Tins Willow Garden in Colchester

Delicious tofu with chilli and and salt, delicious aubergine in black bean sauce and delicious udon noodles with vegetables. Really nice to have access to a local Chinese take away that has a varied selection of tofu dishes and vegan dishes - will use again.

Ate here a few times and every single time amazed at the helpfulness from staff. Wide range of selection to choose from. Definitely recommend

have had takeaway twice in two weeks. it is excellent. the menu is so extensive and the food is very different. we have tried the rice meal for one , mixed meat curry with prawns, sweet and sour cantonese chicken , sweet and sour chicken balls , special chop suey . all were very tasty and lots of meat in them. the curry is very tasty and an unusal taste , i can recommend all of the dishes .

Easily the best Chinese takeaway in Colchester!! We’ve been using a Tins for over 15 years and the food is always hot, fresh and delicious. Over the years, Pierre the chef has really catered for veggies and vegans too and we have enjoyed some dishes made especially which he now has a whole menu of. The chilli, garlic salt tofu is superb and our absolute favourite!! My partner who eats meat has also enjoyed a variety of dishes which he always enjoys. Delivery is always fast and the menu is very reasonably priced. The nicest restaurant and best takeaway!

We went along for a takeaway for 4 on Friday evening 15/09/17. It was ready on time, the food was excellent, our friends for London are very fussy, but even they said it was good! Every thing was fresh and good quality, we couldn't fault it and it's very reasonably priced. We will return, it will be worth the 12 mile drive because it's so much nicer than our local takeaways.

What can I say....most excellent food, cooked to order and of excellent quality and taste. We having been using them for years and the quality has remained very high. No reservations in recommended....

Absolutely fantastic take away... highly recommend !!! The chef at this place is extremely passionate about cooking and you can see this from the quality of the food !! they source fresh meat from around the area and have a fantastic hygiene rating which is always important to me! There are also a huge variety of the chefs special's which are his own recipes and I couldn't recommend these more... they are better than any restaurant quality you can find in colchester. I think you can only order these from in the shop as they are all over the walls.. not on the standard printed menu. They also have a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan meals which is great for me as my partner is a vegan! Great customer service and nice to see a such passion in a take away... highly recommend ! From my own experience, I've never had a bad meal here!

I have been having the most wonderful Chinese food delivered from Tins every weekend for around 15 years & although I've tried other restaurants from time to time in the past they have all been disappointing compared to Tins. We are always greeted with happy & helpful staff, Tin & his wife usually who do all the main cooking for the restaurant. If we have Food delivered it is usually quick & within 30minutes. The prices have barely changed in years & you get good sized portions. All meat & vegetables are of a high quality & in all the years I have been eating Tins food I can honestly say that the quality & taste never varies, always excellent. Tin has told us that he appreciates our custom over all these years which you don't often get. I can honestly recommend Tins for a perfect Chinese where price, quality & taste are excellent.

Been using this place for years and can honestly say I've never had a bad meal, the staff are friendly and the service is quick, the menu is extensive with lots of traditional dishes to select, you can see through to the kitchen which looks clean and tidy, averages prices tasty food,

This Chinese take away has an extensive menu and includes various locally sourced lamb dishes, also Japanese noodle dishes and various other countries dishes. Also they will provide alternative ingredients (i.e add or subtract garlic, ginger, chillies etc). also on request they will do single (half) portions of all dishes. excellent food and very good value & easy parking.

Stuck on the wrong side of town we thought we'd try this place, how bad could it be? Should have guessed by the fact that the place was empty 7pm on a Friday that something was up.... The place stank of old cooking oil for a start. Over cooked prawn crackers. Ok prawn toast. Shredded crispy beef that wasn't crispy at all and smelt of vinegar, hiding old food? Fried rice that was just a bit stodgy and bland. Special chow mien wasn't bad but very brown and just had one flavour all over. Chicken in yellow bean was the best of the meal but had the same smell as the rest. Over all a real let down of a Chinese.

What I love about Tin's is that they remember you and treat you as a valued customer - just as importantly is the food. Living near Mersea Island, I love fish and seafood and the specials at Tin's often include a selection of beautifully prepared dishes incorporating that. Lamb ribs? Oh my gosh, they were gorgeous! Although I love the 'Delicious spare ribs' just as much, which are really well priced and so tender. The salt and pepper squid gets my Sri Lankan hubby's approval, and he loves that they adjust the spices and chilli levels to just how he likes it. The King Prawn Balls.. big, juicy prawns in a thick batter - yum! I really appreciate that they de-vein the prawns too; not often the case in my experience of take-away food. Roll on summer when they do amazing things with mussels! The set meals are varied and many.. Tin's are happy to discuss substituting a dish with something else that you'd prefer. Lovely staff, smashing chef.. give it a go!
