Tipsy Chef Street Food in Preston

We got to try Tipsy Chef for the first time last night, for my husband’s birthday (after wanting to go for ages.) It did not disappoint! Everything was spot on, from the service to the music, to the food … which was as delicious as it looks in the pics. Will definitely be back.

Been here before and normally service and food are fast and good. But I went with my family today so 5 all together when we got in straight away they told us about 4 different tables to sit at before picking the table we should be seated to. We then waited 10 mins before drinks orders were taken asked if we wanted to order food we said can we have 2 minutes which am sorry 30 minutes later still no order taken drinks were gone and we had missed their lunch time offer. I thought it must be busy it wasn't and their were 5 members of staff all stood behind the bar talking I am highly disappointed and don't think I will be going their again and I am not the type of person that gets wound up by this stuff but that was actually a joke 5 staff and it wasnt busy at all

I had been to the market venue many times in the past but this was the first time I visited the restaurant and it did not disappoint! The staff were troopers as we had a big table booking and a few people were an hour late. We felt really guilty over this but the lady serving us was kind and understanding. We also lost track of time and were there when they were about to close (sorry about that!) but she was also very kind about that. The food was amazing and great sized portions and the £5 margs were fab!!! I will deffo be returning. The only reason I haven’t given 5 stars is because of the lack of vegetarian/vegan items, a lot of our table were veggies and only had halloumi really to choose from. I think a venue in Preston really need a wider range of vegan vegetarian dishes due to the higher demand these days. But other than that I can’t wait to come back soon :)

I've been meaning to try this place for a looooong time and it exceeded my high expectations! Th burgers all sound so delicious it's difficult to choose one which is why I ordered 2! I'll start with the 'Don't curry about it'. A masterpiece of a chicken burger. Lush katsu curry sauce and curry aioli. Nicely cooked chicken with good crispy coating. Extra crunch from the chunky hash browns and cabbage. A fantastic curry in a bun really. A top tier burger! The 'Diet starts Monday' burger edged the contest though. The Korean sauce was absolutely banging, so sweet and the delicious baconnaise to go with it too. Really tasty burger patties and chunky pieces of pork belly. Both burgers were a messy delight! My girlfriend had halloumi fries and fat panda loaded fries. The sweet chilli jam had a big kick of spice so be warned. Both portions were massive. Again, all superb. There are a few brilliant burger gaffs in Preston and this one is right up there.

We had been wanting to visit Tipsy Chef for some time, as when we have tried to book previously it's been fully booked so We were really looking forward to our visit. Sadly, I didn't check the menu before we visited and it was quite disappointing. I understand that this is a burger restaurant and this is the primary focus, but there is usually some form of veggie burger option. However, this is not the case and there was a very limited choice for vegetarians/vegans. The only option for a V/Ve main (on the burger menu) is a "chip butty" the other options seem to be bao buns/loaded fries which is more of a side order. I have to be honest I was really disappointed by this. I thought that there would have at least been one plant based/or equivalent veggie/vegan burger option on the menu. The burgers looked lovely but sadly the only veggie main a "chip butty" just didn't have the same appeal to be honest when I'd been expecting/looking forward to a V burger option. I could go to the chip shop and have a "chip butty". I really hope that Tipsy Chef can have a look at some options to accommodate this in the future. My husband really enjoyed his burger and it looked great, and judging by my husband's meal I wished there had been an option for a veggie burger. The decor of the place is lovely. Beer options are quite limited and the Service was slightly hit and miss. Sadly, we won't be returning until there are some better options for vegetarians on the menu.

Absolutely banging burgers, great environment and fabulous staff. I came with my baby for lunch and felt well accommodated and looked after. Food was quick and delicious.

Ace burgers! "Diet Starts Monday" burger is a taste sensation....staff are absolutely brill! Interesting selection of drinks. I've been 3 times now and there's loads more things I want to try on the menu!

Amazing food. Straight into my top 3 burgers in the country. Dirty fried were great and so was the halloumi fries side. Staff were friendly and welcoming and food and service was great

Absolutely fantastic service and food. We were seated despite it being a really busy evening and our waitress was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and one of the best burgers I've had! We will certainly be back! Highly recommend!

This place is easy to miss and I would have walked straight past it if I hadn't researched it before going. I am so glad I discovered this quirky atmospheric dining venue. The food is fresh, flavoursome and delicious. The service and staff are excellent - very friendly and efficient. Me and my friends had the bao buns and halloumi fries which were excellent in appearance, freshness taste and value. We couldn't help looking at other people's choices, all of which looked delicious. If you like fresh and tasty street food, do not miss a visit to Tipsy Chef.

I’d like to start by saying after several visits to Tipsy Chef as a brand (predominantly the market stall and on this unfortunate occasion, the restaurant on Lancaster Road) , the restaurant were notified directly of my complaint and given ample time to resolve the situation, they made the decision not to. I visited the restaurant with high expectations after positive experiences at the market store. Despite a power cut causing a 40-45 minute wait, the delay extended to 1.5 hours, making us late for a concert. The confusion with our order and the neighboring table was comical but frustrating. The server placed our order on our table, only to tell us it then wasn’t. After the food was moved to the neighbouring table and them thoroughly checking our order before we got the chance to, we were then told it was ours and the food was again passed over. Unfortunately, the food fell short—my mum’s burger was cold and stale, and the OG burgers lacked the quality of the market store. The Grilled Cheese was disappointing, resembling grilled bread with a salad and a hidden burger. It then became a game of Where’s Waldo with my friend and the server attempting to find the cheese which was evidently lacking. Overall, a terribly disappointing experience, especially considering the initial positive impressions from the market store.

Wow ! Amazing food , atmosphere & friendly staff - we visited the restaurant on Lancaster road on a Saturday evening and it was super busy ! Slight wait on food but the staff couldn’t apologise enough ( was well worth the wait ). The “Gravy Baby” chicken burger was incredible ! & THE best Bao buns ( salt and pepper chicken ). Alongside a huge drinks menu with lots of choice. Would 100% recommend to anyone wanting this kind of food !

Omg, this place is amazing!! The best halloumi fries ever. Everything was incredibly tasty, fab service and great beer too. If you are looking for an informal feel, incredible "get your hands dirty" type food, then this is place is the one. 5++++ stars. See you again soon.

I'd heard such great things about the food at Tipsy Chef in the market hall but hadn't had the chance to try it due to the opening hours. I was delighted to see the owners had taken over the old Tacos and Tequila place and were open in the evenings. My wife and I came into town specifically to try it out. It was so good we've been back a couple of times since. The menu is limited but I suppose it's better to offer a small selection of quality dishes than a massive selection that's mediocre. The food is excellent and everything is cooked with care. Don't expect fine dining. It's street food. What you get are delicious burgers, tasty loaded fries and amazingly soft bao buns. Frozen margaritas are only £5 and there is a good selection of beers too. Staff are friendly and helpful. We arrived on one particularly busy night and with a bit of reorganising by the staff member, we were still offered a table. The place has a fun atmosphere. We'll be back and shall be recommending it to friends. I hope Tipsy Chef is here to stay.

Tipsy Chef popped up on Tik Tok and I thought ‘let’s give it a go!’ Managed to get a train from Lancaster that hadn’t been cancelled and fought the rain to get to the market….well worth it!! Smash Burger was excellent and full of flavour, nice crispy edges along with Pork Belly Bao…wow! Pointless getting a Diet Coke!!! Very flavoursome meal and well worth the short journey! Back on the next train, sated !!!! Every credit to the service, speed and freshness!

Me and my husband visited Tipsy Chef for the first time at the weekend. We ordered the Korean fried chicken bao buns, salt and pepper hash browns, double fried chicken burger and fries. Everything was amazing! Looking forward to coming back and tasting some cocktails in future.

My husband had seen this place on a food review and so whilst visiting Preston we tracked it down and wow it was amazing! We ordered the sharing platter with some added chicken strips and this fed 3 of us. Great flavours and decent in size, small area of seating as it is in the indoor market but time well and you will grab a seat or as they are served in take away boxes, just go find somewhere to sit outside! Amazing little place and will defiantly come again when up in Preston!

I’ve visited the market site of Tipsy chef before and it was outstanding! Genuinely the best burger I’ve ever eaten; and anyone that knows me knows I like my food. However the restaurant takes things to another dimension! From the tunes, to atmosphere, to the cocktails and of course the outstanding food! This is an experience not to be missed! To hear my 73yr old mother order a “porn hub mojito please” was an unusual highlight tbf but make the whole experience more memorable!The Mac and cheese side with spicy chicken is mid blowing! absolutely incredible, my go to spot whenever I go to preston, thank god I live near by ! I'm in love with the Korea town burger it's to die for x and the bao buns are perfectly soft and crispy, recommended to everyone I know! Burgers to die for! But extremely but crikey, it was good. We ate in the market so a little cramped considering how many of us there were but I would definitely recommend a visit. The food was gorg and sent us all into a food coma when went back into work. Highly recommend and will be back.

Been here a good few times. Always fresh food and perfect each time. Very repeatable with quality so ends up being our go-to place for weekly going out because it doesn't disappoint. Most outstanding for me is really short waiting time.
