Tivoli Restaurant is located inside Fenwick's and is a table service restaurant. The staff were friendly and the service was very good. If you sit at far corner you can see Grey's Monument.

Visited for lunch with a friend, we both opted for fish and chips, everything was okay.....but frozen chips, and watery tinned mushy peas also dry bread rolls is pretty poor.......nice setting but massive room for improvement, service was not the best either unfortunately.

Tivoli restaurant is a lovely place to eat with friends. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The meals are exceptional. The tables weren’t squashed together, and I didn’t feel we had to rush away once we’d finished our meal. I would definitely recommend Tivoli to anyone.

My husband and I went here for lunch as I have happy memories of this place. Views Lovely, staff great, but unfortunately the lunch was let down by the food. The chicken dish was dry and crusty and quite frankly inedible. Lovely to visit Fenwicks but would never eat here again.

I love going to this restaurant. The staff, the setting, the crsip white tablecloths and the silver pepper pots really make you feel rather special. The food is probably more seventies and not super chic but if I wass going to recommend a great lucntime experience in a post industrial city it is the Tivoli. Try and get a table by the window at the bottom of the restaurant for great views of city shoppers.

I visited the Tivoli in Fenwicks today with my husband and father for a traditional Sunday lunch. It was a quiet afternoon (the weather was particularly horrible) but there was still enough people at tables to feel comfortable. We were served promptly and the food was piping hot. Portions were generous and not overly expensive. We were made to feel extremely welcome and would definitely return. The general 'air' of the restaurant might be perceived by some as old-fashioned, however I would prefer to call it nostalgic. I really enjoyed looking at the old photographs of Fenwicks circa 19th and 20th centuries that are on the walls, for example. Don't go there, however, expecting ultra-modern - you won't get that. I loved it.

Bland and so old fashioned ! Needs a make over . Food like TV dinners. Had a Christmas turkey dinner where everything on the plate tasted the same. Not good.

We often try different resturants at lunchtime but return to the Tivoli again and again. A few years ago we stopped going as the food was really dire (change of chef?) but for the past few years it has reverted back to good. We go for a starter and a main course so can't comment on the desserts although they look delicious. In the old days they used to serve the veg separately on a kidney shaped dish, but honestly we couldn't finish it all so it is better for us that they now plate the whole lot up. Had fish and chips once and although the fish was lovely, they placed it on top of the chips which meant the grease from the fish seeped into the chips and rendered them uneatable. It's best served side by side - if it's not broke why mend it! However last time we had roast beef and Yorkshire puddings, once again stacked up the way they do now, for why I don't know but there was no grease and the whole meal was lovely. They don't ask you how you want your beef cooked ie medium, rare or well done, which doesn't bother us as it's always well done exactly as we like it. They scrapped their salad bar several years ago so maybe that wasn't cost effective. We still make fairly regular visits to the Tivoli, so they must be doing something right. I would say, good, nicely cooked traditional food, always nice and hot, and served by very friendly and efficient waitresses. I expect we'll always be regulars.

Realmente decepcionante visita.

I've been a regular visitor to this restaurant for some years and paid a return visit recently. As always the service in the table service restaurant was friendly and efficient. The meal was served quickly but unhurriedly. The quality of the food was good as always and the price reasonable. The portion sizes seem smaller than before and while my Eton Mess dessert was very tasty, it was smaller than I remembered from previous visits.

The food here is utterly woeful, at least the Sunday lunch. Clearly just supermarket food warmed up (or in some cases, not even warmed up). We waited absolutely ages for our food, and the server was completely unapologetic. We were a large party, that they knew about. We ordered in advance, and then confirmed a couple of hours prior. By the time the beef and pork started coming out (sitting on the counter, not being served), a few of our party had finished. Not on at all. Not once did they explain what was going on. We just waited and waited, and the dishes were coming out more or less one at a time. If you can't cope with large orders, don't accept them, but if you do and you can't cope, just let us know. Don't make excuses after the event. Tell us beforehand or at least apologise for the wait. Price-wise, £16 for a bought in roast is a joke. £14 for a pie clearly bought in from Heron and cooked by Chef Mike is offensive. The veg was washed out and over cooked. The gravy was tasteless. With so many other places in the vicinity to eat, this is bottom rung. Like I said, it's not even cheap. Not worth it on any level. (This is my opinion only, and not necessarily the opinion of anyone else in our group)
