We visited today and all I can say is WOW! Amazing atmosphere, outstanding food and service to be proud of. The attention to detail is spot on, I honestly can not recommend Through the looking glass enough, just what Kirkby in Ashfield needs! Thank you so much we had an absolutely lovely time, we will definalty be back for more yummy cake.

A Kirkby gem! Lovely jacket potato with cheese followed by a strawberry cheesecake and a pot of tea - amazing. Welcoming atmosphere. If you haven’t tried you are missing out!

The best tearoom to have my baby shower, beautifully themed and decorated. Food fresh and delicious. Well catered for allergies or intolerances. Excellent service and communication, made the occasion great, all guests very happy. Would recommend to anyone.

Took my Granddaughter as a 10th birthday treat. Myself & my Daughter had adults afternoon tea, my Granddaughter had the children's afternoon tea. The whole visit was amazing, food was delicious, staff so friendly and nothing too much trouble. Will definitely visit again.

Wow where does one start. The outside instantly stirs your imagination and then you walk through the door and your in wonderland. So much to take in with the delightful set up. Then the food .. we ordered a flat bread with halloumi and caramelised onion and I ordered the sweet chilli chicken and cheese paninni and it was really nice. The little one got a mini milkshake and a cherry scone and it was just as amazing as it looked .Make sure you book if you want to be guaranteed a table to take a journey down the rabbits hole and enjoy some of the finest wonderland treats.

I come here regularly, always beautiful food and the scones are highly recommended. Whether it be afternoon tea or lunch it's always perfection. Friendly attentive staff, beautiful home made food, beautiful surroundings, just lovely. I also order the afternoon tea to take out for special occasions. Always spot on. If you haven't tried this place yet, what are you waiting for. Kirkby's own little treasure.

After sampling quite a few different places for afternoon tea, this is by far the best place! Everything about this place is fabulous, the magnificent mural, the attention to detail with the theming, the food itself, and the impeccable service. I was recommended to go here by a friend, and I'll definitely be going again. We had four crustless finger sandwiches each, on lovely fluffy different varieties of bread, a bowl of crisps, a salad (not just a basic salad, but with extras like fresh peppers and olives too), a pot of (delicious) coleslaw, a couple of fresh strawberries, a themed biscuit (one Alice dress, and one top hat), a delicious (giant) scone with clotted cream and jam, and a slice of cake (chosen by us from the cabinet). We couldn't finish ours, so we were asked if we would like to take the rest home, and it was boxed up for us to enjoy for later (which we have). This place is a real credit, not just to Kirkby, but to Nottinghamshire and beyond, and believe me, I should know, I've travelled way outside of Nottinghamshire for an afternoon tea, with the promise of it being 'to die for', and this far exceeds those! The coleslaw is the best I have ever tasted, and the scones are the best I have ever tasted (I also bake my own, using Mary Berry's recipe, and these were better, fluffier, and tastier). We were told that the coleslaw and all of the cakes are made fresh on the day by the owner, (our scones were still warm). We chose one biscoff cake and one lemon cake for later, and those were equally scrumptious. I highly, highly, highly recommend a visit here.
