As locals we visit The Shies fairly regularly and have eaten here several times too. However the food we were served over Easter weekend was excellent and worthy of a review! Noting exotic, just good value, wholesome, decent portioned food.

Sunday lunch with family. Granddaughter very fussy and doesn't eat roast dinners. No problem here. They asked what she'd like (sausages & Yorkshire puddings) and they were happy to oblige. Been coming here for over 6 years. It's always warm & friendly.

Drove past here today and decided to stop off for Sunday Lunch. Nice traditional place, with welcoming, friendly staff. We were given a set menu board to choose from. It was really good value, offering 1 course £10.95, 2 courses £14.95 and 3 courses £17.95. We had roast beef which was delicious and the portions were really generous, with roast potatoes, parsnips, yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese, swede, carrots, cabbage and broccoli. The syrup sponge was fantastic, it was so light and tasty..an absolute winner! Would definitely recommend and make a return visit.

Staying at the caravan site next door - called in twice during our stay; we had 2 dogs with us and on the first visit, when the weather was warm and sunny we sat outside on the front to eat. Great views! Second visit - we went with the intention of having a takeaway since they don’t allow dogs inside and the weather wasn’t great. Went to order and the lovely lady said we could go and sit in the barn area, undercover and one of the staff would come up to serve us - brilliant! The barn had been prepped for a wedding the next day (we kept well away from the decor) and so it looked rather lovely with the twinkling lights. The young waitress was superb - thank you! Hope Clare & David had a lovely day - Congratulations!

Loved this pub. We were welcomed by a bar server who was enjoying the music, smiling, and friendly, this instantly made us feel welcome. We loved sitting out front and watching the beautiful sunset and enjoying the fabulous views. We popped in quite a few times as we were staying in our caravan on the site next door. On our last night we booked a table in the restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was superb. Highly recommend the Three Horseshoes. we always try to come here when we can get in and don’t fancy cooking one ourselves. the meat selection is always good and very generous, their roast potatoes are the best - lovely and crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. it is a carvery so can help yourself. they unfortunately don’t have any mash but we just add extra roasties! their gravy is lovely and homemade with the meat juices in. the staff are lovely and attentive. our favourite place to go for sunday lunch!

We are regular visitors to the Red Lion in Myddle. We return every time because the food and service is second to none. We always receive a warm welcome and we know how hard Pete and Jackie and staff work to make sure that their guests are not disappointed. If you fancy a meal out around Shrewsbury (lunch or dinner) then look no further than the Red Lion. You won’t regret it.
