Lovely, busy bar. We stayed in Edinburgh during December and the whole bar was decorated beautifully for Christmas. The mulled wine was delicious and the haggis, neeps and tatties were great. It really helped us experience Scotland. It was busy every time we went in there which shows how great it is with a lovely cheerful, festive attitude.

I found the Tiles Bar in a YouTube video about Edinburgh. It didn't disappoint. The atmosphere was great. The tiles are beautiful. The pub wasn't filled with tourists and it felt more like a pub folks may stop by for lunch or after work.

Neat pub in a nice neighborhood. Service with friendly staff. Open atmosphere.

Stopped at this bar twice while staying in Edinburgh. Good people amd that potato soup was spectacular.

Very good food. I had the breaded fish and chips. My wife had haggis. The atmosphere was a bit louder than we would prefer. However, it is primarily a bar, so no surprise there. The hazy IPA was very refreshing.

Wandered in after a busy day exploring Edinburgh and very glad we did. We wanted somewhere traditional and this ticked all the boxes. Great features, very lively and just had a wonderful 'buzz' to the place. Plenty of staff everywhere and a great drinks selection. Very glad we stopped by.

I often use the pub as a meeting/stop off point when out in Edinburgh. Can be quite busy but not a bad pub.

What a majestic place . Inside was so beautiful and you felt like you went back in time in such a lovely way . The food was so delicious and the staff was very kind and welcoming . We sat inside but there is lots of place outside to sit and enjoy the lovely views . The location was great because it was a bit further from the busy road. We will definitely be back .

4 people behind the bar, 6 customers and then after 10 minutes they say that you have to order at the bar yourself. I would do it differently!

A family of three for lunch. We had fish and chips and we enjoyed it. Friendly and welcoming staff. Good selection of beer. It was very crowded, but we were lucky and got a table.

This is the best food I have had on my vacation! I wish I would’ve found this place on the first day! I had the steak and Guinness pie. My son had the macaroni and cheese with spicy chicken. The steak and Guinness pie was amazing. It’s our last night here so I had to have a sticky toffee pudding. It did not disappoint. The bar was completely packed, the service was perfect, it is a beautiful pub! They served our drinks with our ice! This is the only place that provided ice without special request!

Very disappointed in quality of food, two dishes were cold and should have been at least warm. For the price there are other venues nearby that offer better quality at reasonable prices e.g Mother India cafe. Wasn’t worth the money and I wouldn’t recommend

Great location and beautiful decor. We had the Taste of Scotland 3 course menu. Absolutely delicious and fantastic value. Staff really efficient and friendly . Highly recommend

Went in for a quick bite and a few drinks before the football final. Very welcoming atmosphere, great food and really friendly service.

didnt have any food but had a decent couple of pints while watching the good people of Edinburgh pass on Andrews square , service was friendly and fast and the place was busy with families and couples , my only drawback was the smell of chip fat that seemed to drift through the pub everytime a waiter came through with food , minor inconvenience but it was noticeable

I along with about 30 people were watching the last put from a Scottish golfer in the Scottish open.Incredibly the barman turned the TV to another channel just before he putted to win the tournament. I pleaded with him to allow us to watch the winning put to no avail. Understandable that the European final was coming on but wasn't starting for another 10 minutes. Maybe proper training for the staff would be a good idea.

A very enjoyable, high-quality Scottish bar. The cauliflower we ate was very successful. The service is very fast and polite, highly recommended

One of the best outside seatings in all of Edinburgh. Especially before sunset, you get to sit directly under the warm sun. The service could be better. They’re not very helpful or enchanted about their job, especially the waiters. Spilled my drink yesterday and asked for some tissues. That never came. The drink was fine, the garnish was weakly put on the glass and so fell the moment I stepped outside. Overall, the service is lacking, but the ambience makes up for it.

Magnificent bar restaurant, the interior is superb and the beers are good. Small minus, the women's toilets are not in very good condition. I recommend !

Impressive bar with high ceilings, large TV to watch games, seats along the window to look out at St Andrew’s Square, and cozy tables for a bite to eat or drink. Nice drink menu offering many beers on tap, cocktails and nice wine list.

A great old Victorian pub, with big open ceilings and wonderfully decorated. The bar is square in the middle and the staff get to you quickly and are nice. A great pub in the centre of town.

Very nice pub located on a corner of Saint Andrews Square in the new area of ​​Edinburgh. The place was the headquarters of an insurance company for many years. It was remodeled with very good taste, placing an imposing bar in the center of the building. The food is simple, but of good quality. They serve wines, beers and whiskeys, as well as cocktails. The service is good and the price is right. A good place to stop while visiting the city.

Layout not the best as it's a lot of standing tables but that's due to the busy times. Nice service and range of drinks. Good location with plenty of seating outside.

Warmly welcomed out of the pouring rain. Food and drinks arrived quickly despite being very busy with no free tables. Both ordered the haggis, neeps and tatties which was delicious and a very generous portion. Staff friendly and efficient. Beautiful building. Loos in the cellar clean nice hand soap. Our last evening in Scotland nice to have traditional tea in pleasant surroundings. Thank you.

It was our last evening in Edinburgh and we were tryin g to find somewhere to eat . One pub we tried was not serving meals that night, Dishoom was closed for refurbishment, another had closed down but someone suggested we try St Andrew's Square and when we saw the menu outside the bar we thought we would like it. Its a vast room and used to be a bank. The service was friendly and we did not need to wait long for a venison burger for one of us and a chicken salad for the other . We washed it down with prosecco and Tenants' . I had a side salad as well to go with my venison burger which was succulent and flavoursome. The chicken salad was good too. We didnt bother with a dessert though as it was now about 9:30 and we need to get back to the hotel to finish packing.

We enjoyed great food and drinks here in a pleasant environment.

My partner was outside with my assistance dog. I went inside to ask if it was okay to bring him in, 3 members of staff said yes. I went to bring him in and I was stopped by someone who said they were the manager and they don't allow assistance dogs due to their policie. They allow guide dogs but not assistance dogs. I was left humiliated and disappointed. I had my I D and it states you can't refuse access to an establishment under the equality act 2010. Thank god for the Hard Rock Cafe who welcomed my assistance dog. They were so welcoming and friendly. Shame as the Tiles restaurant was virtually empty. Probably a good thing in the end.

Told staff loo rolls needed in ladies, was told it would be addressed, and hour later, still no loo roll...it's a basic requirement in a bar 😞

Nice place for a bite to eat. Menu is a little limited and service could be more organised but fair prices and tasty food.

Hubby and I had dinner at Tiles tonight and it was awesome. After a long drive to and from Balmoral Castle, we needed some food, and quickly! We walked over to Tiles, received great, quick service and the food was great too! Hubby had the sausage and mash potatoes and I had the pork and chorizo burger with fries. I have to mention that I am Cuban-born and we make MANY of our dishes with chorizo and this burger did not disappoint, it was DELICIOUS! We highly recommend Tiles!

Gorgeous craftsmanship on the inside. Tile and beautiful ceilings. Expansive bar in fabulous wood. Warm and friendly greeting by staff and kind and courteous service. Food tasted great and enjoyable views. Outside seating when weather permits.

Still one of the best bars in Edinburgh for a quick pint after shopping. The staff are round the bar so quick it’s only a min or two and served.

I stop in here quite a bit for an after work pint, the beer is always fresh and the staff are friendly and welcoming. While I've never had it, the food also looks and smells pretty good. All in all, a nice pub in a super convenient location

Exceptional bar in the centre of Edinburgh with fantastic food and excellent service. After the closure of the Jekyll&Hide Bar a few years ago, the Tiles Bar is one of my must-visits in Edinburgh's gastro scene.

Visited at the weekend, one staff member behind the bar was extremely rude and unprofessional when replying to a very simple and straight forward request. Really disappointing as it was my first visit to the venue, and the majority of other reviews rating it highly. Worth noting other staff members who served our group throughout the evening were very good.

Popped in here for a drink on our recent trip. We were hoping there would be brunch on the menu but there wasn't. I think this would be a perfect spot to serve brunch! We didn't want a full lunch at 11.30 am. So we had a drink and left. It is a lovely building and service was great.

It took us 2 goes to get a meal here, but it was worth it. As Americans it can take a bit to adjust and learn the kitchen schedules and customs of U.K. pubs. Just because they are open does not mean they are serving food, especially after 9or10pm. But back to our experience. After establishing that they had table service, a good question to ask as you could sit for ages if they don't, we settled at a high top and ordered drinks. The gents that served us were attentive without being pushy and helpful when questioned. The meal was excellent and the general atmosphere very convivial. The tile interior is beautiful and really added to the experience for us. Highly recommended whether serving food or not😉

Un pub clásico en toda regla. Hay haggis (y haggis vegetariano) y un sharing platter enorme por £22 si quieres probar varias cosas. El staff muy agradable.

Called in for a couple of drinks and it wasn’t bad but incredibly noisy. This of course isn’t the bars fault. That sort of put us off going back when it’s busy, we will go back when it’s quieter.

All staff were lovely, except from the large gentleman with the curly hair who seemed to be the supervisor on shift, very rude and obnoxious. Been to this bar for years and after this experience I will not return, an obvious power trip and lazy in his role.

Went in around 11am on a Saturday, fortunately just in time and is soon filled up. Very friendly attentive staff. I've never had haggis before so went for that with neeps and tatties, it's very good. Building is fantastic, apparently it used to be a Prudential insurance office.

Decent bar serving lots of international and local drinks options with a central bar. Not a huge amount of seating if that’s important to you. Usual prices and handy for some very good restaurants.

Despite being very busy at lunchtime on a Friday in December the staff were great and I managed to find a table. I had an excellent club sandwich and fries that was nicely presented and more than adequate in portion size. The price was reasonable for a city centre location and everyone seemed to be happy both staff and customers.

Look so lovely from outside and had a sign saying best mulled wine in Edinburgh, so we had to go in. I agree with the sign the mulled wine was lovely, had lunch and dinner there as the food and service were both really good

Visited here briefly to try find a table on the weekend, it was quite busy understandably so wasn’t able to. On the way out the bouncer felt the need to express a racist comment towards me, which I was disgusted at given I had done nothing to provoke him. My review isn’t a reflection of the place but relating to the hired bouncer. A shame since the atmosphere seemed decent. Management, please have a disciplinary chat with him, shouldn’t be happening in this day and age at all. My visit was on 25/11/23 in the late evening.

First time in this bar and I was very impressed. Only had a couple of drinks before we went for a meal so can't comment on the food. The staff were very good and welcoming. Will go back here and recommend it to anyone who find themselves in that area.

I was plesently surprised with how good the food was and the friendly staff would recommend a visit.

Stopped in on a rainy day after a visit to the castle. We had the steak and Guinness pie and the monkfish. The monkfish was good, the steak and Guinness so-so. It consisted of a ladle of steak soup, a glop of mashed potatoes, some greens, and a chunk of puff pastry that had been puffed in the oven and placed on top. About the only complaint about the monkfish is that there was so much of it. Portion sizes are large. The interior of the place is as the name indicates, largely tile not wood. Looking a the menu you get the feeling that this place is somewhat more geared toward tourists than locals. Everyone we talked to was visiting.

Chicken Cesar salad was very poor quality and expensive. Its not a difficult thing to get right, but stale croutons and a dusting of parmesan at 17 pounds made it feel like a rip off.
