The Billiard Hall in Sandwell

Found this great place on maps, good atmosphere, great staff ,music, and cocktails.

Inside was clean with prompt service. It was lunchtime a and busy, but I managed to get a seat. The coffee machine now does decaf options, which is always welcome. Nothing to complain about. Please note the pub is no longer run by JD Wetherspoon.

A proper pub with proper service

I can't speak on the food so have to one star BUT if/when we go back that may be amended. We popped in last night on a whim, 17:30 on a Saturday afternoon and the party was in full swing. Couldn't find anywhere to sit but managed to slide ourselves in by the slot machines near the door. Despite how busy it was, getting served was no issue, the team behind the bar were kept busy but kept on top of it. Felt almost like a social club you had young and old all mingling and getting along, Very reasonable prices, I'm not sure if there was a happy hour offer on or if that's the standard but no complaints from me at £4:60 for a pint and a half lager-top. Toilets were clean, music was awesome Reggae event on.

Always good service. It can get busy if there is a live band performing .good venue for live football .you can request the game you want to view. 7tv screens. Worthy of a visit. Price,s .competitive....

As I went to see a freind there. It was first time. It was fairly busy and atmosphere was great. It had Dj on as well firstly playing Reggae, Than normal English old records from 70s . It was brilliant. As we left we were already thinking of going there agin

This place rocks over the weekend, always good music, fair priced booze with a 45min happy hour. Staff and management are great. Take the family as all ages use it. I love the place since day 1.

Started going since it's been taken over by new owners. Lovely atmosphere, friendly bar staff, live entertainment and affordable. What else do u need. Love it

Coffee is good but atmosphere isn't very good. Food is okay when cooked but bacon could be done better. The coffee is better made with the kettle as sometimes I'm early bird and coffee machine not always ready and hot. The staff are wonderful and keep a safe place for people and families. Everyone looks out for each other and we're looking forward to Xmas day dinner.

Popped in for a quick drink. Vast improvement on the decor since the new management have taken over. Friendly bar staff. Will be back to try the food, as saw plates being brought out to other punters it looked fab.

The Billiard Hall was ok. Didn't spend much time in it. The food was ok that we ordered. My husband enjoyed his burger and the chicken strips was for me was ok too.

Honestly an amazing pub since it’s been taken over, lovely staff and owners, great events every weekend, draught and food is fresh!!

To many owners to much shady stuff going on behind the scenes I don't like the pub specially jay . Always kick off no security for the trouble . The toilets smell and dirty pub and my friend found hair in food before the place dead rest week only busy Friday and Saturday and match days . They barred because i split and drink I like laught and loud I am gay I friendly person if you don't like then you shouldn't run homophobic people owner's you are

Nice welcoming atmosphere. Cask ale was poor though. Enville was cloudy and didnt taste great, had to leave half a pint. Tasted like the pipes hadn’t been cleaned. It’s a shame as it seems like a nice place.

Done it up nicely, bar staff hadn't got a clue.. serving people who just come to the bar, and left people who'd been waiting.

I popped in here with my dad, daughter and baby grandson. We had a lovely quiet drink and shared memories together in here. Close to the bus station just a walk across the road.

Me and the Mrs go there most Saturdays and it's fantastic, Staff are excellent, don't have to wait long to get a drink even when its busy

The food is absolutely amazing and they have well trained very polite young staff who are a credit to the establishment. Certainly would recommend you give this place a visit and do so without reservation 👍🏾

New owners pub ok but only one draft beer

Went in for a meal with my husband and mother in law. The service of the bar staff was fine, but I wish I could say the same about the food. After waiting 45 minutes and watching 3 families who arrived after us being served, I asked where our food was. It was obvious that they had messed up because they didn't even know what we had ordered! My mother in law's came out first on a plate with bits of dried peas on it, but missing the peas she had asked for. They brought out my meal which was also completely wrong. They gave me the correct meal but forgot the cutlery, Then returned with 2 knives. They brought out my husband's meal which was a burger. We specifically asked for no gherkin or tomatoes due to allergies, but this too was ignored. It was rectified and luckily he hadn't swallowed any of the food. We then saw someone wiping down the tables with a cloth and spray bottle which is fine, but they included ones where customers were still eating and drinking! I hope that this was a one off, but we certainly won't be eating there again

Nice drink and food in there and it's right by the bus station so easy to catch a bus to get home

Went after a shopping trip was a bit worried as had a few screens showing football but atmosphere was good and fairly quiet and food /service was very good and friendly.

Great pub to use just before the West Brom match. Good cheap beer and food served very quickly by excellent staff. Will definately use it again.

Food is amazing. I had a jerk chicken flavour 1/2 chicken 🍗 with Tuesday offer of 2 side dishes. Amazing 😋 only thing to remember is that kitchen closes at 8 pm. Cheers 🍻🍻

Great place, very welcoming and friendly stuff. Cheap beer and great food. I would definitely recommend going on a Tuesday for the half chicken and two sides. (£5.00) I went there last Tuesday for the first time since it's changed from the wetherspoons and I will be going back. For half jerk chicken with extra sauce, curly fries, big bowl of homemade coleslaw, 8 onion rings & a pint of thatchers Gold £9.94 👌 well worth the money and good quality of food, taste beautiful.

Fantastic staff, good atmosphere. I'm quite liking the half chicken they serve, the peri peri is great but I found the jerk one to be quite rich. Otherwise a fantastic replacement for the awful spoons before it.

We have been coming here for years but since the new management had taken over it seems to have gotten better! Great environment-food is great (red hot may I add) and drinks are great too! The manager always recognises us and is always so friendly-just a great environment really is💙

Haven't been here for years but went Saturday and it was great cheap drinks great service good atmosphere didn't have food but will be definitely pop in for breakfast one morning.

Since change of management and no longer a spoons. It's a great pub. Lovely staff and the food is well worth it.

This place has been refurbished to a very good end product. Although I didn't eat myself plenty did and seemed happy with their food.

Working in West Brom this week, stumbled across the billiard hall, brilliant pub and the new owners are ace, walking round and talking to the customers 👍👍 and the Stella is a cracking pint at a cracking price 👌👌

Didn't have food on the day I visited but it's lovely n clean and the service was great

A tasty table full of food for £10! What's to complain about? The Tuesday special of half a chicken and sides for £5 is amazing value and top notch. The honey and garlic chicken was truly a new experience for us, compliments to the chef. All of the staff were lovely too. We'll be back... ☺️ Ps. Perfect fuel for cyclists 🚴🏽‍♂️🚴🏼‍♀️😊 PPS. The new owners have improved the former Weatherspoon’s pub brightening up the pub making it a bright and inviting location for anyone to enjoy. The 6 of us grabbed a table in the corner and enjoyed the next 6 hours with a wide selection of draft beers/larger, wines and shots. We ordered food which was delicious. We will be back for another afternoon/evening of drinking, eating and great times with friends at a great location.

Great atmosphere & brilliant prices. Servers were extremely polite. Will be visiting again.

Was quiet when I visted but liked the fact it now sells more bottled cider ie, Magners than previous owners. Barstaff very polite and attentive. Will visit again.
