A bright and beautiful morning so we decided to have a drive in the countryside and end up at Margot’s café. This was our second visit and we were recognised and welcomed straight away. Decided to have breakfast as it was early.. which did us proud. On display also was a selection of very tempting cakes .. understandably, they weren’t hanging around for long!! A lot of work is obviously put in to make Thyme after Time such a popular place. It is spotlessly clean and friendly and above all.. plenty of free and easy parking (a bonus). It is on our list of favourite places to go ., so Thankyou and see you again soon.

Thyme after Time has moved recently and my wife and I have been a few times by ourselves, and with our kids. The food remains excellent with an interesting selection and always using high quality ingredients. They have the best chips in the world, try the new "smutty chips" for a novel twist! The only problem is that I eat so much when I go for lunch that I can never manage a full dinner in the evening!

Excellent food and service, great portion sizes and lots of sweet treats. A welcoming atmosphere and such nice kind people, will do anything for you. You have a choice to sit outside or in, tables outside, so if you want to choose to sit outside in the sun, or even if it’s chilly you can stop for a cuppa and a sweet treat. The staff are wonderful, happy and helpful, and cater to what you like, just ask and they are very accommodating. Inside its a well spaced layout, clean and tidy with a friendly light atmosphere, you can see the dedication that has been put into all the food and care for the facilities. There is lots of sun shining in and lots of home made condiments including marmalades, sauces, and cakes that are made on site. The loo is clean and lots of room for wheelchair access and easy parking available. Thyme After Thyme are like a family and you’re welcomed in as one of their own, whether you’re visiting once on holiday or a regular visitor and if you try the Full English or the Scrambled Eggs, you’ll definitely be back!! You can also choose to have vegetarian or gluten free options, a breakfast for your faithful companion dogs and you can take away as well as eat in. It’s a great option for the trail way to, after a long walk, you can pop in for a nice coffee/latte or whatever you are choosing to drink and rest those aching legs, all are accommodated for. Thyme After Thyme are a real treat and we’ll definitely be back. Thank you all.

Awful. In the middle of nowhere on a trading estate next to a Kebab shop and overlooking a factory. If you want to eat outside you eat in the car park! Ordered breakfast, got 1 piece of sliced toast, clearly not homemade and an over done poached egg for 2. Think they tried to dress it up with some seeds or something that were sprinkled on the plate. Pointless.. And 2 coffees. £24!!!! Terrible decor with grey carpets. Not somewhere I would ever go again.

This is such a gem. Have been here a couple of times for lunch and breakfast and it never disappoints. There is a great menu and the food is excellent. I love this place as it’s different and a one off . Looking forward to trying the themed evenings next year.

Having been here for breakfast a few times we decided to try their lunches. Awesome! The staff, as always, were brilliant. The food was lovely. I had one of the specials chill nachos with cheese, salsa and tacos. It was lightly spiced so not overwhelming. The portion was very generous. The tea was lovely, proper leaf tea and the pot for one made 3 large cups! I can’t recommend it highly enough

This cafe is my favourite one,and the place I have to visit when I visit family. I have been here a good many times, have had scones sent by post to my home, aswell as collecting an order still warm from oven when I was heading home from visiting Margot has been open on this site about 8 years,I've been coming 7+. I have yet to have a bad part of any meal, and just know every Thyme that the quality is constant. Margot took on a young apprentice Eve some years ago,and Eve is now the Head Chef.... The whole TaT team are brilliant. The way the food, drink, are served is a thoughtful and artistic way. Tea is in glass pot,and little milk bottles for the milk. It's a lovely friendly place. The food,as I said,is really good, quality produce from local area...I think the eggs come from the farm next to cafe...milk is very near,so not cheap items from mass suppliers. I had the Spire Hill Grill, and was surprised that the price was the same as my last visit at Christmas 22.... The cost of living has gone up,and some things have had an increase, but in That you get outstanding quality at a fair price. They do home made cakes...and as with all things offered, are delicious. I enjoy the banter whenever I come down. Thank you Margot and Eve and all the Thymers.

When we raised to issues on the first the owner immediately appologised, offered us a recompense visit and could not have been more contrite. The second was back up to their original standard and was outstandoing. The bakewell tart flapjack being especially so. Brilliant example of really good custome care and service.

We have been here before and it was simply lovely in all respects, food excellent service superb surroundings delightfully quirky especially with the appearance of Oscar the tortoise. Yesterday’s visit was sadly underwhelming nothing awful but service was lacklustre and breakfast was curates egg very nice in parts maybe my fault for going for the veggie feast but can’t help thinking the baked beans could be much improved although I love small producer products these ones lack both flavour and are pretty hard in texture, the veggie black pudding also not particularly tasty. Having said this please be aware it may have been an off day but when you are really good which is what this place was on other occasions falling short is obviously easier too. It is a great place and we will go back as I am sure our latest visit was not the norm. Ps the cream tea looked amazing!

We have a 'tradition' of having afternoon tea on our anniversary, but this has become more difficult in recent years as my husband has discovered that he is lactose intolerant and we were already vegetarians, so now we are pretty much vegans. We couldn't fault this vegan afternoon tea. Original (even a little quirky!), beautifully made and utterly delicious. Made even mor special with a bottle of 'Dorsecco' or kieved cider. Friendly and attentive staff and a lovely atmosphere. We couldn't eat everything so everything in the generous spread so everything remaining was boxed up for us to take home. We will most definitely be back and highly recommend you seek this place out.

Such a fantastic local cafe. I come here when I am rather hungover and am in need of a good pick me up. I usually take away for obvious reasons. This little cafe caters to my needs every single time. Fantastic bacon & egg butty and even better hot chocolates. My boyfriend once told me this place was overrated. It's safe to say he is no longer my boyfriend anymore with daftly opinions like that. 10/10 would bacon butty again.

I LOVE THIS CAFE!!!! I have written reviews for Thyme after time before, and with the restrictions lifted i was able to see my family who live near the cafe. I live in Essex....so 150 miles away Margot (Granny) had been warned i was coming,i like to give her grief. Eve (Queen) was in kitchen with granny and the place was very busy, they had a outside catering job (260 heads) and were doing the food to serve. Saying that....the service was as fast and efficient as it ALWAYS has been. With all the pandemic chucked at them, they changed and adapted to keep the business going, and now thankfully they are getting bookings again for outside jobs and evenings, aswell as normal opening thymes. As they were soooo busy Granny was not able to come out for a catch up....or smack me around head for doing my best to wind her up....lol My sister, brother in law and i ordered from menu and food was cooked as nicely as it has always been. Quality local produce, and supporting other local companies in area. I really LOVE my visits to this amazing little place.......and so glad they got over the hard times covid gave to catering. If you are in the area,do not think shall we go in....DO IT.....It is worth it every Thyme.

Drove out to Spire Hill Farm, approx 2 miles out of Stalbridge towards Sturminster Newton. Booked in advance for afternoon tea to avoid disapointment. Covid procedures in place with screens between each table, staff wearing masks and sanitiser at the door.Had an amazing afternoon tea today with some lovely additional touches of fresh strawberries, raspberries and blackcurrents on the plate surrounding the cream tea. A three tiered stand arrived with sandwiches on the top level, cream tea in the middle with homemade scones and luxurious mini cakes on the bottom tier. It was highly indulgent and tasted fabulous a real treat for my friend and I. The tea tasted lovely too, good strong flavour and the pot was large and replenished as required.Staff were charming and attentive. I LOVE THIS CAFE.I can't say how many Thymes i have been here,as i live around 150 miles away, but it is a MUST go to on my trips.I have never had a poor expierance here,LOVE every little thing they do....and the way they do things, present things. It is to the great credit that Margot and Steve, along with the staff they have working WITH them.I have had many Scones from them,Qeen and Queen (grand) Mother make them for me,posted or collecting in person.Today we went for Brunch/Lunch....Three of us.My sister and Brother in law live near so can go in more than me.As i came in both the Queen and Queen (grand) Mother saw me,and said hello,so little interaction.....banter.We had a nice table beside the woodburner.....Menu's and the task to choose what delight's to order.Order was taken and the Queen of Scones (Eve) was cooking as Margot was doing another task for a funtion i guess.I had the Grill, the other two had Macaroni cheese, and Ham Egg and Chips. All the meals were presented in the most intresting, stylish manner.Even the Tea i had ordered comes in a nice way....I really can not praise this Cafe enough...…I spent 28 years in Catering many years ago,so i think i am hard to really please, but each and every Thyme i go........They manage to do so.The waitress that took the order had never met me,but knew of me.....Queen and Queen Mother comments are long standing banter.I am trying to loose weight, otherwise i would have viewed and taken away some (or all) of the cakes (home made) and OR Scones.Thyme after Time is a wonderful place to visit, and they aim to give a warm friendly service each Thyme. They do special events,in Cafe or outside events.....They use local produce.THEY CARE

SOME of the best things in life are completely unexpected and our visit to this delicious place was pure luck. We’d driven all the way up to Stalbridge from the coast and had planned a lunch in the village when someone suggested we might like to motor out a few miles into the countryside and try a relatively new cafe on a farm which we were told served wonderful food which was locally sourced. So off we went and we actually drove past the stone post entrance with a “Cafe” signpost before we realised we’d arrived and so had to turn round and come back before swinging inside to a car parking area.It was then a short walk to the cafe past buildings which may have had farm origins but which were now home to enterprises for everything from garden machinery to a sign maker and a florist. The cafe itself, which also has outside seating, was next to an outlet offering tasty meals and delicious cakes to take home.Inside Thyme After Time we soon got an idea of just what people had meant when they said the cafe had a varied and interesting menu. There was everything you could wish for from breakfasts to full scale lunches including chilli, ham, salmon, steaks, soup, beefburgers and an entire salad bar.The surroundings were delightfully quaint with decent cutlery, wooden pepper and salt mills, revolving displays of mouth-watering deserts and a reasonable initial seating area which opened out into a capacious rear room. This had a lot more seating and was a treasure trove of crafts from giant wooden clocks to birthday cards. But we were here for food and it didn’t take us long to opt for kettle cooked ham, egg and chips and a brunch which was the best I have ever had anywhere in my life.It was an absolute treat with tasty bacon and sausage, fresh fried eggs, three portions of black pudding, mushrooms, home-made bubble and squeak, toast and – highly unusually – home made baked beans not a commercial offering from a tin.The result was a tasty feast fit for a king and the portion size was so big it would have finished me off....but for the fact I had seen the desert board! On it was a weakness of mine, Belgian dark chocolate mousse, but this one was served with fresh raspberries and raspberry jam. The result was heaven. If you add to that we had one of the specialist teas on offer and a large coffee then you can appreciate our surprise when the entire bill barely came to £27, tremendous value not least because of the locally sourced products. It was a bright sunny lunchtime and I took the opportunity to stroll down to toilets at the end of the block which proved clean, spacious, well kept and well equipped including baby changing facilities and easily enough space for disabled access. On top of that, there was a toy dinosaur in a bird cage. Now you don’t see that too often! The courtyard contained other businesses and I saw cafe customers exploring other sites, so Thyme After Time both benefits from visitors and helps other rural businesses benefit as well and probably vice versa. All in all, we cannot recommend this cafe too highly. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the food was beautifully cooked and very tasty and the entire atmosphere of the place, particularly the wooden clocks, all added to its charm.Don’t miss a chance to eat here if you are in the area.

Located at Spire Hill a couple of miles outside Stalbridge heading towards Sturminster Newton. Fancied popping in to see what my friends were talking about. We arrived lunchtime on Saturday to be handed a small menu on a clipboard only it was only breakfast choice, this came as a surprise. Nothing really wowed me so had a bacon butty (smoked bacon - not my taste discovered once I had starting eating it)? Could you state that you use smoked bacon on your menu so that people know in advance and can avoid it if the wish and not waste their money? One of the best cups of tea I have had in a long time. Loving the loose tea and the large pot - great flavour. On a Saturday they close earlier and it is breakfast menu only - be warned.I will need to return on another day to try the full works.

First visit with my 13 and 18 year old daughters. Have heard so many great things about this place and at last got to visit. From walking through the door felt instantly at home. Warm and lovely staff. Gluten free menu for 13 year old no trouble. Food fantastic. Highly recommend this lovely place. This will be the start of many visits. P.S. My daughter wants your puppy who was very well behaved in fact asleep the whole time we where there. Thankyou for having us.

This is our go to place when the kids want a milkshake or we want an excellent breakfast. Always a warm welcome, it feels like you are stepping in to a friends kitchen rather than a cafe. Food is high quality, none of your frozen mechanical meat rubbish here. The children are welcomed rather than tolerated and the arrival of the beautiful new pup means we have to visit more often now (and stay for longer). Breakfast cooked to order and our little girl always gets her dippy egg and toast soldiers first along with her mini milkshake! As for the staff??? Friendly, happy and always have time for a chat. Would recommend this beautiful cafe to anyone.

I have been visiting Thyme after Time for several months now and find that when the meals are on song they are excellent. However this is not always the case and I have had several below standard meals. Food served on cold plates, meals tepid in temperature, eggs fried to death and poached eggs served with whites spread over the plate. The latest negative is the addition of a puppy to the establishment, who's yapping is very off putting to the peaceful surroundings. The additional downside is the waiter and kitchen girl picking it up and hugging to there work uniforms while they take it for a 'walk' and then returning to serving and preparing food.

We were recommended to go here by our relatives who live nearby, and we were glad they sent us! Really nice people, excellent food, and jolly good coffee too. My husband had the gluten-free full breakfast, which definitely filled him up, and I had the salmon and avocado with poached eggs, which was delicious. This is set in a really nice spot with seating both indoors and outside, and I would definitely recommend it. I also noticed they do cream teas, so that would be nice for an afternoon stop if we had been staying longer.

Not sure I need to say too much but great food, great people and very good coffee and that is really all you need to know. However just to give a flavor, I had the full breakfast and my wife had the beni, they were both fantastic. Sad we did not find the cafe earlier as we would have been regulars. We will be back next time we are in the UK.

Meet up with a friend on a monthly basis and have been going to the same place for years. Having seen very positive reviews we thought we'd drive put and give it a try for a change. Staff all very friendly. We sat outside with tea and cake. Pleasant afternoon. Will probably try it for lunch later in the year when it's cold to be able to see the lovely wood burner.

Have cycled past many times on a Sunday when closed, but a group of eight cycled there on a Saturday for a change. It was got and sunny so we sat outside. Service was good, quality of the cake and coffee was excellent. They even catered for one of us who is lactose intolerant. I will certainly return with my wife to try if we are in the area, and hopefully again with my cycling friends.

Went on a Saturday when they only serve breakfast but what a breakfast! We had it at lunchtime and it kept us going all day. Margot and her team do an amazing job - the menu is varied and innovative. The cakes look fab but we had no space. They even sell their own homemade jams and chutneys in pretty jars. We sat outside in the lovely relaxed courtyard but there's plenty of space inside too

Had a lunch here and it was okay. For the prices I'd prefer a bigger portion. Log burner was lovely to sit next to, however, the variety on the menu is limited. If you live nearby it's perfect but not worth a drive.

Called in for lunch on a cold March day, so it was great to find a roaring log fire and a table free right by it.I was spoiled for choice but my final decision was good food, cooked well and with love. Very friendly staff who were most welcoming, including to small children, and very happy to talk about the food they cook. The siting of this cafe is a bit off putting, situated on what seems to be a small rural industrial complex, but having been reassured by my companion that it was well worth a visit, and they were right, it was.

What a lovely and relaxed place for something delicious to eat. We went for lunch, but I've heard that the breakfast's are great too. There is a good selection to choose from. All delivered hot and tasty. We really loved the fact that is was so relaxed and that our dogs were welcome, and they certainly enjoyed the treats and a rest by the fire. We will certainly return.

Been here a few times now, the food is true home cooked food, but the ordering and table service is pretty slow. I've tried both ordering at the till and at the table but each time there's a delay and only one member of staff making drinks and orders.Great selection of cakes, and homemade bread. Definitely return as essentially its on the doorstep

Popped in for a coffee and scone today on our way to visit the snowdrops at Kingston Lacy. Had read about this cafe in our local weekly newspaper but this was our first visit. Everything here is home baked. Staff are friendly and cheerful - service quick and efficient. Recommend you try the special Hot Chocolate of the Week! Lunch menu looked very appetizing, especially the Dorset Blue Viney, Pear and Walnut toasties. We will definitely be returning.

I visit Thyme After Time at least once a month and I can say hand on heart that they deliver the goods every time (time after time if you will). The breakfasts (Thornhill Brunch - woo hoo!), chips, coffees and chicken and chorizo are my personal favourites, plus the waffles of course. I'd visit more often but I'm tired of the doctor telling me I need to watch my weight. Thanks for everything you do Margot and team from your friend and die-hard supporter Tim.

Lovely lunch, warm log fire and great company. Macaroni Cheese delightful, although the garlic bread might make you unpopular with your nearest and dearest! The seafood platter was really good and great value. We will return.... Often!

As a celiac myself I have never gone hungry or felt awkward at Thyme After Time. The menu is created to be as gluten free as possible. The full English is fantastic and has gluten free sausage and black pudding options. The cake selection is extensive and always includes cakes which celiacs can enjoy. The staff have always been happy to go through the menu with me and make changes wherever possible.

Visited with some work colleagues for breakfast. The food here is excellent, hard to fault. It's not the cheapest place to eat but if you want to splurge a bit and like home cooked style, good quality ingredients, then this is the place. Rustic charm and pleasant, if slightly remote, location. I had the breakfast bap but the avocado, smoked salmon and poached egg on toast looked fantastic.

I met my mum her for lunch not that long ago and the food is always lovely and staff are super friendly!!The space is really nice and feels like your visiting a friends kitchen :) and they have a lovely selection of homemade James & chutneys. My only bugbear is the price as I would love to come more often but sometimes find it hard to justify the cost of certain items on the menu & additional add on costs.. as places similar are a couple of pounds cheaper per dish and are sourced locally all the same.Nevertheless a nice farm shop cafe !

Came here for breakfast and was the best choice we could have made! The breakfast was incredible, in quality and quantity! Beautiful little dining experience with friendly staff. Soon got busy after we arrived, it's a hidden gem in a business Park. Would come back again and again.

We found this little café purely by chance while on holiday, and what an amazing find it was..! Our kids loved the milkshakes which are served in pint bottles, and the cakes are delicious especially the Dorset Apple cake. We enjoyed it so much we went back on our last day for breakfast, which was a delight… most of our group had the home made waffles with bacon and maple syrup, I had smoked Salmon and poached eggs and it was clean plates all round. Really delicious, fresh food and the staff are so friendly, funny and accommodating, we would really recommend a visit.

My partner and I have been meaning to go to Thyme after Time, for some time, but work always gets in the way. However, on Monday we had a couple of hours to spare, so we went for brunch. We had a vanilla milkshake each, which was amazing! It was served in a pint measured milk bottle with a funky straw. The consistency and flavour was perfect. Then out came out "Thornhill Brunch". WOW. The tastiest full English I have ever had, homemade baked beans were divine, the sausage was massive and the eggs were cooked perfectly. Our two dogs even had a sausage each whilst we ate our breakfast, and they wolfed them down. Lovely ladies serving, just a gorgeous little café.

Advised to visit by friends. They were right. Excellent food, service, setting and customer engagement. Called for tea just as they were shutting up but good tea and cakes appeared and they found the time to chat and explain what they did and how they did it. The menus are impressive and they is a good mix of the delicate and the substantial available throughout the day.Everything is home cooked and you can see it being prepared and cooked. What traditional English country food is all about. If you are in the area make a detour to find and enjoy it.

Saw this pub but past it from Blandford Forum direction, and we were hungry. Luckily there was a right hand turning where we could turn around 200yrds away. Good size car park, warm greeting, and extensive menu for a pub lunchtime! I had a delicious beef stroganoff, and hubby had game pie with stilton. All hot, and home made. Such a refreshing change from all the same chain pubs. Portion sizes are generous, interior homely and plenty of space. Lovely big fireplace, prices reasonable, well worth a visit!

It was a lovely little cafe with plenty of seating and the staff was very pleasant and polite, there was a decent menu and selection of cakes on the counter to choose from. We opted for the breakfast which was very disappointing, the only nice thing on there was the bacon as it wasn't overcooked the rest was overcooked and seemed as though it had been sitting under a warmer or hotplate, the fried bread was in parts burnt, and the sausage was rock hard down one side, the hash browns where not great however we did eat it all as we paid for it and we don't like to waste food and because of the amount of money we paid for them I had a large breakfast and my wife had the small and the extra addition of black pudding on both and two drinks cost was under £32.00.
