Called in for Sunday dinner Lovely Sunday lunch great choice and Rebecca brought our drinks and took payment lovely girl really helpful great service.

Was lovely chilled lunch. We were greted by kieran. Such a lovely funny lad. As mum and I are veggie he went and got us set up at the carvery giving us our plates and letting us pic our Yorkshire. Thank you kieran.

Unreal food, everything was hot and the chef was so lovely and welcoming

Would like to remain as positive as possible 😊, but I only made it less than 100 yds from Toby Carvery - Carlisle and brought my entire breakfast back up in a field, did comment on the first batch of plum tomatoes having a burnt taste! Would like to reassure everyone probably just a 1 off? Staff n services were on point as usual 👌also unlimited breakfast so did visit x2

I updated my review. We arrived and paid for kingsize portions but weren't allowed a takeaway box. We were told some folk were going back for seconds and boxing it (we didn't, the family member was autistic and just wanted to eat at home as the place was loud and busy being a sunday). The bill was £85 quid and I think your staff members should be able to use some discretion when it comes to obvious disabilities.. you could have spared a box... Edit: that reply...

13.00 Friday 7th February 2025 visited with my daughter for lunch. Not been for a good Year or more as wasn't great then. Went to one in Middlesbrough recently really good so thought we would give carlisle ago as local. Will not return food barely look warm, stuffing was a dish of dried crumbs not edible. Peas dried bullets, surely staff can see these things & should take care of it. It wasn't busy alarm bells should have rang. 2 other seperate people complained about temperature of food & had it microwaved. The staff member then got a temperature probe & tested the vegetables. A fresh tray of roast potatoes was brought out & even those where cold a lady said. The staff member wasn't overly concerned about the lady who complained, she went to another member of staff & mimicked the ladies complaint. Staff need to be aware we customers pay good money & deserve to be treat with respect. No customer no job, if you don't like your job leave. Standards very poor compared to other restaurants

I regularly visit this Toby Carvery and over the past few years the food has been getting steadily worse. I think this visit will likely be my last. The choice of vegetables to go with the Carvery is abysmal and the quality is something that I'd throw away if at home, the dehydrated stuffing is rotten and the Mac and cheese is like rubber. I'm not sure if the lump of fat they call beef is from a different supplier or maybe just costs less but whatever they pay for it is too much. They've also managed to make the service considerably worse by sticking some big fat guy with an attitude problem on the meat cutting, I could swear there were teeth marks in my meat.

I was in Toby carvery yesterday 2nd February, was amazing the food was excellent an staff were so friendly. Member of staff called Donna went above an beyond for my family to make sure we were happy. Will definitely bring my family back an visit again.

Friendly service at the bar .. Waitresses could smile (looked fed up) As much food as you like on buffet .. Not much options for a vegetarian(vegetables). For the price of the buffet,it's worth a trip .. Have been other times ,but this time, it was for breakfast ..

Nice food relaxed surroundings good parking facilities, only thing to note is the bar/restaurant is looking a bit tired now and could do with revamp!

Very good food and service. We. Took advantage of the 50% off deal and had a excellent carvery. I have only one issue ant it is I prefer dark meat to Turkey breast and it would be wonderful if you could have a choice of turkey drumsticks. I have heard they are thrown away which is upsetting in the present time. Still very good

Our experience with Toby Carvery Carlisle was highly positive. This was our first time since covid. We got the booth table which we wanted. It was not busy when we arrived, but got busier when we left.

The service was fantastic. Staff are friendly, helpful and care about the customer's experience. I had booked lunch for 2 for 12pm, we were shown to a table as soon as we arrived. We ordered drinks on being seated, went to the carvery deck for our lunch and our drinks were on the table by the time we returned with the food. The choice of veg was good for allergy sufferers. The carvery and veg were delicious, as was the sage stuffing. Toby is clean and welcoming. Parking is good, you enter your car reg on entering the restaurant. I would highly recommend Toby Carlisle.

Needs a major refurbishment, tables , chairs and carpets all in terrible condition.

One of the best roast beef dinners we've had! The beef was tender and it was all fresh and tasty :)

The food was fine etc, but the customer service even better, my brother lost his phone and we live 45 miles away and weren’t going back through there for a while and they have actually paid for postage and it arrived safely today. I can’t thank you guys enough (for my brother) lol! The staff were fantastic and went above and beyond for us. Thank you very much.

Thank you to the staff who provided food when we arrived late for breakfast. Their efforts were appreciated. We had experienced problems getting some breakfast in the area near the football stadium with staff at other outlets moaning about it being a football day. One cafe didn’t do breakfast and a very popular hotel chain moaned about not having a reservation without checking or confirming their booking list. Thank you Toni staff

I travel around quite a bit and must have visited at least a dozen Toby Carveries and this was the best food I've ever had! Toby’s can be a bit hit and miss in my opinion but this was awesome. Mark, Micheala and Aaron were professional and exemplary!! We’ll be back! 👍👍

Been to plenty of Toby's throughout the UK and this was a bit of a let down. Dirty, slow service and mediocre food at best.

Went for Sunday lunch, good selection of meats and veg. A really nice Sunday lunch with the family.

I booked for New Year’s Day with my family. When we arrived the host was rude. We ordered drinks to the table and they didn’t arrive for some time. The Yorkshire puddings were not warm and the sausages had been sitting. The vegetarian gravy was disgusting. My daughter left most of her meal due to this. We did not bother to complain as the host had already been rude when we arrived. Usually we have a good experience here but the poor quality of food, and poor attitude of staff spoiled our evening.

It was great to be given the kingsize plates for our Christmas dinner. Turkey was very tasty, cauliflower cheese excellent as to were the roast potatoes. No Christmas vibe in the place though. Plain white cheap paper cloth on table & bits of cutlery. No Christmas feel when you sat down, which for booking for Christmas Day was a huge letdown. No crackers, full cutlery set on our places, felt very lacklustre. Most of the veg didn’t look as fresh, which is a shame, it’s a shame they put sprouts with the red cabbage, as there was already a sprout dish there, also none of the condiments, cranberry sauce, mint sauce, etc were replenished. Just empty bowls left there. The prawn cocktail starter was dire, a tiny bit of smoked salmon with a few prawns laid flat on a side plate with watery Marie Rose sauce. The soup was served in small tapas type dishes, so that portion size was a little disappointing too. The puddings were all great though, great size and everyone happy with their choices. The preorder Prosecco with gin and lemonade was not worth the cost and having one beer to choose from to preorder, was a shame.

Your abilities, customer service , your creativity is out of this world.

Was down Carlisle for the day with the family and we fancied a roast, Toby Carvery came in close by so we went in, fantastic food and service!

Haven't been in for over a decade but it was just as good as I remembered. Lovely lady at food service, meat cooked beautifully and the pudding (billionaires bar) was super. It's not worth cooking it yourself at those prices and I doubt you will find better roast potatoes. Good amount of parking so even if it's busy I suspect a space will be available. Will be coming back for sure

We came to have breakfast and visit Santa and what a lovely relaxed magical experience such good value for money everything was carried out with great detail highly recommended I will be booking every year now!

Order never arrived. If there are no JustEat delivery drivers available then the restaurant should take the due diligence of contacting the customer directly informing them that they will have to cancel the order instead of making them wait unecessarily. They do not answer the phone too. Extremely poor communication.

Took my granddaughter for breakfast with santa on the 21st December booked for 10.50am at the carlisle toby cavery. Arrived on time but no table was ready? we were seated at a dirty table which was then wiped over but napkins and cutlery still on the floor! Breakfast was very poor hardly nothing left had to ask for more food to be cooked! Had 1 coffee of my refillable coffee went for another and the pot had gone? Had to ask for a highchair as was not offered one? and was told to get one myself which I didn't mind but overheard them ask another customer that came in after me if they'd like a highchair? Was made to feel like they had a problem with us? Very unorganised and not very friendly atmosphere. Very disappointed 😞 The santa however was fantastic just a shame the rest ruined a nice day out with my granddaughter.

Toby Carvery themselves, invited us, a local school supporting disadvantaged young people for a Christmas breakfast. The venue, food and especially the staff could not have been more welcoming, friendly and helpful. We can not thank them enough for what they have done for our young people and the smiles they have put on their faces.

Went today, with my 5 year old, for Breakfast With Santa. The breakfast was as good as expected; the staff were friendly, as usual; and Santa, what can I say? Amazing! He was attentive, jolly and excited. Santa really had presence. My 5 year old was so excited and happy, Santa was encouraging and pleased to be there and interacting. It was not the usual "in and out" that you get elsewhere. Very happy 5 year old, very happy mummy. Thank you and Merry Christmas, Toby's!

Kyle our server was really helpful and attentive, nothing was a problem for him and he kept our little girl happy by including her in all conversations

Kieran and Jax and the team are fantastic. Every time we visit the Carlisle restaurant they make us so welcome and they remember us every time and the make sure that they give us the best service they can . The staff make your visit enjoyable. They work hard in making sure everyone even at busy times are enjoying their meal . I always have a toby on visiting Carlisle because we aren't lucky enough to have a local one

We enjoyed a delicious meal at Toby Carvery. The roast ham, especially with the pigs in blankets, was a standout. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the Yorkshire pudding was fluffy and perfect. A great choice for a hearty meal.

Exceptional service and food! Perfect hot chocolate (better than I make myself!) and lovely warm atmosphere! The hunters turkey and gammon yorkie wrap is the best thing I’ve tasted! Miserable and rude staff lemonade tasted moldy food was cold menu was disgusting we had to use hand sanitiser after touching a filthy menu and we mentioned the lemonade tasted funny we were told off the barmaid it was probably off yak won't ever go back
