Tia Maria Tapioca in Lambeth

We celebrated my birthday at Tia Maria last Friday, and it was incredible! My guests had a great time singing karaoke, and we were also able to dance a high-quality samba afterwards. Everything was delicious. The snacks and the house cake were just perfect They even took the thoughtful step of preparing separate portions of snacks for me, as I am gluten intolerant. Alex was lovely, and his service exceeded all expectations. Aunt Maria, see you soon.

The staff is super friendly and Alex was very attentive to all of our requests during the launch of the book “Women Who Transform”. The atmosphere is welcoming and the food is well prepared. It brings back memories of our Brazilian roots.

Went on a Tuesday in January so obviously a little quiet but the staff were very friendly and the food very authentic (I went with a Brazilian). I am definitely going back the weekend as there is a stage and for sure a little party. Would recommend especially for a little mid week date.

It was the best ribs with cooked cassava in my life.

My second time in London, by some chance my husband who is Portuguese told us to go to a Brazilian bar and on the internet he found Tia Maria! A wonderful bar, with super friendly service just like we Brazilians are used to! In particular, I would like to thank Alex who, from the moment I called to reserve a table, was one of the best! Flávia,Claire is amanzing atendent! And when I got to the bar, it couldn't have been better! From the security guards to the bartenders, it couldn't have been better! With love Gerci ♥️

My husband and I were very well received. Great service, everyone was very polite and the food was very Brazilian!! Very tasty, I felt like I was in Brazil for a few hours. Perfect!

I am half Brazilian and always go back and the food here was by far way better than any other Brazilian I have been to in London so far. So authentic. The workers were also super kind and lovely. Best caipirinhas in town with other two cocktail places. We loved it we had the best time very very much like being back in Brasil.

If you're in London and miss Brazilian food, go to this wonderful place. I went to lunch with my family today and we were served by Flávia, who by the way served us really well. The food smelled great and was really tasty, the beans were wonderful, the picanha was delicious, everything was perfect. Congratulations to everyone and especially to Flávia who served us 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

This place has bad service! The food was already bad a few days ago! The people who serve take too long and are very rude! Not to mention the mess on the wall.

I normally don’t write negative reviews because I generally give people benefit of the doubt, but our experience was ruined tonight by one rude server. We have always wanted to try out this place because we love Brazilian food. Tonight, we stopped by to order some starters for takeaway and were very excited! The server (with a hat) who took our order was perfectly nice and polite. After waiting for 30 minutes for our food (which again, was just starters, no main entree) with no updates, I came up to another server (because the first one wasn’t there at the time) to ask if he could please check on our order because it’s been 30 minutes. He told me to “calm down” with a hand gesture for me to step back (he was behind the counter anyway so it’s not like I was in his face or anything like that). I was genuinely so confused because I asked him nicely. He claimed I was screaming. Huh?? I was standing by the speaker with loud music when I spoke to him, so I spoke at a normal “loud pub” volume to actually be heard. If I was actually screaming, I would have owned up to it. The first server saw the whole interaction and offered us some extra food as an apology, which was a kind gesture, but we didn’t take it. We were hopeful to potentially become regulars here, but the second server had ruined the entire experience. Do NOT recommend unless you enjoy being wrongly accused.

Went for some tapas on the way to a party and it was amazing! 10/10 authentic Brazilian food. Even The chips tasted amazing. The drinks, superb, delicious handmade Lemonade. The calamari was superb, delicate and not chewy. Alex was great, the service was so lovely. It wasn't busy, which surprised me as the food was so good. We were well looked after and it looked as if they were preparing to be busy. We did arrive when it opened at 12, starving for lunch. Either way, it did not disappoint! So good. Even the greens. If we were local we would be there every weekend!

Brazilians honoring the flag, with impeccable cuisine, excellent service, with generous meals from £12, I recommend it 100%, tip if you are staying at a hotel close to the restaurant, as it is worth having lunch at Tia Maria every day.

If you want amazing food, service and great drinks, you should definitely try this place! My friends and I went on my birthday to celebrate and we had such a good time. Took a couple of Americans to this cute Brazilian spot over the summer. They bloody loved it! Cocktails, live music and fried snacks were amazing. Bravo Tia Maria!

With my friends we ate and had a drink there, the service is impeccable, a good atmosphere with good music and the food is excellent. We ate Bolognese pasta two nights in a row, killer 🥰!

I want to thank everyone at Tia Maria for such a lovely night - I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and firstly the food is delicious, then the music was so much fun, but best of all, even though the kitchen had just closed I told them it was her birthday and they made a beautiful desert with a candle and the musician played happy birthday song - I can’t recommend this place highly enough it’s authentically Brazilian and just overall a great place to spend the evening :) x

My experience today was terrible, the orders were all wrong, the chef worked alone and the boy managed alone, I witnessed an unnecessary fight because after a certain hour the women paid and a Portuguese security guard prevented a 70 year old lady from entering the room for Because of 5 books where her daughter was already in the place dancing and drinking and after the mother's impediment between her, she already changed and lost her head.... Everything very unnecessary, I think the owners need to review the concepts of the house.... a lot sad because we went to have a nice night and instead there were fights, the police in the room, seeing the girl being arrested and the security guard worried about her nails💅 I was shocked... really very disappointing.... So the best option is to leave the place and have fun somewhere else...

We spent 1 hour waiting for food on Sunday with a dozen people in the place, then they came to tell us if we wanted to stay in the place we would have to pay £15 as they were having an event, they could have said when we arrived that we wouldn't have waited 1 hour to eat and still pay the service fee... I won't go back.

Tia Maria is a lovely small venue with Brazilian food and drinks, including a large selection of fruit juices. I go here most Sunday nights for the forró night, starting with a class by Forró Academy followed by live music. The band is fantastic!

The food arrived a little cold, the dish I ordered I thought the portion would be a little better, the meat had a bit of a burnt taste, but other than those details everything was perfect.

The food was tasty, but it took ages to be served. The prices were a little high, but I guess that's London. Oh, I'm not so sure about the way the stroganoff was served, a bit too gimmicky tbh; and the salad and farofa portions were small. The main dish was lovely, especially the 'cupim' steaks.

Unfortunately, it was not pleasant. The food was served cold, dry fries and the end of the packet, menu on Google with outdated prices. The salad was seasoned with sugar, I called the manager Tainara to complain, she didn't insist on changing it. Happy oyr of drinks until 7pm was not well explained, I ended up paying the normal price. And they still want to charge 10% for the service? Terrible service. I DO NOT RECOMMEND

I went there to dance forro, the place was way way way crowded, you need to control the amount of people in. The floor is no good for dancing, very sticky. Perhaps it was my bad luck due to the day I chose to go

Great atmosphere and musicians. However, very overpriced food and drinks. I ordered a feijoada (typical Brazilian food), it took ages to be served. When it was finally served, it was cold, not much food and full of horrible pieces of meat. I paid just under £20 (!!) for it and regretted every penny. The drinks are overpriced and juices made from concentrate. The Caipirinha looks and tastes like a lemon slushy. Very disappointing.

Restaurant without heating, we were frozen, we had dinner with our coat on, the dishes were very miserable, the 50gr meat (not like the menu that describes 220gr) we called the waitress and said that the cooked meat loses water 😂total absurdity that we spent €75 on 2 plates of beans with rice and 2 glasses of very expensive wine. We will not return again.

Drank a decent enough Guinness while watching a Salsa class

Wonderful service and incredible food.

If you are here because you saw that this accommodation is listed on AirBnb, I recommend that you continue searching. We stayed for a week and our experience went from bad to worse. There was no cutlery, to enter the bathroom you had to jump over the toilet, not to mention the lack of hygiene in the ENTIRE place. The photos speak for themselves.

We really liked it. Super tasty food.

We ended up there last Wednesday and they had the mains discounted. With the discount, the prices were unbeatable for London these days and the food was delicious. I ordered the Chicken stroganoff (the vegan option was also delicious) and the portion was big. On the downside, the food took a while to come. The place was quite empty, must be one of the quietest days.

The Chicken Stroganoff is the nicest I've ever tasted- go for that!

There was only one other table in the restaurant on a Saturday evening. It took 25 minutes for them to ask us for drinks, and that is when one of us went up to the bar to ask if we can order. Some people very much enjoyed their food (they all received chicken stroganoff). Everyone else in the group did not. The whole experience was chaotic.

A very fun place, and for those who like dancing, this is the place, with very good teachers.

Great pub with authentic Brazilian food and friendly staff.

Looks like a typical English pub from the outside but the food is authentic Brasiliero. Stopped in for an early dinner and the place was relatively quiet. Karaoke was later so it began to pick up before we left. Ordered the first appetizer tray and mixed grill on the menu. Loved the food. Highlights were the cassava chips, calamari and grilled chicken and steak. Friendly staff. Good mojito and caipirinha. All close to Vauxhall Tube station.

Absolutely amazing experience, food and staff were brilliant, the atmosphere was lovely, it was great to see the Sunday night band as well. Will definitely be coming back next time we're in London. Vito and Thay were fantastic hosts! We spent five hours here but it could have easily been all day!

Rented the apartment for the night. Great value and great people that run the place. Very friendly service. I didn't have time to dine with them.

Not a very nice experience at all. Awful service throughout, from 5 pm when the table was booked for and there wasn't many customers in the place, all the way to when the place was busy and crowded. Drinks taking more than 45 minutes to be made, starters were rubbish, so we never bothered to actually order any dinner and just kept with the drinks. Later, when trying to enjoy some music, I was asked to leave the establishment by being screamed at by the bouncer due taking a puff of a vape when interestingly there were individuals taking drugs in the bathroom and smoking weed in the garden. To also having my property snatched off my hand violently and placed in the bin when she (the bouncer) could have just asked me to leave in a civilised manner. Absolutely vile behaviour, after spending so much money somewhere, you'd expect at least some respect even when been asked to leave, I managed to get my property dug out off the bin and given back to be. Will never recommend this place nor will be going back there.

Good atmosphere and good music. Live Brazilian music, there is a space to eat and a space to dance. There is a small beer garden too. People dance and the food is great. They have a vegan feijoada which is something hard to find. The downside is that they are understaffed (or at least were when I was there). I waited more than 20 minutes at the till for a beer (several times). They also forgot my food, so I waited an hour for a salad. Drinks are not cheap but not expensive considering it's London.

I’ve been to this place twice. They offer legit Brazilian food, and some dishes have a “British” twist. First time I was with a larger group, we shared different starters and mains and it was quite good- we had feijoada, coxinhas, caçava and alikes. Loads of caipirinhas, passion fruit juice and brigadeiros. Couldn’t wait to go back. Second time I went with a friend on a Sunday, we were the firsts to arrive for lunch. Dishes came quite quickly (coxinhas, mini pastés and stroganoff) but unfortunately they were cold. Quite disappointing. Slightly pricey. I heard is a cool place to hang out among Brazilians in the evening but never been.

I only visited for drinks and forró dancing. Very friendly atmosphere and good service.

Came here twice. The first night was better. There was no entrance fee and the atmosphere was better. The live Brazilian Farro music was supurb.

Came back after several months expecting a nice experience as before hand. For 6 -7 songs we have paid 10£ each to enter the venue. Double price to what we were used. The drinks are served in plastic cups and while I understand the safety reason I don’t get why the cocktails are now half size as they used to be before and definitely not on the previous quality. This is not the center of London and while we all understand everything is more expensive we expect the quality to hold the price increase. It does not and it’s a shame. If management is changed I only recommend the take note of reading the reviews and consider a satisfactory treatment of guests!

Ese local é extremamente pesado o ambiente e súper pesado só vai pessoas mal intencionadas tem muitas brigas porque as pessoas no vai na intenção de se divertir mas si para brigar e muito baixo o local foi a primeira vez que fui e última não recomendo e super perigoso corre o risco de sair sem vida do local cuidado ⛔️😘

Visitamos el lugar un domingo, el lugar estaba casi solo y aún asi debimos esperar casi una hora para que nos llegara la comida, la cual cuando llega está ya fría y no tiene el mejor sabor. El ambiente del lugar no era el mejor, había música en vivo, demasiado ruido, no apto para tener una comida.
