Very bad food - if I cook in sleep (and I don't cook), that would taste better than this.

When I placed my order it was showing will be delivered 9.30 and later on it was showing 10 and I got it at 9.56

Best Indian restaurant in east London by far. Been going tiffin since I was 6yrs I'm 48 now. Abu and his son are lovely people. Freshly cooked food. My mum used to take us as kids, and now I take my kids. Highly highly recommend this place.

Lamb Pasanda and Saag Aloo – Always had them 20+ years ago, when I was living and working in London, and they tasted just as divine today! Very impressive! A must-have everytime I fly into London!

Lovely small business with the loveliest staff and the most delicious Indian food we’ve had in a while !! Everything tasted so fresh and delicious! Highly recommend! Thank you for a wonderful meal and evening !!

The chicken tikka masala lid arrived cola as half off and with half the sauce all over the bottom of the bag and other items. Mess everywhere. Unable to complain to Just eat via app, on line or by email so doing it via this review. Not sure if restaurant or delivery person at fault.

Paneer tikka was still frozen when I opened either it wasn’t cooked at all or they just microwaved frozen pieces which didn’t cook it properly

I try and refrain from giving poor ratings to small businesses, but I am honestly upset that I wasted money on food that had to go in the bin. I ordered paneer tikka masala and pilau rice, but was given paneer tikka (without sauce). That’s fine, mistakes happen. But the paneer tasted horrible. Like it had gone off. It tasted of blue cheese, which is certainly not what you want paneer to taste like. It had to go to waste as I am sure I would’ve gotten sick had I finished it. The garnishes it came with, like sliced carrot and cucumber were also old and inedible. Please owners, make sure you are not selling inedible food like this in the future. I would rather have been told you were sold out of paneer than be given something like that and pay for it.

We are big fans of Indian cuisine and we were very impressed with everything we were served here tonight . Outstanding dishes all freshly prepared and served by lovely friendly staff . We had mixed meat starter and Chicken chat followed by Karahi chicken and Boti kebab which were all excellent and lamb was particularly good and all the sides were well presented and great tasting.There were many locals calling in to collect takeaway and others eating in which is not surprising given the high standards of the food . We will be becoming regulars here as our son lives close by . Couldn’t eat everything so we were given containers to take it home but managed to squeeze in some Gulabjamun which like everything else was excellent. Definitely a five star experience.

Both biryani and bhuna had more bones than meat in them. Really upset about that as the taste and flavour was nice.

I didn’t even receive my order. And they said the food has been delivered. Just mugged me for £20. What low life.

Service is second to none! great food always fresh, arrives steaming hot! prawn puri is always delicious, food tastes just like home cooking my go to when im feeling lazy. :)

The food taste was nice. As a Bengali I wanted authentic taste and that it was..however I ordered Ayre fish, and they gave Rohu fish (which was £2 cheaper), so that was cheeky. If you don't have an item, inform the customer. Don't send an alternative you have no idea if they want. Secondly, the portions were laughable... small containers, even then half full with lots of sauce and hardly any meat. Disappointed. Increase sizes as food is nice in taste which is a rare find for this cuisine!

Only complain about AKHANI BIRIYANI . Sorry to say that. Worst biriyani ever tried. No taste at all .

Delivery was late. Over an hour. They did however give a complimentary side to make up for this, although it wasn’t to my taste. The food was tasty but I did feel the naan and poppadoms weren’t as fresh as should be. I will order again as the main dish was of nice flavour and cooked well.

I am fortunate enough to live a stones throw away from Tiffin Restaurant. (Cannon Street Road E1). There's an array of Indian & Pakistani restaurants in the Whitechapel/Shadwell area, but many are similar in style and this is where Tiffin stands out. There used to be many full menu Indian places to eat in London but today they are few and far between and often if they do exist they are neglected and no longer worthy places of interest. At Tiffin Restaurant the Masalas are potent and memorable, the Tandoori breads, as good as I have eaten. The owner makes his own Akhni Biriyani and is rightly proud of the recipes he has nurtured over the Tiffins 25+ years of existence.

trying tiffin for the first time. Food was tasty but exceptionally small portions. Also no poppadum were delivered - altho we paid for them.

The food was tasty but arrived late and was cold. And if you order poppadom for a pound, you literally get one poppadom, which is pretty expensive.

Tara dhal weren’t the greatest was lacking seasoning. The tandoori biriyani was taste maybe next time put the salad in a separate container not on top of rice.

In my last Order Restaurant asked me to change the order as they don’t have the item I have ordered and when they delivered 2 ice creams was placed in a poly bag and fully melted. Food was cold. Delivery was 30 mints late. Very Poor Service.

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect as the restaurant was empty when I went in- maybe because it’s Ramadan. The vegetable Thali I had was absolutely delicious & the owner so friendly & helpful. Fab food. I’m working in the area & plan to go back tomorrow.

I have just received a delivery from Tiffin and the food is terrible. The naan breads were basically raw, all of the food was weirdly sweet and the lamb in the lamb pasanda was inedibly chewy. Very disappointing after all the great reviews

Staying at Shadwell so checked out reviews of local Indian Restaurants, the ones for Tiffins looked very good, and am pleased to report they were right. Okay so the Diet Coke was best before Feb 2017 and our visit was October 2017, but the food itself was wonderfully presented, looked really fresh, and carried an assortment of tastes as opposed to a lot of Indian's where the flavours become mixed, or imbalanced meaning the less strong flavours are lost. Well done to the chef. The 'restaurant' itself is basic, but pleasant, and run by very friendly & attentive staff We shared a Tiffin mixed meat starter, and i followed that with a Meat Thali, which I struggled to finish - so was glad my wife was enjoying it too :o) Wife had a Lamb Ur-Salum, which was also very enjoyable - yes we basically shared the dishes & were rewarded with a great assortment.

Very disappointed with the food and service at tiffin. The food lacked basic flavours and seasoning . You couldn't taste no flavour from the dishes . Person I spoke to jumped dwn the phone before I could even raise my question for calling . Won't be ordering again

This place is near our room, so we walked over for dinner. What a delight. We started with delicious Papdoms and the shared Vegetable Thali. Great Indian food and presentation in an unpretentious setting.

Lets start with delivery.. delivery was on time. I live round the corner but they charged £2.50 for delivery fare enough. Food.. bad experiance ever.. possion was extrymly small. Tasteless.

Delivery was late by 25min and the food was below average. Lamb chops were very salty and overly charred. Naan was bland and the curries were not up to par. Disappointed given the good reviews by others.

Not sure which Indian to choose in Brick Lane? Hate the hawkers trying to talk you into every eating place? Too many to choose from? Go instead to the Tiffin for good quality, freshly cooked indian food. You might not choose it for fine dining, as it is fairly basic, but the food is top notch. And, as they don't sell alcohol, you can "bring your own" and reduce the overall cost. This was my fourth visit to the Tiffin (I don't live in London, never mind nearby) but Aboul gave me my usual friendly welcome and served up some excellent food, including some "specials" that he suggested that were worth the recommendation. You can pick your own dishes from the extensive menu or ask for advice - we're very glad we ordered the lamb chop starter - after dithering - as it was delicious: wonderful flavour and very tender (and my dog loved the lamb bones the next day!). I'd happily eat at the Tiffin any time I am in East London. Although it's not expensive, it's not the cheapest in the area, but - in my experience - it is the best.

I've ordered chicken tikka from many restaurants but this is best so far! It's fresh, delicious and well spiced. Highly recommended

Lovely family run restaurant, which we've been using for years for both take away and eat In. The service is always friendly, Abdul, the owner is very chatty and a mine of curry knowledge.

I've been coming to this restaurant regularly now for several years with a group of friends and we always have excellent food and service from Abdul who is keen to make sure we enjoy ourselves.

Had a takeaway last night from Tiffin. Highly recommend - food was so fresh and delicious. Will be back for more!

Abul, the owner and Head Chef warmly welcomed us, explaining the various options and details of the dishes, and about the spices and freshness of the ingredients he uses. His expert knowledge added to the dining experience and he was totally committed to ensuring we enjoyed the meal, experimented, and learned about the food too. The naan's were great, the mutton curry fantastic, and the vegetable curries were very tasty, and not oily as in some places. Our vegetarian nieces enjoyed the thalis, and Abul was always checking on how we were doing. Heartily recommended.

Excellent as usual. This is a regular fixture in our house. My recommendation is try the Boti Kebab!

We eat here regularly and enjoy a menu with healthy options, for those that want them, and good fresh tasting food. Great sizzling options, and some different vegetarian options to the usual.

The food was very well made and with great flavour; you can understand why they have such a good rating. But the most stand out point to make is the service; amazingly friendly and very precise, it instantly builds a rapport of quality. I wouldn't hesitate to order or visit again.

The fact that this restaurant has stood on the same spot for decades is a testimony to its reputation, the owner and his sons make this place a welcoming one with great atmosphere to enjoy food in with family and friends. The food is exceptionally good and chef's seem well experienced using fresh vegetables and some unusual spices too.

Worst takeaway food...salty and very untasty. We spent over 26pounds on nothing...Don´t recommend it to anyone!

I finished half of my meal and asked for the rest to be prepared to take away. They agreed, but then accidently threw it out. That can happen, but no refund or replacement has been offered.I ended up paying £13.50 for three small bits of chicken, half a portion of rice and a mango lassi that was so sugary that I couldn't drink it. Not impressed.

Good budget eating in London is pretty much impossible to find. But Tiffin sold me nice chicken bhuna, jolly rice and excellent saag aloo for takeaway at an absolutely tiny price.

Tasty grub & delivered promptly and politely

Abu the owner is a really friendly chap who is passionate about fresh, good quality food.My favourite is the murghi kofta (chicken meatballs in gravy), my standard order. The restaurant itself is very clean.They've even got a low cholesterol menu for the health conscious.

I was very disappointed at the delivery. Food took an hour and a half to arrive despite the stated delivery time of 45 mins. And when I called them, each time I was told the delivery boy was on the way. As a result the food arrived was tepid and soggy. Food was passable quality, not exceptional. I ordered a starter of chicken chaat which was quite tasty. The main however (I ordered the fish of the day), was bland and oily. Being bengali I know what bengali fish should taste like, and this was far from it. All in all, its NOT WORTH the price. I paid 20 pounds for a meal that took too long to arrive and wasn´t tasty. Might as well have eaten out.

Consistently good food and really good, friendly service. We placed an order just as they closed and assumed they cancelled the order - they called us back to confirm they would honour the order (20mins after closing time) and delivered our food personally because the delivery guys had gone for the evening. Great service, good food, reasonable prices, what more can you ask for?!

On the whole, the service and the food was exceptional here. After a quick confirmation call and an ´off menu´ extra request - The food was delivered promptly, professionally and politely. OK... the details: The Sheek Kebabs here are to die for! Perfectly made - not overly spicy or over cooked (as you´d find in a lot of other establishments). The garlic naan bread and the salad were also immaculate. This was rounded off by a perfect dessert of Gulab Jamun - which, was again refreshingly done right - Not too overly sweet or rock hard. OK... so why only five stars out of six? OK... now I´m going to get really picky: I felt that the lamb chops could be improved upon. They felt a little overcooked, using the ´short-cut´ tandoori marinade (which works great for the chicken dishes, but not necessarily right for lamb chops). I strongly suggest that the chef pays a visit to a certain restaurant on Umberston Road, named after a Pakistani city and take note of the perfect lamb chop. Great restaurant, great food and service! I will be ordering from Tiffin again. Thanks again guys....!

Best indian takeaway Ive ever had. Very quick delivery, food nice and hot, great quality. I find it hard to order from anywhere else now.
