Thyme Restaurant in Coventry

By hotel restaurant standards Thyme is OK. A simple menu, which is not over-priced, there are always new dishes to try. Easier sometimes to eat in than venture into the city.

The advertised deal for hotel guest was a 2 course dinner, a drink and full English breakfast for £23.99, but when we said we did not want breakfast we were told we could have the deal without breakfast for £15, which we took and it was very tasty, my steak was cooked perfectly, and my wife said she enjoyed her meal as well.

Staying at Premier Inn Coventry just for one night. Booked the meal deal not expecting much if at all honest. Pleasantly surprised by the helpful staff and the unusual and well cooked food. A starter of black pudding and apple was delicious. The two hour happy hour with two drinks for the price of one was also an unexpected bonus. A very pleasant relaxed evening.

We stayed on 29th December for one night at the adjoining Premier Inn. Entered restaurant just as it was opening at 6pm and we were greeted by very pleasant & attentive staff. Our order was promptly taken and we opted for the meal deal which was £23.99 for 2 courses, drink plus full breakfast following day. Youngest had children's meal, plus drink & dessert for £5. Meal was so lovely (wasn't expecting something so tasty!!) and service was very good. We left that evening full and very happy. Following morning we came down for breakfast and again greeted by lovely staff. Fantastic breakfast, cooked really well with lots of continental options available too. We've stayed as a family in quite a few premier inns and ate in adjoining restaurants but this has certainly been our best yet. Well done to staff for such attentive service.

Stayed in the premier inn attached to thyme restaurant and ate there 4 nights. Every night the food tasted amazing and the staff were ridiculously nice. I knew what kind of food to expect as it's owned by whitbread but the quality was better than I expected. I had chicken and rib combo (tasty and filling), chicken makhani curry (delicious), house burger ( nice meaty burger with rarebit sauce and mushrooms which complimented the meat perfectly), tempura prawn starter (nice) and my favourite part was the aromatic duck parcels for a starter (they were amazing and cooked very well) also had the toffee waffles for dessert one night and that was nice (little too much chocolate sauce for my liking tho) the staff were very attentive and friendly the whole time making the experience much better. All in all very happy.

Had a couple of evening meals and breakfast at this Thyme restaurant. Quick, polite service with a smile. Food was the usual standard. All ok but nothing exceptional. I do wish Whitbread would change the menus more frequently. I stay away a lot, always in Purple Palaces yet the menu's are much the same no matter what brand (Beefeater, Thyme, Table Table etc) Could do with a shake up t.b.h. Anyway, this Thyme Restaurant was ok. Would use again.

Stayed at the premier Inn on business so use the restaurant. It took 20min before our order was taken. When the main came it was very good, but took another 40min before the pudding turned up but had to send it back as the hot bread & butter pudding was still cold in the middle. So will not be using the restaurant again

We had booked a night at the theatre but not somewhere to eat, and as it was Valentine's Day, our options were limited, but we found the restaurant in the Premier Inn had tables so we went there. I've got to admit I was expecting a 'boil-in-the-bag' style meal, but I was impressed that it looked like it was cooked fresh to order. None of us could find fault in the meal, and was all reasonably priced. Would recommend this restaurant to others, whether they be staying guests, theatre goers, or those just looking for a meal. Date of meal: 14th February (approx. 6pm)
