I have been using Timbo House for for as many years as I can remember still the best food in this area

Ordered and collected / wrong items given - no apology given when I returned - did not even acknowledge their mistake !! Rude !!

This is our go to for a take away- food is always the same high standard.

Ordered a meal tonight my wife is a vegetarian they sent us a dish with meat , I rang them up to get my money back and they didn't pay me back even though they said they would , never order again

Food is great, but stop repeating address and card details out for all and sundry to hear when taking orders! It wouldn’t take much to find out my name considering you are repeating my address! Put me right off!

At 5pm on the Saturday evening we ordered our Chinese for 7pm £50 worth for it not to turn up so we got on the phone at 7.20pm to ask where our Chinese was the answer was it will be here soon everybody has had to wait . When it finally turned up at 7.40pm it was firstly luke warm and all our starters were missing so phoned the rude timbo House up told them what was wrong while on the phone 10 minutes later our starters turned up told the management this and asked for them to take our food back and cook us our meal again as it was cold and ruined, answer was I cannot afford to do that I will give you 20% off your next meal which we said was not good enough. Just give us a refund and come and collect the meal which he agreed, hence to say never came back for the meal and never refunded us absolutely disgusting service and attitude

Food always excellent. Popular, so will have to wait quite a while at peak times, so best to order well in advance and be prepared to wait

Two women that work on Thursday nights absolutely disgusting attitude and rude on the phone..get rid of them loud mouths. The owners are lovley.

1st time buying from Timbo....we had been disappointed in our previous go-to Chinese takeaway. We were both very pleased with speed of preparation (we walked in as we were passing), and food was well cooked. We will be using Timbo in future

Ordered a takeaway at 6pm on a Saturday night. 3hours later it turned up. Disgusted with the service. Told them when they FINALLY TURNED UP, we didn’t want it. If you can’t deliver don’t take the orders.

can’t rate the food as we was told we didn’t order anything, however checked and we had ordered an hour and a half prior- thought we was going crazy... Won’t order again, service is poor.

Standard English Chinese takeaway Fast and efficient service. Uninspiring menu, but all of these types of places cook to a formula. This is fine if all you need is 'fuel'. The owner is miserable and rarely says hello or goodbye. The lady of the kitchen is much nicer & serves with a smile. The char siu or bbq pork is particularly good one of the best I've had, recommend the pork balls. The Thai curries are also good, fragrant with a kick!

Terribly customer service! Very rude on the phone, unapologetic for their mistake. Won’t make the same mistake by ordering from here again.

Love this Chinese takeaway. Always so helpful. And whenever I walk past always smells so nice. Makes me crave the food from here. They do deliveries and will customise your order if you ask them to. Get yourself known on a first name basis and they might even throw in some free prawn crackers and a fortune cookie. My friends always rave about this Chinese. When ordering our take a way the man was very pleasant and helpful. Our food was delivered very promptly and on time. The food was absolutely perfect , tasty and hot and we even got a free portion of prawn crackers even though it was under the £20 The lady delivery driver was very polite and friendly We have used this take a way for years and will continue to use them, very highly recommended

Have been ordering for years since moving locally. Best Chinese takeaway around. Never had a bad meal. Always hot and on time. Food is great quality.

Food was absolutely vile not only that they messed up my order gave me two of the same thing when I called told me I was a lair even tho I said I would come in to show them I have to of the same the person I spoke to was very rude and unhelpful and the food like I said was really bad wouldn’t recommend 🤮

Ordered over the phone, waited over an hour for the food finally arrived. Driver didn’t seems happy as we didn’t tipped. Taste not great, sweet and sour sauce too sugary, chicken balls batters too thick, small piece of chicken inside and chips were too dry over cooked.

Food is generally good but on a busy evening no indication of time of delivery/collection. When asked, you haven’t waited an hour….really? Customer service 101 prep your customers for potential delivery time. After living in Rochford for 10 years and using TH for probably as long I will now not return. A shame, but a lack of planning and customer service are the crux of a successful and profitable business in a small area.

Use this Chinese so many times and never fault it. Always hot and freshly made, cannot fault it x

Usually good selection, always quicker to collect

Ordered a takeaway. Told me 45 minutes to an hour. Called them after and hour n 15 and they told us 20-30 minutes. It’s now been over two hours and still waiting. Their also lacking customer service as they aren’t really bothered about the wait time when we call them. Incredibly annoying. Let’s hope the food is half decent. Regardless we won’t be ordering again:/

I know it's my local.. but with all the choice around Rochford, there's a reason I stick with Timbo House. The food is amazing, very reasonably priced and never disappointed. Special shout out to the Beef Red Thai Curry! I could drink the sauce with a straw, it's awesome! Perfect for mopping up with chicken balls.

Well the food was cold and to be fair it was over priced for what we get so going back to my old Chinese I would rather my wife cook

The receptionist is rude, phoned as 2 meals had missing items. We travelled from 5 miles for her to say come back and get them by which time our dinners would be cold. She didn't apologise for the missing items. I explained we are not coming back to get them as our food would be cold she said that's all I can do. We will be taking out custom to another Chinese. Receptionist needs some customer service lessons!!

Have only recently been ordering regularly from here but glad we do now, friendly staff on the phone, fabulous food and really friendly delivery drivers Happy Christmas x

Great Chinese takeaway, never had a bad meal .

Chinese that tastes so good! Consistently great. Very popular. Very busy but so worth any wait. Despite huge workloads we always get an amazing meal and super fast delivery. Their estimates on time are spot on. Deserve 5 stars.

Firstly the takeaway is nice, but unfortunately the one star is for the delivery driver. I didn't order anything yet she turned up at my house with food and my 10y daughter answered the door. The woman said thank you as she got in car and drove off. She didn't give my daughter a chance to say this isn't ours. I tried ringing the takeaway over 40 times to say it had been delivered wrongly but couldn't get through. An hour and a half later the same driver turned up at my door telling me my daughter had said it was ours. I do not appreciate someone accusing my daughter of being a liar because of their mistake. I managed to get through to takeaway after she came 2nd time and I complained about her and to be fair to them they were very apologetic but unfortunately I won't be ordering from here again as I do not want this rude woman at my door again when it was her mistake not my daughters.

Food is always good from timbo house even when family visit from other areas they ask if we are getting food from there

My fave Chinese around. I live a 20 min drive from this take away but will drive to get it. It’s worth it. No other around Southend / Leigh / Rayleigh compares.

I have used this Chinese for the past 2 years since moving here locally. Food is always freshly cooked and piping hot. They say an hour but been here in 10 minutes (I am round the corner). Cannot fault them at all, highly recommed

Honestly.. pure low quality food that should come with a health warning

This has had the same owners for a few years now. Much improved since they took over. The manager Andy is what makes all the difference here for me. I have food intolerances & he ensures my food is prepared to my specifics. So helpful.

Good takeaway, it was ready quickly, food piping hot and tasty. Only slight negative was that the salt & chilli squid was too salty, almost (!) couldn't eat it. But we clearly scoffed it.

If you want a Chinese takeaway you will not get a better one than @ timbos just off Rochford town square& they deliver for free locally you will not be disappointed trust me I av had some awful meals in the past as I am on a health kick I only av a Chinese meal every 2 months if you use them try the house special mixed meat chow mien & the house special mixed meat curry which includes king prawns chicken beef & pork & get egg fried rice this is my very personal recommendation it's effin pukka way 2 go Jack regards Tricky x

First time i had visited the Timbo House,i ordered my food and within 3 minutes my special chow mein was ready,i took it back to my hotel not expecting much but i was pleasantly surprised,the food was plentiful and very tasty,i will definitely be visiting again.

compared to other chinese in rockford it is not great i had better and won't be going again not great quality or flavours

A lovely take away and not my nearest one either. They do deliveries and ive never had a bad meal from here. I know everyone has their favourite Chinese but if you looking for a change or are new to the area, please give this a serious thought. You wont be disappointed

Love Timbo House great average priced Chinese takeaway .

Very regular customers of timbo house, but I won't return now. Placed order for takeaway told 40 minutes wait which is fine. I kid you not they were knocking at my door within 14 minutes. Amazing they cooked it and packaged it and delivered in that short space if time. Chicken was not cooked properly I realised on the second piece. My rice was barely warm. My husband's dinner wasn't all that either. First time we've both left practically all the meal. In fact the only thing edible was the prawn crackers. So very expensive prawn crackers. I won't be coming back. Such a shame. In all my years of using timbo house I've only ever had one problem before and the delivery driver was a bit argumentive then but I let it go as always found the food nice. Massive disappointment tonight.

Better than the Great Wall, shame you cant sit down. its quick, the food is tasty and not bland. They deliver (no funny jokes) and its delivered well before the 40 min time. The only issue its closed Tuesdays....ok not the end of the world. Overall a good traditional take away.

We don't often get takeaway food but tried this recently and we both had curries - I had prawn and my husband had mixed meat. Mine was rather on the hot side and I hadn't been expecting that but still, it was quite nice, not exciting but nice.

If I remember correctly, this is a takeaway. Didn't use on my last stay in Rochford as my friends were away Frequent user when I lived in Rochford and never unhappy with any of the meals I had; Not everybodies idea of a fun night out but weather permitting could always sit by the small reservoir and enjoy your meal.

Horrible personal grosero que culpar a sus clientes por sus errores! Hombre rudo (podría ser el director - no espero para el lugar! Hace comentarios) que sly a chicas adolescentes. Evita este lugar en todo costo nos pasamos más de 80 libras y nos trataron tan irrespetuosamente después nos dieron la orden equivocada y luego me dijo 'hacerlo bien la próxima vez", como si fuéramos los únicos que entramos en la cocina para conseguir la bolsa para llevar jaja! Horrible horrible servicio al cliente y polémica personal - especialmente la chica y el hombre alto. Comportamiento asqueroso que debería ser tan avergonzada. Eran clientes habituales y nos juró que nunca comer aquí de nuevo - también hizo que nuestros amigos no tanto.

Pedimos desde aquí varias veces y no estaba encantada con la comida ni el precio.

Usually nice food & reasonably priced, although had a chicken curry & prawn balls and ended up with food poisoning so won't be going back there. It's a shame though.!

Good curry and nice spicy vegetables but The chips were inedible and overcooked and totally tasteless. 2 full portions straight into the bin. As for the price very expensive compared to other Chinese takeaways.

Pero creo que hemos cambiado nuestro lugar aquí. normal La comida era tan sabrosa, no demasiado grasiento y asequible. Los crujientes carne desmenuzada era increíble! Fue aquí en buen tiempo. La única razón por la que no tiene 5 estrellas es sobre higiene del conductor de la entrega. Pero, sin duda, comer aquí.

Won't visit again. Food is ready too quickly which is never a good sign. Not particularly tasty or value for money. Try elsewhere

I've tried several other Chinese take away's in Rochford and none compare to Timbo House. I used to order from Eastwood as I found that Rochford didn't have much to offer for Chinese food, however I have now been converted. It is always the same person working on the desk when I have gone to order or collect and she is helpful and friendly. They offer local free delivery and also take Debit/ Credit Card which is helpful.

They can't be bothered, it's happened for months they never take cards when it's busy, unless their card machine has issued by the most remote part of Egypt they are having a laugh. Must have to much business to need to take card payments or a tax dodge.

We love Timbo house and wouldn't go anywhere else. They have the nicest sweet and sour chicken balls and the staff are always chatty and welcoming.

Food is always perfect and delivered far quicker than they estimate. It is a must use the first night when my parents come to stay as the look forward to it so much

had the bargain box meal and the set meal for one. both were very generous and some went to waste but definitely be going again next time we're there

Normally good, but as Duncan says. For that I'm out. Most of this order was fine but off putting when you take the lid off and find a hair stuck to the underside then someone else noticed a four inch hair actually in with the food. Only you can decide.

We use Timbo House a couple of times on a weekly basis and 9 times out of 10 all is good, it does make the odd mistake with the ordering but in general its a good place to get fast food

Was a good review for awhile. Had too many bad experiences lately. No longer recommending to anyone. Was given a free dish due to poor quality and still it was poor, worth the extra couple quid to go else where.
