Carvery Food/meat dry and cut wafer thin with too much fat. Staff disinterested.

We love it here, best Sunday roast i have found. Also pizza Tuesday is a bargain! Friendly service, sports tvs, little teddy machine for the kids (2.99 a go though) all good for a little local pub 👍

Carvery always a solid consistent choice of meal

We hadn't been in the fox for over 7 years since the loss of my husband and moving to Nottingham. Visiting family on April 27th 7 of was booked for 2.30pm our table was not ready but we were offered another table which suited our requirements. We couldn't fault the service or the food. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Having an elderly brother in law unable to walk much. Also, he had trouble with cutting his meat, and the chef cut it for him. Amazing service. We would certainly visit the fox again when we visit Birmingham again in the future. Thank you so much. You went beyond the call of duty thank you again.

Great food as always, and good customer service

Brought mum out for Sunday lunch everything was perfect. The food counters and tables are kept very clean and tidy. Everything tasted really good and ALL the staff were professional and friendly - nothing was too much trouble (helped carry my tray and brought coffees to our table) Highly recommend - we will be back. Thank you all l for a lovely afternoon.

More veg options should be included in carvery Josh was very attentive

I used to go there week in and week out . I used to love the buffet breakfast then stopped because I HAD to pay a pound 💷 extra for 5 mushrooms..then I been advised they included in fab breakfast..went today 29th April 10:20 .. what an un attractive display .. bacon 🥓 you could snap..need a bolster chisel for the fried bread ..carbonised sausages..whole lot a total mess ..and guess what ..no mushrooms..duty manager gave full refund so he did what he could..overall very disappointing 😞 Again

Went for Sunday lunch and had the veggie option on the carvery. Very tasty and good value. All staff were very friendly and helpful, , in particular the carvery chef and our server Josh.

Josh was very polite and asked if our food was ok … he was smartly dressed pleasure to talk to

Visited today,nice surroundings chose the carvery,so so nice meat melted in your mouth lovely veg.Decided to have a dessert chose Apple pie which came with custard but i wanted ice cream i was told i could have ice cream but it would cost me extra,i have never had to pay anymore before at other restaurants,when it came it was like eating cornish ice cream it was delicious,the apple pie was very nice too.The only thing was it was the tiniest bit of ice cream i have ever seen,think the custard would have cost more😁so don't why they charge extra.🤔 That said,i really did enjoy everything.The staff were also very nice & very helpful too.

Haven’t had a carvery here for a few years now. But today wasn’t great. The server couldn’t have cut the meat any thinner. Veg was dry and roasters were over cooked and had been standing for to long making them hard. Had a point of Carlin it was flat by the time I got it to the table. Won’t be back

My granddaughter left her teeth retainers in a napkin after eating breakfast at the fox.after leaving 4 hours later realizing she phoned the pub and the manager sifted through the dirty napkins and found them.Brilliant.

Great place cheap breakfast £7.49 tea extra cost, would be great if the offered fruit juice in with the price and tea or coffee, a choice of eggs not just fried as they always look slimmy scrambled eggs would have been great, black pudding tasteless

Food was great the fish, burgers and pizzas were cooked to perfection, served by adele and Aaron great service as usual and the chefs, ginge, Tom and Peter were polite and presented the food really well and it tasted amazing 👏

The food was excellent, the veg nicely cooked and the choices of the meat wow and it is nice and tender. The food is to die for and the place is nice and clean, even the staff are nice and friendly.

A Touch of Childhood Nostalgia It’s been over eight years since my family and I last visited The Fox Carvery in Sutton, and it brought back so many memories. My sister and I were genuinely impressed by how stunning the interior looks—it's even more beautiful than we remembered. The carvery was absolutely delicious and well worth the Sunday treat. A big thank you to Chris for his warm hospitality, friendly smile, and attentive service throughout our visit. We’ll definitely be returning soon!

What a gem of a place. Best carvery I’ve had in ages. 3 adults and the dog was allowed in the bar area. Staff were all really helpful and very pleasant, they must enjoy working there by the smiles and laughter. I will definitely be back in next time I’m in Walmley all be it nearly 200miles from home. With the app and scan code it wasn’t even £10 each including drinks absolute bargain.

Collected 2 meals for takeaway. Fast service, very helpful.

Saffron catered to such a large booking and kept her cool really well, despite any issues with food she helped to resolve them swiftly. She deserves every tip she gets working here! The food was also great- I ordered a margarita pizza and you could tell it was prepared fresh.

I had a great experience at this restaurant! The food was delicious—BBQ wings, garlic flat bread, and fries were all cooked perfectly. The flavors were on point, and everything was fresh and satisfying. What really stood out was the excellent customer service, especially from Saffron. They were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make the experience great. I was so impressed that I even found the manager to personally praise Saffron’s outstanding service. I’ll definitely be coming back! Highly recommend

New Review We visited the Fox Walmley yesterday, 20th March, for our family birthdays. We decided to go here because of the variety in menu choices. We choose from the 3 courses for £14.79 and 2 courses for around £13.00 very good value. I received an email to have 1 free mains with other meals ordered as a birthday treat. We were served by Emily, who was a great help when ordering and sorting out the free meal. Husband and I had the carveys with desserts, and my son had the fish & chips starter crispy chicken, then 2 scoop strawberry sundae 🍨. The meals were delicious, very good portion sizes. The carvey meat was tender and nicely cooked with veg and gravy. We had Apple pie & custard and Choc brownie and Ice cream once again desserts were delightful. We throughly enjoyed our visit to the Fox and will be back in the next few months. We meet friends for my hubby birthday today 16th April. We all had the carvery. It was one of the best carveys we have had. We good portions of meat served the gammon turkey and Beef was cooked perfectly tender and soft ,we as much vegetables as we wanted. We were served by Andrew who was very attentive to us. He recommended the waffle sundae 🍨 which was lovely. My husbands came with a candle to blow out. We came from Kidderminster for my sister's birthday meal and the food was amazing the staff was incredible. I think we may venture over to you guys more for a carvery as nothing as nice as what you guys served in Kidderminster

I had a carvery delivery and I could not fault a thing. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Also appreciated the little card with hand written "Enjoy your meal" and a smiley face.

Excellent food, as always. We were served by Josh & the carver was Dave, who both excelled with their customer service.

Breakfast isn't great near the end of the serving time, so I would recommend getting their earlier to get a better selection.

Really good value for money. Christ who served us, very friendly and great guy. We would highly recommend this to friends and family.Will be going again. Loved the choices of deserts. Really good.

My daughter & I go every week for breakfast & love it, but why do they have to water the baked beans so much. It alters the flavour so much. Are tins of beans that expensive?

The roast/carvary looked delicious & tasted just as good as far as the ladies in our group said....Unfortunately the same couldn't be said for the double burger meal that a few of the rest of our group had..Very, VERY bland & also didn't taste like beef whatsoever.... All in all a very expensive birthday meal that fell flat & was very disappointing to the point that we didn't bother with dessert & left a few minutes after finishing the meal..

Appalling service waited 45mins, only to ask staff where our food was and she came back to say the girl who took our order, did not send our order request to the kitchen, by the time the food had come my appetite had gone and the food lacked flavour and fish was dry as HELL...I mean dry would not recommend unless you want to be drinking like a fish from dry mouth.and incompetent staff who don't understand their Job.

Service was pretty non-existent, except the guy behind the carvery counter he, bless him was rushed off his feet, but offered such great service. The carvery was worth the trip.

Not a good experience at all, not one waiter bothered to come to our table, even after 20 mins. I understand the automatic order system with the phone, which I did, but it's just decent customer service to come to the table and ask how we are going to order. My two guests ordered a carvery which they were happy with, but I waited 40 mins for a fish and chips that was awful. The fish was flat small and like it had been sitting there for days, it didn't even taste like fish. Wish I had taken a photo Lol. Customer service from the waiters and fish and chips especially the fish and chips was the worseI have ever experienced.

Staff were okay, but it felt very sterile. Food was also okay. I'd not choose to visit again, but if I was invited as part of a group, I would go, as everything was okay. Oh, you have to take your own drinks.

Lorna was lovely. Knocked down a star on service as she wouldn't sit and play UNO with the family. I think management should consider UNO breaks for staff. (However, Lorna can keep the service star as it's not her fault 🙂)

Affordable pub to host a kids 'make your own pizza's birthday party, and much nicer experience for their parents to be able to relax at a nearby table with a drink and food of their own rather than at a softplay. Food was quite good quality, kind and patient servers, plenty of space between tables, and the kids all look gorgeous with their chef hats, rolling pins. Plenty of parking - don't forget to validate your car registration on the way in or out.

Food was delicious, just what was needed on a miserable afternoon. Staff were great as always. Josh was more than happy to help,took our desert order for us even though was a busy Sunday. We are becoming regulars now so will definitely be back.

Halloumi fries were overcooked Cheese and bacon burger requested without lettuce and onion came with both - staff did offer to cook again but cba The burge meat was cheap grisley and tastes vile didnt eat it. Pudding the brownie was nice, chocolate cake tastes old dry came.out cold, sent it back.
