We visited Scrummy Yummy on our way home from our holiday in Wales. We arrived shortly before they were closing for the day (3pm) Regardless of this they were extremely accommodating. We hadn’t eaten since breakfast and was looking for maybe a sandwich for lunch. They were able to serve us some sausage rolls that were still available, but they also offered to make us some fresh chips to accompany them. We sat outside in the sunshine and at no point did we feel under pressure to eat up and go. We even had cake for after. The service was fantastic and the food just as good. What a lovely place to go for lunch. If we are ever in Ross on Wye again looking for lunch this will be where we’ll go and hopefully next time it’ll be earlier than 2.45!!! Thank you 😊

We have visited this caffe for the last 4.5 years. Under the old owners and the new. This is by far the best caffe in Ross. It’s dog friendly our Cavachon loves going there. Every time I go in I say I mustn’t have cake but once I see them I can’t resist. The staff are all friendly and the food is excellent. The caffè & toilet are spotless. Well done to the new owners.

All I can say is wow! What a great find! My husband and I were holiday in Ross on Wye with our two children and came across this little gem of a place. The coffee and food are fabulous as are the staff who were so friendly and accommodating. The breakfasts were cooked perfectly and the vegetarian options are great. The whole place was so clean including the toilets, which were well equipped with baby change facilities. I only wish we lived closer by as we would be regular visitors.

This place is fantastic! We had a wonderful breakfast with top quality products. The bacon was thick and lean, the eggs were fresh and deep yellow. Sausages were meaty and tasty. The sourdough bread 'to die for'. The coffee was also delightful and the staff were amazing. Highly recommended 👌

We were having a short break in Ross on Wye and spoke to a local couple who recommended the Coffee Lounge. It was exceptionally clean and fresh looking and the staff very polite and friendly. We ordered our meals and because they were made to order knew we would have to wait but it was definitely worth it. I don't know what else to say, but if you ever go to Ross fing it and enjoy. Superb.

I was enjoying a coffee and a bacon sandwich last Saturday morning with my wife in the sunshine on the outside seating area finishing off my Telegraph crossword. A thought came to me, why would anyone sit at a table on the roadside outside at so many other coffee shops in Ross on Wye soaking in the fumes from trucks, vans and cars when they could sit outside in fresh air at the pedestrian only area of Thorns Coffee Lounge? I have no idea! The other big plus of course - Its freshly prepared and not prepacked food. Lovely place for a clean air break. dougskeggs@aol.com

Took my two grandsons for breakfast, very busy with only outside tables left, ordered our food, the drinks came quickly then a bit of wait for food ( like I said it was busy) but well worth the wait, my poached eggs were cooked perfectly. The big breakfast looked amazing and filled a hungry 20yr old. Cafe is clean and tidy, the staff are friendly and helpful.Would highly recommend if you are in Ross, they also do a lovely lunchtime light snack menu.

I was in Ross on Wye just killing time for a few hours really as I was waiting for my husband. I had the dog with me and was delighted to find the cafe was dog friendly so I could wait in comfort. The cafe is bright and contemporary with friendly staff at the counter to take your order which they will bring over to you. I only had a couple of hot drinks, as I'd already eaten but enjoyed the ambience as the dog and I people watched for an hour or so. The next day my husband and I were going to visit Goodrich Castle and I'd already decided where we would have breakfast first. Full English for him and poached eggs on avocado for me. The full English was apparently "brilliant" and mine was ok apart from no runny egg which is the best bit normally of this dish :(. However, I still highly recommend to anyone visiting the area and when the weather is a bit warmer there's plenty of outside seating to enjoy.

A friend and I went to eat there today and the whole experience was a nightmare. I'm vegetarian and ordered a Brie and Cranberry toasties which was ovef £7.00. We stressed 'no bacon'. My friend asked for just a salad but was informed that wasn't possible as they only did salad garnishes?? She passed on ordering anything but I went ahead with my toastie. On biting into it I immediately tasted bacon. I haven't eaten meat in years and it was a horrible experience... I still feel sick, hours later. No apology, it was blamed on my friend ordering a salad and confusing the issue! Having overcharged us to begin with I insisted on a refund which was given. So, not recommend in any way... Overpriced to begin with, service poor and attention to order... Zilch!

We were staying on the Malvern View Country and Leisure Park for a weekend stay which we could not fault. However, we dined at The Old Barnhouse on the Saturday evening and unfortunately the food was terrible. We waited for nearly an hour and when the food arrived it was half cold. My mother and father had scampi and chips, no peas and they were out of tartare sauce! My sister and I had the New Yorker chicken which consisted of a huge portion of coleslaw that wasn’t very nice and the chicken was small and if poor quality. My daughter had a kids pizza, chips and beans which was just about acceptable. The five meals and a round of drinks came to over £80 which was appalling for the quality of the food. Avoid The Old Barnhouse for food! Pleasant enough for a drink.

Rude, extremely disappointing, shocking and disrespectful staff! We arrived after making a booking the day before. I booked 2 Adults, 1 child aged 2. The booking itself was pleasant. We got slightly lost, rang in and again very pleasant. Arrived 7 minutes late and walked into a very ‘local’ pub feel. All eyes on us. We were told by the bar person that they were glad we found them. A woman appeared and looked at my Grandson and commented ‘we don’t have highchairs’ I commented that I’d booked ahead with a child on the booking? She said she would go down in the cellar and dust something suitable to bring up then asked me if I had a chair in my car???!!!! We approached the bar and I said I was confused as I’d booked a child ahead of coming. I was ignored, I said once again and the younger woman behind the bar looked at me and in a slightly raised voice utttered ‘well, yes she’s gone to get you something hasn’t she!!’ Based on this experience I told my Friend we were leaving as being treated like this was way beyond acceptable. I wasn’t happy and I let it be known! My Friend and I were left shocked and felt we had been treated appallingly by 2 extremely rude women. Whilst we were putting my Grandson in the car the older women came out and further patronised us with her offering of a dusted off cellar chair and we told her that her colleague was vile and it had gone beyond the chair. She walked off. Having read through the reviews I can see hands have changed and so this may be why I didn’t receive the reputation I had heard of. I have the feeling they felt they were above us! I’m not easily impressed so their Morgan cars and gold large Baroque chairs only further deepens my suspicions that they think they’re better 🤣🤣
