The Belle Vue in Lambeth

Nice little spot this one. Went to have a beer and ended up watching some football on the big projector. The crowd were civilised but it had a great buzz about it too. Chap behind the bar said they were chanting the menu soon too and was pretty excited about it. Think I’ll pop in again next time I’m down that way.

James was great. Very hospitable and accommodating.

James was incredible and helped us set up our booked area. Would recommend.

Good trivia and fine selection of drinks but really let down by the food. We looked at the menu online only to find it had changed in the pub and not been updated. To our surprise, there were no gluten free mains on offer and the one vegetarian main was sold out (at 7pm on a Tuesday) meaning half the people at our table couldn't eat. The manager explained the kitchen was run independently but didn't make an effort to find a solution for us and got aggressive when we, understandably, expressed our frustration. Apparently the kitchen is being brought in house within the next few weeks, so maybe this won't be an issue in future but I'd ring and double check if you have any dietary requirements as there wasn't any interest in catering to us!

We're regular guests at Belle Vue and we're happy to say that under new management and crew, pub is flourishing. Couple weeks ago we met Magic and James who were absolutely amazing and made our night. No question left without answer, no job too big. Awesome!

Cute inside, no table service so you have to order food and drink at the bar. Menu is confusing, burgers don't come with chips and limited gluten free options. Tiny portions.

£14 for a tiny portion of pulled pork fries and a pint of Diet Coke felt quite steep

This is a truly lovely corner pub in the heart of Clapham. Really lovely decor with seasonal touches draping from the ceiling and a warm and inviting base decor. For a relatively small pub there's a good draught range and ok wines and spirits - but it works for the pub. The food is really tasty, it's a mexican kitchen (although this may change as from what I can tell it's a separate franchise kitchen to the pub management) and the food is full of flavour and spice, I thought the 1 veggie burger option was quite unappealing (though tbf I didn't try it) but this limited the menu somewhat. The veggie tacos were tasty and cheesy fries particularly good. It would have been nice to have more choice as a veggie and also just a more varied menu - but the food was good, I understand you've got to sell what people generally buy, I think probably it's gone to an outside kitchen over doing their own pub classics because that works better - and like I say it was good when I had it! What stands out most are the staff. I came in on a (I'm guessing) relatively busy Wednesday night, with every table taken (for good reason!), it's not been overwhelming for the staff at any point and they have been so friendly and polite at every point. They've been incredibly attentive, my drink could not possibly have gone empty without them noticing, and as I am in on my own I've just been standing at the bar - but when I ordered food they went out of their way to find me a table or stool or something to make my experience that much more comfortable. It's been a lovely evening done really well!

Very nice pub but charging £7.20 for a pint of Guinness is ridiculous. Just pure greed . I won't be back to be ripped off .

Wicked spot in Clapham Common, great atmosphere and lovely team - a proper pub. Also great view of screens so will definitely be here for the six nations. Shout out to Andy for looking after us he’s a top bloke.

A haven of sensibility in Clapham, nice place to catch up with peeps and right opposite the station. Food was good, as a chicken wing connoisseur I would recommend. New Gm Andi is a legend. All round 5*

Went here for a anniversary roast, but, didn’t go as planned.. Booked roast for 3pm, place was quite packed but not that you couldn’t move. Arrived there and it took the waiter about 20 minutes to ask us for drinks, had to pick up our own menus because nobody gave them and waiter didn’t notice we didn’t have any.. only to find out that the only left roasts were chicken or veggie… oh well maybe they’ll taste incredible! Roast arrived and were incredibly disappointing, chicken had one part of the wing with some seasoning but was Bland AF, the Yorkshire puddings looked like the frozen ones from aunt Bessie’s. Nobody asked if we had enjoyed the food or not, just asked if we wanted dessert (guessing the waiter knew lol)… Overall a really bad place for food, might have been we arrived late (although 3pm for a Sunday roast doesn’t sound crazy) but will definitely not coming back neither would I reccomend it to anyone. Go for drinks, pub quiz can be alright but avoid the food..

My friends and I regularly make an appearance every Sunday and the staff are really accommodating, especially as we’re usually a big group. We play board games & card games (provided inside the pub) and have food/drinks - the roast is the best one in Clapham. Love that the food is affordable, unlike a lot of the other pubs in the area where a main is starting from £16+ for sub par food. Special shoutout to Jordan too!

Very warming and tasty take on a sunday roast. Ideally would liked a thicker gravey and fluffier potatoes but the crispiness was on point. Service was amazing considering only 2 on shift for a busy sunday lunch rush with a table of about 10 turning up with no reservations. The guys working dealt with it all calmly and still provided attention to their guests

Food took 40 minutes yet the place was pretty much empty. The roast was cold and potatoes were dry. Not great especially for the price. But lovely location.

I hired a space in the Belle Vue for my 30th birthday party with 50+ guests - it was a fantastic atmosphere with great drinks and music! I can't thank the team enough for their help and service on the night, I would highly recommend for an event 😊

We stopped at this pretty pub for lunch: the place is very beautiful, well decorated and pleasant. We had the classic burger, the meat was tasty and perfectly cooked on the grill. Small disappointment: no more craft beer (empty) with a very limited choice. But we had a nice time there, that's the main thing :-)

Este es mi local y tengo suerte de que el personal nos conoce bien a mí y a mis foibles. Ahora hay una casa muy bonita blanca (Viognier templa el Sauvignon Blanc perfectamente) y mi cómodo taburete en la esquina es perfecto para charlar con el personal y prácticamente todos los demás. Toco y canto aquí con bastante regularidad. Ayer probé el parfait de pollo y aunque no había suficientes tostadas, el parfait estaba perfecto.

Impromptu food at the Belle Vue made me think why the hell I haven't had food here before, noticed the menus and feeling peckish, order the Cheesy Cajun Chips and Chicken strips. Great presentation and absolutely delicious, the chicken was tender and crispy buttermilk was perfect. The cheesy chips with cajun spice were sensational and hit the spot perfectly. Will definitely be back to try more from the menu! Special thank you to Jamie and Erin for the last minute order before close and being so welcoming.

Came here for drinks but the food was amazing! We had the Tacos and the chicken strips which were delicious! Quick service and Jamie and Erin behind the bar were really friendly! Definitely recommend!

A night to remember! This charming Clapham venue did not disappoint, it had everything you'd expect from a high-class establishment. From the electric atmosphere to the gorgeous guys at the bar. One of the highlights was Jamie - an absolute gem. Not only did she nail our drinks order every time, but she never spilled a drop. And the music? Pure genius! It was almost as if the DJ was reading my mind. Overall The Belle Vue was a very positive experience!

I had an incredible experience at Bellevue with my partner. Erin was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also delivered warm, personalized service. She made the best margaritas I’ve ever had! The food was just as impressive, and I highly recommend trying the Afuego burger.

Some of the very best Sunday roast I've ever had. Great beer selection as well. Portion sizes are well worth the price. I promise you won't leave hungry and you'll definitely want to come back for more.

Awful experience. I am a regular and today I felt treated rudely by the person on the floor. I dropped my bag at the table and went to the bar to order 3 beers. While I was bringing the first two beers to the table, the waiter told me that the table were all reserved. I told him that I had already ordered my beers and that there was not sign of reserved area to what he replied ‘I am telling you’. So rude! He really needs basic training on people skills. Anyway, left as I felt very unwelcomed

Nice pub with good service, food, and drinks selection. Used to be a decent place to watch the football but they seem to be trying to cater to a different crowd now so last time I was there they let us know they wouldn't be putting the sound on for the big matches. The football was the main reason we were there, so we left to find somewhere else at half time. Not sure if this is a new general policy or just for a Sunday.

My First time I came to this bar, I had an hour to spare before I head of to the cinema. The staff welcoming and friendly. Then outside the window I saw The King! I managed to get a video of the moment.

Went here for a Sunday roast and it was one of the best I've had in ages! The jus with the roasts was delicious, and roasties were excellent and fluffy! I also love that they do a lamb roast, which seems to be rare to find in London!

Following a very bad brunch at an establishment that I will not name (began with ‘Meg’ and ended in ‘ans’), me and the good lady decided to frequent the Belle Vue as we knew that good service was guaranteed. Boy did it deliver. Immediately we were greeted with the warmest of smiles and a sincere happy new year from the barman. The chips then arrived with both mayo and ketchup included (without asking) - what a treat. A stunning remedy for a turmoil filled morning. Thanks Belle Vue!!!! You never miss.

I ordered the pie but was disappointed, it was cold in the middle. Not very nice at all. What surprised me more was a guy taking a beer back to the bar and telling them it was flat. The barman was really rude, bordering on aggressive, poured in into another glass and handed it back to him. The poor guy just walked out. I was so shocked by the the member of staff - it was the rudest thing I've seen in a long time and completely unnecessary - I was stunned. If that's how they treat customers I'm never going back - plenty more friendly bars in Clapham.

Rude staff. Pint was flat and asked to change it to something else and the guy just poured it into another glass and said “it’s no flat”. So much attitude. Will not be going back here

They've recently changed the kitchen team doing the Sunday Roasts... and it is *excellent*. Genuinely one of the best I've had in London.

2 days ago I went and had a terrible experience with some serious rudeness from staff. In Canada this place would be out of business in day but in Queens England apparently tolerated. Hope things get better in future..

Went for a family birthday today and I honestly cannot speak highly enough about the experience. My family used to live in the area and we decided to take a trip down memory lane and booked a couple of tables and we are so glad we did, the choice of beers were amazing, the food was top notch and what really made it was the staff. I have to shout out Ollie and Roland, absolute stars, they made us feel welcome and went above and beyond for us. (Managers if you are reading this they deserve a bonus, reward, medals, pay raise!) We will be coming back, please thank Ollie for taking such good care of my family, he really is a credit to the pub!

went for a roast last sunday - was really good for the price - the only thing that could be improved would be the potatoes - would also recommend getting the cauliflower cheese - was absolutely delicious they also have a great range of ciders & all the staff were v v friendly :)

Probably my preferred pub on the high street - not too difficult to get a drink and plays good music on a Saturday night. Good amount of seating/standing room.

We had lunch today 8.10.23 , the roast beef and Lamb was tough, the roast potato creameted, the cheese burger was cold. Not sure if the chef pre cut both the beef and lamb and left under the pass for to long. A roast lunch is one of the simplest dishes to cook , I do think the chef needs some basic training on cooking roasts . The cutlery in the containers on the table was dirty. The water glasses and the water container had water marked obviously not polished . And it took 25 minutes from order to delivery of food to the table and the pub was not busy with food orders . The front of house staff need to be a little more friendly , maybe a little training on customer service might help.

What a shame. On the outside, it looked like a lovely pub and was really looking forward to having the Sunday roast. The food was poor, the lamb and beef were dried and tough to eat, and the jue was so watery, I only had two very small roast potatoes that were not cooked throughly and oily. Would not recommend the roast. It was barely luke warm. The service was so slow that we waited 40 mins. It's not a great experience for the price it's not cheap.

Nice pub, but the toilet was full of flies. I took a video because I have never seen anything like it in the UK, literally about 100 flies buzzing around and on the walls

The ambiance is average during the week, the food is satisfactory, and the staff is friendly. However, I must mention that my two star rating stems from the fact they don't offer free phone charging during the week; instead, it costs £6 (more than half the minimum wage). Perhaps it's understandable on weekends, but in a bustling environment like London, it serves as a reminder that you're just another anonymous customer and really represents ideals of modern pubs.

I've been there twice now, once for Sunday lunch and another time just for drinks. The place is really lovely with a great atmosphere. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food was lovely too! And they were very accommodating of my dog, which was really appreciated. Definitely recommend!
