Bisque Brasserie in Edinburgh, City of

Oh wow! We thought it’ll be nice to have dinner in a restaurant instead of going to a pub! High hopes however the battered cod & chips was tasteless and pretty oily¿ How can a simple dish fail In a hotel restaurant! Never again

Really poor meal. Service was extremely slow. Food arrived for each person at different times and was cold. Some items forgotten and had to be prompted to remind the server. Ordered soup and had to wait about 10 minutes after asking for a spoon to be provided- by which point soup was cold. Food was very average for the prices. Asked for the bill which didn't arrive so had to pay it at the bar- only noticed after paying that a 12.5% service charge had been added- absolutely would not have paid this if we had known.

Vi bodde på Bruntsfield Place under vår vecka i Edinburgh och var nere i baren i souterrainvåningen några av kvällarna för en öl eller en cocktail. Ibland gick det bra - det fanns ingen cocktailmeny, men de unga bartenders kunde blanda till cocktails utifrån de huvudingredienser som vi ville ha. Vid ett annat tillfälle, med en annan ung bartender, gick det inte alls. Han kunde inte fixa till en irish coffe - det fanns inget kaffe och ingen grädde. Eller det kanske inte går att få en irländsk kaffe i skottska ERdinburgh?

Usually free breakfasts are so so. Found this breakfast to be better than that. Serve hot breakfast and lots of options for continental.

Last meal with our daughter before she starts nearby University, as you can imagine it was a fairly emotional night. We were seated in the bar and ordered 2 portions of fish and chips and a plain pizza, nothing complicated, or so you would of thought. Service was very slow, looked as though there was only a young lad on duty. Food arrived fairly quickly, the fish was extremely greasy and the batter was soggy, the chips were almost at the point of being burnt, and the pizza was swimming in grease, daughter could only eat 2 slices of it. The young lad serving was very busy as we couldn’t get his attention, the hotel restaurant manager just ignored us and walked passed several times. Rather than make a fuss my daughter just wanted to leave. G If your after informal, decent, well cooked food, go elsewhere. Spoilt, what was an emotional night.

This has had a lovely refurb, great drinks, and the grub is very tasty. The bar manager has been here for years and really knows the local area, he saved our holiday with his wit and service. Fantastic

Our 9 days in Edinburgh gave us a chance to enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner and room service with the Neighbourhood. I am in a wheelchair which is a challenge at restaurants, but they made it easy every time we dined. Even when we were joined by our 5 other family members. Our meals were great with many choices, the prices were nice, and the staff was friendly and attentive. A highlight to on trip!

Booked a table for two tonight. Walked into the bar. Completed ignored. Made our way over the restaurant whereby a sullen girl pointed to the window. Weren’t given any menus. Ignored by multiple staff. Seriously couldn’t be less impressed so walked out. Don’t bother if you want to be made to feel invisible.

Situated across from the Meadows in a hotel The Neighbourhood has a lot of competition in its Neighbourhood. There’s a seated section to the back which you can access another area. When we went it was quite busy so some food orders took longer to arrive and some drinks orders were accidentally missed. The food when it came was nice. I had the beef and pork nduja meatballs that eventually turned up and were piping hot when they did. I’d maybe venture to other establishments close by before rushing back for seconds.

Great food, wonderful service, would absolutely recommend - plenty of Covid precautions too. We saw areas being cleaned regularly! Will definitely be back!

Ambience and food could not be faulted, sadly the restaurant was under staffed and service was a bit slow

Poor service due to chronic understaffing and overbooking by management. Was advised that the restaurant had planned for 30 bookings and 60 turned up. Consequently we had to wait a full hour for our starters and a further 30 mins for our mains. We did receive a free bottle of wine by way of an apology. Food was pretty bland and relatively unseasoned. My steak was nearer well done instead of medium. Surprisingly they were very quick at taking payment after we received our bill.

We arrived slightly early 6:35pm, for a 6:45pm booking. We did get seated pretty much immediately. From there.... it ALL went downhill. Drinks slow to arrive Jugs of water not arriving Missing items from order Basically, the worst meal I’ve ever had. We skipped deserts and currently in a restaurant in Edinburgh simply to get the deserts, coffees and drinks we wanted this side of 2025... I genuinely think it’s because we had two children with us. We were in a corner and basically forgotten about.

Menu was a little limited however the staff we helpful in assisting us to get glutton free service.

Good pub food - lovely service. Recommend a visit.

Went for a meal for 4 on a Friday evening and really enjoyed it. The waiter was very attentive and also let us sit on our table early. The food was fairly good (although not amazing), however was on the expensive side for some of the mains. Would suggest the chicken but would avoid the classic fish and chips. Dessert was really good and would recommend the eton mess.

Decent menu choices and easy access made this restaurant a good choice. We dined early so the place was quiet. Service was excellent.

Although at first we were the only diners at 5.15pm as we were heading to the theatre soon another couple arrived and then a party of six. The service was attentive and the staff pleasant. The food was hot and delicious. A somewhat hidden gem in Bruntsfield. Have been on numerous occasions and never been disappointed.

The staff were so welcoming and friendly. I ordered the Risotto Verde and it was absolutely gorgeous! I couldn’t finish it all, even though I very much wanted to. The seating is excellent, lots of options, depending on how many are in your party. The bar staff were terrific, able to recommend local spirits that just hit the spot after a long train journey.

We stayed at the hotel and went a few times - for breakfast, lunch and a few drinks. The Scottish Grill is excellent, and the fish n' chips are really good. They also have a lovely selection of whiskys. The bar room is really nice.

Excellent food and a little hidden gem will 100% be back

The food and service was excellent but there was no atmosphere as it was, once again, very quiet. It wasn’t very warm, which didn’t help, and when quiet like that, a little background music wouldn’t go amiss. Bar prices a little pricey and again, like restaurant, lacked atmosphere and heating

Our experience at Bisque Brasserie was wonderful. We had an amazing afternoon for our families pre-Christmas get-together. Our group of 14 were effortlessly accommodated, from a few drinks in the bar before we sat down in the lovely restaurant to have our meal. The whole booking process was easy and efficient, the food was beautiful, and the service delightful. While all the food was beautiful and highly complimented, a special mention to the fish & chips, which got unusually high praise from the fussiest of eaters in our clan. Thank you to all in Bisque Brasserie team, to Colin and the kitchen team, and to Fiona in reservations. Great day had by all, we look forward to being back again soon.

We booked lunch for a family meal including 2 elderly parents, between Christmas and New Year. Had a table in the conservatory which was bright and has doors opening onto a patio. I should imagine the outdoor tables would be popular on a sunny day. Service was attentive and all our courses were nicely presented and very tasty. We decided to go for lunch on New Years Day. Bisque had a table available. We were happy to return after a successful first visit. Two of us had chicken and haggis wrapped in prosciutto, followed by pear and apple crumble with clotted cream. I can honestly say it was one of the nicest meals I’ve had. We’ve just moved to the area and Bisque is already a favourite.

Food poor . I asked if anchovies could be added to ceased salad apparently only available with chicken . Response could not do . Poor response could not be bothered

The restaurant was not very busy but had a wonderful waitress who was great. The food was good and like the gin menu. Atmosphere could have been a bit more jolly (less choir music more modern) Overall a good restaurant.

Faultless. Amazing food; literally the most incredible steak pie I have ever had, the gravy was so rich I would happily drink it as a beverage, and the meat was so tender that I could cut it with a spoon. Accompanied by mash that was fluffy, pillowy and rich with butter, and roasted root vegetables that were salty and crunchy on the outside and perfectly soft on the inside. After a long day of travel, this was absolute heaven. Plus a blood orange gin and tonic to die for. The staff are all genuinely lovely human beings, and deserve nothing but the highest praise. Next time I'm in Edinburgh, I'll definitely be back!

We virtually have the place to ourselves at 5 pm. Very relaxed with friendly staff and good food.

Stayed here on business with a colleague. The caesar salad starter was basic and tasty, but to be fair, I asked for no anchovies or Parmesan.. Kevs nachos were great he said. The steak frites was brilliant, cooked as requested, juicy and great value for money. All washed down with a lovely Merlot. Would happily recommend.

We went for the Thursday night steak and glass of wine offer. The restaurant was warm, relaxed and quiet. There was a beer alternative or soft drink option too. The steak was tasty and cooked as ordered. It came with chips, and 3 cooked tomatoes although not our choice. We then had puddings which were very good (sticky toffee pudding with icecream and raspberry pannacotta). Good value and good food. Will recommend to others.

Myself and friends really enjoyed our meal. we had the steak dinner with wine which was great value. The staff we very polite and friendly. Hope to come back at some point.

Ordered tomato soup as that is what I was told was the soup of the day but received pea soup, the waiter did apologise but should have asked me before he brought it. Cheese board was awful. Very overpriced for what we recieved and then to top it all they put a gratuity payment on the bill as standard without being asked

Service was very slow on the evening we visited. We waited about half an hour for the Sunday roast to arrive. The couple next to us were in before us, but noone had taken their order before our's. They ordered starters but were still waiting when our food arrived. They asked staff twice to chase up their food. After 45 minutes waiting, they left the restaurant. A couple behind us complained their bittle of fizz wasn't cold. Shame because the food was excellent.

Party of 7 all really enjoyed the food. Very good traditional type food served with good humour. Great to have crispy batter on the fish ! No complaints at all! We will be back!

Had a lovely 'steak night' meal with 3 friends. Food and wine were great and the service too! Can't fault it.

I often took colleagues and business partners to Bisque for early evening dinner because it's close to my work place and the place is good for having conversations. We realised a few months a go at they removed the early dinner set menu which offered good value for money. A few weeks a go we had another dinner there and because they no longer did the early dinner menu we went for ala carte menu, which was acceptable. Tonight I had to take business colleagues for early dinner and decided to try for the set menu. We opted for £22 main course and dessert meal. 3 courses menu is £28. All of us ordered seabass which came with some veggie (no potatoes). The portion was very small and it tastes average. We only drank water no alcohol. By the end of the meal we didn't feel that we had eaten, despite the fact that we spent around £73 (including service charge).The service was so so. I decided to find another venue around Bruntsfield that offers better value of money and food. It's very disappointing as I really like the venue and the location is very convenient.

The food was not up to standard. The haggis bonbons were burst and dried, crusty haggis coated the bottom of the dish. Very unappetising and very very dry. The macaroni cheese was bland with only a hint of cheese. It was served in a white soup bowl with no garnish or greenery to make it more appealing and it tasted as it looked. Truly uninspiring. For these dishes which are produced by many eateries, the price was extortionate. This was not good value. We would have complained at the time but were short on time.

Bisque did not have our booking despite using Open Table and so although we were asked if it was a special occasion when booking, it was my Aunt and Uncle's golden wedding, this was not actually acknowledged at all. Fortunately restaurant was quiet as we did not (apparently) have a booking despite my confirmation emails. In fact there was only us and one other table so somewhat lacking in ambience, food was average but service good.

Esta fue nuestra segunda estancia en el Bruntsfield Best Western y cada vez disfrutamos de nuestra experiencia con su restaurante The Bisque Brasserie. Cenamos dos noches en el bisque. Nuestra comida era excelente y muy bien presentada. Los servidores fueron muy serviciales e hicieron que nuestra experiencia fuera un placer. Me acordé de tomar una copa que pensé que era un martini de pepino que me encantó. Así que cuando regresé y lo pedí, el cantinero recordó que se trataba de un saúco y cumplió mi pedido. Una excelente bebida que realmente disfruté en ambas ocasiones cuando comí en el Bisque. La lubina era excelente y servía muy atractivo. El pescado y las patatas fritas y el salmón también fueron excelentes. Creo que sirven uno de los mejores pudines de caramelo pegajoso que he probado. Recomiendo este restaurante y volveremos.

Lovely place with good choice of nice food. The only downside is there is no atmosphere whatsoever.

an altogether pleasant experience with much improved food quality and very good attentive staff

Llegó para nuestra última comida en Edimburgo y fue nuestro mejor. Tengo una alergia severa a la nuez y la atendieron muy bien, incluso me hicieron un titular que no estaba en el menú. El servicio era un estándar tan alto, amable y amable personal. Tuve el pollo y haggis principal y estaba perfectamente hecho. No puedo recomendar lo suficiente.

Este restaurante está ubicado en el nivel inferior del Best Western Plus® Bruntsfield, hotel de Edimburgo, donde tomé 3 desayunos y 3 cenas durante una gira por Escocia. La calidad de la comida y la presentación fueron excelentes: probé por primera vez haggis con salsa de whisky, pescado y papas fritas escocesas tradicionales y (¡un favorito!) Pudín de toffee pegajoso, ¡todos los platos excelentes! El servicio fue bueno (un poco lento, pero eso es lo que se espera cuando nuestro grupo de más de 30 personas llega al mismo tiempo). El restaurante también se asoma a un bonito y tranquilo patio jardín, ¡fue muy agradable! ¡Altamente recomendado!

Staff were warm, helpful and a pleasure to be around. Enjoyed the food, which was great for Sunday lunch and made even better by being super family friendly.

Had great night, on my anniversary

Aunque era residente, no tenía la intención de comer aquí, pero opté por hacerlo cuando mi llegada a mi llegada coincidió con un poco de diluvio. Ese servicio iba a ser fuera de lo común, se hizo evidente tan pronto como pedí que me sentaran y pedí una cerveza. Como la sugerencia no me era familiar, me invitaron a una degustación antes de comprometerme, lo que fue un toque encantador. Disfruté muchísimo de mi filete - frite, cocinado como lo había pedido, y agradecí que el deseo de solo un par de cucharadas de helado (delicioso), en lugar de un postre más elaborado, se acomodara con una sonrisa. Este es un restaurante muy bien dirigido. El hotel debería estar orgulloso de estos chicos.

I really liked the food here - the restaurant itself lacked atmosphere and felt like a hotel restaurant. The area close to the outdoor area was closed off so maybe it would have been better when this is open.

Delicious flat iron steak with mushrooms, tomato and chips along with a glass of wine on a Thursday night special offer. We were heading to the Kings theatre and this is the perfect place to dine beforehand if you book a table for 5.30pm then there is no rush.

First time I've eaten here and it certainly won't be the last. I had the flat iron steak with peppercorn sauce and it was to die for. I have my steak medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. The service was good, very friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere all round. I would definitely recommend. A massive 5 stars.

Nice and handy for the King's Theatre, just a short walk down the hill. We got a very cheerful and friendly welcome and when they knew we were going to the theatre, they timed everything perfectly. There's a very reasonable pre-theatre menu and a not too pricey wine list. Overall, a good dining experience. Recommended.

Extremely charming, friendly and down to earth service, with a lovely atmosphere, a simplistic & minimalistic menu... however still feels as if there’s much to choose from, oh and unreal tasting food!! Will be returning <3

Food was good, service was very poor, over an hour and a half for just starter and main course. Waited 15 mins to receive a desert menu.

Although the food was good, came here hoping to enjoy the pre theatre menu which appeared to be unavailable and the service was very slow.

This place used to be good, but not anymore. We were a table of 8, seated towards the back of the restaurant all alone. The two waiters were young and clearly not trained in how to serve, a management issue more than their issue. Service was slow and lunches came at different times for each of the 8 people. When clearing the starter and main courses, the waitress was able to only carry two plates at a time, once in each hand, not trained at all in how to carry plates. With the distance back and forward to the kitchen, it was taking ages to clear the table. Not once were we asked if "everything was OK with food or whatever" We asked for the bill and left before coffee and desserts. Service charge was already included as a table of 8 I guess, but when paying we were presented with "do you want to add a tip?" … maybe automatic, but was too much. There was no point complaining to the staff serving as they were too inexperienced to deal with it. And we did not see one manager, as we were at the back of the restaurant and presumably they were at the front and were unaware of the how the service was towards the back.

Good Place for families but not only. Regular food cooked very well.

If you arrive before 7pm, there is a limited, cheaper menu, which is more than adequate for most purposes. The food is good, and although the plates are not piled high, you will feel you have eaten well.

The bar/lounge in my hotel was wonderful. I tried almost everything on their menu over the 2 weeks that I was there. All my meals were great. Not one complaint.

Mi marido y yo tuvimos nuestra boda aquí hace 18 años y han sido vuelve cada año desde entonces. La comida de esta noche fue excelente como siempre: carpaccio de remolacha con queso de cabra y pollo Spring Rolls como entrantes, luego Pollo relleno con Haggis, tenderstem brécol y pomme skirlie fondant con topping. Todo era absolutamente delicioso. Como hemos sido clientes habituales para nuestra cena de aniversario también comidas pre theatre en ocasión también nos dieron 2 copas de cortesía prosecco de la administración. Una botella de vino blanco de Zinfandel también fueron un lujo. Toda la comida estaba muy bien presentado. El Gerente de Tomaz Pérez también nos permitieron visitar Cardoon anteriormente el Potting Shed donde celebramos nuestra boda comida. Un lugar que no debe perderse. Todo el personal era muy atento en una noche muy ocupada. El chef y su equipo debería ser complementado por un trabajo maravilloso en una noche muy ocupada. Gracias una vez más.

This neighborhood place is slightly off the beaten path but close to Tollcross guest houses. Good food in a modern setting. Chicken stuffed with haggis and fish and chips were excellent. Wedding reception and several men attending in kilts added to the atmosphere.

El restaurante está en el sótano del Bruntsfield Hotel donde estaba y un amigo y yo fuimos a cenar. Puedes ir a cenar en el bar pero el Mundial en sus televisores. . . . . . El restaurante da a la parte trasera a un jardín pavimentado que es agradable. Tuve haggis rellenas de pollo con brócoli y patatas mientras mi amigo tenía un gran bacalao y patatas fritas con un plato de guisantes con salsa tártara y blanda. Mi chocolate Panna Cotta fue un poco decepcionante ya que el chocolate Panna Cotta pero oculta la sirvieron con cerezas amarena (adorable) y granola (? ? ). Por desgracia, el único vino rosado que tenían era el Zinfandel, así que tomamos un vaso de chenin blanc. Precios razonables y camareros encantadores español.

Fuimos a cenar en nuestro aniversario. Tenía un par de copas en el bar antes de la comida. Tuvimos que utilizar tarjetas inteligentes sin contacto para doble Grey Goose y coca cola y doble G&T;.

Éramos un grupo de 14, con un montón de peticiones que eran todos cumplieron. Reservamos el patio exterior como era un día soleado. La comida QUE TODO EL MUNDO tenía era de una calidad fantástica y bien presentado. La comida de los niños, en particular, eran fabulosos frescos y caseros, etc. goujons pollo Hace toda la diferencia. Nos encantó nuestra experiencia y, por lo tanto, definitivamente volveremos.

Very disappointing. Ordered afternoon tea for 4 people, were told we couldn't have it all at the same time. Had to wait ages for the other half of our food. Clotted cream arrived with a thumb print in it and covered in jam. Sandwiches stale and tasteless. Cakes were bland. Pretty sure it was still defrosting.... Food nothing special. Terrible table service - I think we knew more about the menu than they did??? Would never go back. They took one afternoon tea off the bill, and gave some dreadful excuses but honestly I think they were embarrassed themselves.

Good menu plenty to choose from staff very knowledgeable and would let you change the chips from thick cut to skinny ones and you did not feel that you were being difficult

Had the Haggis bon bons - small crispy bits. This is the perfect way to be introduced to this delicacy. .

We were staying in the hotel, so after we checked in we went down for a meal. Nothing very special on the menu, and I opted for a fried chicken sandwich on a brioche bun. On the menu it said it came with garlic aioli and I asked the waiter if I could have it without the aioli. No problem says he. Anyway, the sandwich appeared and I looked inside and there was a mayo/aioli type substance on it. I decided to take a bite and sure enough it was very garlicy. The waiter had disappeared so I scraped as much of it off as possible and threw off the lettuce and tomato (which were covered in it) and tried to eat it. It was not what I wanted. If they had just said they couldn't do it without the aioli, I would have ordered something else. The bar was pretty good though!

2nd time eating here food good - service as before was very very slow we advised staff we had tickets for a show at 7 pm so arrived at 5.10 pm we were offered our sweet at 6.20 pm which was quite a while this has put us off returning

Enjoyed our meal . Early dinner as we were going to the theatre. Could of done with a bit more bread with the pate left eating pate in its own .........

Durante su estancia en el hotel adyacente, comimos allí dos veces. La comida nos de un estándar muy alto y estaba delicioso. Un lugar acogedor y cómodos para comer y beber, especialmente con la nieve. La esposa tenía el sticky toffee tarta fudge, que ella me dijo que es el mejor que ha tenido. . . Tome su palabra para enfermos! Hay muchos lugares para comer en la ciudad, se podría pasar y no ser consciente de ello, pero sin duda comer aquí especialmente si se aloja en el hotel.

We&#039;ve been coming here quite a few times recently, and always been pleased with the food and service.

Good selection on offer at both breakfast & dinner. Very reasonable food & wine prices. All served by friendly staff. Only down side is it is quite a small restaurant and some of the tables are a bit close together. Thats being picky though!

Food was very good (all 3 courses) from the Christmas menu, but the service let down the place. Waiters were offering dishes to wrong tables, main course took a long time, there was no inquiries what we would like to drink (or whether we wanted more of them) or was the food good. Waitresses were almost throwing the plates to table.

Part of the Bruntsfield Hotel this place is great if you need parking and in particular disabled parking and ramp access for wheelchair. There was a 3 course lunch menu for £14.95 and a nice main menu. The food was excellent and the servers very attentive although the food was slow to come out. We had a nice view across to the Links. I would definitely recommend.

Well laid out restaurant with various sections to cater for groups or romantic couples this nice and warm restaurant has a very nice menu and very good food!

We stayed at the hotel and ate here on both nights and weren’t disappointed. All the food we had was cooked to perfection and tasted great too. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We ate here twice - out of choice - during our 1 week stay, so clearly we liked it. I can't speak highly enough of the food, and the waiters were really attentive and friendly. On our 2nd visit we were advised that the restaurant could be a little noisy, and it was. I assume that's because a lot of business folk from the same Company all stayed and were in bouyant mood. It was just high spirits and never unpleasant, so not a problem.

Visited the Bisque Brasserrie and opted for Chips and Fish, it was certainley better than our local chippy.

A bit disappointed on this visit felt there was not a great choice on the menu and table service was very slow

I've been here before for lunch and enjoyed it so didn't hesitate to recommend Bisque to my friends for dinner &amp; a catch up.How wrong could I be.Myself and one other member of the party chose to have the Thai Green Curry with added Chicken. We should have returned them right at the start as I have never encountered such an awful watery thai sauce. We both complained when our plates were taken away (hardly touched) and were offered a free dessert, however we were both feeling very put off by our main courses so we declined.The outcome of the meal was food poisoning for both of us. The other member of the party was ill for 2 days. I was ill for FIVE days!!! The person who made the booking contacted Bisque to inform them of our food poisoning and was pretty much dismissed. Very upset with this treatment and lack of concern for their clients - especially with something as serious as food poisoning. We'll never be back nor will any friends /associates of our party.

Questo ristorante ci ha piaciuto da subito e da fuori. Molto,molto soddisfacente. Arredato benissimo,ottima cucina. Raccomando la zuppa di cozze e non dimenticate di ordinare garlic bread,fantastico. Staff gentilissimo ,cena ottima e prezzo nella norma. Consiglio vivamente

This evening I ordered a Vietnamese Chicken Burger..... it supposedly came with Thai Mayo and lemongrass &amp; cucumber slaw. It didn't come with anything like that, just overcooked skinny fries. It tasted like a BBQ sauce!! Has your restaurant never heard of Trading Standards. If it's on your menu.... those ingredients must be on the plate, by law.Very Disappointed!!!!

Often a hotel restaurant is a bit of a damp squib, but this isn't one of them. A pleasant atmosphere overlooking the rear garden, varid chice of food to cater for everyone, cheerful service and reasonable prices. Give it a go.

Enjoyed the new menu during a recent stay at the hotel. Five of us dined and all chose something different - all the food was cooked to perfection and nicely presented. Extra mark for the warm plates! Staff were friendly and efficient. An enjoyable experience and will return.

This restaurant's write up gives no hint that it's within a best western hotel but don't let that put you off.We booked via OpenTable- they clearly read my special request for a garden view table which was a good start.It got better - staff were friendly and attentive, pandora monkfish cheeks were fab and the lamb shoulder special was unctuous.Topped off by outstanding value for money on both wine and food, what's not to like?

I stayed at the hotel and went down for a last Scottish dinner before leaving for the States after 2 weeks in northern Scotland. The service was prompt, waiters friendly but not intrusive, and the fillet of salmon was perfectly cooked. The boiled potatoes and green beans were also just right. I would definitely recommend this!

Restaurant very busy but starters arrived fairly quickly and were excellent. Mains also were great and ice cream for dessert was also enjoyable. Two complimentary glasses of Prosecco courtesy of waiter/manager arrived also. We enjoy a pre-theatre meal here too on occasion. Waiting Staff were friendly and attentive. As ever no fault with the kitchen.Due to dietary requirement my husband asked for a couple of alterations to the Menu and the kitchen accommodated them with no problems.

went for a bit to eat here ,as staying in Hotel ,good menu ,good quality well cooked and presented,choice of omellete and soup especially good.

Excellent food, very affordable pricing , polite service. Soups were excellent and so were the Rib Eye and Lamb Shank.

We had lunch here and apart from the service being pretty awful the food wasn't good either! When we mentioned to the waitress that the fish cakes weren't good and really dry she shrugged her shoulders and walked off! The other waitress we spoke to was more sympathetic and said she would pass our comments to the chef. When we got the bill the fish cakes main courses were removed. We didn't wait around for coffee or dessert as our one course meant we had been there for almost two hours! Would hate to imagine the service if the restaurant had been busy! Such a shame as this is a nice venue and if the weather had been nice there is a lovely garden set with tables but they really have to look at the quality of the food and service. If this is the only restaurant you can eat in if you stay at the hotel then that's not good! We won't be back!

First time to this restaurant, as it was near the theatre 🎭. The decor and lighting tastefully done. Good food selection and very delicious,good choice of wines and service was good not too in your face! Would definitely go back .
