We have been coming this pub regularly for just over a year now. The food is always high quality and is matched by the service. Jamie, Sapphire, Maddie, Meygan and Sarah are always really friendly and make you feel welcome. Jamie does a great job of running the free Smart Pub Quiz every Thursday and this is always a really fun evening. I would highly recommend this pub!

Really nice food great service been there a few times now

It was very noisy with a private function,which meant we had to sit outside the garden tables were filthy. There was music blaring outside as well as sports on the TV so it was hard to even have a conversation. The food was average, the toilets absolutely stank and were not very clean.

Came here on the 25.8.24 for Sunday lunch was absolutely lovely and plenty of the plate well worth the money

Enjoy coming to Three crowns for the atmosphere, especially when sports is on. Sapphire is very friendly , welcoming and good at her job. Would recommend a visit can't comment on food as I don't eat here

Having returned yesterday for a meal with work colleagues, I will say that I enjoyed my meal, the atmosphere and the experience on the whole. I like the sports area with pool table and big screen.

Came in for a meal in the afternoon and was served by jade and Emme. Great service and very friendly thank you will definitely come back again really nice food and drinks

Food is excellent, and the staff are very friendly. We was served by Jamie he was very polite and helpful. Sapphire brought our food and and she was very polite, she made sure we had everything we needed. Sapphire checked to see if our food was OK and I can honestly say we really enjoyed the food. We was asked if we were having a pudding but I'm afraid we was too full. She said there is always room for a pudding haha. Sapphire is a credit to your team.

Just been in 3 crowns ... again sapphire so friendly! Made sure we had drinks and made us feel comfortable! Makes a big difference coming into the pub been greeted by a lovely member of staff!

We hosted our Under 15 football presentation in the outdoor event space area and it worked perfectly. Gareth and the team booked out the area for us, provided food and drink and everyone had a great time celebrating our league victory this season. Looking forward to having our presentaion here again next year, thanks again to Gareth and all the staff at the 3 Crowns. 👍

Not tried the food here, but plenty eating around us. Nice to sit outside in the good weather. This place is set up for sports fans inside and out. At the end of the day, it is what it is a typical formula pub, nothing special but nothing wrong with it.

The Dining area is very comfy, the ambience is good, and the food was fine.

Lovely place, especially good to pop in on a river side walk! All the staff I've met are always friendly, thank you all! But I'd like to say my big thanks to Jake, because I was a bit ill on my first ever visit here, and I've lost my voice for a few days. Jake was very patient and helpful whilst I could barely make a sound trying to talk and make an order. He also helped me offering some good options from the menu, which I really enjoyed when tried. Very nice place, happy to come back any time I am near here ))

Food seems reasonably priced but still waiting for it to be served, 45 mins. Beers overpriced at £6 a pint.

Visted to celebrate a friends retirement. Had a lovely evening, we were given a nice quiet table and the food and service were excellent

What a wonderful set of staff! So welcoming and helpful. They couldn't do enough for us and the food was really yummy.

Waited nearly an hour for the food. Then came out in sections some waiting an extra ten mins till their food came out. We had brought a birthday cake. I asked twice if they could bring it and they didn’t in the end so I had to ask for the cake and lighter and did the cake and candles myself. Total let down

Extremely poor, rude and condescending service from the bar staff lady, the worst pint of Guinness I have ever been served, I hoped to try the food but we quickly left, will never visit again,

I came to eat with my colleagues after work and I ordered a rump steak. As I have a rare allergy, I didn’t mention it to the cashier while ordering but the salad came with the ingredient I am allergic to. I apologies and offered to buy a second main dish but Madalyn, who served us, was so kind and helpful. They redid the whole main for me and it was very tender and delicious! Thank you!

We visited for my daughters Birthday. I dropped a balloon and cake off earlier in the day. The manager was extremely friendly and ensured everything was in place for our visit later that day. We ordered our food and used a 30% off voucher which made the overall price really reasonable. The food arrived in a timely manner and was hot and cooked to perfection. The kids loved their chicken burgers and fries and the fish was amazing, very fresh and plentiful. My mum had the lasagna and said its the best one she has ever had and enjoyed every mouthful. The service was top notch, friendly staff, checked to make sure everything was OK. We ended the meal with the birthday cake I brought in, with a rendition of Happy Birthday initiated by the manager bringing the cake over. A very nice experience, I would definitely return. Only one gripe was we felt abit cold, whether that's because the eating area is near many large windows and the weather was cold, but the heating was on.

Since moving to Victoria Dock in September 2023, me and my partner were thrilled to find a cosy yet lively pub/restaurant right on our doorstep. We have had countless of visits on weekdays with friends, weekends with parents, celebrating birthdays and watching the football, every single time is faultless. Staff are all so lovely and manager makes you feel as if you’ve known him ages, just what you want in your local pub. Food is delicious and I can be quite picky! service is always top notch.

Good burger offer on a Tuesday night , nice range of drinks and meals to suit everyone. Plenty of parking available. Good outdoor area too

Myself and the husband attend often and have booked in the past for special family occasions and family from abroad love the food and atmosphere as we do also.

Food was lovely as I expected from a mastons pub. But disappointed that the prices vary from pub to pub. The cobblers hall in Newton aycliffe has the same menu but cheaper

The three crowns (formally the goldcrest, the timber dock) is a marstons pub (like the red sails and the apollo) but there is no sign outside telling you, so the food menu is the same as others in the chain. There is a wide choice of beers and lagers with marstons pedigree and hobgoblin on hand pumps. There is a nice separate bar with a pool table and dart board. The Large outdoor seating area is quite attractive with a large screen TV for watching sports. The barmaid was friendly, although service was slow due to her having to serve drinks, take food orders, serve the food, clear and clean tables on her own. The food was nice but other chains are better value in my opinion. Large free car park with electric charging points.

This pub is one of the best, just a little from town center, food and service is outstanding and Jade provided us with the best service I've ever experienced well done all the team but extra special shot out to Jade

The staff were really lovely the starters and pudding were lovely the main Sunday roast was absolutely disgusting the meat was sandwich meat the roast potato's were not cooked properly hard in middle the Yorkshire pudding was that hard you couldn't cut it the stuffing ball and pig in blanket were anemic and cold the carrots peas were out of a tin the broccoli was ok and the red stuff think it was cabbage just didn't look right on the plate and the gravy was just coloured water

Extremely embarrassing small WW2 ration-like portions and poor quality Sunday Roast served on Mother's Day. Given a tiny gravy boat with only enough gravy to cover my meat. Had to ask for more and was given a very large gravy boat so why couldn't we have had that to begin with? I would not eat here again. I wanted to try somewhere new and I wish I'd sticked to what I know now. The Sunday dinner was very poor. Poor quality meat and obviously frozen vegetables, not fresh. Felt like rations, not much on plate compared to other pubs. Tiny amount of gravy which did not cover everything. Had to get up and ask for more. I was embarrassed that we had such poor food and portion for mothers day. It was like prison/hospital quality food and child portions not adult portions. First visit and will not return or recommend. We were sat there laughing at the food and we then went and ate somewhere else. We were still hungry! If I wanted hospital food or prison food then I'd visit those establishments. Service great, can't fault the service.
