My husband Keith and I come here all the time, have done so for many years as they keep proving they are the best in the business. Best service, best coffee, best sausage rolls (locally sourced and soooo good!), best mushroom magic and Best of all... Best hot chocolate! These guys keep smiling and treating us great no matter what this (now fake) “lock down” throws at us. We need business like this and we need them to know how much we appreciate them. Thanks guys and we will see you for takeaway soon!

Really nice cafe in Hemel town centre. We had an enjoyable morning visiting the watergardens (the gardens not the car park) and then lunch in the cafe. Good range of vegetarian and vegan options. We had roasted veg and houmous ciabattas, a bowl of mixed salad and a vegetarian sausage roll. The also serve gluten free and vegan cakes. Service was prompt, friendly and helpful.

My husband and myself have been enjoying the delightful service, food and drinks from Tiki's for many years. We come there to work, catch up on quality time and to chill and people watch. The food is great and the drinks (hot chocolate, coffee and tea) are the best in town and believe me we sampled other places aplenty. So I can only imagine the person leaving the previous review has had an encounter not to his liking; probably shouted down his mobile phone while ordering, who knows. The staff at Tiki's would never be rude and I assume they had to address some inappropriate behaviour and his ego was bent out of shape after this hence this very personal and nasty review. In all the years we've come here they have all been great and provide excellent service, asking us how we are, have a laugh and deliver our tea and coffees (and chai hot chocolate which is the best!) to our table by the window. Tiki's, you're great, unfortunately we all encounter the odd person who needs to be small (talk about shallow...).

Went back for the first time after about 4 years, hoping that it had improved. As usual, the person in charge was very nice and helpful, but the other staff member was as rude and snooty as I remember her being years back. I'm not sure why (when all they are doing is pouring coffee into a cup for Hemel folk on a break from the £9.50 hairdressers next door) the staff here have such a high opinion of themselves and look down their nose at customers. It's been raised by people on here in the past but hasn't changed which is a failing on the proprietor's behalf. Coffee was very overpriced imo, and tasted slightly better than a milky Maxwell House. I won't be going back to Tikis and will make sure in future to use one of the other 2 independent coffee shops in Marlowes, as the coffee and service are equally superior to this wannabe hipster den of shallowness and vacuity!

Great coffee, the best toasted tea cake in town with really friendly staff and comfortable sofa's and seating. What more could you want from a coffee shop? Well actually, some really great and eclectic music being played. My wife and I have been regular customers of Tiki's for over 5 years. We consider it to be the a very special place for following reasons. You will never get a better cup of coffee than what Tikis provide, whether it be a Cappucino, Latte, Americano,or Expresso together with all the other specialised drinks, Smoothies, Teas, Hot chocolate, and slso wide selction of cold drinks. Add to that the fresh home made variety of cakes and panninis, sandwiches, salads and so many more. What really makes it special though is because Amy Michie( the owner) and her staff always make you feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble to ensure you enjoy the food and drinks that they provide . I t is because of this that if you couldn't chill out and relax whilst in Tiki's you really would have trouble in relaxing anywhere. I could write so much more and will never tire of saying good things about this truly special place. Customers, like my wife and I have over the years become friends not only with other customers but with Amy and her staff also. It really is a special unique place and a joy to visit each and every week.

If we go for coffee in Hemel we usually go to Costa or Cafe Nero however thought we'd try Tikis for a change. I really wish we hadn't. The first thing I noticed when we walked in was how empty it was, followed by the bad smell. It was a bank holiday & the other coffee shops/cafes we'd passed were busy so in hindsight this should have been an indication of what to expect. I don't know if they sell fried food in Tikis but this is all you can smell when you walk in, smells like stale chip fat & it lingered on our clothes when we left which wasn't pleasant. The service we received was shocking, the girls behind the counter looked like they'd rather have been anywhere else & treated us like an inconvenience. We ordered two deluxe hot chocolates which you pay extra for as they come with cream & a flake. They were presented without a flake & when I mentioned it the girl pretty much rolled her eyes & told me they'd run out. This really annoyed me because if I hadn't have asked she wouldn't have bothered to say anything. If she'd have just apologised & said they'd run out, I wouldn't have minded - these things happen. However as she tried to hide the fact so I queried that we'd paid extra for it, at which point she pretty much threw 25p at me & said "yeah well, you pay for the cream as well, it's like 25p" - I walked away at this point because I didn't want to lose my temper. After we'd sat down I realised the 'hazelnut' hot chocolate I'd bought was actually plain, another extra we'd paid for but not received. The whole experience was totally disappointing & a waste of money. I've defiantly learned a lesson about straying away from decent high street chains, it's not even any cheaper. I'm sorry Costa, I'll never leave you again!

We visited with family recently. There is an odd smell about the place and it isn't the aroma of freshly ground coffee. Place also looks shabby, decoration is in desperate need of a refresh and the sofas are ready for the tip. Generally dirty and grimy and the service leaves a lot to be desired. Some new seating, a lick of paint would be welcome. I also had a slice of banana cake which was incredibly dry and tasteless, if the staff looked remotely interested I would have complained, instead I have learnt a lesson never to return. At best it's smelly and tatty, stick to the larger chains such as costa/Starbucks in the future.

This is an independent cafe serving really good coffee and cakes home made by the proprietor's mum. I visit this cafe regularly, virtually every time I'm in town, so I am known to the staff. I've always found them all really friendly. There's a quiet room on the 1st floor if you want to think deep thoughts, downstairs does get busy and noisy especially on Saturdays. On the downside the croissants are sometimes overbaked, not sure if this is a supplier issue or if they are baked in-house. The furniture is getting a bit tired and could do with a refresh, but nonetheless a much better bet than the chain coffee shops of which there are several

I'm really grateful for the upstairs area where children aren't allowed to go, it makes a nice quiet space for when I need to study or just relax. Amy has gone above and beyond for providing Vegan options, offering both soy and almond milk. They also stock vegan cake and some of the dark chocolate products for sale are also vegan. Staff are quite happy to let me read ingredients lists, or create me special orders with what is available. Lovely tea!Tiki's also offer a suspended coffee that customers can purchase, which can be offered to someone in need of a warm drink.

I've been in Tiki many times now, they take pride in their product, travelling to find the best beans for their coffee. Everytime you get such a warm welcome atmosphere, the staff truly are their to help and will do with a smile. It's not just a coffee shop, it's a place to talk. The owner (who works on the shop floor serving) will always listen to you, go above and beyond to help and remembers the customers. There is a help the homeless scheme where you can purchase 2 coffees rather than one and they will give a person needing a warm drink one if they ask. Truly one of the beast, most thoughtful coffee shops about.

Lovely coffee, most staff very nice and helpful, of a little slow (I guarantee that one of them is sat down eating whenever you walk in there!). Unfortunately it has very quickly stopped being a nice place to go for two main reasons.Firstly, it is sometimes hard to remember it's a coffee shop and not a creche. Customers coming for a break in their day normally have to deal with a chorus of screaming, ignored children which makes it difficult to relax. We used to get around this by sitting outside but now the majority of that area has been taken over by a large group of people who seemingly use the seating area as a day long hangout, a place for them to sit and argue loudly with each other from 10am until about 2pmWould be a lovely coffee shop if they ever remember that that's what they are. Not a pub or playschool

The cakes and sandwiches are always fresh well made and tasty,There a spot for just about everyone. Adults can go upstairs to the chill zone. It is great to see a small coffee shop stand up and even above the chain stores that are around it. Nero, Costa and Starbucks are not far away but I choose Tiki's any day. Why? Because it has a charm that the cookie cutter chain stores lack. I do not want to be asked a hundred questions when I order a coffee, I do not want to be corrected if I ask for small and in your shop that means something else, I do not want to stand around at the end of a counter waiting for my order looking around worried if I am going to be able to get a seat, I do not need my name on cup...Lovely staff, very welcoming atmosphere, that is what I want and I can forgive a few hiccups along the way. The food selection at Tiki is classic and a little limited, bacon butty is a favourite and the vegetarian alternatives are rather tasty (brie and cranberry and avocado salad). There is a play area at the back for children and a quiet coffee area upstairs. The music is inoffensive indie pop/rock. Today I had an avocado salad sandwich and a jaffa cake shake - lovely chocolatey goodness, no need for desert, although I think I will be back for some of the cakes later in the week. Tables are generally cleared quickly, although a few crumbs were left on ours which was the hiccup for me. Make sure you check out the little bars of chocolates they sell- they make great gifts and I have had numerous comments about how cute they look.

Tiki's in Hemel Hempstead is by far the best of the many coffee shops in Hemel. I would recommend Tiki's to anyone, and also would like to highlight their "paid in advance" coffee scheme, which allows you to pay ahead for a coffee for someone in need, i.e, those on low income or homeless....more places should operate this kind of scheme.I cannot emphasise enough how friendly all the staff are here, after a few visits I don't even have to place my order, they know it off by heart....An excellent place to sit, relax and just pass the time with a truly excellent cup of coffee. They do one of the best Hazelnut Latte's ever! The staff are incredibly friendly and polite, always helpful and quickly develop a rapport with the regulars - well, with everyone! Newbies and regulars are always greeted with a nice smile and attentive service. I infrequently indulge in their chocolate brownies - home-made and the right consistency between bite and melt in your mouth decadence - my husband can't get enough of their home-made lemon cakes! In the colder months I get said latte but when the weather's warm(er) I split my order evenly between their freshly home-made vanilla milkshakes (real vanilla pods!), my husband has their strawberry milkshake (real strawberries!) or sometimes we'll have a large Very Berry Smoothie - made with plenty of real fruit and ice - absolutely delicious. There is inside and outside seating but at busy periods seating is at a premium and you will find there are plenty of people enjoying the relaxing ambience Tiki's offers. It's family, push-chair and child friendly. They are popular so sometimes you may need to ask for your table to be cleared but this is always done promptly and with an apology if you have needed to ask. They serve panini's, baguettes and sandwiches but I've never eaten anything other than the brownies. My only negative - which is purely a personal opinion - is that I am never able to enjoy the outside seating as it's (obviously) populated largely by smokers, I'm a non-smoker asthmatic so I find it utterly miserable to sit outside in the summer. That is literally the only negative I have. They have free wi-fi, a loyalty card scheme (buy coffee, get stamps then get your tenth coffee free) and always go out of their way to give you a wonderful experience - even bringing my coffee out to me when I had to go and comfort my ten month old puppy who, despite me being in the shop literally two minutes to order my takeaway coffee and the many people who were only too happy to stop and say hi to the dog, had decided to scream and howl. Best of all - they are independent!

Excellent place for chai Latte and cake . Friendly happy staff . Service is quick and efficient. Very comfortable seating . Atmosphere is a cut above the rest IMO due to the staffs ability to keep it so . Well done

Tiki's is never a let down. We have been coming here for a long time now with all the family.Tiki's is a great place for us all to meet & enjoy a lovely cup of coffee and slice of home made cake! We are always welcomed with open arms and never miss popping in for a coffee whenever we are in town. I would recommend Tiki's to all ages, young to old.Well worth a visit :)

I go here all the time as it is a good price, the coffee is good, there's a huge selection and you're treated like a person rather than just another customer. Also, the loyalty card system is good. The only downside is that there sometimes aren't enough seats or the cafe is partially dominated by parents with very enthusiastic/loud children (don't get me wrong, children are great and parents have to go somewhere for coffee but sometimes I want a peaceful lunch break).

Lovely atmosphere, fantastic choice of drinks, panini's and cakes(all of which are delicious). I discovered Tiki Café whilst with a group of friends, we would extend our meeting after going to the breastfeeding café. They are very welcoming to families (breastfeeding friendly) and it has become the café of choice for our entire family which is lovely because we often bump into them unexpectedly whilst taking a break from shopping.

Coffee tastes better than costa and Starbucks, is reasonably priced they have a far better selection of teas and food......it's. no brainier really, simple as that. They offer a loyalty scheme to gain a free drink , my only criticism would be that they are slow to clear tables at times.......

Lovely little cafe with a child friendly section of toys at the back, also breastfeeding friendly. Will definitely return!

The inside is comfortable, however they could use some more staff to make things flow a little quicker. Also the outside needs some cleaning on a more regular basis.

Absolutely delicious chippy. I had the chicken nuggets and chips. The nuggets were proper hunks of chicken. The chips were a generous portion with the perfect mix of crunchy bits and fluffy chips, perfectly cooked

Unfortunately tonight the food was not up to standard. I had delivery and chips and onion rings were cold. Lamb burger overcooked thick end if tomato - overall disappointing

Excellent coffee! Shame they have changed the salads as they were so tasty and more like winter salads than the one on offer now!
