We stayed at Premier Inn at Gatwick's North Terminal and enjoyed dinner on two nights at Thyme Restaurant. It far more convenient to dine-in than go elsewhere or suffer the limited, bad-valued terminal food. It is advisable to book dinner as you check-in, especially if you enjoy eating early. The meal deal can be a good value, but in our case we didn't save really on the first night so just paid menu prices on the 2nd night. With the meal deal, our 2 drinks, one naan bread and chicken added to my Thai curry came to another £19. The food was very tasty. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Chicken Makhani curry! I do find the food a little pricey for what it is. The second night we just had 4 appetisers, one wine and a soda and that totaled £39. But, it is a hotel and the other options in the terminal really would cost twice as much and not taste half as good.

This is an extremely good establishment in all respects. Although it is a busy airport restaurant with a high throughput of diners, the food is of very good quality, with a good range of choices, and at a reasonable price. But a special word must be said for the quality of service. It was top-notch. The waiters were polite, professional, attentive and friendly. Our thanks go to them for making such a great dining experience. Thyme Restaurant comes with our highest recommendations.

Tuesday evening 7th December we stayed the night at the Premier Inn at Gatwick North Terminal. This is the restaurant and bar at the Hotel, located on the same floor as reception. It is usually advisable to make a reservation when booking the Hotel, sometimes there are dinner and breakfast deals available. On this occasion we did not have a reservation and the restaurant had a number of people queueing at the door. We decided to have a drink first and wait for things to quieten down. While waiting at the bar, to be served, we spotted a bar food menu. We had a look at the menu and decided to order food to eat in the bar area, rather than wait for the restaurant. We ordered a pizza, with three toppings, ham, mushrooms and pepperoni, to share, the idea was if one pizza was not enough we could order something else later. Ordered the pizza at the bar, £13.49, we were given a buzzer which would sound when the food was ready for collection. The pizza was not bad at all and was sufficient as we did not order anymore food. The bar got rather busy at times and a bit noisy with some rather loud and overexcited holidaymakers. When busy it took some time to be served. Overall not it was not too bad here, service a bit hit and miss, glasses and crockery could be cleared in a bit quicker which would free up seating for guests.

My boyfriend and I don’t agree on breakfast as he likes a Full English and I like Continental. We chose this as it had both and it was buffet style – also an excellent price at £9.99 per person. There was plenty of choice with everything and the hot food was being replaced frequently. The two toaster machines (both took two pieces of bread at a time) were quick and toasted not too little and not too much so it suited everyone. The staffs were very friendly and quick at their jobs. A lovely, clean and relaxing setting with no pressure to be rushed.

This place is a phenomenon. It’s the only restaurant in the Gatwick North Premier Inn, which has 700 rooms. It wouldn’t surprise us if they served 1,000 people on some days when the hotel is full. And yet every time we’ve been here before or after a holiday flight, the service has been efficient and the food good. On our most recent stay, our waitress (Lauren W) again was really friendly and helpful. The food is nothing fancy - just regular Premier Inn fare - but it’s good value and always comes quickly to the table and is hot when it arrives. Other hotels should visit this place to see how to serve large volumes of guests this efficiently.

Tuesday evening 13th June and we were spending the evening at the Premier Inn at Gatwick, North Terminal. This is the resturant and bar in the Hotel. We pre-booked a table a few days in advance, would recommend doing this as at peak times there maybe no tables available. We turned up at the appointed time and were shown to our table and given the menus. We were pleasantly surprised to see that the menu had changed from our previous visit and there were some interesting dishes available. We ordered the chicken Katsu curry with rice £13.49, and a prawn linguine £13.99. We also ordered two drinks with our meals. When the food was served it was well presented and was rather tasty, we cleared our plates. After dinner we moved to the bar where we settled down and had a few drinks. A pint of Fosters £5.35 and a pint of Sharps Pale Ale £5.75, which was not overly pricy for an Airport Hotel. Guests were also able to eat and drink outdoors in the Hotel's courtyard, there was an external, temporary bar. The staff we encountered on the bar and restaurant were friendly, polite and efficient. So all in all not a bad way to spend an evening before an early morning flight.

We really enjoyed our last visit in the summer. However, this visit was different. I had the chicken breast, which while edible and cooked ,the temperature could best be described as tepid. I had the sticky toffee pudding which is obviously a hot pudding. However, my one got sent back as it was STONE COLD. Another server got me a new one and it was tasty It was also a problem to get the bill and pay. A very disappointing visit and will think twice about eating here again.

We stayed at the Premier Inn and opted to dine at the in-house restaurant, as we’ve done before. We booked on arrival, as we know it gets extremely busy. The menu isn’t extensive and the restaurant is attached to the bar area, which is always manic. We were seated in a corner, adjacent to the bar. It was so busy and rather loud. Our waitress was very pleasant, when taking our order. However, that was the last we saw of her. A very short while after placing our order, a male member of staff, came in to the area where we were seated, bellowing our surname at the top of his voice, whilst carrying our meals. It was most disconcerting and we did not appreciate all and sundry knowing our name. Surely we had a table number? We started to eat, not having received our drinks. The same man appeared again, still bellowing, Peroni and a wine. It wasn’t just us, who were subjected to this poor customer service, as other members of staff were bringing food in and shouting out diners names. Very unprofessional. Been in more civilised work canteens.

I had a chicken curry with a blood orange cider. My husband had a pie. The food was very good. There is quite an extensive menu. The restaurant is very large but there was still a queue for the bar and to get in to the restaurant for those who had not booked. Very busy, friendly staff. Normally the food here is passable but at the moment they may as well be closed. There’s a very limited menu that meant one of our children got no dinner and the other didn’t want to eat what he was delivered. Staff aren’t wearing masks and barely socially distanced. The food was a small, mediocre microwave meal - limited to a chilli, Bologna’s really or curry that was in parts super heated and destroyed, and elsewhere uncooked. Despite the government eat out scheme we paid £17 and felt that was too much. We completely understand that these are challenging times but there was no excuse for the food or staff failing to wear masks.

Business travel, evening meal.First the positives the staff and although clearly very stretched and busy they were all pleasant and helpful.Lamb koftas to start with, the lamb was pretty poor (not that different from a takeaway of lesser quality) with gristle and dripping with oil. A couple of olives and tiny slivers of bread. An inauspicious start.Steak and Doom bar (ale) pie to follow, a beer I like. Sigh, meat tough and chewy, gravy and pie filling underseasoned. Chips were ok though so I ate them and half the pie before giving up in despair.Went for a glass of Rioja with the food, it was sour and lacking in flavour. I would guess a £5 bottle at trade being sold at nearly 5 times more than that. Drank about a third of a glass and left it.I think the waiter could tell I wasn’t happy and fair play to him he got the manager over who was equally nice about things. They offered to replace the items but I opted to pay for the food and asked for the wine off the bill which they did without question.I don’t like to complain and I do have to commend them for their positive response. I also have to point out that lots of other people seemed happy enough with their meals so I might be being fussy.

To call it terrible is an understatement, undercooked insipid kids meal sent back, very very small portions and a cold 'hot' chocolate fondant dessert, it didn't see an oven let alone a micro wave! I honestly thought we'd all be up in the night with bad bellies! Thankful not Breakfast average a 30 min wait for a simple portion of porridge and barely any staff. Costa out of action (we had been warned) all in all a true disappointment to end our lovely holiday feels like Whitbread are feeling the pinch here and scrimping and employing folk with zero skills in cooking a thing!

We often eat here before flying as there is little choice before security at North Terminal. Usually find the food average and the staff pleasant but this time it was a different experience. The staff were ill-informed and unhelpful. All we wanted to do was swap the side of peas that came with the pie for any other side or a small amount of salad as one of our party can't eat peas. The staff members had a meeting, then called the manager over, who then went to speak to the chef, who then decided we could either have a mushroom (these were getting a hard sell from staff as they had a lot to get rid of due to phasing out all their mushroom dishes from the menu!) or ONE slice of tomato instead of the peas! All rather embarrassing! We eventually got our pies which were completely over-cooked with inedible, rock-hard, black pastry and dried up innards. The chips were limp and the peas came in a tiny dish the size of a ten pence piece. The burger was nothing like the picture being advertised and was lacking flavour. The coleslaw on the side was literally a teaspoon sized amount and the burgers were tiny and dried up.

We have stayed at the Premier Inn Gatwock for years as it has always offered a fantastic value for money start to our holidays. We always eat at the hotel restaurant as, although not Michelin star it has always offered excellent value for money and tasty, well portioned meals. So. .... what has happened? Tonight we (3) ordered the Haddock,Chips and Mushy Peas ( with complimentary bread and 'butter'). When the food arrived I was so shocked as I had previously eaten this meal several times at this hotel. The reason I ass shocked is that the food that we were given was more like a child portion. I counted my skinny, frozen chips and there were exactly 21. The haddock resembled a mackerel fillet in size . When I complained to the supervisor I was told there is nothing they can do about the fish (how about buy bigger bits?!) But she could do some more chips! This is the last time we eat at this restaurant and therefore the last time we stay here. A shame, it used to be so good but as with many other businesses they have decided to cut costs and squeeze the customer. Had two dinners there and they were as different as night and day. First of all the place is extremely busy with many diners. Quantity often affects quality and on the first visit that was the case. The service was OK considering the volume of people to be served. I had the surf and turf and the steak was over cooked and 25% inedible due to gristle and fat. The flavor was ok but not enough to rescue the meal. On our second visit I was somewhat dreading it but what a difference. It was just as busy but the waitress was superb and she made all the difference. The speciality that night was Mediterranean and I ordered the skewer platter. It was excellent. Ate here the evening before we flew out on our early morning flight. Got a table Sunday early evening no problem. Food is ok, thought this the first time we ate here last year! Waiter was very good but think I’d try the bar food instead next time!

Eat an evening meal and breakfast at the restaurant prior to a flight. A busy bustling atmosphere with efficient attentive staff. A comprehensive chain style menu but the food was tasty and well prepared. Good value.

Our sixth visit this year and never had a bad meal EVER. This one was not good. We waited a half hour for our starter which was OK but no sooner had we finished than they brought out the mains which had obviously been standing for a long time as my partner's salmon had completely dried out and mine wasn't much better. We think that they had completely forgotten the starter and remembered it just as they were going to serve the main. We were asked if our meal was good and gave an honest reply expecting nothing. As a token the ice cream was taken off the bill as this was the cheapest item. We will be back soon and hope that their problems have been resolved as this was always a wonderful start to our holiday.

The Thyme restaurant is on the ground floor of the Premier Inn A43 and is very busy. It offers a very reasonable selection of foods for omnivores, carnivores and vegetarians. It’s often so busy that you need to grab a drink from the bar and wait with a pager until a table is available. The service staff are very adept at rapid turnarounds of tables and the wait seems to usually be accomplished within one drink! The food was surprisingly good, wholesome, filling and tasty for about £12 a head for a main alone, obviously dependent on what you choose. A surprisingly good pitstop in this very busy location.

I ate here the night before a flight. The restaurant was very busy and I had to book and return an hour later, so is well worth booking a table in advance to avoid a wait. I was shown to a table, provided with a menu, and shortly afterwards ordered my drinks and a meal. I intended to have a main and a dessert, but the main was so nice and filling that I didn't need a dessert. The ambience was relaxing, the staff were pleasant and the food was very good.

My wife and I ate here before our flight using the meal deal which is excellent value for money. We were shown to our table by a lovely waitress and our order was taken very promptly. The food was delicious and piping hot and the drinks were ice cold.

When choosing the consistency of a Premier Inn, we nowadays prefer to select one that has a Thyme restaurant, due to the quality and level of choice in the menu. The Thyme Restaurant at the Premier Inn, Gatwick North, has excellent attentive staff and great food too.

The restaurant staff were super attentive, only having to look in their direction to get another drink. The menu is plentiful and reasonably priced. Even though it was extremely busy the food was served quickly and was good quality and of a decent portion size. Both our meals were served hot and once finished the plates were cleared away swiftly. we did not have pudding as the main course was sufficient. would definitely recommend

We have eaten here at least a dozen times and the food and service are always consistently good. During our most recent visit the place was packed so do call ahead to reserve a table as the waits can be long. We had a sharing platter to start and then the lamb burger each, a beer each and a bottle of prosecco. The bill came to under £65. We always use the Premier Inn at Gatwick North and this is one of the reasons why!

Booked the meal deal and enjoyed evening dinner and breakfast which were both very good. Service was very quick and good. They were doing an Indian special meal which to be honest was very good. Breakfast was even better with very tasty sausages and bacon and good costa coffee. Staff very attentive and totally in control .

We have used this restaurant several time and always been welcomed warmly. The food is very wide ranging and should suit all tastes. The price is in the medium range and is good value for money. However it is the meal daedl that offers the best value as it includes breakfast as well. You will not go hungry here!

Blakely was brilliant. Great service and food was superb. There were some drunk and rowdy guests sat on a table close which was no problem but the manager was more than apologetic making sure that it didn’t spoil our night. By far the best service we’ve ever received in a restaurant.

Each time we stay at Premier Inn at Gatwick's North Terminal, we have dinner in-house at Thyme Restaurant as it is far more convenient than going elsewhere or suffering the limited, bad-valued terminal food. This time we booked out dinner slot as soon as we checked-in. for 5pm. From experience, if you simply show up you can expect to be accommodated in the restaurant after 9pm as they are always crazy busy. We had a meal deal. We hadn't realised that kids eat free breakfast so it's better to just pay the menu price for kids' food. Our extras with drinks totaled another £30 but that was okay. The meal deal is something to seriously consider as £30 per person for a dinner may not be worth it if you don't ordinarily order 2 courses. We don't usually have an appetiser so it turned out to be not good value for us as our mainstay is usually a fish n' chips. The food was fine. But what stood out to us was the service. Mandalin, our server, was on-point and provided exceptional, attentive service! Thanks to him, our meal went from okay to amazing!

The BEST takeaway in Crawley. For years, I've always been a bit of a food snob and would never eat from burgers vans until I went for the first time on Monday. I had the best bacon sandwich with hashbrown I've ever eaten in my life. It was so good that I've eaten 3 sandwiches in the past 48 hours. Really can not fault it! Also, my friend always orders the chicken burger and says its one of her favourites in Crawley.

Had an excellent experience at the Coaching Halt today. Went with a friend who has allergies. We were looked after by Laila and she could not have been more friendly and helpful, particularly re the allergies. Additionally, Nicole also looked after us and, again, was particularly helpful re my friend’s allergies. Food was good, the restaurant is comfortable and welcoming and the staff are brilliant. Thank you Laila and Nicole.

We were booked into the Hilton the night before our flight and decided to try the Garden Restaurant. Our food was excellent, every dish was enjoyable and well prepared. There is a good choice for both meat eaters and vegetarian such as myself. I really enjoyed the goats cheese and asparagus starter and the beetroot Wellington certainly did not disappoint. The highlight though was the above excellent service from Raji. He is a credit to the restaurant. He was attentive and explained every dish we asked about. He was helpful and went above and beyond to offer helpful advice and provide a great experience. I would have no doubts in eating here again. Thank you.
