A good Wetherspoon's with a fine selection of local real ales. The food is typical Wetherspoon's fare, basic but decent and it was served hot and without much delay so no complaints at all. This Wetherspoon's actually has toilets on the ground floor too!

After the William Rufus, also Spoons, we thought we'd try this place as first time visitors to Carlisle. Here we sat out in the sunshine at the back. Early Saturday afternoon and despite the extensive 'beer garden', few tables available. Plumped for the great Old Speckled Hen and it was a lovely pint. Only quibble would be the wait time at the bar. The staff per customer ratio was incredibly low.

I came earlier this evening for some food and a paint before my train the bar was quite busy but as I got to the bar I was met by a tall kind eyed bar man who didn't rush me and was calming didn't mind guiding me threw the vegan options and even talked to me about the fine ales on draft at no point did he try get me hurry up even tho there was a question forming behind me. I hope the pub know how lucky they are to have this tall handsome kind eyed hunk behind the bar.

Standard 'spoons, does what it says on the tin. Good location in the town centre, with a sister pub just up the road. The usual wide selection of food, and doesn't seem to take long for a table to become free. We wandered in on a busy summer Saturday afternoon and got a table straight away. There's parking just over the road if needed, with multiple paid locations nearby. Food was slightly less on par than we have come to expect on that day, with both our pizza bases and toppings very thin, and the cardboard-like base was crispy and overcooked, much like the poppadoms we ordered. Just didn't represent the value we've come to expect in Wetherspoons.

After all the carnage and liver abuse at a mate’s wedding and missing breakfast at the hotel through sleeping in, it was time for a bit of good old ‘Spoons aided recovery, thankfully the Woodrow Wilson was just a short walk down Botchergate, Carlisle. Staff were genuinely polite and cheery, service great, the bar itself really nice for a Wetherspoons, that legendary myth about the toilets always being a mission to find and a hike to reach, all but fibs here. I ordered two mix grills to have on one plate and on this occasion struggled since I was hanging from the night before, but the food quality was spot on, I washed it down with five cappuccinos, my mate laughed that his order looked like a kid’s meal in comparison. Couldn’t fault the Woodrow Wilson at all, happily recommended, full marks guys! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We came with friends and family to have dinner and some drinks. The Pub is classed as family friendly. We were sat outside and the kids were playing nicely. The manager told us the children were not allowed to play and had to remain seated while sat outside in the sun. The Pub should not be classed as family friendly if the children can't play. The children were supervised by 5 adults to 3 children. When we asked if the children were allowed to play round the table we were sat on the manager was rather rude and said it's a beer garden not a playground. The kids were not causing any trouble. I feel he could of delt with the situation differently and was rather rude. We will not be back for a family meal. THIS IS NOT A FAMILY FRIENDLY PUB. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND WITH SMALL CHILDREN

While working up this way I called in here at approx 7.30pm for some tea with my 18 year old son and work colleague after finishing work. We ordered our food which was spot on, Myself and my work colleague were enjoying a couple of pints after eating, my son doesn’t drink alcohol and was having a Pepsi, it was after 9.30pm now when a young female bar staff member who didn’t looked like she was still at school came over an asked my son for ID to prove he was 18 while sat drinking his Pepsi! He didn’t have any ID on him and neither did I for that matter, I told her he was 18 but said he had would have to leave! The pub was nearly empty as it was. My son is 18, over six foot and doesn’t drink alcohol. So we finished our pints and went on to another bar without stupid silly rules and young girls on an ego trip, Certainly won’t be using this eatery when working up this way in the future!

And so, on a blustery Saturday afternoon we venture into the 28th President of the good old US of A. A Nobel peace prize winning leader who led his country at the outbreak of World War 1, the Great War. Which is ironically what it’s like trying to get served in the Woodrow at 3PM on a Saturday. Getting to the bar took a two pronged attack, with wingman approaching from the east flank giving cover to the nose attack taking on the central ground. It was hard going, particularly for two cokes and a packet of McCoys. But we got there unwounded and with pride relatively intact.

Come up to see friends and we decided to meet at this Wetherspoons bar. Was all going ok then I noticed on the first night a lot of people (especially older) complaining that their heads on their beers were huge but would not complain. Me and my partner had ordered on several occasions a shipyard. And every single pint had a massive head of froth. Eventually we asked that Shipyard was allowed to settle before completing pour. On returning the next day to see our friends off we ordered another round and the heads on the beer were huge. I asked on several occasions to let it settle and shipyard is like Guinness you have to let it settle for a good pint. It is not rocket science but just lazy After being refused to top up the pint from the shift leader whose knowledge of good hospitality seems very poor I asked for a refund. Also they might not pour the beer refunds down the sink but wait to server to the next customer. We were personally served two pints which were all ready poured and served from below the counter. Eventually we left with beer wasted for a refund rather than a top up. Said final pint along with Brewers association guidelines shown below. (Pa shift supervisor was advised picture was being taken before refund requested) The British Beer & Pub Association guidelines state. ‘ 3. Request from customers for top-up should be received with Grace and never refused, subject to avoiding spillage of liquid.’ But obviously do not apply here.

It appeared busy for a Monday lunchtime with a number of groups of people having a good catch-up. All the facilities were downstairs, including the accessible toilet. Accessible entrance. There was an outside space to the rear for the brave. It was a tad chilly today. You can order on the app if you want your meal exactly as on the menu. If not, order at the bar, and don't forget to take a quick pick of the table number. The expected cheap and basic Wetherspoons food, but our Cheese and Bacon Loaded Chips were such a disappoint. Normally come here for dinner thought we would try coming in for the bottomless breakfast and all I can say is I was very dissapointed never again, no bacon, cold sausages, luke warm baked beans, hash browns solid could break a window with one, eggs looked mouldy when asked we were told it was the coating on the pan the "chef" behind the counter had a big attitude problem towards my family when we asked for some white bread for toast and if there would be any more bacon I don't know what the problem was but we certainly will not be back any time soon.
