Malaga Tapas in Glasgow City

The service was disastrous. Grabbed a booked table at 19:45 and we only got the first tapas at 20:40, one hour after that we managed to get the attention of one of the waiters and got the bill. Some drinks didn't even make it to the table, my glass of water had bits in it. The food wasn't too bad, although I think you can find better Spanish food in Glasgow. I'll save my money and spend it on actual spanish food while my next trip to Spain.

Food is a four because a lot of hubby's muscles were closed. Staff and atmosphere excellent...will be back x

Best place in glasgow for me food wise but service was crap . Requested a missing dish 3 times....table cleared..ready to leave...dish got brought out...ended up in a plastic container to take home..not how a dinner should be served. Courtesy would have been to remove it from bill but...disappointed...food as always tho...amazing.

Service was shambolic, they need more staff to keep up with demand! We waited 1 hour for our starter to arrive (humus with bread sticks, which isn’t difficult to make). A table who arrived later than us received their food before us & the table beside up got free starters for a delay but we got nothing. When the tapas finally arrived, was actually pretty decent. But we won’t be back in a hurry.

Bearsden - very small inside with a very slippy floor. You could easily slip down the flight of stairs which is close to the door so be careful. Cramped seating - they've obviously tried to ram as many punters in as possible. When you're trying to eat the neighbouring table are barking into your ear. The food is alright and that's it. Padron peppers were very salty, nice enough but immediate indigestion. Patatas bravas were ok but basically only a teaspoon of sauce. I'm not affronted as I often am by such places but I'll not be back

We visited their restaurant in Bearsden (not listed separately but at 156 Milngavie Rd) and had an excellent meal. The Cazuela Marisco was the star dish for me, but all 8 we chose were very good indeed. It is, however, a very small building and they pack the tables in very tightly. And limit you to a 90 minute visit. But if that's fine with you, you should visit and enjoy great food.

Had read previous reviews and they were spot on. Every tapas dish was authentic and super tasty. Great value for money, one of the best tapas I've ever had!

On my latest evening visit to this establishment (14/072024) has entirely put me off returning for another visit. The restaurant was left in the supervision of an inexperienced juvenile member of staff by the owners. No senior experienced members of staff made available to supervise proceedings. The service was shambolic. The table that my wife had reserved earlier that day was occupied by two staff members. The kitchen was woefully understaffed for a predictably busy trading evening. The food fell way short of the usual high standards. The owners have lost the custom of two very loyal customers. Shame on you.

This was our second visit to Bearsden and the reason we came back was because we absolutely loved our first visit ! The selection of tapas is amazing and they also have some excellent daily specials as well. The service was very good and the staff who served us were very friendly. The first time we went we ordered 4 tapas to start with but the tables are very small so the space is very tight especially when you also have a bottle of wine and water so this time we just ordered 2 each time and that was perfect ! Looking forward so much to our next visit !

Visited Bearsden for the first time with family as had heard good things about it. Definitely didn’t disappoint. Good atmosphere, great staff, fantastic selection of food & drinks! We were a party of 6 and the food came on good time & was super tasty! We will be back!

Never been to Spain, but if the food is like this then I'm booking my flight tonight. Top notch specials. There can be live music, which is loud for the small venue. They do warn you on the day if this is the case. This did mean, however, I couldn't hear what my annoying relatives were saying across the table, so I'll let you decide if that's not for you

I was there last weekend whilst in Glasgow for the day, and was recommended this place. Honestly top tier food and drink. Prices very good too, and the staff were very friendly! 10/10

Hands down the best meal I've ever had. Every tapas dish I had was incredible, with a lovely atmosphere also which is a bonus. Can't wait to come back, was already planning my next visit before I had even left! Staff were super friendly.

Beautiful food in a lovely place

Absolutely delicious food - huge variety and prompt service. Great to try things I wouldn't tried if it hadn't been lots of small plates. Waiter was great. And it's on my doorstep! The street it's on doesn't look very promising but don't be put off. It's great - and easy parking too. Will definitely be back.

This family run restaurant has home made hearty delicious food with amazing tastes. We had the scallops, crequetas, sea bass, fried aubergine drizzled with honey and bread and olive oil. Absolutely amazing The Macabello wine from Villa Real is very pleasant, dry with citrusy tones. The restaurant also has a branch in Clarkston and both are absolute delights. Staff are amazingly friendly, personable and chatty. The chef Susan probably has a Michelin star :-)

I'm originally from Spain and finally j can say this is by far the best snd most genuine spanish restaurant in Glasgow. I went with my partner last Saturday and as usual was packed and to be honest I'm not surprised. I ve been there many times and certainly I will go back. Susan the chef five stars. My favourite tapas croquettes, seabass,aubergine with honey. Thanks guys!

I was really excited to go as I love tapas but sadly I left really disappointed and will not return or recommend. Firstly the menu stuck to the table however we ordered several dishes and excited at the prospect of delicious Spanish cuisine. The aubergine fritters were delicious. Patatas braves had to be sent back as cold inside, the replacement wasn't much better. The beef was chewy, chicken overcooked, croquettas were heavy and again cold inside, we didn't finish the sardines and the prawns were just floating in tepid oil. The staff were lovely and did apologise with the bill reflecting our disappointment. I hope they can improve and wish them well

This is an absolutely excellent restaurant with authentic Spanish tapas prepared by chefs who are actually from Malaga. The food is first-class with a wide range of dishes to choose from, the service is unfailingly friendly, and there an informal and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended.

We visited as a group of 22 people. From the second we walked in the atmosphere and greeting from the staff was exceptional. The service was spot on, making sure we were well looked after with drinks and starters coming out right away. We were very impressed with the authentic tapas, part of our group were a family from Andalusia and they could not praise the food enough, highly recommend the Paella de Mariscos. It is an absolute must to visit, you will not find better tapas in Scotland!

Went to the new Malaga Tapas site in Bearsden with my husband and elderly mum tonight. She has mobility issues and difficulty walking and the staff were beyond helpful with getting her into the restaurant and settled . The service was excellent and attentive ( always with a smile), the food was lovely and we will definitely be back. We have travelled widely in Andalusia and the food here we found to be very authentic. With the Spanish music playing in the background we felt like we were back in Spain.

Very quiet early evening during the week. Service helpful and attentive. Easy to pick a number of vegetarian tapas. Aubergine fritters and veg paella were the stars of the show.

Went here on New Year’s Eve and the food was superb, If you like authentic Spanish tapas which we do you will love this place I’ve eaten a lot of tapas on my travels Seville, Cordoba, Malaga & Nerja and have to say this beats anything I’ve had in those places Four of us dined and we shared around 12 different dishes they were all fabulous We shared a couple of bottles of red also “Piqueras” which was excellent All in all a great dining experience can’t wait to go back!

An unusual night, but smashed out of the park by fantastic service. We were literally out for a walk, late and in the cold, fancied a drink and a snack, a restaurant was probably not the right choice (but it was really cold). The Málaga Tapas guys could not have been nicer, full table service, chat and banter, even though we had a range of Bravas and a Beer....but made feel like we were "special" guests..... Will be back just because we were made feel so welcome.

Visited the Bearsden restaurant last night. Food was amazing!!!!!! Service was really excellent and staff friendly and helpful Asked for a brandy and it came heated, as it should :))))) so good I had another one. We thought the prices were spot on for the food, most drinks were priced absolutely fine, thought the wine was a little overpriced. Little bit cramped unfortunately, we did get moved for various reasons and the second table was actually more spacious due to where it was situated. Overall a fantastic night with a great atmosphere, and will definitely be back next month. Pls keep up this standard as at the moment the best restaurant in Bearsden and Milngavie. Start doing home deliveries also :)

I was there on Saturday night. The first thing the waiter did was apologise for the noise. It’s a small place and they had two tables with over 12 people. Some of them excessively noisy for such a small place. They should have politely asked them to reduce the volume slightly instead of apologise to their other guests about it.

A must try in Glasgow! Always a lovely meal in here with great staff, nothing is a bother and the food is delicious. Can't wait to come back and try even more dishes from the menu.

Been to Bearsden and St Andrews road restaurants a couple of times and had fantastic experiences in both. Food is amazing and staff are always happy to accommodate you and very friendly. Happy to see they now have online booking as well. Will definitely be returning in the near future

This review pertains to the Bearsden restaurant. Cramped and overpriced - wish I’d listened to others that had been here. Worst dining experience of my entire life. Left me sick to my stomach. So stressed out after being hustled from the moment we arrived. DO NOT EAT HERE unless you want to throw your food and drink down your neck in 90 minutes flat. Website should tell you this terrible policy before you book. We had not had dessert or were even close to finishing drinks and we get a 15 minute warning. Then because I am clearly wearing a displeased look on my face at being turfed out before our group was ready, immediately upon exiting the premises, a member of staff comes out behind our group and bawls at me in the street - essentially calling me a brat! This world has really gone downhill.

A bit disappointing. Friends had raved about this place, and we were excited to try. It didn’t measure up. Full disclosure; heavy snow in Glasgow. We were booked for 6; Ubers kept cancelling. At 5.55pm we fave up and decided to walk. Called and said...

Best tapas in Glasgow! Friendly service, authentic dishes - fresh and tasty. The sangria is spot on too. We met as two couples with a baby, staff were very accommodating. Highly recommend the Crème Brûlée dessert. Can’t wait to return!

Amazing food and service best Spanish in Glasgow

Just visited this evening after 3 weeks in Spain, and couldn't fault any of the food, it was molto bueno! As good as anything I've had recently in quality native restaurants. Good value, don't mind paying for quality, and I'll definitely be back. Only sorry that I've not been before now.

After 3 weeks in Ireland and Scotland, this was our best dinner experience. Food was amazing, staff was super attentive. The lamb was our favorite!

Thoroughly enjoy the excellent good and friendly, familiar service every time I eat at either Clarkson or Pollokshields. Excited to see MT open in Bearsden soon too. The Presa special is a must order.

Malaga Tapas blew my mind and my tastebuds. The food tastes exceptional and authentic. The chorizo was my favourite. The atmosphere was cozy and home-like. Service was great! Very welcoming and humble staff. Not afraid to say that I have been back 3 times during my trip. Would absolutely recommend.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this place. The food was excellent and the service was great. Plenty of seating available including an outdoor area if the weather is good. Extensive wine and drink options, lots of different food options as well. Prices were reasonable. There was also a specials board on the wall. Highly recommend the fish, it was fantastic. I would come back to try the dishes I didn't the first time round. Overall a great experience.

Fantastic authentic Spanish food in the south side! Great service. Only thing I wish was that food was delivered as ready instead of all at the same time. Great value for money. The beef with the sherry sauce was unreal and the sauce itself you have to get bread to dip in, it's fantastic Would definitely recommend and visit again.

Fantastic local restaurant. The menu has all the classic tapas dishes. And a specials board. Our food was delicious. Staff are extremely helpful. Great prices for both food and wine. We also had room for dessert, and the almond cake was amazing 👏 😋 😍

We got 9 dishes between 3 people. All great and very tasty. Possibly slightly salty but that may be more about the food we picked. Nice selection of wines. Daily specials board with some extra choices. We only had mains, no dessert. As good as anything I've had in Spain. I will definitely be back.

Love Malaga Tapas, any excuse to go here. Staff and food are always really great. The Calamari and Pinchos Morunos are a firm favourite.

Passed this place many times but eventually dined here, great experience, super fresh made on the spot, king prawns in chilli oil, amazing, calamari brilliant, soft and perfect, pillo burgos (chicken) lovely, patatas bravas excellent, tortilla special, tasty, basket of bread, 2 pints of madri...

Superior tapas to some we've had in Spain! Gambas pil pil, berenjenas con miel, pinchos moruños, tapa de paella con pollo, pimientos padron... all excellent! Splendidly washed down with pints of Madri and copas de rioja crianza tinto. Awesome! Great atmosphere too plus friendly and fast service. Wish this was near where we live, lucky people!🇪🇦😃

Really good Spanish restaurant, great for tapas and paella. Very good selection of sherries and some nice Spanish wines. Reasonable prices and friendly staff. Ten minutes walk from the Tramway.

Food was spot on very authentic service that evening was a little slow but we weren't in a rush!
