Great friendly place to watch the football and have a beer

Called for a quick drink on a day trip. Nice pint of doom bar other than that can't comment.

Good atmosphere. Nice to relax and play a bit of pool.

Great bar. Reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Make sure you take advantage of the happy hour prices.

Absolutely disgraceful. The manager of the establishment (Rob) was inappropriately touching customers and a barmaid but yet when i called out this behaviour i was escorted from the premises even after multiple bar staff told me "you're not the only one to notice it".

Food isn't served anymore even though it says on here it is, which is a shame. Should take that off. Other than that, great place to have a drink and watch the football.

This place no longer serves food, stopped about 3 months ago, staff was friendly but need to update the website.

Well if you enjoy the smell of chavs and the musty linger of old wardrobe this is a must visit! The skid stained pool tables only add fitting character to this fine establishment. For a first time in Cirencester coming from the local area to say it was abysmal would be an understatement the beer tastes like a 2 pence piece and the table compete with Wetherspoons for stickiness it’s only redeeming feature was the aggressive bar maid panicking about a missing sign. All in all avoid for your own sanity,

Played pool upstairs on small coin operated tables with very small clay balls that did not play well. Would be ok if I got used to them I guess, not this is not my plan. 🫣

Avoid this pub. Extremely rude customer service and very aggressive bar staff. Such a shame as this used to be such a nice pub. So many lovely pubs on Cirencester this one is nothing more than a dive bar.

Great Sunday roast, with Ashes on tv… doesn’t get better!

Lovely hearty pub meal, good service, drinks prices are expensive but it’s a fairly expensive area. They have pool tables upstairs which are always great fun and the staff are very friendly.

We went in with an almost 10 month old at midday and the service we received was outstanding. The girl who looked after us made us feel very welcomed and was happy to assist with any requests.

Updated review! New bar staff and a quality new team! Rob has been a great host along with a great team behind him Bea and Pheebs. I’ve returned after being away and the team has improved all expectations and is now a local I’d be happy to recommend to ANYONE!

Best place for a simple pint and watching sports in Cirencester. Apprently pool tables upstairs which seemed to be mainly occupied by kids from the local playground, but since they were out the way this did not bother us.

Great beer on tap , fantastically priced and tasty roast dinners. Happy staff!

Came here last week the service wasn’t great, pint flat. Thought I’d give it another crack because I don’t like to assume a place on my first visit, unfortunately for the barman my first choice Staropramen had to be changed, no worries to me. He came around 10 minutes later and it was incredibly frothy, he had persistence but eventually gave up. I chose another pint and after the same thing happened he just said no. If you’re charging £5.50+ for a pint please train your bar staff how to change a barrel. Only reason it would be all head and no beer. Be better please a year ago the place was wonderful (cheaper too)

Amazing ambience, great food, such a rare joy to find a pool table in a pub. Sadly, their music playlist caused me to stab myself in the ear with a broken pool cue.

Be careful when paying for your drinks by card. They over charged both of my sons. One by £15 and the other by £45 and then they couldn't find the receipt?

Really disappointed. Ordered soup and a meal,both turned up at the same time, queried it with staff and was told I should have requested soup first when ordering. Strange. Consequently my meal was cold and I have to say it takes some skill to cook an egg so its half hard and half uncooked.

Very welcoming pub that's also dog friendly will return

The pub was ok, I've been here during the day and found it a much nicer experience. The pool tables were a nice addition as it's hard to find a table in Cirencester, however the tables were in awful condition. The cloths were stained so much it looked like a camouflage pattern, the white ball had so many dents in it, that it made it borderline unplayable. The selection of drinks was ok, a bit pricey but compared to other bars in the area it wasn't awful. I wouldnt rush back here but it certainly wasn't the worst place I've been

Thank you Mike and staff at Porters Cafe for providing us with a great dinner! We learned a lot about local history and folklore and the food and drinks were outstanding!!! A proper pie!!!

Bet run down but, food good and bar service excellent.

AVOID AVOID AVOID! The food was awful, an oily mess. Bad quality food. Spoke to the owner, we asked for our money back but he only gave us half of the money back. He was incredibly rude and unprofessional. He couldn’t politely handle the situation himself so he asked one of his staff members to take over. He shouldn’t be facing customers. The other staff actually seemed embarrassed by his behaviour. I can’t see this pub lasting long with that attitude.

A few drink people breaking pool cues now and again, but a very well stocked pub with amazing staff. Pool tables could do with a bit of attention though!

Great pub. Food is cooked fresh. They do a fantastic roast on a Sunday.

A staff member was extremely rude to me and very unprofessional for a manager to conduct themselves in this manner , terrible establishment will never go back, definitely wouldn’t recommend to anyone! A real dive!!

Great customer service .. when there was an issue the bar manager was really helpful .. food tasted great . and the prices are close to normal .. where all the other pubs nearby are stupidly expensive .

A three floor bar in the centre of Cirencester with the top floor being an open air terrace. The 2nd floor has 2 pool tables to keep entertained while you have a drink. Serves a good selection of alcoholic beverages but ran low on mixers when we were there late on a Saturday. Tends to be frequented by a younger crowd especially on weekend nights

Fab time here! Dogs everywhere which is fab and great prices for food and drink! Potato skins were delicious!

Very good Sunday roast and excellent service. The chips with my fish and chips were a little soggy but the batter was crisp and the fish inside, tender. Good range of drinks on tap and a great, cozy vibe inside.

I work lates and nights so don't get out much. In my opinion this is a great pub, friendly staff good banter. I've not eaten here so can't comment on the food but I'm sure it's good. I would certainly eat here if I worked normal hours.

Popped in for a meal and a pint and glad we did, the burger was the best pub burger I've had in a while with a proper home made style beef patty covered with a strip of bacon and caramelised red onion relish. Yum. The other half enjoyed her veggie burrito which had a very tasty salsa. The 40% off food promo was the icing on the cake. Superb!

awful customer service would give 0 rating if i could, refused to ban horrible customers and have a complete disregard for the care of customers so rude and an awful experience will be taking this further
