We checked into our rooms then came here for our pre booked table. No complaints at all. Straight forward simple meals with no fuss at what I consider to be a reasonable price for four adults. Staff were pleasant and efficient. Don’t expect gourmet, this is more your Witherspoon dining experience. A round of drinks at the bar afterwards and we were ready for an early night. A very comfortable stay

Really average food. Missing cheese from a burger which was ridiculously dry already. No offer of condiments etc and only spoke to me when they wanted a tip. Nowhere else to eat if staying at the hotel and probably don't get much repeat business but how hard is it to cook a burger. Tesco up the road and deliveroo seem to be local so save your money and get a takeaway.

Dinner: There was hazard sign up at the main entrance so kept walking towards the bar, no one greeted me so just found a table. Server finally approached me and asked if I had a reservation. He stated I needed a reservation - what hotel restaurant requires a guest to make a reservation to eat - plenty of open tables. No signage stating I needed to make a reservation, or "wait to be seated". Not being able to bill to your room was another 'odd' experience. The menu does have many options, and a variety plate of appetizers if you are looking for some variety and small bites. The menu has many large meal options as well. Food quality was very good on variety appi platter, lovely hint of mint in the lamb kebab's (exception: would recommend cooking the onion rings more as it was doughy) Breakfast: There are many options on the 'hot' side of the buffet. They will make a fresh egg for you (poached etc) which is a really lovely option to have. The 'medium' poached egg was cooked perfectly! Please install hand sanitizer stations and have signage so guests can all clean hands prior to touching the serving spoons - Coronavirus and other virus are shared with all the hands touching these surfaces, and buffets in public spaces really need to make some simple additions. You could always use them after getting your food so that you have clean hands to eat with.

We are here twice over the weekend. Friday was good...great waitress, quick service but this was severely marred by what happened on Saturday... We had an issue with the restaurant on sat evening. We had booked for 8pm (table had been booked before 6am) Service was awful. Five of us dining and every meal had something wrong. Waitress was rude, clearing plates without saying a word. We were never offered drinks - we all had empty glasses before starters. We spoke to management at the end who “cleared the bill” which wasn’t helpful as my husband and I had bought meal deals. So our companions didn’t pay, but we did. Sons steak ordered rare, came out well done. Sent back and it came out medium - it took fifteen minutes for them to bring it back, so the poor lad sucked it up and ate it as he was starving. Vegetarian (and stated when ordering) orders Greek salad and it came out with Kofta. Father in law ordered Blue Cheese burger with extra patty...no extra patty and no blue cheese??? My steak was not blue, but M/R. No rocket on plate. Issues with cheese and rocket not rectified. Husband had mixed grill, and compared to the other Thyme restaurant at Utoxotter was tiny. Definitely not worth £18. It came on a narrow plate the same as our starter. It took over 20 mins to clear starters, she grabbed plates without a word and not a minute later, plates of mains arrived that had clearly been sitting under the lights for ages. Queried this with young waiter and his reply was “I don’t know, I’m only running food”. It was busy, but not horrendous. Yes they looked short staffed but that’s no reason for rudeness. Manager was apologetic and listened, she did clear the bill, was a bit miffed that we were not refunded however. I’m not one to moan usually, I worked in the food industry for several years, both between kitchen and front of house, but I had to leave this. The hotel was great - quiet and a good base, but the restaurant let it down. I’m going to leave some good points: Oyster Mushroom starter was very nice. Very different. Breakfast was standard premier in brekky, but fresh. Lovely bacon. Really good wine list. On our first night the half chicken with hot sauce was tasty.

Thyme in Premier Inn Gatwick Manor Royal was surprisingly good. The self serve full English breakfast was excellent, with all the espresso one could handle. Items were piping hot. Dinner was good too, albeit the menu looks like some pub grub. For fish, they are forthcoming as to which ones were fresh market choice of day, or which were previously frozen. It’s neither fine ding nor for foodies, but it goes down very well.

How difficult is it to cook steak? I asked for a medium ribeye steak and it came out well done, so I sent it back. The second steak came out medium but the quality of the steak was really cheap. You can get a better quality steak from LIDL’s! The prawn and lobster sauce was a yellow gunge that tasted of nothing, well apart from cornflour maybe. The sweet potato fries were mainly burnt too. The best things on my plate were the half a tomato and the rocket leaves.Do yourself a favour and go into town to Turtle Bay or go to the Parson’s Pig in Tinsley Green if you like a good curry. I know that Premier Inn can do better as I’ve stayed at several in the past. Oh, one more thing....It wasn’t as if they were busy as I was the 1st customer at 6 O’ clock!

Had dinner here as we were staying overnight before flying out on holiday. We entered the restaurant about 15 minutes after it opened and as we were seated we were informed that Connor would be our server. We waited and waited and waited. In fact we waited a good 10 to 15 minutes before our server appeared. During the wait we did have plenty of time to look over the menu. When Connor did appear things sped up big time. We placed our order and had our drinks within 2 minutes of ordering them. The starters arrived promptly and I will admit they were very tasty and well presented. After he cleared the table he returned with the mains. Partner had steak where I had the sea bass en papillote. This was the first time I had ever had this and I will say I will be ordering it again with I can. My partner's steak was just okay. As a dinner option it was ok but some more choices as an potato choice other that chips would be great.

We were staying at the Premier Inn for 1 night before a Gatwick flight and usually choose them as they have attached restaurants to save having to find food! Thyme is a common Premier Inn restaurant and usually a good choice. I had the ribs and chicken combo which was tasty although a bit on the cool side although being hungry I couldn't be bothered to send it back! Between 4 of us we ordered another ribs and chicken combo and 2 salmons which were apparently very nice. We mainly visited Thyme for the ease, I suppose if we had more choice we may choose differently.

I stayed here with a group of 7 people on a business trip and dined here for dinner for 5 nights. The staff were really helpful, friendly and attentive although on one of the nights the restaurant got really busy that they forgot to attend to our table for 25 minutes after seating us for drinks and starters and then very long waits between meals that some of the food was cold. Menu is average but all food was nice to eat. There is a separate bar menu and it was a shame to not see these on the main menu in the restaurant. More options are needed for vegetarians and I feel they are missing the trend of healthier foods like sweet potato fries and avocado dishes to name a few.The pricing of the dishes were budget friendly.

These restaurants all look the same - but they do look nice. If you're staying at a Premier Inn you know that this is usually a safe place to eat your dinner. The waitor this evening took our orders quite fast - but it took ages to get our glasses of wine - and when he finally came with them he had forgotten the water. Not good!We had pizza bread with garlic and cheese for starter. Nice, but could have been a bit more crispy. We apparently didn't eat fast enough - our waitor came to clear the plate several times before we had finished. When we actually were finished we realized why - our mains had obviously been ready for quite a while beeing kept warm (my pasta came with the tomato sauce a bit stale on the top). It tasted good and very spicy though. To me it seemed like they're a bit off on the timing of the food. They can't expect people to speed eat their starters. Just our luck that we had food that didn't spoile beeing kept warm.

First stay at this particular Premier Inn. Decided to have dinner in their Thyme restaurant. These are normally ok but the menu never seems to change and can therefore become a little boring. However they have added a Summer specials menu to the existing choices which comprises of another 18 dishes (starters, mains and puds). The restaurant was very pleasant and the layout gave the impression that it was small and select. rather than a large expanse of tables. We find that the staff are always friendly, helpful and efficient in Premier Inns and the staff in this restaurant were no exception and indeed were especially attentive. In addition, the food was particularly well cooked. In particular I was very impressed with the tempura prawns which had bee fried to perfection in very hot fat and were lovely and crispy and hot. My wife's duck parcels were equally good. Both steaks were cooked exactly as ordered and came with fries, mushrooms, tomato and green beans together with an novel pepper sauce in a little sauceboat. Puddings were equally good. So an excellent meal in pleasant surroundings with attentive, friendly and efficient staff. If that was not enough we were having the meal deal which includes a two course dinner, a drink and a full breakfast the following morning. A third course at dinner (pudding) costs an extra £2. So overall an incredible bargain at less than £25 per person.

Breakfast the next morning was ok but feel it was slightly overpriced. Perhaps if childrens meals were not free and they had to pay a small price they could reduce the cost of the adult meal instead. After all I don't want to be subsidising a childrens meal for someone else. If the restaurant had been warmer I probably would have given this an excellent rating.

I was there in the past and had a conventional-not surprising meal (like a normal pub) and this time I wanted to celebrate an event with my colleague. Let's go with the rump steak, mine was rare as it was suggested by the menu to enjoy better the meat and my colleague preferred it well-done. Very very hard to eat the piece of nerves and I fought with my knife as my colleague did. When staff came to ask how was our meal I did complain and she suggested me to cook more my beef to have it well-done... I contested that the menu says to have it rare to enjoy it more and anyway the well-done meat of my colleague did not invite me to go to this solution. Thanks for the lovely smile of the staff again but next time I have an event to celebrate with my colleague I will only book an hotel room and avoid the lunch. It is a pity because I loved the continental breakfast in the Premier Inn.

Myself and three other people visited the Thyme Restaurant. My wife and I have used this restaurant and another at a premier inn on Gatwick airport and found them to be good and we thought we would give it another try. The starters were good but took a while to arrive. The problems started with the mains. I had pasta with goats cheese, red onion and chicken, the chicken was good but it did not taste of goats cheese and there was no red onions, my friends wife had a chicken curry with rice, but when it arrived it had no chicken and was just a bowl of runny vegetables not curry like at all, when we complained it came back with chicken within two minutes almost inedible she left it and ate the rice. My wife medium steak was cremated and inedible so it was sent back but a new one only arrived 10 minutes after we had all finished. The chips had also been cooked again and were extremely greasy. The beans were also covered in butter and raw. After we had finished and received the bill we found 3 drinks on it that we had not had but on further investigation we found out they were for the table next to us and they had 1 of our drinks on their bill. The one saving grace of this restaurant are the staff who were wonderful about all the problems but the food needs sorting out before we will be returning. We also heard that we was not the only ones who suffered from inadequate food.

Staying in Crawley before our flight out from Gatwick I checked trip advisor for best places to eat. We decided not to go to the restaurant in our hotel as the reviews were not great. Found Thyme was close by and gave it a go. We were not disappointed. Easy to reach and plenty of parking. We were warmly greeted and shown to a table. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and particularly Hilba and Adrienne who served us. When I asked about needing gluten free food Adrienne came to the table with a diet sheet showing all the ingredients for each meal and helped me to choose without putting any pressure on me. Throughout our meal the staff were attentive and very polite. The food was good quality and great value. Would recommend if you are staying over in Crawley before flying.

Very good for a chain restaurant - good menu, specials, deals - easy to get to from highways. We only ate there, but our dinner price included breakfast. Seemed to be a popular hotel as lots of people were heading in with suitcases as we were leaving. We met family from Leatherhead and was a convenient half way point. I would go there again.

I had dinner there only once.. Salmon steak with different kinds of salad and onion rings. The fish was fresh, very well prepared, crunchy from the outside and soft from the inside. With salad, you get various dresings, so you can choose what you like the best.

We were not staying at the attached premier inn prior to our departure from Gatwick, but having seen quite a few good reviews about this restaurant and then being unimpressed with our existing hotels food offering we decided to venture out. What a fabulous surprise ! Normally my experience of a hotel that knows it has a captive audience is that it makes a half-effort to provide a restaurant. NOT in this caseAll our servers were wonderfully polite and just the right level of attentive The food was priced just right and served perfectly. We couldn't believe the 2 courses for £13, this was then topped by the offer on sides. 3 sides for just over £3, at first we thought it was £3 each, not all 3 for £3!! I have to warn you about the pudding thou... 5 versions of chocolate and it could 'almost' be said "too much chocolate", I did say 'almost' ! Overall a fantastic meal out - would return, would even consider booking this hotel on my next travel through Gatwick due to the restaurant Well gone to the management and team there who no doubt work very hard to go beyond expectations

Lovely choice of menu, and really lovely food. What made our visits (twice while we stayed at the premier inn) so special was the wonderful service we received from Adrienn (May not have spelt her name right!). She was so lovely and friendly, extremely helpful, and she was a pleasure to talk to.

Excellent staff, attentive and friendly - Jennie(our waitress on the first visit) even remembered us on our return visit and enquired about our holiday, having remembered where we had been heading to. The room is divided into many alcoves, giving privacy and intimacy. The food was excellent (we had 2 dinners and a breakfast there). The service was really good and the visit became a part of a really enjoyable holiday.

We had the most wonderful 3 course dinner during our stay at the Hotel. The service was second to none and a very helpful and friendly waitress in Jenny. Excellent value for money on the meal deal, but would have eaten here anyway and not expensive and varied menu.

Stayed at the Premier Inn Gatwick Manor Royal for fifteen days, had to take a course related to my Job. If you are a crewmember, This is what you are looking for, somewhere confortable, clean and near the trainig facilities. The Thyme restaurant at the Premier Inn was the highligt of the whole experience. Affordable and nice food with a extremely helpful, polite and friendly staff which made our "early mornings" a little bit more pleasant, especially Gabriela and Ronnie.

I'm back here for another 3 weeks after nearly a year away. I'd say, overall that the service has improved from my last visit - and it was good to start with back then!I was disappointed that the special menu has gone - it was nice to have variety off the standard menu, but the new menu is really good and I'm working my way through it night by night. The presentation, although it doesn't affect the taste, is really good - the fish & chips was a great example. So, the food's excellent - what about the staff?Service with a smile, very friendly and nothing too much trouble. I can only comment for the people who have served me so, and in no particular order: Adrienn; Josef; Jenny and Katie have all been wonderful - pleasant and attentive, offering alternatives or more courses but without seeming pushy. All round good service.

Restaurant is good, nice atmosphere, and clean.. Not the fastest in serving, but personel kindness and hospitality overtake any inconvenience. Food is good, and there is variety. I said all the personel are very kind, and about the high average, I have to talk about Ronnie. Always smiling, very kind

Each time we stay at Premier Inn at Gatwick's North Terminal, we have dinner in-house at Thyme Restaurant as it is far more convenient than going elsewhere or suffering the limited, bad-valued terminal food. This time we booked out dinner slot as soon as we checked-in. for 5pm. From experience, if you simply show up you can expect to be accommodated in the restaurant after 9pm as they are always crazy busy. We had a meal deal. We hadn't realised that kids eat free breakfast so it's better to just pay the menu price for kids' food. Our extras with drinks totaled another £30 but that was okay. The meal deal is something to seriously consider as £30 per person for a dinner may not be worth it if you don't ordinarily order 2 courses. We don't usually have an appetiser so it turned out to be not good value for us as our mainstay is usually a fish n' chips. The food was fine. But what stood out to us was the service. Mandalin, our server, was on-point and provided exceptional, attentive service! Thanks to him, our meal went from okay to amazing!

The BEST takeaway in Crawley. For years, I've always been a bit of a food snob and would never eat from burgers vans until I went for the first time on Monday. I had the best bacon sandwich with hashbrown I've ever eaten in my life. It was so good that I've eaten 3 sandwiches in the past 48 hours. Really can not fault it! Also, my friend always orders the chicken burger and says its one of her favourites in Crawley.

Had an excellent experience at the Coaching Halt today. Went with a friend who has allergies. We were looked after by Laila and she could not have been more friendly and helpful, particularly re the allergies. Additionally, Nicole also looked after us and, again, was particularly helpful re my friend’s allergies. Food was good, the restaurant is comfortable and welcoming and the staff are brilliant. Thank you Laila and Nicole.

Use the Heathy for lunch regularly with friends. However this time the food was overpriced for what it was. The steak was fatty and as a result they took it iff the bill. Only people in the place so no atmosphere. Staff was friendly and attentive. Also i drink soda water which is usually no charge. This time however i was charged £2.50 for a soda water and lime. Unfortunately will not be going as regularly in the future
