Helpful and friendly staff. Nice atmosphere

Ordered a toasted BLT ciabatta and got a cold white baguette instead. Servers tells me that that's the only thing they have besides sliced bread. When I asked for a refund, the manager gave it without any eye contact, apology, or the slightest concer for what went wrong. Very poor!!

During my recent lunch outing, I decided to try out a new restaurant. I had high hopes for the food quality, but unfortunately, it was just average and didn't meet my expectations. The dishes lacked the flavour that I had hoped for, and I was left feeling underwhelmed. I placed an order for a Sirloin steak cooked to medium-well perfection. However, to my surprise, the steak that was brought to me seemed to be burnt and overcooked, which made my dining experience quite disappointing. To add to my disappointment, the person at the counter was not helpful at all. Their demeanour was quite rude and ignorant, making me feel unwelcome and unimportant. Their behaviour was unprofessional and it really detracted from my overall dining experience, leaving me feeling unsatisfied.

Everything was excellent. Service was exceptional, food was delicious and staff friendly and efficient.

Went Posh. Great fish and chips and a decent ale too boot.

Disgusted with parking situation, clearly in it to make money, no one tells you about checking your car in, just have to wait for £100 fine, tried to discuss with pub as not a local and just said there are signs nothing we can do, rubbish customer service, food mediocre and all in left a bad taste in my mouth, will not be using the facilities again.

Nice old pub, only stopped for a quick drink, car park at the rear, friendly staff.

We used to go to the Three Hammers a lot but the quality if the food produce was not as good e.g not great chips & small chicken in burger. Plus the place is in bad need of a complete refurbishment. So we go to The Swan Leavesden good food produce nicely presented. Clean premises.

The food could have been warmer, quicker as we pre ordered. The vegetables were not cooked enough. The puddings were great. Nice venue, friendly staff and will go again as was perfect for our group of 10.

Midweek drink, fairly quiet, and bit of a shock when last orders called at 10pm..

Bit annoying that they won't let kids in after 9, however they will let them stay outside on their benches, but the food is still great, the interior is quite old but it does the job, a few gaming arcade machines and nice staff.

Hi I would like to know why, as a courtesy, your staff do not think it prudent to ask customers if they have registered their car. If we have received a ticket for our visit last night we will never visit your pub again

Me and my wife have been going in here for ages and we travel from Ware it is such a lovely pub with great food and very friendly and welcoming staff a lovely chilled atmosphere in there we went yesterday afternoon my wife had the surf and turf and I had the ultimate burger food was superb as always and the pub was packed cheers see you soon

Really nice little pub, typical cheap and cheerful Ember Inn, with friendly staff. There didn't seem to be any ability to book a table online but when we called, the staff confirmed that there was plenty of space. The food arrived promptly and the burger especially was delicious by all accounts, although the first choice of pie was unavailable unfortunately. The curry was served with small naan bread and rice but the fresh chilli added a nice bit of heat. There was a bit of confusion when we first arrived in that the iPad to confirm your registration for parking was broken so we weren't sure if we needed to check in, but do make sure you do!

For the third time this year we have booked a table online for a meal in the evening at a time when they indicate food will be available only for the pub to ring us either on the day or late the day before to say the kitchen will be closed at our booking time! Left us literally no time to find somewhere else to dine this New Years Eve. Suggest you ammend your booking system to ensure customers can only book a table for meals at times when food is going to be available! Its not rocket science!

Lovely pub, lovely staff always up for a chat and friendly faces. Never fail to help or go the extra mile to sort anything for anyone. Adapt to people needs, accessible. Allow dogs! Treats behind the bar! Would recommend to anyone for a bite to eat or even a coffee and a catch up!

A lovely pub, very helpful, friendly staff. We had a fab Xmas meal, generous portions and my psrtner a lovely sea bass. Its ideal for family get togethers, and friend meet ups. No-stress parking and good road connections is also a plus..

Popped in whilst passing and want to thank all the staff for such a warm welcome, I’ll definitely be back.

Visited here the other day and received some the worst service I have ever experienced. Our server Barb/Barbara was so rude and unhelpful she had an attitude the whole time she served us. It’s appalling that she is the face of management there. I would be embarrassed to call her a manager if she were an employee of mine. The only positive from this visit was the food it was cooked perfectly such a shame the service didn’t match otherwise would definitely have returned.

Me and my family came in for a Sunday lunch and it was delicious. We all had starters mains and desserts it was a very reasonable price and tasted amazing. All of the staff were so friendly and welcoming

Really nice pub, been here many of times but not this close to Christmas. However the staff were so nice! Made the booking from a 2 to a 3 as a surprise and we're very cooperative! Food was lovely, as were the drinks - ordered all on the app, scanning the QR code. Everything worked nicely! Will come here again!

It would have been rated much higher if it were not for the food. The front of house and bar staff were very polite and accommodating, the atmosphere was nice enough too. The food was unfortunately very poor. Stringy mushrooms, lumpy gravy, still frozen foods, uncooked veg. It was clearly a dish that had been pre-frozen and reheated to a very low standard. I don't think it would take all that much effort to turn this around which is what made it all the more disappointing. We'd had to send two dishes back. Both of which came back out simply heated a little more rather than freshly cooked plates. Until this is sorted out, I'd spend a little more and eat elsewhere.

Ample parking space... Tasty options for brunch, lunch and dinner... The pub it self is very rustic and old but well maintained.... off the M25 in a village setup, friendly staff. Use the QR code on the table to order and the service is blazingly fast.....

Had our first Xmas dinner with friends. Had to wait quite a while as there seemed to be a problem. However, the food was excellent, they were seriously understaffed, and the seating was exactly where we requested. And, they apologised for the wait and provided a round of drinks. Very friendly staff, just not enough of them. Great afternoon.

We’ve had many good visits here and nice meals unfortunately our last visit and this time on Saturday have not been good , it was our yearly Christmas meal and all of the Christmas main meals except for the roast turkey were unavailable , two of our group had this and the vegetables were raw and cold the whole meal was Luke warm the pigs in blankets were undercooked and they didn’t enjoy their meals , no one came to ask if our food was alright and when we complained we were told we should have said earlier a shame because we would have done , the 2 burger meals of the regular menu were fine but the side of onion rings we’d ordered never came either , we were given a discount of our our one round of drinks were taken off the bill , we were offered free deserts but due to the wait declined as we were by then short of time , I’m sorry to write this as we’ve had positive experiences here in the past .

For my daughter’s birthday she wanted to have lunch with her friends and be “grown up’s” on their own table. After speaking to the team to book this I knew it was the right place to come, nothing was too much trouble for them they made the girls feel very special and they all absolutely had the best time, with lots of empty plates as well! With an adult supervision table near them, myself and a couple of other parents enjoyed a lovely lunch too. Definitely recommend the Three Hammers. The team made it so special for us as a family that we have booked for our first ever Christmas Day Lunch out, but I’m sure we will be back in a few times before then. Thank you Barbara and the Team.

I was playing golf in the area needing to get something to eat on the way home I passed the Three Hammers and decided to go there. I'm glad I did I am disabled due to a spinal cord injury and the staff was So helpful. They found a table for me and gave me a complete table service for me and frankly spoiled me during my visit. The meal was delicious, but what made the visit special was as a disabled person was the way I was treated with respect.

Great service by bao. Very helpful and polite nothing was too much trouble.

Only thing I could say was I could find the toilet. The smell. Worth giving a miss!!!

Lovely building in great location. The staff are really friendly and helpful. We had the roast dinner which we both enjoyed. We look forward to returning. I would highly recommend.

I was most impressed by the very friendly and capable team, who not only made a world of difference with their friendly disposition and can do attitude, but the fact that they took the time to talk to customers (you don’t get that in London)! The garden looked great, although it was a little too warm for us to sit outside today. After our network meeting ended I stayed on to have lunch with a couple of others. I had the chicken, bacon and avocado salad, which was a great choice given we were on the hottest day of the year! I’m not known for eating salads, as I consider it punishment for doing something wrong, but I was delighted with the appearance, size and taste; so I seem to have been converted! Many congratulations to the entire team, seen and unseen. To the chefs and their team, I salute you all!! Fantastic job. The burger one of my friend’s had, looked amazing! I very much look forward to seeing you again each month and more if I can help it (well worth the journey around the M25 from Heathrow, where I live close by). Congratulations 🥳 one and all.

Stopped off for a quick drink and meal. Had one of the best Fish(Haddock) & Chips we have had in many years. Nice friendly staff, we a lovely Atmosphere. We would recommend a visit.

The first impressive thing about this pub is the beautiful place, great atmosphere and of course their food is excellent.

Messed up our order, kids pizza was a Chicago town one..... RUBBISH.... Don't recommend.

Reasonable food at reasonable prices.

The starter was lovely, the beef roast main was extremely poor, barely warm, beef very tough and some of the veg raw. If it wasn't for the nice environment and staff it would have been less.

Very approachable and supportive staff. One of our party needed to use a stick and they were very helpful in carrying his drink to the table. The food was excellent. We had a voucher which reduced the price of the food but the lunch would have been good value even without the voucher. In the past the pub has sometimes had a party of people for lunch and it has been too overcrowded. This time because the lunches were restricted to only those who had booked this worked really well so a good practice to follow.

Excellent menu. The food was well cooked and good value. Very pleasant staff.

Avoid food at all costs . After waiting just under and hour for 2 steaks and chips when arrived the steak resembled a chamois leather with less taste so over cooked even my dog wouldn’t eat it . Also after waiting so long for the food upon arrival half of the dinner on one plate was missing ( no chips with a steak and chip dinner ) and rest was cold . Has to then ask for cutlery and condiments When told staff it’s not good enough all I got was a sorry . £45 wasted worse food ever eaten save your time and money and go McDonald’s makes this look like the ivy .

To be frank very rundown filthy chairs, gentleman’s toilet unclean and unhygienic with dirty doors and worn paintwork. However lovely fireplaces, good service and reasonable inexpensive food. Beautiful old building

Food came quickly and they had just cleaned the table. She asked was there anything else. We said no.

It was my first time there with my partner, we had two courses and were so impressed with the quality of the food, the portions, the prices and the general environment. The staff were lovely and our server Kenzie was very sweet and efficient. Couldn’t stop raving about how good this place was when we got home and we can’t wait to come back

Cosy pub, we were there for the wake of a dear friend. Would definitely go back but we live in the north of England.

It is a warm welcoming pub on the edge of town. The service was excellent. the food was good. We were there early for Sunday lunch. It was quiet and relaxing.

Leaking ceiling above where I sat, (at a wake) got soaked staff weren't that concerned and couldn't confirm what the leak was, ie water pipe or waste pipe. Food was good. Shame about the service @ I've edited this as there is no place to reply. I could have written the reply I got from the bar staff at the time I reported the leak, but it was not very complimentary to the business owners. I didn't place it here as it was a personal opinion of staff and not mine. However during that conversation, there was no mention of the staff shower leaking ( and I have to say if its a common occurrence, then get it fixed) there was also no mention or offer to clean my coat. They did provide a bucket once I had asked for it to stop the drips. Im sure you can check this on your cctv if only for vision, not sound.

Really nice chill pub to have a drink with a couple of friends! The bartenders are very friendly and professional. Overall the atmosphere of the place is also chilled. Having my second visit here I decided to order some food and they do not disappointed! The katsu chicken burger is beautifully cooked and seasoned. Desserts are also very rich and indulgent! 5 stars!

A modern comfortable pub with a traditional atmosphere; good service and reasonable prices. We went there for a couple of drinks before lunch and thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Food could have been better but will go again when they have done repairs to walls as could do with redecorating

I am local and I like to pop into this pub from time to time. The staff are very friendly and the beer is nice. I have eaten here once or twice in the past too. It was years ago, but at that time the food was very nice too.

Good food with reasonable prices.

My visit to three hammers was fantastic the staff were warm and friendly, I was served by the most loveliest polite server in the world Lucy, she was so accommodating and welcoming and the food was outstanding!!!! And the atmosphere was brilliant I cannot rate this place enough if you’re just looking for somewhere to have a great family meal out the three hammers is the place to chose.

Went with friends other day and had lovely meal and all staff and manager helped us when needed. Good value for money and lots of people with dogs there what was nice to see, a local pub what lets pets in too. Keep up good work.

First time going, the food was great.

The three hammers staff never fail to serve amazing food and drinks with a great atmosphere. Very attentive team and amazing food. Would highly recommend
