Ordered a delivery. Pros: meat was great. Cheesecake was great. Cons: Yorkshire pudding was like hard foam, roast potatoes not cooked through, vegetables and mash very bland, chocolate brownie very small portion without the stated fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Overall they went for quantity over quality as there was far too much food. Halfpenny Farm it is from now on.

Meg was extremely kind and helpful and made the experience fun. Food was warm and tasty and it was a really good trip

Booked on line for 8 people. On arrival said that ovens are broke only have gammon. To late to book anywhere else.food well below standard .vegetables all dried up.no water in vegetable dishes to keep them moist food warm .for desert no custard. I have been before and said would not go again but unfortunately was booked by another family friend.toby carvery not holding up to there expectations. I went with my family to Toby carvery , Burnt Tree Island,Tipton to celebrate my birthday. We proceeded with the carvery, three adults upgraded their plates for the extra £1.99 as stated. My grandaughter had the smaller plate the small as myself and daughter in law. When collecting my grandsons lunch I asked for a small plate where I was given a plastic plate with sides on, perfect for my grandson I thought. I had my own plate and my grandchildren dsons so I waited for the meat and began to walk to collect vegetables etc to see there was no meat on my grandsons plate. I asked the carvery seller for a slice of meat and received a rather rude response. He said in a nasty voice you done get any meat on the children's plate. I didn't think I had heard correctly and asked him to repeat himself,again he said the same thing you dont get any meat with that plate only this time he was far nastier. Not wanting to cause a scene in the queue as it was Sunday after ion and very busy I continued to the vegetables. When I got back to the table a d explained that my gra dson couldn't have any neat 3 of us all put a slice of meat on his plate that I cut up for him. I dnt knw where they get the notion little ones dont eat meat from because my grandson has been eating meat since being weaned. Most toddlers don't eat many vegetables and are fussy eaters but surely nit allowing them to have any meat reduces their chance to try out different foods. My grandson eats all of his vegetables including sprouts and all meat as it has been readily available to him so we expected a Sunday lunch like the one he has at home not a forced vegetarian lunch. I was goin to say next time I will know to order an ordinary plate for him that would have a slice of meat on for him but I very much doubt there will be a next time as I usually cook for us. I spent just over £80 on food for everyone and in the grand scheme of things I don't think one slice of meat would have damaged Toby profits in the slightest. In todays climate people may well be cutting back on eating out or if they continue to eat out they at least want food that will enable them not to have to cook when they return home, this includes hearty filling dinners for toddlers.

We visited this place recently. Food was acceptable with some items from the carvery deck inedible. Roast potatoes like rocks. Chef was extremely rude and talks about customers where customers can clearly here what he’s saying and the manager had an absolutely disgusting attitude. Not professional at all, bordering aggressive towards people. Toilets are disgusting . Never any soap and chefs use these toilets… but how do they wash their hands??? They are often seen smoking outside the kitchen area on the car park. Very dreary inside and needs a makeover as well as better less aggressive management and more pleasant staff that aren’t afraid to smile once in a while.

Just stopped for breakfast, we ended up getting a refund and leaving. Hardly any food cooked the hash brown looked uncooked, as did the sausages. No eggs, no mushrooms, when we asked for scrambled eggs, we were meet with contempt for asking for something. The food area was not very clean. When my partner mentioned to the chef that there was hardly any food out he replied.we are going as fast as we f**king can. We were really shocked, so at this point decided to leave.

Was welcome by staff memeber and was shown to our table, who later buggered off for her lunch thats what I was told when me and my family were waiting to order drinks and I had to ask at the bar for service etc, Son of 9 order a kids meal chicken burger(thats what it stated) and staff came back with a bun with five ctiny chicken nuggets in it.. so oviously it was returned so son ordered the meat balls and they had none in..whem we went up to the carvery the chef took soooo long trying his very best to carve the most thinest slices of meat that when he carved they were coming off in scraps it was embrassing to be treated this way and wacthing it, I asked how on earth do you except this has satisfactory customer service in give these milimetre scrapers to save your meat by the way in which i have have made for, he had no words just to reply we have supposed to give this amount, disgusting!!! they had no desserts left no ice cream left.. it was awful , i could see the stafff looking hat our table and laughing, immature little girls. a wast of my hard earned money and put a damper on the whole first experience. no manger can just reply by saying apologies. not good enough.

The chef informed me that the roast beef was contaminated with beef dripping that contained gluten so that was off the menu .I later checked the only way that the dripping was contaminated was if they had used the dripping fat to cook other foods containing gluten like batter and bread crumbs.

Food was plentiful with a good price was staying just down the road, staff were attentive, wasn’t the biggest car park and tight to fit in.

Took friends of ours not eaten in this toby for a long time.we did not know what was on menu.we all ordered carvery really good.waitress brilliant been there since 16 years of age.youngish guy on carvery friendly but some of other staff need to smile.keep up better standards on carvery it will bring people back.

We were welcomed by a friendly woman who showed us to our table of six with space for a pushchair. Being bank holiday Monday I booked 2 weeks in advance. There is sanatizer at the door for you to use, & they ask you to social distance whilst queuing. Hannah our server was wonderful, so friendly & helpful. The changes are you queue as usual, but the chefs serve you everything. I must say I was dissapointed with the food the chefs made you feel as if they didn't care & really didn't want to be there. A smile goes a long way guys. Mash was slapped on plate, they ask what veg & if you'd like gravy I asked for a little gravy my plate was swimming another of our group asked for mint sauce again the chef pour loads all over his dinner. They had run out of most sauces for ice-cream except strawberry. No sponge puddings in fact. I understand its bank holiday afternoon but you should have at least the basics. I think I'll try another Toby rather than return.

My friend and I went to this place for breakfast on the 14/3/2020. It was absolutely disgusting. There was hardly any food. There were no eggs, no hash browns. The bacon was still grunting it was barely cooked. When the so called chef came out I asked him if there was anymore food coming out his reply was NO, what do you want. His attitude was out of order. The first to plates my friend picked up had got dried egg on them. I am a cook in a hotel so I was disgusted. Needless to say we had a refund and would not recommend anyone to eat there.

served by annie today.. food was cold, drinks was warm, Yorkshire was tougher than a dumplin. if i wanted a cold dinner than i would of had salad from home

Friday lunch time treat and that’s exactly what it was. Shown to a table straight away good was amazing and all cooked to perfection with a great selection. Decided to have a pud but was unable to eat due to the portion size of my Carvery but the cake was the ginger sponge which smelt amazing. By the time we left the restaurant was full Would recommend a visit and will be back soon

Ordered a Yorkshire pudding wrap with a side of roast potatoes. The Yorkie it came it was soggy, flaky and really eggy, not nice at all. There were 2 thin slices of pork overpowered with huge chunks of stuffing. I couldn’t stomach the yorkie so instead just pulled out the pork. The potatoes tasted really weird also, apparently it was beef dripping but it didn’t taste like it to me! My other half had a standard carvery and left most of it, with the yorkie being overly greasy and crispy. Decided to have a dessert, special house sponge was ginger so gave it a try. It wasn’t good. Came out like warm with custard that was flavourless. Overpriced for the standards. Although the staff were lovely.

Called into the Toby Carvery this morning for breakfast.Paid £7.25 for brekkie and a make it yourself cup of tea.The tea was nice!It was a self service brekkie.I can honestly say it was the worst brekkie I've ever had..Burnt sausage, burnt bacon, shattered when I tried to cut it.Mushrooms that were so well cooked they were solid and baked beans that were very runny, like Tesco own brand from years ago.There was a mixed potato thing too, but I couldn't tell you what was in it other than potato over all a pretty awful meal... I wouldn't go there again if they offered me free meals for a year.STAY CLEAR........

Went for a carvery on a Saturday. Was told to sit in the bar and wait for a table. We got some drinks and waited. We waited and waited and waited. After 2 hours and continuously asking how long we then got told the ovens were broken and no more meat is being cooked. We got told very abruptly without any sorry being told. Absolutely disgusting. Definitely do not recommend. First and last time ever going here.

Where to begin arrived left standing there waiting to be seen to our sever was a lovely girl meal was rancid 3 very thin pieces of turkey my sister had beef she was told by the bloke serving it he said beef was fatty yorkies were cold potatoes were freezing cold no mac n cheese there was a dish with leeks in it potatoes in it where rock hard peas n cabbage where dried up no cheese on the cauliflower cheese best thing about the meal was leaving the place absoloute vile place good job it was 40 percent of if we had paid full price id of wanted a refund

My wife and I used to go weekly, but have given up. Visit by visit the meat portions got smaller and smaller. The servers were obviously not trained and did not know how to carve a slice of meat. On the last visit the scraps of meat were literally dragged over the counters to the plate. When I complained all I got was a shrug. No more.

Thought the dinner was not all a let down the meat could be better on the two occasions we have been the roast beef was hard to chew bit rubbery and thinly sliced.

Staff were unattenttive on first and subsequent visits. Did not feel welcome. Staff didn't listen to customer orders. Not good service which is important for me. Sorry

Whilst visiting for a business breakfast, the plates were dirty and had a residue on them.

Arrived 9am for a hearty breakfast. Upon arrival a very smiley lady behind the till immediately greeted us with "good morning cash or card?". Cheerily said cash please. "Oh we can't take cash there are no tills". Shocked and stunned at a public house with no tills I informed the lady I would be leaving a review on trip advisor and taking my business elsewhere. Can't say anymore than that.

We have been to Toby many time but the his was the worst we ever had , food was cold roast potatoes were rock hard not many staff on , prices have gone up don't think we will be going back again

Rang the Toby a week before to book a table and the guy on the phone was very helpful. Sent a text to confirm the booking and all sorted for 2:00pm the following Sunday.

Haven’t been here since the refurbishment. Nicely decorated and clean. Choice of 4 meats and plenty of vegetables. All the food was very tasty. Ordered desserts which we really shouldn’t have as we were so full. Definitely recommend the millionaire chocolate brownie with ice cream.

Hungry then this is a must stop place the staff are lovely and serve with a smile and the food is very good. A good range of meat and veg and when I noiticed the cabbage looked dryed up they went and changed it stright away so there was fresh for me. Will come again with out doubt

Arrived late Saturday afternoon after a busy day shopping and was greated by a friendly smile and was asked if we were dining to which we replied yes table for two. We were shown to a table at the front of the restaurant with a view outside. She took our drinks order and told us to go up when we were ready. They food looked lovely and hot and very inviting, I had a regular plate and my girlfriend had a large on, the meat was hot and plentiful. The veg was just replenished and fresh looking and steaming hot. Overall the food was delicious and our waitress kept popping by to make sure all was ok and if we needed anything. Price was reasonable and food great. Deffo recommend

Been to a number of Toby carvarys but this one had lots going for it. There was plenty of parking spaces. Also there was ample space around the tables in this newly refurbished Toby. But it was the Food that marks this place out. The was large selection of meat and each joint was succulent.There was also a very wide range of vegetables (from spinach to runner beans:-). Will go again when next visiting my folks.

My family recently visited here on a Sunday, we booked and it was very busy, but we had to wait 40 minutes after our reservation wasn't happy as had 3 young children with me and my husband

Staff smart and dressed smart. Venue generally clean and tidey. Menu is average for a carvery. Bar clean staff helpful with drinks, prices average. The Carvery was set up well with a good selection of meats and vegetables, as normal the gravey was very nice.

Have to praise our waitress Bernie, we was at table 2 she is amazing, very friendly, attentive, excellent worker and looked after us very well. Food was lovely and we have come numbers of times .

Took my family here expected it to be nice due to the new referb , the three of us had the carvery the meat was nice but the veg well it was bland and rock hard we ordered pasta for my daughter which took 35 minutes to come , which was taken off the the bill but she’s 4 and we had all finished by the time her meal had come I was disappointed which the quality of the carvery due to the fact that there are a few places open in Dudley now we won’t be returning here as we left disappointed.

Just renovated. No space to queue for carvery with a snake of customers blocking staff and customer access. Constantly obstructing customers and staff while waiting. Was encouraged to use an app to pay by notice on table. It would not work and no-one could assist. Asked if could complain and was refused. Ruined meal. We used to be regular customers here but this does not encourage a return visit.

Booked in advance for a family birthday meal, no booking in the system when we turned up. Too busy to get us in. If I could rate it any lower than one star, I would.

Went this morning with my friend for breakfast and caught a taxi there especially only to be told by the lady that they've stop serving breakfast and to try somewhere else in Castle View. The restaurant was only 5% occupied and the lady was eating her own breakfast and I suppose didn't want to be disturbed. Their website says breakfast served until 11 a.m. and I have been before but this is the last time I will ever visit there again the breakfast or any other type of meal. We are both professional people but this kind of customer service is appalling and does nothing for the image of Toby Carveries.

I have been there for lunch on a week day. The food I have been told is quite typical and to be fair I loved it. People are nice and helpful and also the price is very good compared to what you get. Recommended!

We came here for breakfast on our way to the Black Country Living Museum. It was fairly early for a Saturday morning, around 9.15am so it wasn't too busy. It began to pick up after 10am as we were leaving. I had the veggie breakfast...

Very nice place whit a good selection of roasts, the place was keept tidy and there was a good seating area. All in all a restaurant I would go back too.

We had been shopping and called in to have a snack,ended up having a carvery and dessert it looked so good and was not disappointed

Decided to go here for lunch with my friend as it had always been lovely in the past. Haven't been for around 18 months and it's not the same stardard it used to be. I had turkey and it was nice but very small portion. Choice of vegetables was poor. Roasts or slices potatoes in sauce but no plain boiled potatoes. Broccoli, carrots and peas dried out, sweet corn and cauli cheese ok. Plates not very warm so food went cold very quickly. My friend ordered half a lager and I a Diet Pepsi which I was told I could refil, fair enough. What I wasn't expecting was my firend to get her drink and me to receive an empty glass and to be pointed in the direction of a refil point. Would it really have been so difficult to have given me a filled glass in the first instance and for me to refil if required? The decor is looking very tired and to be honest given the amount of restaurants in the vicinity this place needs to up it's game and would do wise to visit other carverys in the local area to see the standard they are completing with. On the upside the staff were friendly.

my partner and I went in on our way home from a hospital appointment, as we were very hungry, but as we parked up and walked trough the outside we were very unimpressed the paint on the windows was flaking off the furniture look shabby and tired and it got worse as we entered the place itself , the carpet, the decorating almost every we're we looked was discussing , the waitress was so polite and friendly her name was Berne and have to say the food was ok. I had to us the restroom before I left (wish I hadent) they were so discussing I wish I had waited to get home ,so shocked what has happened to the place , we have not been in there for about three years , but never again such a shame Paul x Jenny Upset customers sad

Waiting staff friendly and pleasant ,slow service at carvery . food was nice but gosh the place was a mega tip and needed a big spruce decor wise.

Met up with friends for breakfast as had previously been before and enjoyed ourselves, however this time was glad we had good company as definitely made up for the food. Had to go through numerous plates before finding clean ones (even these we had to wipe dry), the food was definitely lacking in quality and heat, the scrambled egg was all dried out, not very pleasant, even the coffee was lukewarm. In previous visits have really enjoyed our visits and good food, so was shocked/surprised how downhill it had all become, hence will be our last visit, as plenty of other good places to eat a great breakfast.

Staff a tentative and helpful meat good even though every visit I have to ask for extra meat but its tasty and you can help your self to loads of vegetables and spuds, enjoyed but I think I shouldn't have to ask for more meat every time .

Two carvery meals, with two drinks for two hungry adults came to less than £18 all in.The waitress was fantastic, super efficient and mega friendly, would recommend this place to anyone either on a budget, or pressed for time, one of the best value for money meals I have had in a while....

Two friends and I visited here for a carvery and a catch up.The food was average. Meat very dry and veg not that much better. The staff were rushing around trying to look busy, dont know why, not many people in. Several uncalled for comments made by staff when we asked questions. The place could do with a make over and employ some staff who keep their comments to themselves.Been to a few Toby carvery's over the years and I would say this one is the worstNo rush to go back.....

You would think a carvery would be the last place you would be able to go if you have a vegetarian or vegan in your party but think again. Myself I am a vegetarian and my best friend is a vegan and we have been several times and have been very well looked after. You have to order your veggies to be steamed so there will be no butter on them and you're welcome to as many roasties as you like as they are vegan friendly too. In addition they have an awesome lentil pie that I highly recommend that comes with steamed veggies if you request them too. This place is great for families or groups of friends with veggies or vegans in the camp!

Popped in today as I was nearby and waiting to pick up my car after a service.The pub/restaurant is clean and is a pleasant environment. The meat choice was gammon turkey or beef and there were several vegetable choices to be had. Service was quick and friendly. The food was of a good standard and plentiful with as much Veg' as you want. All in all very well worth the £7.50 I paid for lunch with a soft drink.

A big high five from me..I allways liked this place I allways moan about there no being enough meat on the plate..but big supprise plenty of meat well done...big improvement...was a 9/10 for me...please try n keep it up.

I wish I could write a good review for this place, but unfortunately my recent experience was quite bad. Staff quite surly - not one was pleasant on the day we visited and we got the impression they really didn't want to be there and were not at all interested in customer relations. Took quite some time to place an order. We ordered carveries and two meals off the main menu. Waited so long for the main meals to arrive as we wanted to eat together - we had to find a waitress to ask what was going on. Told they were coming so for others to get their carvery meals - which we did. We had almost finished our carveries when the meals orderd off the main menu arrived. So we were not able to eat together after all!Not much meat given on carveries as the server was only cutting it in slithers so we did ask for another slice and were given one very small slice. Vegetables not very warm. Meals from main menu were far better value and although they had taken a long time to arrive they were very nice.Needless to say we will not be returning.

30 members of my family all met for a pre Christmas meal 3/12 .We were all sat together in a part of the restaurant set away from the rest of the people .Which we found lovely as we aren't the quietest bunch lol .We had the 13.49 adults 6.49 set 3 course Christmas Meal .The food was all beautiful all the starters and desserts all came out together that's not easy when there's a large group .A very enjoyable evening no complaints and excellent value you for money .Only negative was the 2.00 extra charge for 5 pigs in blankets surely they are a given on a Christmas meal ha ha ha .

We have been here for the buffet breakfast before and it has always been fine. This morning though I was disappointed. The potato hash and scrambled egg was dry as a bone, the fried eggs were swimming in grease and the bacon was fatty and barely cooked. The only things that I ended up eating were toast beans and sausages. I got the feeling that everything was thrown together with little effort.

Went on a Thursday tea time around 5pm. The place was virtually empty. No problem with sitting us down. We both had the carvery.I feel that you don't get enough meat, just my opinion. Had a lot of choices of vegetables.Gravy was like water. Not bad for a last minute decision.

We were really looking forward to a lunchtime visit today, as we haven't been in months and we have always really enjoyed the food. Despite it being relatively quiet, the food was quite disappointing.The meat portions vary wildly from customer to customer, as well as visit to visit. Today I ended up with 3 very small, thin slivers and my partner was given double the amount. My meal was practically vegetarian. The cauliflower was hugely undercooked, the roast potatoes were dry as a bone and powdery. Sadly nowhere near the standard of food we are used to when visiting this branch. The table staff were lovely and polite as they always are.A visit to the bathroom overwhelmed me with the smell of damp and mould; the decor has seen much better days and could really use an overhaul to get rid of the peeling surfaces, and mould creeping over the skirting board gaps in the cubicles.I'd love to visit and find the food quality has returned to a decent standard, with more attention to portion size.

Me and my friend meet here on a monthly basis for lunch. So it's fair to say I've been a few times. The place it's self is big, clean and tidy. The staff are always welcoming and polite. The food is always lovely and reasonably priced. We always stay until late afternoon when tea time is almost about to begin and the staff never ask us to leave.

We went for an all you can eat buffet breakfast it was the second time we had been & the first time was better than the second. Literally all you can eat including bacon & sausage! Its self serve & there is a limited but tasty selection & also a toast machine with butter, jam, marmalade. Very cheap & good if your off on a day out or on the way to the airport like we were the first time. You can pay extra for unlimited tea/coffee & the pop machine is on for unlimited refills which had been updated this time so you can have a shot of cherry, vanilla etc into your normal soft drink. Very tasty!

We decided to eat out for breakfast which isn't something we really do, and my partner had a bad experience here with carvery a year ago. The cooked breakfast was in hot plate style all you can eat. It was fresh, choice of food was good and the service was great too. We had sausages, eggs (fried & scrambled) , bacon, toast, and mushrooms. There was also bubble and squeak which I loved and refillable drinks. Well definitely be back for breakfast. Yummy. And very reasonably priced too.

Lovely meal, not to busy, football on TVs in lounge part of bar not to loud even with England playing.Carvery very nice, mother in law had the just salad which looked freshly done.

We used to love going here but then the food turned we went on three occasions for breakfast and each time at least a couple of hours before they stopped and they had ran out of almost everything so it was basically toast and a rasher of bacon if you were lucky!

Popped in for a lunch with 45 minutes to next meeting. Got my drink, waited in the bar, and left after 40 minutes.. Not thirsty anymore but I wonder for how long I should stick around in order to get a simple roast beef sandwich..?

I had been recommended to try the carvery here so booked a table for the family. Plenty of parking and arrived at 6.00 pm plenty of seating, staff polite and helpful. They had an offer on where you could have two courses for 6.75 each but you have to print off the voucher which you get on line and hand it to the waitress when you order your food, we had a carvery and desert. Good selection of meat and vegetables and you can go up again if needed for extra vegetables and gravy, food very tasty and desert choice was small but nice. Enjoyed the food and excellent value as a family.

My family had finished their meal before I had picked up my main course dish. No one had told me it was waiting at the chef keep warm area. When I collected the butternut squash crumble it was burnt. Witnessed 3 Dirty clientele who do not wash their hands on leaving the toilets, observed whilst drying my hands. Chef had more marks on his whites than the tourin shroud! Asked for bill they charged my child for an adult course from the carvery and full price for an ice cream when it should have just been £4.99 for a child's main and ice cream. I had the cheesecake no choice of ice cream or whipped cream, it came with whipped cream which I had to leave as too sickly. Would not recommend and had to ask for a kids menu. Vegetables like the swede had hard bits in made me retch. Cauliflower was too hard too. Terrible. Not going again!

Where else for a guaranteed Sunday roast. Tried this place out today after not visiting one for years. Well. The carvery was amazing. Very good selection and the roast potatoes were great. Will definitely go back again. Service good too.

Most of our group of 10 had the carvery, which appeared to be of average quality overloaded with vegetables. Two of the group did not want carvery, including myself, and was presented with 4 unimpressive vegetarian options, a meat free carvery ???, salmon or salads. There were more hot options on the children's menu than the adult one.My "roast chicken salad" consisted of a flattened chicken breast that had been overcooked in a microwave and a overdressed salad that had limp old lettuce and 2 elements of the salad missing, with the response that they did not have any and the chef did his best. If you want a average carvery they by all means visit, if any of your group do not want this, then I suggest you find an alternative with a more varied menu.

When we go away for a family weekend we tend to be drawn to a Toby Carvery for breakfast however we were very dissatisfied to find half the menu was not available and when we asked the chef we were asked "was there not enough" but when I have a full English breakfast I don't think it's too much to have eggs of some sort? The other problem was one of the part was a vegetarian apart from having to wait an age for the quorn sausages we asked where the cheese and onion has was to be told that the hash on the main counter was in fact said very option though the card said it had bacon written on it to be told it's all made in the same skillets so not very veggie at all. So unless your not a veggie I would consider another location and if your a veggie I would not even consider this location.

Came here for a treat for breakfast on Easter Sunday. It wasn't too busy and was able to pick a table easily. Cost £17 for 2 adult, 1 child unlimited breakfasts and 3 unlimited drinks. The food was ok, most of it had been on the warmer for a while so was a little cold, although it was good to keep an eye out for when they refreshed the dishes and it was hotter!! Sausages were the best thing though, they were lovely! Plenty of bread to toast and pots of jam/marmalade and butter. Not sure about having the breakfast yorkies and gravy.....they were just normal yorkies with normal gravy! Not my idea on a breakfast! Only downside was the people, some of them felt it was their right to push in front of you, obviously not heard of queues! It doesn't matter how many times I've been here it always feels a bit dated now, and not very clean - maybe time for a renovation!!

Went for a meal with my cousin. The whole place feels like it needs a good clean. The toilets were horrendous. I told the duty manager who said they will be sorted. She said i could yse the disabled whilst they were being cleaned but they were the same. The food was luke warm and my drink was flat. Vile

Went there for our family Xmas meal. We got a good deal with 20% discount voucher. Four choices of meat, large portions which could also be upgraded to even larger portions! Very good service from waiting staff.

Went for late lunch ,tues 2nd Feb.Very good Food as always with Toby!Staff very pleasant and helpful.

If you want a nice carvery that doesn't break the bank it has to be a Toby....it can get busy but usually you are seated staight away. Staff are pleasant and it's good value...plenty of parking too

This was a spontaneous evening out meal with the family ... We were running late as we had booked the table for 7pm but didn't turn up till 8pm and our table was held by such lovely staff which we called to confirm that we were running late The carvery was beautiful plenty of meats to choose from turkey gammon beef and pork plentiful veg and sauces ... Definitely worth a visit and it's great for kids too as we had a 4year old and a 10month old baby within the party an the staff were helpful Also pretty clean!

Went today for breakfast on Sunday 20th December. After we paid the food choice was sub standard. Half the dishes were left with little to no food in them. And the stuff left was greasy/cold. The staff then started removing the dishes of food at 10:40 even though it states breakfast is served till 11. The plates for the food were absolutely filthy and we had to look through at least 5 or 6 before finding a clean one. There was no knives or forks on the table and the tables were not clean. Overall it wasn't a good experience and I've came to expect better the toby carvery restaurants but this one has certainly tainted that view. Honestly a 2/10 at best.

we went here for a roast carvery and we totally enjoyed it the food was plentiful and very nice indeed. we would definitely go back.

On arrival we were told there would not be any Turkey, in fact the lady was not sure what was on offer. However we did not want to go elsewhere. We were pleasantly surprised as the food was plentiful and cooked well. Good thing as we had our teenage son with us who eats very well! Would recommend..

Used to pop in quite regular but not anymore.Sosages had all been split open, eggs i could bounce off the walls,And everything now seems to taste bland.

We attended for my elderly nans birthday as this is close to where she lives and easy to get to, also due to my grandad being diabetic we thought this would be an easy option so we get the timings right of him having his insulin to the time he was eating, food was not up to the standard of other carverys I go to that I pay less for. The mash potato looked like when cooking the potatoes had boiled in to the water and then butter added which just made it look like slop, the meat portion you are given is ridiculously small and there is not a lot of choice. Then when you start walking on the carpet you stick to it!! This really is in need of a refurb instead of using two tables to sit all 16 of us down they used 8 single tables so you had to be careful as when moving in case of tipping. Will not be visiting here again, it's a shame really as it used to be good

Although this is our closest Toby, we normally go to Walsall as a rule, however as we had to go in to Dudley we decided to come here for breakfast. How I wish we hadn't.Staff were friendly however the food and surroundings were both below expectation. Because of the overhead heating on the carvers deck the scrambled egg had a crust to it, the hash which elsewhere contains bacon and chunks of onion was just potato and the slightest hint of an onion having seen it and was quite bland. The bacon and sausage, whilst well cooked, were nothing to write home about, and the fried egg was only partially cooked.Plates were clean on top however underneath was quite dirty, and felt unpleasant to handle. Serving tongs were incredibly hot, having to change hands between picking up items.The restaurant itself is tired and dated as you can see in the photos, and in need of a full refurb.On the whole if I were you I would drive past and go to Walsall Toby which is far better.

I agree with most of the reviews, very hit & miss. Expensive for a Sunday carvery, as many more places available. I also find it a little dirty, where tables are not cleared quick enough, and food on the floor. Needs a revamp, and changes to the carvery. Don't go for breakfast, as mass produced food, poor quality!!

The food here is lovely. However the staff are very slow and are always busy standing around talking to each other. Such a shame. Will try the pie factory for a carvery next time

I have visited the Toby car very several times over the years and I used to love the place.The last time I visited with a group of friends we joined a small queue and when we were finally served my reply from the chef was "the meat is just about cooked" what kind of a reply is that from a chef who wasn't totally sure the meat on my plate was cooked?? There was a small selection of vegetables and asking for a new tray of potatoes was like it was too much trouble for the staff. will be going to crown carvery in future.

Sometimes you can visit & enjoy a lovely traditional roast but other times the cauliflower is hard, the potatoes are tasteless, the beef is like chewing rubber & they've never got a full selection of desserts!!! We paid over the odds for Boxing Day last year & wouldn't bother again .... Lots of improvements to be made.

Always love a good roast!Visited for my birthday, didn't book. Very busy, but didn't have to wait too long. We were placed on a table right next to the carvery, which meant a queue wrapped around us the entire time we were there. It was very busy and we were a part of 7 though so can't he helped I guess. Good service, great food, good prices.

The food is very good. I just think it is a little expensive for a Sunday carvery. There are other local Carvery's that are just as good and a lot cheaper.
