Great Chinese takeaway not gourmet but good reliable quality food.

I have just eaten probably the worst, most tasteless chinese food I have ever tried. BBQ ribs almost no flavour and tough. Chicken with cashews in Yellow Bean Sauce contained 10 cashews and the sauce was as watery as the Yangtze river. Avoid if you like chinese food.

Recently moved to this area and luckily found this takeaway. Very easy to order over the phone. Cooked freshly in open kitchen easily viewed from the payment desk. Food is very tasty and they have a 5* hygiene rating!! Staff very friendly. I wouldnt go anywhere else.

This is a takeaway only. We had a takeaway from this Chinese this evening. The ordering over the phone was very quick and efficient and was ready when we went to collect it by car. We ordered the meal for two and it was not a problem to change one of the rice dishes. The food was excellent, lovely and fresh and hot. The sweet and sour chicken balls were delicious, breast meat and not greasy. Beef dish was great with plenty of sliced beef. The special fried rice and special chow mein was equally delicious and fresh with prawns and strips of chicken. Would not want to go anywhere else now. Also a big bag of prawn crackers were added. Has an open kitchen which is also a bonus

I must admit I have a very limited order due to allergies, but I often find you can taste any of these takeaways by their sweet and sour chicken balls, I live 3 miles away and will happily drive to the Royal taste over the takeaway that is less than a mile away, because the quality and staff are so much better, I'd give 6 stars if I could.

Best Chinese in and around Hockey by some margin. Food is cooked fresh to order and as the kitchen is open you can see this. Food is very tasty and very reasonable prices. Cash only, no credit cards but there is cash machine opposite.

Tried for the first time and was not disappointed, we had 4 dishes and was happy with all of them. Beef chow Mein, beef in black bean, duck with bamboo shoots & water chestnuts and sweat n sour chicken balls. Very friendly service and quickly made. Will be using again!

Tried it for first time and was quite good. Crispy Chile Beef was excellent. Husband disappointed with egg fried rice and prawn balls but then he's difficult to please. I was happy with the Special Chow Mein. Not so keen on the Dry Spare Ribs but as takeaways go it wasn't bad at all.

Our first time trying this take away, and we were quite surprised! The service from the moment we entered was first class, initially they allowed us to create our own dishes as well as a couple of traditional ones. Straight away, their three chefs sprung into life, cooking in view of ourselves and other customers! Once home, we were both impressed with all the dishes we ordered as all were cooked to a good standard. Would I use this outlet again, most certainly!!

I would say the best in the area, you can get the odd dish that's not great but overall deliver good food! Shame that you can only pay cash this can sometimes be a pain. Chow mein is very good and beef and black bean is nice and spicy just how I like it!

We had a takeaway from this Chinese on New Year's Eve and it was absolutely delicious. The only drawback is that they don't 'do' deliveries, but that's a small price to pay, the quality of the food outweighed the inconvenience. I would definitely buy food from this establishment again and fully recommend it.

Excellent takeaway service. I have used them frequently. The food is prepared and cooked in full view of the customer. I cannot think of another restaurant that does this. They are also very fast. Great value.

Very dissapointed. Had a chicken curry, egg fried rice and deep fried beef. All were utterly tastless. Beef was not crispy, rice was stodgy and chicken curry was chucked straight in the bin.

Cooked in the sight of the public the food I have had on many occasions has been plentiful and tasty. A good size meal for 3 was around £25. its best to order by phone and collect as at weekends it gets extremely busy. :)

This is an amazing take away!! I love the food it's delicious and not greasy at all. Every single one of the staff are really nice and we always have a chat. Really nice atmosphere and they cook the food in front of you and it's really fun to watch! I can't even describe to you how good it is. I LOVE IT!

After reading the good reviews of this place we were expecting good things. Sadly we were disappointed.Hubby had the duck with cashew nuts which he remarked was not nice at all. This was served with a crispy pancake which seemed to be a very large spring roll containing just bean sprouts. My choice, although extremely limited veggie selection, was Kung po vegetables. If you like Chinese cabbage and onion then this is the dish for you. If like me you enjoy a mixed vegetable dish then go somewhere else. We certainly shall be.

Our local take away, which would do an even bigger trade if they did deliveries. The food is cooked in front of you whilst you wait, the kitchen is lovely and clean and the staff are always friendly. It is for me the Best Chinese in Essex, you have to try the Salt & Pepper Squid!

Great Chinese take away, you can watch the chefs cook your food in front of you. My only concern is that since the new management has taken over they seem to be using cheaper ingredients so sometimes there has been fat on the chicken which we never had before. Also, sometimes the man on the phone doesn't understand what you have ordered so you get the wrong thing. On saying this, when you go into the shop and speak to the staff who speak fluent English they are always more than happy to help and get what you wanted in the first place. We don't use any other Chinese take away.
