Visited with a friend as we fancied somewhere a bit different. Nicely decorated with a cosy Spanish feel. Staff were friendly and conversational. When we went it was £8.50 for three dishes, which makes for a very decent meal and the food was all very pleasant - my friend had the mussels which were particularly generous. The only slight let down was the chocolate fondue for two people, which consisted mainly of chopped apple and banana, and could have been more generous with the strawberries/churros at almost £10. But overall very good value and a solid choice for anyone bored of pizza/pasta/burger.

I have been to tintos a few times over the last few years .... twice I have been disappointed however went again last month and semi-enjoyed it ..... I was asked to go again recently and being local and having a lot of hope for the place I returned. Food is awful ... one waiter as always and one person at the bar. I tried to get the waiters attention to pass feedback however was ignored .... which isn't their fault as they are very busy due to the constant lack of staff ... not a nice meal. It's a real pitty as the scenery is lovely! Management need to do something in the last hope to save the place !

I came here with 2 girlfriends for dinner and drinks and we left the restaurant disappointed. I grew up in Spain and know enough about Spanish Cuisine to know that the tapas were not great but I would have overlooked this if I would not have felt harassed and under time pressure. My friend, who had booked the restaurant, had not been advised that there is a strict time set per guests/table. We wanted to spend our evening in the restaurant with plenty of food and drinks however after about an hour were told we don't have much time left. From then I actually noticed how all the other guests, when shown to their table, were immediately told: "here are the menus, you have 1h30m at the table"... not very welcoming if you ask me. I understand the restaurant needs to plan for the night and given the small space needs to have more strict times but sorry, that is not enough time for a comfortable dinner. We had wine, cocktails, numerous tapas dishes per head and wanted to enjoy some dessert/coffees, etc. instead our time was up... and you know what, we won't be coming back. Growing up in Spain, even in very touristy hot spots I have never ever experienced such pressure when enjoying dinner. I worked in restaurants myself during uni and have never seen this before.

Went to another restaurant of this chain in the South side of Glasgow which was OK so I thought I'd try this one for 5 pm pre-theatre meal. The inside is done up like a small family Spanish restaurant and is very pleasant. The staff were nice and attentive. It was the food - nothing horrible but all lacking flavour. Pil -Pil prawns just about hot enough in temperature but not in spice. A luke warm Spanish omelette again with no flavour - humus roughly mashed but again no flavour. Same story for my other half - tough duck breasts (that is the dish by the way) hard-as-iron flatbread and meatballs that needed reheated - all bland. I am not sure if these dishes are pre-prepared but they do not taste like the real Spanish thing. Ice cream and wine were OK.

Dined at Tintos several years ago and had a great meal: delicious dishes, prompt and attentive service - in all pretty impressive. Big mistake to hope to repeat the experience at the weekend: one very rushed and harassed waiter, ( pleasant though), and a very young girl who also was pleasant but totally clueless. 8.00.pm. Unlit candles on all tables, ceiling lights on full, glasses piling up on the bar only third or so of tables occupied. We know why...food was ok...fairly tasty, portions pretty small, dry and slightly wilted salad on most plates, everything had the appearance of being quickly dolloped onto dishes..no extra serving spoons of forks, had to ask several times for basics like bread and water..They were trying hard but the whole place had the strong sense of doing things on a shoestring and with not enough experience, time or attention.Disappointing evening.

Booked for 11 people 29/12 for my birthday. No mean feat having 11x 3 Tapas dishes ready at the same time, however when taking the booking they should have been prepared for this. Would have scored this lower if the manager hadn't given us my mums dinner and the coffee gratis. Saying that have been with 2/3 people and was excellent just clearly not geared up for a large booking so if you're making one please check they can cope. Our main complaint was some of the party were finished and mum didn't have one dish yet. There was only one waitress and she was doing her best but also got some of the orders wrong and we didn't have the heart to tell her. What we did get was excelllent quality Tapas and a great choice on the 3 for £9.50 menu. The manager was obviously alert to our concerns and was really nice to mum which along with the freebies did make up for the service. All of the other divers were in smalller parties and didn't seem to have any problems. Most restaurants would also ask with such a big booking if it was a special occasion but no one did -thankfully I'm old enough it doesn't matter and wasn't one of the youngsters at the table's birthday

Visited with a group of seven friends on the 5pm deal: 3 tapas and a glass of wine for £10.50. Deal in itself if fantastic. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food and was good to see a good variety of food on the table. The only thing I felt was a tad slow was the service. The waiter took a while to take our drinks order. Half way thorough our food we were ready for another but they never really checked on us as most places would so had to get his attention to order more drinks.

Found Tinto Tapas in Glasgow West End by chance when couldn't, get a table in the usual go to tapas restaurant off of Byres Road and my friend had spotted it from her bus a short while ago. What a delight. The staff were very friendly and helpful in this little eateries although one of our ordered dishes was incorrect, the mistake was tasty so was forgiven. I couldn't believe the value for money as seven dishes ordered, two aperitifs, one bottle of wine and two after dinner liqueurs came to just over 60 pounds. It may not have been Michelin star quality but it was tasty and honest. Will definitely go back and maybe test out the paella which is the real test. Lots of ambience too and for the first time in a while I left feeling sated but not bloated. Plenty to choose from the extensive menu. As long as you're not a food snob this restaurant should be visited.

Two stars on this review - 4/5 for service, 0 for the kitchen. I've had really nice food in here before, but not today when we visited in the afternoon. Staff had been so helpful with the buggy, so thanks to both waiters, but unfortunately, won't be going back based on dreadful food. No point in complaining, as 4 out of 5 diners were not happy with the food, so just one of those days where you vote with your feet. Even the salad was heavily seasoned, both Lamb Casseroles were so sweet they were sickly, and not warm enough. Seafood casserole had two prawns and two bits of fish, and none of the descriptions of the food matched the menu, no roast veg etc. Just an awful experience all round. I've recommended this place in the past as well.

Myself and my wife ate here twice in two weeks such was the success of the first visit with friends. A 5pm deal meant we got 3 Tapas dishes plus Sangria/Soft Drink or Glass of House wine for £7.95. The price aside the quality of the food was on a par if not better than any Tapas I have had in Glasgow so paying less than a Tenner for 3 dishes almost feels like robbery. I had the pig cheeks, the Spanish black pudding (which has to be tried) and the meatballs and I could fault none of them. The restaurant is rustic looking and decorated with traditional Spanish decor which adds to the authenticity of Tinto. The menu has plenty of choice without being overwhelming and the service was friendly and quick. Even better than this on a Tuesday night all dishes are £1.50 and we were lucky enough to walk in and get a table but being a small restaurant I would book first and find yourself a hidden gem in the west end.

All 6 dishes we ordered were delicious especially the ribs and the portion sizes just right; we had bread & oils for starters and a litre of house red wine which was also good and the whole meal cost under £33. Wish I had taken a picture, it was very rustic decor and while there a Spanish tourist arrived and he was also impressed! Says it all really. Will hurray back as we visited another tapas restaurant a few weeks ago( not a chain) and the meal was in excess of £65. Waiting staff were quite adept at ignoring tables, and when our order was eventually taken we waited another half hour before any of the dishes, including olives and bread, arrived. Just enjoyed a fantastic late lunch at Tinto. Popped in to escape the rain, we were the only customers at first, but the service was great and the food (despite the vast menu) was really fresh and tasty. We chose from the 'main meals' section rather than the tapas (battered cod with a lovely homemade tartar and pan-fried seabream, both with patatas bravas) and were delighted with our choices. Even the mixed olives to nibble on while we waited for the mains were absolutely delicious. The churros were unusually crispy but worked really well with the phenomenal chocolate dipping sauce, and the tarta de Santiago was really moist and delicious. A variety of drinks on top all came in for under £30 so great value for money. I will be heading back as soon as possible.

Neither staff member acknowledged us, I had to actually try catch the male staff member's eye and say hi to him. The portions were so tiny, together 5 tapas would've made up a small dinner plate. I was thinking they would be cafe anduluz size, so was not expecting that.

I have visited tinto tapas before and really enjoyed it but the circumstances for my visit this time round (our original choice of restaurant was double booked) were different. Tinto did not let us down. Lively atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff and amazing food (the beef strips were my favourite). Value was extraordinary for a party of 4 on a Saturday night. I'll definitely be returning to this little taste of espanol!

Being Partick born and bred and also having a great love for Spain I was delighted to see a tapas bar. Over the years I've eaten many tapas here and in Spain ( as my waistline will testify) . The interior was nicely done with dark wood. The menu impressed with a unusual and interesting selection that you could easily find in Spain. It was difficult to just select 3 each. We had the hummus and pitta bread with carrot and celery sticks. The meat and cheese board was generous .the gambas pil pil could have have been more sizzling but the pata negra ribs fell off the bone and melted in the mouth with a sweet sticky sauce. The rabbit was also very good in a delicious sauce. The house wine was reasonable and very drinkable. All in all we'll be back to sample the rest of the menu.

We visited Tinto Tapas for the first time on Saturday night. The place was cosy and welcoming. The staff were very friendly and the service was good. The food was good but the pincho moruno were very sparse compared to other tapas restaurants we've been to. The patatas bravas with garlic and rosemary were fab as were the ribs., so well cooked that the meat fell from the bone. All very yummy. And worth another visit.

My fiance & I took our 8 month old son here for lunch on the spur of the moment after visiting the nearby farmers' market. We ended up having an absolutely delicious lunch, in warm, relaxed surroundings. The food was excellent quality & the lunchtime deal of three tapas for £7.95 is extremely good value. The staff were friendly, helpful & good with our baby.

My fellow foodie lover pal introduced me to the delights of Tapas. I had three tasty treat that tantalised my taste buds. Served with sauces that were superb. The size of the portions were massive, I struggled to do them justice, they were just to good to leave any part uneaten. Extensive selection, fortunately my food buddy was able to recommend dishes she knew I would enjoy. This venue will be my first choice for all my future lunches in the West End and such excellent value for money. The staff certainly know how to make their customers welcome.

We knew of this restaurant immediately opposite the Lismore Pub in Hyndland street and cannot recommend it enough for lovely tapas, very well priced and great staff. Jimmy and Kirsty are always very up beat even when the place is quiet, Eddy the chef is amazingly adept at authentic tapas and his specials are definitely worth sampling.

We had our family lunch here on Christmas day and it was lovely. Having eaten out at various places on christmas day for over 30 years we have often been let down by the quality of food but not at Tinto Tapas. The food was plentiful and delicious and unlike some didn't appear mass produced. Everything was fresh and beautifully presented. In addition the staff were excellent. And all in all it was amazing value given it was Christmas day. One more thing ... The chorizo pigs in blankets were quite possibly the best thing we had ever tasted ... And that was the opinion of all of us! Get them on the regular menu at once!

Enjoyed a shared tapas lunch here on a wild and wet Wednesday. Good value from a large and interesting tapas selection. Main meals looked good too, perhaps for another occasion. Staff friendly and atmosphere cosy.

Tinto Tapas West End is an excellent choice for a leisurely tasty meal. Great menu choices - 2/3 courses for set price, soup and filled tortilla wrap or 3 tapas for set price which varies depending on day. All menus good value and tapas one is varied and extensive. Service is cheerful, non intrusive and there is no feeling of being rushed.

We visited with friends on their recommendation. Whilst two of the party decided to pick 3 tapas each, two of us chose the paella for two and one extra dish each. I agree with a previous reviewer that the food came within 10 minutes which is a bit disconcerting. The two of our party who chose 3 tapas each enjoyed their food albeit the portions were tiny. The paella that my girlfriend and I chose was more like a tasteless risotto. I have eaten authentic paella in Spain, Barca in Princes Square which was yummy and cooked one following the Delia Smith recipe which is really good, but this one had no colour to it, no spices and was just bland, even putting salt on it didn't help. When the waiter came to clear our plates I did tell him the paella was tasteless but he couldn't have cared less. The only thing I did enjoy was the sweet, Tinto Tinto which is vanilla and chocolate ice cream homemade tablet pieces with fresh whipped cream and hot fudge sauce!

Authentic tapas dishes, fresh ingredients and very reasonable prices, especially at lunchtime, make this place a very popular addition to Hyndland Street. It can be busy at weekends so it might be wise to book, but you can usually get a table at other times.

Quirky little restaurant with a family atmosphere. If you’re after fine dining, it’s probably not the place but if you’re looking for authentic Spanish food and hospitality then look no more! Guillermo and his daughter are super friendly and helpful, definitely worth checking out

Never been here before and I thought overall it was pretty good. I've been lucky to have eaten a lot of Tapas style food in Spain over the years and having recently eaten at Rioja also in Glasgow I was tempering my enthusiasm (Rioja is very good)So Friday night, not that busy but food was good. I'm not that keen on Paprika and I found that to be used a fair bit, beef quality could have been better. However wine was fantastic, and price I'm not kidding was half that of Rioja3* Average is maybe a bit harsh, I would go back and for £15 a head for food the value cannot be beaten.

Went late on Sunday night and the staff were still so accommodating and the kitchen was still fantastic even though we were the only people in! Food is great and wine is fantastic and so cheap!! I've not been here in years and the food and service has not changed - one of my favourite tapas' restaurants in Glasgow. This is a 5 min taxi from Glasgow central - make the trip, you won't be disappointed!
