoes.good gravy so for the price it was good the only thing i could find wrong is there was no horseradish sauce and one of the waitresses had ear phones on putting Halloween decorations up and was singing which was dreadful I would have paid extra for her to stop lol but overall 4/5 cheers

Great staff, especially Em always friendly and helpful.. Used the pub for 23 years so it's shame the current manager is doing his best to ruin it. No darts team or pool team noww.. Generally all the staff are brilliant.. Em ,Anna, Will, Amy, Caitlin Aaron Carol. Too many to mention but are all good and a credit to the pub.

Absolutely disgusting. Refusing serve us to a carvery due to them being under staffed. Had 2 children and my disabled mom with me. Wouldnt allow us to sit down for my mom to get her breath back.

The good old fox. I love the morning Breakfast as well as the evening Calvery. I have been coming hear for years. And very time is a wonderful experience. Anna is a wonderful worker. Her warm smile just makes my day a perfect one.

Anna served us and was brilliant. She had a lovely smile and was very attentive and happy to help. The food was fine and it's nice to find an alternative place for a carvery at The Fox to replace the now closed Toby Carvery in Sutton Park.
