Lovely nan - the best Starters fab The mains - not so great - why would a chicken curry have heavy lemon test? lamb curry was better

Starters are small for price considering 10% service charge on top. Drinks are a rip off we paid £4.00 for a soft drink so that’s £4.40 including service charge what’s worse is the drinks prices are not advertised on the menu. We are non alcoholic and thought that was the very expensive (they sell a pint of beer for £4.20) in fact we’ve never paid more than 3.50 for a soft drink in England ! Mains were nice and the service was good but the service charge is optional . Just annoyed about the rip off drinks prices.

Horrible place, rubbish food and very arrogant staff....ordered mixed sizzler which was no where near to sizzling. It was cold and extremely spicy. Call off rest of a main course and ask for a bill. A young waiter came with a bill and throwed it on a table in front of me which i felt very offensive and disrespectful. Called a manger who listen to me but was defending his staff action and there horrible food...anyway will never go again and highly not recomendable place unless you dont a self respect and if you dont mind eating cold rubbish.

We always go to Tiranga as the food is amazing, we always go for the Mixed Grill Sizzler, Salt and Pepper Prawns or Garlic Chilli Prawns, Chilli Chips & Handi Chicken. The food tastes really good and it is consistent. Anyway whilst our food was served we asked for some lemon slices, twice once when we ordered the starters and once when we ordered the main course. All was good until we received our bill to see that we got charged £2 for the two times we asked for lemon quarters. To add more pain added a service 10% charge on top. Really insulting considering that you can buy 4 lemons in Aldi for 52p. This was taking a big massive P***. We shared the bill, but if it was down to me then I would have deducted the charge of the lemon from the Service charge. Surely the cost of the lemon slices can be absorbed into the cost of the food on the table. Are we now going to be charged extra for Lemonade with a slice of lemon :). If they continue to charge for lemon slices then I think we should all take our own Lemon into Tiranga and donate it to the owner to make him look like a right LEMON. Obviously they will charge to cut your own Lemon if you happen to ask for it. Please, Please reconsider your charges as times are hard for everyone and going out is no longer cheap. It has become a luxury that people can avoid as they are many other options available - Jag - Wellingborough

The food was good but I paid over £6 for a beer. The staff were friendly and the owner came over to chat. It's clean and service was speedy.

Meal was excellent, we asked for lemon slices during our meal only to be surprised to see that we were charged £1 for two 1/4 pieces of lemon (1/2 a lemons worth). Honestly a 4 pack lemon is 55p in Lidl. It’s taking the lemon for a ride. I think from now on anyone that goes to Tiranga please take your own lemon and gift it to the owner. I’m sure they will get the msg and look like a right LEMON

This restaurant had recently been redecorated and we decided to eat out with our friends. The service was very slow , the food portions was small and the taste was awful! We got charged for salad and extra for a very small portion of chopped onions / (3rings of onions) We ordered crispy vegetable bhajjia platter , there was no taste and the vegetables were all potatoes except for one piece of aubergine. No sauces or salads complementary I would not recommend this place

Never seen sizzler served before soup. Never seen chicken Manchurian and salt & pepper prawns cooked in same style. Never seen all food dumped on table within 10 minutes of ordering. Never seen so much food colour on my table. Off-putting Message is to hog the food and leave. Manager - best not to be called. All he said was "I don't want to argue" I just paid and left. Regretted going there.

Went thrice in lessthan two weeks. After couple of really good experiences, ordered Veg Sizzler, Garlic Chill fish and Seekh kebab. Everything hot. My mistake asking for everything hot. They literally mixed green chillies in premixed kebab and it was not tasting but hell hot. One of the guys walked in and offered a replacement & we said yes. There comes the owner, might be on his 6th pint, you asked for hot 🥵 & hence it is hot. Eat it or don't !! Shocked by the attitude. Not going there again. Spoiled our meet for sure.

Been a while since we decided to pop back to this restaurant, so we decided to go before lockdown. We drove from Nottingham to enjoy a nice meal before the big lockdown. On entry I knew we was not going to have a good experience. The place was packed. Starters arrived and was good as usual. There was an error on my starter but was happy to have it. The mains took over an hour to come and no one came to ask if we wanted any more drinks either. When the mains finally arrived, after us asking for them. The 3 naans out if the 4 was burnt, the dishes was luke warm. Not the best at all. When we asked for the bill we was given the bill for that table next to us which was 1/2 the price of our bill. We told them and they was pleased we was honest. We also mentioned about the naans and they did not remove them from our bill or even offer any discount. On top of this they added a service charge to the bill. Disgraceful!! We paid, less the service charge and left very upset. Should have just paid the wrong bill!! Unfortunately we will not be returning or recommending them. Operators should take note how they can improve, not run a business on trying to pack the place to just turnover as much money as they can. I know as I am in the industry.

Prolonged service, whether it is food or cutlery. When asked for regular portion, was charged for large portion. Extra money was charged for dessert then was stated on the menu. If you want to take leftover food home, you have to pay for containers. Drinks were slightly overpriced. Tables were close together, fairly crampt. Food was lovely.

We love coming to Tiranga. It’s not the most modern of restaurants but who cares when the food is so consistently fabulous. The sizzlers and curries are fantastic, both meat and vegetarian.We tried a few other places for variety but Tiranga never fails to deliver wonderful food.I’d highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Booked a table and was going to be about 10 minutes late. Called the restaurant to let them know and they said it would be ok. Got there and was left waiting around for about 20 minutes so had to ask again about our table- was told by the girl that her mum took the call but because we didn’t arrive at the original time they gave our table away so was left with no booking and no apology as they weren’t bothered. Staff are really rude and unhelpful- will not bother going back.

Came here for a family meal to celebrate my daughters birthday. On arrival we ordered some drinks, my husbands beer had to be returned as it was totally flat- they did this without an issue. We had our meal and asked for the bill, the bill came and we paid it in the folder given to us - this was then picked up by the waiter whilst we were preparing to leave. My mother in law has limited mobility so it took us a good 10 to 15 minutes to actually leave the restaurant. When we arrived home we received a telephone call from the restaurant advising that we hadn’t paid our bill - we were really annoyed as we had paid the bill we were given. They basically accused us of not paying but bearing in mind how long it took us to leave- if we hadn’t paid then this would have been picked up straight away. The conversation went on for a good 15 minutes whilst they continued to accuse us of not paying. They said they had found a bill in the kitchen which was ours and not the one we had paid. Let’s be honest if you’re given a bill you will pay it. We asked them to check their cctv and come back to us tomorrow as it was getting late and they had now ruined our celebrations for my daughters birthday. The daughter rang back the next day and said again that she checked the cctv and she could see we paid something but we hadn’t paid the whole bill as they had given us the wrong bill and that we should have noticed that. We explained again that we were given a bill and we paid the bill we were given. We asked to see the cctv as what she was saying was really far fetched. If we had anything to hide we wouldn’t have asked for this to be done. We went to the restaurant 2 days later to see the cctv and what she was saying- she didn’t have anything to support that. She accused my son of lying and then denied that she was doing that. She was also having a conversation with her mum in Gujarati and I explained that I understood everything she was saying so don’t understand why she was talking in Gujarati. She said that her mum can’t speak English. Throughout our conversation with her all she was interested in was accusing us of not paying- this was getting really annoying but we ended up paying the bill again. Anyone in their right mind would have walked out and not paid, however we did say that we won’t be recommending them to anyone and will be telling everyone about what happened. Whilst we were paying the bill with the father the daughter went into the kitchen and was bad mouthing us to her mum who couldn’t speak English in English!! I said to the father that it was really unprofessional to talk about someone whilst they are still there and his response was that he just shrugged his shoulders. We paid the restaurant and left confirming again that we will never return. Please be warned in case you find yourself in the same situation at this restaurant. After reading other reviews about the restaurant, overcharging seems to be a common theme at this restaurant and they have no comprehension of customer service.

Had a family birthday meal here tonight ( we are a fussy family ) and I have to say all our needs were met. We all ate so much food and enjoyed every dish that was presented to us. All piping hot full of flavours each dish had it own unique taste. Then comes the party everyone dreads the BILL. Shocked us all not overpriced as we expected for such quality food. Considering how much we ate.Staff team were amazing attended to all of our needs , took time (even though busy ) to interact with the kids and make the Evening fun for them also.Defo recommend you will not regret.

First visit here and I was not disappointed.Absolutely brilliant.Food was authentic Indian and tasty.A real surprise as I had been avoiding the place in favour of a restaurant across the road (which does not exists anymore).Good service. Small ish restaurant everything we tried here was spot on tasty and service was good. Veg was excellent and non veg was about average. One of the surprising ones to take on the big boys in Leicester.

This restaurant was recommended to us and we were not disappointed when we visited it recently. The menu contained different dishes to your normal Indian and there was also some Chinese dishes. The flavours were unique and we will return again to try some for other dishes. Very friendly waiters and waitress who served you with a smile.

Visited with a small group of friends and found the restaurant to be a very good find. Clean and bright , with a nice relaxed layout. Pretty full and busy but not intrusive, a vibrant atmosphere.

We have come here so many times and the food is absolutely fantastic!!! It gets better with each visit and we as a family have recommended this Indian restaurant to so many of our friends and family. The chili paneer and chili chicken dishes are amazing as is their lamb chops! Can't fault a thing - keep it up!

Let me start by saying the food is good but its let down by the owner who adds additionsl pounds to drinks because on the main manu the drink prices are not written and it was due to me making this query another drinks menu list was shown.

Visited with family to anniversary celebrations, food hot and tasty, position are average , excellent service. Warmly welcome. Service is in excellent time.

If you want value for money then come here. Its roomy for families, parties or just couples. The staff have all been lovely and helpful and will navigate you round the menu. The food is always well cooked and hot and if you like it really spicy then ask for extra. Go and try it, we were all very surprised how tasty it is. Will definitely be back again very soon.

Nice large venue not far from the city centre. A good range of drinks including Cobra on draft. Service was good. Portions were large. Food was delicious if a little hot for some people’s taste. Great atmosphere and not too expensive

The first time I visited this place was for a family friend's birthday party, and after having the veg sizzler there, I knew I had to go back. The sizzlers are the only thing we go there for, it's reasonably priced, the atmosphere is good, staff are nice and friendly, but most importantly the food tastes amazing. Can't wait to go back there next time

Recently enjoyed a very nice meal here. Food was full of flavour, fresh and plenty of it. I tried the chicken jalfrezi, which was nice and spicy with rich flavours. Chicken saag was delicious all accompanied with piping hot nanns and rice. Lovely meal, great service and very reasonably priced. Well worth a visit.

Went to this restaurant on the 2nd November with a group of friends. Service was excellent. Food was very tasty especially the Manchurian Soup and Garlic Prawns. Would highly recommend this restaurant. We will be back.

Went with family (10) food was disgusting, service very very poor, staff where smelling with oder. No Vat bill handwritten overcharging on food .bill for food never ordered .after checking bill our bill was £123.50p but change us £142.50 .WE WILL NEAR GO AGAIN VERY DISAPPOINTED

First visit to this place but certainly won't be my last. It's noisy, a bit disorganised and not the best service in the world and therefore very very authentic. The food was superb, sizzling fish and lamb jalfrezi especially recommended. Brilliant

Food was very good and the portion size was average but at the end of the day we all had really bad stomach upset the next day. The name Tiranga means India Flag so the decor & restaurant represents India. We were there from 6pm listening to English news and documentary. We requested few times if they could change the tv channel as well as radio but we had to sit and listen to whatever the bar staff were interested. Later at aroubd 8pm the put bollywood with English background. I wont rate this place as India/Flag/Tiranga. The seating area is really dirty and they really worn out. Posting the seating BENCH, where we the 15 of us had to sit.

This place never fails to impress on the food! Always tasty and portion size not bad. Only downside is the person serving didn't seem to understand us and we had to repeat a few times to make sure he got the order right. Also, the female owner isn't friendly enough. Beware of them including 10% service charge on the bill without letting you know. Also, they always say the credit card machine doesn't work so only accept cash! Overall good food.

Came here for the first time and we were impressed. Very busy night but they found us a table, so best to book first if there is a group. Very friendly staff, obliging and helpful. This place has a great atmosphere and the food does not disappoint. From starters ranging from samosas's to chilli chicken and vegetarian choices there is something for everyone. The mains were very tasty and something on the menu for everyone. Would certainly return. If there was one thing I would change is put original cider on the drinks menu, not just fruit cider but that's me being picky.

I paid my first visit to this restaurant on Thursday. I was really impressed. The inside appears a little basic, but the food and service were amazing. I had a started called ‘lollipop chicken’ that was just wonderful. The portion sizes were generous and the service good.

Were greeted straight away and when we asked if we could sit somewhere else, they let us, although we sat right under the speakers so couldn't hear ourselves talk. Food came quite quickly. I'm sure you the paneer pieces in the sizzler were a lot smaller than on our last visit. Gobi Manchurian was the best. The mixed vegetable jalfrezi had green sauce so couldn't see what we were eating. Naan was very soft and fresh. Overall good service.

Beautifully home cooked food with a twist, Kenyan-India n styled flavours. Great atmosphere too! Be sure to book if you go at weekends as it’s always busy, and what I really like is that they don’t rush you out. Great for all the family.

We visited here last Saturday with my friends from work, it was really busy which is a good sign, there was 7 of us and we ordered a feast, a lot of starters veg and non veg so we could all share everything, then ordered some main courses and rice and roti and naan bread, the food was delicious and the staff were polite and friendly, the atmosphere was great so we will be booking a table here again very soon.

The food is delicious and packed with spice and flavour. We ordered starters between us and there was so much we did not have a main course. Fast service in a real traditional Indian. Will return to taste Moe from the menu.

El propietario del restaurante se negó a descuento del precio sin embargo dijo pagar en efectivo y con descuento el precio por 3 libras. La evasión fiscal? ? ? Nosotros perdido como clientes! ! Have been here many a times never been disappointed with food or service provided. The Indo Chinese is the best. And the naans to die for.

We had heard the fish sizzler was worth a visit however that only led us to discover more gems. The Talapi fish was very very tasty but the chilli paneer was the star act and one of the best we've had in a long time! Glazed, crunchy on the outside and both soft and textured in the middle with a wonderful Indo-Chinese flavour. Worth a visit on its own! The main which was also a very tasty dish (chicken tawa) but didn't live up to the starters. To be honest, not many main dishes anywhere would!We also noted that the service was excellent & always delivered with a professional approach & smile. WE WILL BE RETURNING SOON!

Went there for a cousins birthday. We order lots of food. I ordered the prawn which was really hot and delicious. The rice was cooked perfectly. The customer service was brilliant. Will go there again.

Ordered a lamb dish, reasonable sized portion but only 4 little pieces of lamb, the rest all gravy, taste of gravy filled with onions and Garam masala taste. Too pricey plus a 10 percent service charge on top. Badly disappointed. Will never go again.

We booked here for a Birthday Party for 5 people 5 days in advance. On arriving at the place the lady said they had no booking on our name. I asked her to show me the reservations book and we could see that they had our booking and could see our contact number in the book. How ever they could not accommodate us as they had over book. I will never ever eat in here again. They ruined our evening. Definitely not impressed.

The food is amazing and to a high quality. Portions are generous and the owner makes a mean bloody Mary with and without alcohol. The sizzlers are absolutely amazing and I'll be going again tomorrow

We ordered a takeout from this restaurant as it was a family members birthday and we held a little get together down our house. We told the person who took our order that we didn't want it to be spicy at all! We initially picked something from the menu which then the man advised that, our first choice will definitely be spicy due to sauce they use, so then he advised to pick another dish, which we did, (we were happy with his service thinking its nice of him to advising us what would better option for us) and he said that they could make this curry extremely mild. We placed the order thinking we can enjoy this vegetarian dish without it being spicy, but all i can is we were left highly disappointed as our order had green chilies and was too spicy that we decided not to have it in the end..

Office drinks + loads of starters - we ordered so many we didn't go for main in the end. Very nice and the verdict was unanimous! It was a second visit for some in the party but a first for me.

Hasmuk and his family runs a tight ship staff are very professional and always happy to make sure you are looked after.Chef is very good as well as the food is always consistent, and that not common with Indian restaurants.Food and drinks are also very reasonably priced.Recommend this restaurant highly for lunch or dinner.

Visited this when it first opened its doors. This is a great establishment, clean inside and well attentative staff. The food is good and the portions are decent. Fresh food, they get he orders right and the food is served hot. Loved the fried fish and the chicken/paneer really good clean, and respectful .Good beer as well one of the best places in all of Leicester.

I'm a regular here. Lovely food and good service. Just know what to order. Their bhajjia are to die for with a pint. Dry or saucy Manchurian with nanaChicken jalfreizi And there are more dishes that are lovely. They are a busy place but it's a good place to eat. This is not a balti restaurant so don't expect that. Fab food.

Visited this restaurant while staying overnight in Leicester. We had high hopes of a good curry along the Golden Mile. What a disappointment. After receiving hot plates for our starters we then had to wait 30 mins for the food to arrive. There was no acknowledgment by the staff or apologies offered. This was then followed by a 50 minute wait for the main course. This may be understandable on a busy Saturday night, however the restaurant was half full at most on a Monday night.This experience has put us off visiting Leicester again. Advice to all... Please avoid, go to Bradford or Southall for much better food and service!

This restaurant was recommended by a vegetarian and as I too am vegetarian I thought I would give it a try. My husband was happy as they do meat dishes also. The food arrived Indian style as as soon as the food is cooked it arrives, we ordered pickle tray and two meat and two veg starters and a couple of naan breads, we all shared the fabulous food. Honey chilli chicken and mixed grill enjoyed by meat eaters and the vegetarian food was amazing. Will re visit.

Wow what a find. Highlights include the masala mixed sizzler starter and Lamb Chilli Masala. Good service and a busy atmosphere provided the ingredients for a fantastic night. As with all great restaurants - where you find locals you find great value tasty food. Try it.

One of the reasons I always visit Leicester is to have some good Indian food.I've been to this place twice now. The food is good, but nothing to set the world alight. Portions are quite generous though. The Seekh kebab starter was a bit overly dry and overly spicy, almost taking the flavour out of the lamb. The chicken dishes were good. Service is OK. Lots of waiters in the place, but no real coordination which meant having to ask for drinks twice and a surprisingly long wait for the mains after the starter had been finished. All in all a decent meal, and I wouldn't prevent anyone from going here.

We visited here on our monthly curry club outing. It's a kind of sports bar/indian restaurant which is a novel experience. To cover the sports bar side, they have a number of TVs around with live sports on which was fortunate as we it was the World Cup and the gents in the group didn't want to miss the Germany game! (Please note my reference to sports bar is a personal one and not something that was advertised. It might have just been the fact we were in the midst of the World Cup that they had it on, but it just had a sports bar feel about it. Now to the food. Well all i can say is that if you go, don't eat anything the day before! The portions were HUGE and don't have a regular sized dish as a starter otherwise you won't be progressing to the main course. The prices are great for the size of portion and quality of the food. You won't be disappointed and I'm sure I will be back, hopefully before the next World Cup !

Been here a couple if times in the last few months and have to say the food has always been consistent. Their mixed grilled and Lamb Curry is really tasty. In a nutshell good indian food at a reasonable price.

The vegetarian food on the menu is nice. The restaurant has a school canteen atmosphere. The tables and chairs are all lined together.

I visited this restaurant on a recommendation, however, I wish I hadn't. I rang all day to make a booking and they didn't pick up from noon until when we turned up. It wasn't too busy, plenty of free tables and quite a few staff on. Sadly this didn't mean anything when it came to bringing out the food. I ordered a tandoori chicken and was told by the waiter that they didn't do that anymore, so I chose the chicken korma which was specified on the menu as mild. I struggled to find any dish on the menu that didn't include chilli and being a non spice fan, I wasn't impressed.The starters came one at a time, so our group ate at different times as they came out. The mains took a long time to come out also and when they did, my korma was spicy. I couldn't eat much of it and so had to sit and watch my friends eat. Their food was also very spicy but they did enjoy theirs, however if you don't like spice, I wouldn't bother with here. Service doesn't come with a smile and takes a long time for someone to come to see you considering how many people were working.

We ordered sheesh kebab and vegetable Jalfrezi. I visited this place ,one week back as well and had ordered chicken tawa then.Food is OK. I won't rate it as mouth watering neither its bad. But if you are looking for a great tasting Indian restaurant then perhaps this is not the place. I would say its a decent place and giving 4 stars cos my wife loved their sheesh kebabs.

As a group of people we are generally very fussy with individual dietary requirements but have never had a problem with the food here! The indo-chinese section of the menu is fantastic and tasty with a wide selection for vegetarians too. Fast and helpful service and reasonable prices: an all round winner.

The food was good, especially their vegetable dishes were quite nice. Small portions but when in a large group it is okay.

we went here with my sisters family a few Saturdays ago. The restaurant is on little india street melton road in Leicester. The food was unfussy and well cooked, the menu had a lot of choice for all meat eaters and veggis. The food came out without delay and hot, we all enjoyed it. My favorite dish was the starter Jeera chicken. Go here book it and enjoy simple but tasty food

I have been going to Tiranga for a while now with the family. It is a good restaurant with a wide choice on its menu. The veggi manchurian is to die for! Other veggi dishes that are sound Veggi Hydrabadi. The means are also pretty awesome. I would try and stick to the traditional , lamb curry but the Jalfraizi is awesome and is a MUST! The bar has a good choice of beers, i.e. Cobra!

This is one of my favorite places to eat out and grab a takeaway.Very friendly staff and owner, great Indian food. The mix grill and the Jalfrezie chicken are my recommendations. They also do indo Chinese food and the prices are quite reasonable. Very family friendly Restuarant and they will make extra effort to cater for your taste.
