Phoenix in Rochford

Ordered half a duck. Very little meat on it. Salt and chilli chicken wasn’t very meaty. Sesame toast tasted of vinegar Chicken satay sticks were very small portions. Felt like we’d overpaid for the meal given what we’ve had elsewhere

Lived in Rayleigh all my life and always had Chinese from the Choi in the Hight street. Now that's closed was looking for somewhere to replace it. Having read the reviews decided on Phoenix. Not sure how people rave about the food, really disappointed and won't be returning. On the hunt for another Chinese takeaway!

If you want delicious Chinese takeaway then this is a place to try. They offer a broad menu. Plus do deliver.

We moved to the area in October and have had takeout food from Phoenix twice. Both times we've been extremely satisfied both with the food and the quality of service. We generally go down and order and wait inside. Our last order was a house special chow mein (which was delightfully saucy), duck in plum sauce (beautifully sweet), sweet and sour chicken (arguably the best one I've had from a takeout restaurant) and chilli and salt king prawns (fun and interesting flavours). We've not had the desire to go anywhere else as this really hits the spot every time.

Very disappointed, alway happy with the quality of food and service. But tonight very disappointed. The food was tasteless, not what we ordered and very underwhelming. As this is are regular Chinese takeaway, Im hoping they had a relief chef that had stepped in last minute?. Very poor sorry guys but true

I’ve used this Chinese take away since we moved here nearly 7 years ago and have never, not once been disappointed. They always get my order correct, and we’ve had some very big family get together orders! The delivery is speedy. And the food can’t be faulted. Absolutely delicious and really good size portions. We never even consider going anywhere else now.

Good selection of food and very tasty

Worst Chinese food EVER. Deliver ordered a couple of hours beforehand and appeared to have been cooked when i phoned. e.g. the capital ribs sauce had drained to the container bottom . All dishes dried out , tepid, tasteless, unseasoned. All meats dry and too chewy. Totally inedible so consigned to the dustbin. An expensive £21 lesson.

We used to use another Rayleigh Chinese Takeaway but felt that the quality had declined. Phoenix were recommended to us and wow, what a difference! They always remember us when we order which is lovely. And their food is excellent quality! Highly recommended.

Always fresh & very tasty food.

I have used Phoenix chinese for the last 6 years and not once had the food been cold, wrong or not delicious. I can’t recommend highly enough. I do wish they’d take a card over the phone though. Would be really helpful.

Very disappointed was told an hour but waited 2 two and half hours for a delivery, everytime we rang to find out where it was was told another 20 minutes, in the end they stopped answering the phone to us, food turned up cold and tasteless, been a loyal customer for years, will go elsewhere from now on, plenty of other Chinese takeaways that will value our custom

Used to be our favourite but after latest very disappointing experience we shall go elsewhere. Ribs tough with sauce not very tasty. Chicken balls dry. Chop suey tasteless with tough meat.

Best Chinese takeaway for miles around, great food, quick and well priced.

Good food. Fair price BUT they DON'T accept card payment! WHAT? 2021. Covid. And DON'T ACCEPT CARD or CONTACTLESS payment.... FAIL!

By far the best Chinese I love Chinese food and I have been to them all but this is the best The place looks very clean the people are very nice and the food was extremely fresh

Lovely meal, best Chinese I’ve ever had; we order regularly - duck, egg fried rice, salt and chilli crispy chicken; chow mein - all lovely everytime!!

love this place. always good value/ use quite a bit and never disapointed. nice people. on halloween saw them giving sweeties to the local kids.

Lovely food, collection is really quick. Haven't been let down by this place in the 4 years of ordering.

Ordered from this takeaway recently and the food is amazing they do the best duck staff are very friendly and very affordable would order from here again

i have used this restaurant often as i live close by, i don't know if it's changed hands but the quality has dropped right off. The food tastes great but the last three times i end up most of the night on the toilet, I gave them the benefit of the doubt but three times in a row tells me there must be some serious hygiene issues. Only gave the extra mark because the food does taste good. Won't be using again unfortunately.

Food always delicious and very good value. Highly recommended. We use this takeaway several times a month. Plus they will adapt - for example I don’t like onion in my chicken curry and they are happy to make it for me without.

Have deliveries from this takeaway - the food is very good and always arrives piping hot. If you have a preference to your dishes the staff are always willing to adjust accordingly. I recommend you start with the pancake roll or ribs which are delicious.

All beef dishes and its roasted duck are great. Best Chinese in town. Sizable dishes, quick service and not expensive for the quality you get.
