Timothy's Restaurant in Cotswold

Very dissapointing, first thing we saw was sign staff shortages 🫣we found a table for 2 sat down waited patiently, staff hurrying in and out , of kitchen, came to us took order, we sat for 20mins coffee came very good, waited another 15mins for food Baked potatoes with prawns, potatoe not cooked enough still quite hard, and the prawn and sauce very thin and vinagary🙄my husband had the burger not to bad but the onion over done and the burger a bit too pink for his liking. A visit about a month ago was even worse, we arrived for breakfast 2 coffee's and 2 bacon baps ordered, coffee's drunk, waited over an hour, left without breakfast completely useless service don't know what's gone wrong here but need to sort it out used to be great place breakfast , lunch etc, wouldn't be able to recommend these day's. Shame.

Good food and normal price. The service good. But you have to warn that it is very cold in the restaurant and it is not because of the door that opens and closes, it is because they have the cold air conditioning on, with large jets of cold air descending on your head.

There was a dead fly in my bacon, brie and cranberry panini. The panini was removed from the bill when I pointed this out.

Came in. Sat down. Looked at the prices. Stood up. Walked out.

Just one moan - please try and keep the dog friendly tables free for people with dogs only!!

Great food especially the toasties and sausage sandwich very good value for the money, first time round very friendly member of staff took our order but the second time I think she could have done with a happy pill as it came across that she didn't want to be there, but still a nice place to visit..

Always a great selection to choose from food is always well presented tasty and piping hot the coffee is lovely one of our favourites in the area An added bonus today is we got to see Danny such a delight always greets us with a warm welcome As do all the colleagues here so helpful and kind 2 happy customers here 😊😊

The food was lovely ! There was loads of different options which I greatly appreciated, the food was hot and had lots of flavour. My children were amazed by the large variety of drinks they could pick from and were very happy. Staff were also lovely to us and we had a lovely experience!

Great food, lots of healthy options, good value for money. Amazing herbal tea, it wasnt the cheap bags, it was the dried pieces in a decent sized diffuser. Bit slow at the tills, which was disappointing but otherwise, very good. Would dine there again xx

Better than the usual cafe. On a par with high quality restaurant.

Such a shame visit terrible lots of reserved tables so none for those wanting tables it's a garden centre not a posh restaurant why have reserved tables in the first place! So we all left without a cup of tea and any lunch 🤢 we were not the only ones disappointed with the state of the service here.

Menu a bit complicated not as well laid out as other blue diamonds.to keen to take order to soon .so e nd up with something you don t really want.

The restaurant is currently being refurbished, so only filter coffee available, which was good.We had poached eggs on toast I requested medium to well done, slightly undercooked for my taste. Would still recommend 😊

Very little in the way of vegetarian options.

Lovely Manger and staff clean like the fact that they came and took your order my friend is in a wheelchair and could get round easy. Also, they take cash now . Food very good.

Some of our favourite foods have disappeared off the menu since the Blue Diamond takeover, which is a little disappointing. What I did have wasn't as well cooked, hence my lower rating.

Hadn't visited for a while. Table service now, which was quick. Lovely setting with tree in the middle. There's outside seating but it was too cold this time of year. Sausage cob was perfect. For those who fancy cake there's plenty of choice

Used to be called "Timothy's Restaurant" but since being taken over by the Blue Diamond organisation it's now called the "Fossway Restaurant" and unfortunately, the menu has changed as well meaning not the great choice there used to be. I suppose they call it progress?

Good service, very nice restaurant, pleasant experience.

Lovely coffee, tasty cake, very nice chips and lots of filling in the panini. Friendly and efficient staff too. Very good.

Keep going back as parents favourite place. Has been taken over by Blue diamond group so had good expectations. Can't book. Free for all as to where to seat. No meet and greet. Find a seat and wait and wait and wait. Noisey and nice quieter area chaired off with tacky note saying reserved private function.in fact thus is always up. Eventually lack lustre waitress took order.. Unable to pay post order and had to get up and Q behind others at a till. Food and coffee slow to arrive. 9 95 for jkt spud with chilli expensive. Spud small Couldn't taste chilli Avocado and sour cream had melted as obviously whole thing micro waved. There was so much butter on spud that was all you could taste. Staff looked stressed and not a smile between them. No one came back to ask if everything OK. When meal arrived came without utensils. Menu not as interesting as before. Shame expected better.

Just be aware if you go on a Sunday all that is served is rost I was disapinted as I have never been somewhere that dus this

Understaffed. Not wishing to complain at the servers... but the management for having these people run ragged. Way too many settings for the staff number. My food was nice. Another meal was really skimpy on salad leaves and thr goats cheese obviously just came out if the fridge. So too cold. Alright but there were probably better places to eat close by at comparable costs but better food quality.

I have been here many times but is now under new management we sat down chose our food it took 35 mins to come and they were sandwiches then they got the order wrong the staff were very surly with no apologies won't be eating there again

Absolutely incredible. I don't understand how a restaurant in a garden centre can be better than any other restaurant around for miles but Timothy's just is! Definitely coming back here again!

Cracking tasting food, lovely and clean and friendly staff

Fabulous food, a good range for all tastes. Sunday lunch for us was roast beef and gammon meals, plenty of everything. Outside seating is also available with some undercover. Good service and quick delivery of meals even though it was quite busy. Spacious restaurant felt uncrowded and was bright and clean. If there was one downer it was the large cage of meal accompaniments which on a table for two impinged a bit, but I suppose it has to go somewhere. Will definitely go again in the near future.

Food delicious. Asked if they did non smoked option. They said no problem and that's what I had with a jacket potato and the home slaw. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her cornish pasty with bubble and squeak

Lots of space. Very clean. Excellent food. Had fish with good sized salad instead of chips. Fish was huge and delicious.

The restaurant is always clean, warm with friendly service. Food is well cooked and presented. Glad you stopped using those rectangular plates, we were able to cut our food on the plate this time.... The coffee is also served hot and never bitter. Worth a visit for breakfast or lunch. WiFi is also quick if having business to do.

My wife and I had lunch at Timothy’s upon arriving in the Cotswolds. The garden centre and restaurant had been recommended to us, and it’s easy to see why. We both ordered the coronation chicken on naan bread, which arrived within five minutes and was absolutely delicious, not to mention very good value. We would definitely eat here again as there were lots of other options on the menu. Excellent.

Late Mother's Day lunch on the Monday, great food,service & lots of choice. Had a huge flowerpot of Whitebait.

At times the food has been under standard. Mostly though the food is served of good standard so like anywhere cant get it right every time. As I'm a vegetarian I can't speak for all the food on the menu. The staff are always very accommodating. Friendly and helpful. If you visit the garden centre then definitely worth a drink at least.

It was good service and nice food

Crazily busy when we called in on our way through to Dorset. Now has table service and is well and truly extended since we first started calling in a few years ago. It's clearly very popular but ... far far too busy for us now, noisy simply with the amount of families/people, and we had a 10 min wait for a table, and a 25 min wait after ordering for our coffee and scones ... so maybe no longer the place to call in for a break on our way through. Usual garden centre prices ... always a bit more than your standard cafe/restaurant, but definitely not a peaceful stopover. Staff lovely, toilets etc welcome.

This restaurant is part of Fosseway garden centre so it's a great place to visit and in-between shopping you can enjoy great food and drink

Service was horrendous. Took 1/2 hour for coffee and cake, and it wasn't busy. Food is good, though a touch expensive. Coffee when it arrived was incorrect and cold so had to be remade. Shame it's a good garden centre. It was quicker when you just ordered coffee yourself at the counter rather than waiting for table service.

Not for the first time, we were left underwhelmed by our recent visit for breakfast. We ordered scrambled eggs on toast and porridge with fruit compote. Firstly, the two items didn’t arrive at the table together (always annoying). Secondly, the eggs were underdone - the whites of the eggs runny. The porridge came in a cardboard pot - the kind of thing you can buy in a supermarket - and was undercooked; the oats were chewy. The ‘compote’ turned out to be a small plastic pot of rather stiff raspberry jam. To be fair to the restaurant, the coffee (an Americano) was good. When we went to pay, the lady at the till asked us if everything had been ok with our meal. When we pointed out our slight disappointments, we were given quite a barrage of excuses and left in no doubt that we should not have had the temerity to (politely) complain. We won’t be hurrying back.

Excellent, table service, no queuing, quick efficient service, plenty of attentive staff, good choice of tasty food. Not cheap but good value.

Unfortunately the pattie was quite tasteless although the bacon was crisp. The egg was undercooked....I dislike runny white. Service was excellent, but we were astonished that the restaurant only takes card payments. Wouldn't bother again.

My wife and I are local people and have been going to Timothy's and the garden centre for many years. Since Covid we have eaten there regularly. We have taken visitors for lunch there, so we have booked a table in advance so that we could have one in a quiet area. Today I have just tried to book a table for lunch next Monday as we have visitor's staying with us. The man who answered the phone said that they had stopped taking bookings, so now it's a first come first served. This must have changed since last Saturday as we booked a table for that day. No warning that this system was changing. The man said they were turning away people who had shopped in the garden centre who then wanted to eat. We have often spent a fair amount of money in the garden centre, so why are we being penalised. How do the staff know how many of their customers have or have not spent money in the garden centre before going into the restaurant, have they undertaken a survey before making this decision? As you no doubt realise I am very annoyed and disappointed. We travel 18 mile round trip to visit Timothy's we can't afford the cost of fuel and time to drive there and find that we can't get an appropriate table. We have recommended Timothy's to many people, but until this ridiculous system is changed,no more recommendations.

Main course arrived quickley and was very nice. When ready for sweets nobody came to clear table or see if we wanted anything else.After a while we asked a waitress who was cleaning table near us if we could order,she said she would send someone.10 mins later still noone.I then went to till to order sweets and was told they would send someone over.Still no one came,was about to give up and go,when alady came to clear table,and we asked her if she could take our order,which she did.Not impressed.

Good food, value. Would use again

Met a friend here as a half way point between the South East and the Midlands. Plenty of parking, and a cuppa while you wait. We'll Timothy's was so nice we had a snack lunch. Great choice. Prices are compatible with most other places nowadays. I had their homemade mushroom soup. Flipping brill. Tasty and so well presented with two little rolls and three little pots of mixed seeds, mixed fried to add to the soup. Absolutely lovely. If I lived local I'd go as much as possible.

First time here, plenty to browse and a nice lunch

We visited Fosseway Garden Centre and decided to have lunch at the same time. Service was fast. Within a minute or two of being seated our drinks orders were taken. After we had finished deciding what to have we did not have to wait long for our food order to be taken either. Table service were friendly and accommodating. I decided to have pulled pork in a bap with a salad, and the other two in my party had Cornish Pasty and mixed salad. The food was excellent. Both flavoursome and good portions. We thought the prices were good too. We will definitely be coming back again soon!

We have always had a delicious lunch here. Staff are very friendly and helpful. My only gripe is the pureed peas with the fish. They are pureed with onion or turnips and too dry. A little water, mint & butter is all that is needed!

Wow lovely place for shopping and great cafe for tasty food.

Stopped by for a mid-morning coffee and a cake / pastry. Mum and I both thought the almond pastry looked a little bit burned. Waitress said "oh no it's not" so we ordered one. I ordered Bakewell tart. Ma said her pastry was awful. I didn't think much of the Bakewell either. As well as the burnt underside of the almond pastry, both items were the wrong consistency - heavy and stodgy. We won't going to eat them so called one of the waitresses over; she asked the manager to come to talk to us. She explained that they don't make those particular cakes; they buy them from somewhere else. What does that have to do with anything I wonder? If you sell a product, you have to be happy with the quality of it. It was only when we went on to say that we had wasted our money that she offered us something else. We think she could have dealt with us a bit better. I would have been straight in there with an apology; that is exactly what I teach the tourism and hospitality industry in my training workshops. The cappuccino was good and the cafe itself is spacious, nicely decorated with indoor and outdoor seating areas. We only stopped here for coffee because we were shopping in Fosseway Garden Centre. It wasn't my mum's first choice and now I can see why 🤷🏻‍♀️

Went into the cafeteria for a coffee, followed the covid guidelines on the board, to take a menu, find a table, and order from the "order point". All the free tables were still covered with dirty plates and cups, that hadn't been cleaned away. The other free tables were either reserved or had a sign on them saying "Not been sterilized, please do not use". We didn't stay

Food outstanding. Great atmosphere, attentive staff and a great garden centre as well.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, it's a fab place to meet up that's half way between us in Leamington Spa and Chippenham where my Sister's family live. It's spacious and comfy and they don't mind lingerer's. The food is very good however we felt the coffee beans used didn't meet the standard of everything else. It was reassuring that there was anti-covid strategy in place.

Good food and friendly staff. Have visited here a couple of time since Covid restrictions have been in place and the staff have been friendly, kept inline with all the restrictions, which must be hard and the food is very tasty with good portion size and not badly priced either. Well done 👏
