Thundercats in Glasgow City

Been here before, but not for a few years as I don't visit Glasgow often but was down for a concert. As always the food was fab, we had the mac n cheese with beef and a portion of the garlic and pecorino tater tots on the side - so garlicy and cheesy they were to die for. A special shout out to Callum K who was looking after us and really went the extra mile - from searching the bar for alternative - off menu drinks when the one we wanted was out of stock, to making sure the small changes to our meal were accommodated, nothing was too much bother. Great service can make such a difference to a meal, he's a real credit to the place. Not sure when we will be back in Glasgow but we will defo be booking to come back here.

came here for my friends’ 20th birthday, all was well until we realised we were massively overcharged on the bill (around £80). since there was so many of us, we didn’t notice on the night, having decided to sort money the next day. when we realised there were quite a few extra items on the bill that none of us had ordered, the restaurant was not willing to hear us out and be cooperative in trying to get us our money back.

This is such a great spot! Lovely service and great sized portions. Shoutout to all the lovely staff who were so welcoming , will definitely be back.

Went in for a christmas catch up with a group of friends. The guy who served us was great, he has only just started working here and was very funny with it. He was honest when he made a mistake and made a joke of it. I think his name was Red? Either way he served us perfectly and made our experience enjoyable. The food was incredible and it was dog friendly meaning we would have our dog there. The only slight let down was the spicy marg which wasn't spicy enough and was too sweet for a marg. Would definitely come back though.

We found this place which didn’t appear much from outside, as we were in Glasgow as a couple and had our dog with us and it showed as dog friendly. You go downstairs to get in and the atmosphere when you open the door is amazing! It’s like a disco/funk bar with glitterballs and serves food. It was rammed busy but the lovely server got us a table for an hour and my god it was our best hour the whole trip! The food even though we opted for chicken light bites and fries was so so flavoursome! They do decent wine by the glass and had we booked in advance, would loved to have stayed longer. Really attentive staff and quick service despite its busyness. Totally recommend

Great place and great atmosphere! Food is delicious, with a large menu to choose from. Cocktails are delicious, they also have various £3 drinks to choose from. Service is quick. I also love how during the week they have 40% off cocktails! Would recommend to anyone visiting Glasgow.

I was staying close to Thundercats on Millar street and noticed the interesting American style menu. I was a walk in around 5.30pm. I started with a 40% off with a strawberryDaquiri which was very tasty. I had the Texan steak Chili which was flavourful, with a nice covering of cheese. I had a side order of fried pickles and tater tots which also were excellent. Can highly recommend.

Buena comida americana estilo restaurante. Particularmente impresionado con la selección de tots tator que se ofrecen, Me encanta el ambiente y la decoración - sensación ligeramente grungy, pero música fresca y recuerdos deportivos alrededor del lugar. No muy bien, no volvería. Empezar con lo positivo el servicio fue genial muy amable y atento Éramos seis de nosotros. Pedimos una gama del menú incluyendo 2 pizzas. Ahora le encanta su pizza y esto fue bastante diferente de una pizza normal. Parecía un poco un pudín de Yorkshire que tenía lados y un montón de cobertura. Él lo calificó terrible muy empapado y se comió menos de la mitad. Muy bien, pero no muy bien fue el veredicto del otro comedor de pizza. Mi hamburguesa estaba bien. Un poco seco y bien hecho y la sal y chile chips eran exiguos y suaves. Mi prima disfrutó de su Mac y queso con carne de barbacoa y el bocadillo de cerdo tirado se consideró sabroso, pero el cerdo estaba frío, así que no es genial. Las hamburguesas, etc. no vienen con ningún lado en absoluto, lo que es inusual y hace que lo que parece el precio normal sea bastante caro cuando se suman todos. Really cool place, loved the vibe. Got a buffalo chicken pizza pie and it was delicious. Everyone had a great time. Just don’t over order because the portions are huge!

Such a fab place! Food is amazing, deep pan pizza pies, Mac & cheese, tater tots - all feel good comfort food! Decor is awesome too, retro Americana at its best! Staff are attentive and the service was good considering just how busy it was. Would recommend booking in advance as it’s a very popular place!! An extra nod to the fact that they have sanitary products free of charge in the ladies, nice touch.

Good menu with lots of choices. The food was really nice. Lots of American classics like deep dish pizza and tater tots. Selected cocktails had 40% off, were good for the price. Marked it down one star as service was a little slow at times and the drinks menus on the table was very dirty. They were covered with dried sauce/food. Really liked the food and restaurant decor, will be back!

Found this place by accident when let down at BrewDog..Very welcoming and a great atmosphere… Waiters were very attentive and quick to serve.. Menu is superb and the food was fantastic.. Quite a good drinks menu as well with some nice beers…

Went here for dinner with colleagues. Can’t fault the food which was tasty and the decor and atmosphere excellent. Only thing that let it down was the service. Our waitress was loud, obnoxious and always had something to say. From the tables being too close together to hoping we were paying as one, to you need to shut the door and can’t hold it open for the person next out. You’d think you were at the “Karen” diner. Will be back due to the food.

Excellent food and service! Great lunch special. Staff is extremely friendly. The toilets are spotless and that says a lot about the place. Highly recommend this place.

The place is really nice, great atmosphere. I can only go by my own experience..... Let's start with the food, the portions are large which is good but the overall quality is just average , I had the garlic butter wings which were alright but any part of the wing that didn't have the sauce was very bland an under seasoned, maybe brining them first or using a dry rub may have helped. The pizza was disappointing compared to a proper Chicago deep dish, this was closer to a Chicago town frozen pizza. Also had the mac and cheese with black pudding and chorizo and boy was it salty!, I think it is made as a normal mac and cheese and then the topping added after as opposed to making a big batch of the different types, could be wrong though. Then also had the bacon cheeseburger which was nice, but it wasn't better than a 5 guys but was more expensive. This may have been a mistake but when the bill came there were a lot of mistakes which brought up the price and we had to point out the mistakes and the extra items removed. By far and away the best item was their in house gravy easy 10/10 . Service was good though. I wouldn't go back myself but I could see People enjoying their meals so would recommend to people who love american diner food

My partner and I visited Thundercats in Glasgow on a Thursday afternoon. We didn't pre-book a table and arrived just after midday - we were seated immediately. The restaurant got busy very quickly so it may be worth booking a table to avoid disappointment The waiting staff were friendly and very attentive, although they seemed a bit rushed off their feet. There were two waiting staff for a very busy restaurant From the Express Lunch Menu, I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with garlic and herb tater tots. My partner ordered a pepperoni deep dish pizza from the normal menu. We also ordered a side of lasagne bites The portion sizes were large and the food was very tasty. We couldn't finish a lot of our food off which was a shame! We boxed the pizza up to take home, and we were also asked if we wanted to box anything else up My partner ordered a white chocolate milkshake which was huge! The menu didn't mention that the milkshake would be topped with whipped cream which my partner doesn't eat. We had to ask the waiter for a bowl and spoon so we could remove it ourselves which seemed to be met with some annoyance Our bill came to £44 for: one meal (main, side and drink), pizza, lasagne bites, milkshake and a lemonade. The drink for the meal deal was just tap water so we asked if the lemonade could be added to the deal instead. The food bill was more than reasonable! I would definitely eat here again but not order as much food!

I ordered a Pornstar Martini (£8.50) and an Um Bungo (£9). My girlfriend ordered a Purple Rain (£9) and a Pineapple Express (£9). The cocktails tasted good but didn’t seem very strong. After browsing the food menu, we decided to order some - I got the Roasted Pineapple Hot Sauce Southern Fried Cauliflower Bites (£6) and my girlfriend got the TC BBQ Sauce Southern Fried Tenders (£9). The cauliflower batter was soggy instead of crispy but the taste was nice. The chicken was soft and juicy, and the sauce was tasty. The waitress was attentive and we were served quickly. Overall, we wouldn’t return for cocktails but would probably come back for some more food.

Could not ask for better. Staff were all amazing. Especially our server, Callum. Food was beautiful as always. Such generous portions. Only issue we have is we’ve never got to try dessert because we’re always so full 😂. Took our dog Piper with us and she was treated like a celeb. If you’re ever looking for a mascot let us know lol. Will be back again soon.

Brilliant atmosphere with good tunes. Food was delicious Portions are huge ! Go with an appetite as there is a lot of eating in those pizzas! We shared a pizza along with 2 sides and could not finish it, one slice of pizza was enough to fill me up along with the sides. Chicken wings in siriacha and pineapple were delicious and just fell off the bone. Will defo be back to sample more on the menu.

Went for lunch after seeing this restaurant being reviewed online. We had the beef burnt ends to share, my partner had the pulled pork sandwich and I had Big Al’s Italian beef sandwich. The beef burnt ends and the pulled pork sandwich were excellent. Unfortunately Big Al’s beef Italian beef sandwich was awful, the beef was so tough it could have been made of Italian shoe leather.

Second day in Glasgow, looking for an early tea before home the next day. A quick Google search reveals “Thunder, Thunder, Thundercats!!!” A proper American style hit of dogs, burgers and fries with a side of fried pickles. Staff were great and chatty. This place gives you a dirty treat of that food you need and desire every now and then but know you shouldn’t have every day. £55 bill for three drinks, three mains and three sides. Great food. Well worth a cheeky visit.

My wife suggested we try Thundercats for my birthday lunch. We hadn't made a reservation, but figured it wouldn't be a problem on a Monday afternoon. Was surprised at how busy it actually was but we were quickly taken to a table. The waiting staff were all very friendly and took our drink order right away. I had a chocolate milkshake, which was excellent and my wife had a soft drink. We decided to share a Chicago style deep dish pizza and ordered fries, halloumi bites, and Burnt end bites. The menu pointed out the pizza was for sharing and they weren't kidding, although it was one of the better deep dish pizza's I have had in the UK. The fries were, well just fries - hard to get wrong. The Burnt ends were amazing, as a fan of American bbq, I was really impressed and the Halloumi bites were also very good. The portion sizes were really big and overall the price was really reasonable. Would 100% eat here again, only don't eat too much before you get there!

I'm really hoping in time that I can take this down as I actually really really like this place and the staff are always lovely. Unfortunately the fruit fly situation is really out of control. I had one glass of wine and within 30 minutes 2 flies died in it while we were swatting others away. I know they are harmless but we couldn't stay for more because of it. Again, great staff, great place. Really hope they fix it.

Been dreaming about these Deep Dish pizzas for months, and my god they did not disappoint! This place is a MUST! Funky interior, killer vibe with awesome 70s/80s music and, most importantly, food to die for! Firstly, the milkshakes! Made with dairy ice cream, these are huge and indulgent AF, but easily up there with Five Guys and Smashburger. The Nutella Shake was so good! For food we had Chicken n Waffles with Mac n Cheese! Every part of the dish was great, and full of flavour, but was super impressed as to how fresh the waffles were. We had the Garlic Butter, Herb and Pecorino Cheese Fries on the side, which were surprisingly crispy! The butter got a little too overpowering the more you ate, but they’re good as a sharer. Vampires will not be visiting anytime soon. However the pièce de résistance was the Chicago Deep Dish Pizza…WOW. My favourite pizza of all time is from Giordano's, who specialise in this style. This was just as good! The flavour of the pizza sauce was insane and the Italian sausage added a real herby kick. It’s MEGA filling, though! So keep that in mind. 10/10. I’d 100% return here for the pizza alone. It’s that good. We were about £50 for the meal and 3 drinks (one being a milkshake) which was totally worth it, considering how good it was. If you’ve never tried this place, then I’d absolutely recommend it. Great vibe for a night out, too.

Great burger at work lunch. Service a little slow but food was good only thing that was strange was the ceasar dressing tasted of apple rather than a ceasar dressing. All in all a good meal

The venue is pleasant and rock and roll vibe. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had 2 different burgers and they were big and tasty. We got a side of salt and chilli fries which were a disappointment, they lacked everything and certainly not worth the £5.50 price tag. Good weekday drink deals too.

We loved it here! If you like American-style food then you'll love dining at Thundercat's. I'd recommend grabbing a cocktail or two and ordering one of the deep dish pizzas or the chicken parm sandwich.
