Thornhill Arms in Leeds

Lovely old pub selling expensive poor quality food. £17.95 for steak & ale pie which was filled with mushy meat, very few chunks of steak and had an odd spicy taste. Served with minted mushy peas which I would not have orederd had it stated minted on the menu. My husband had scampi which was more batter than fish. He also got minted muchy peas and it was served with garlic mayo instead of tartare sauce. Neither of us enjoyed our meal which was a shame because we were checking it out with a view to booking our Golden Wedding Annniversary family party. We have now booked it at the Stansfiled Arms which I can highly recommend

Delicious food for my birthday in a lovely environment. A star lost for being charged full price on a Tuesday which we didn’t realise til we got home (20% off Monday-Wednesday). Would definitely return though (and make sure hubby has his specs 🤓!

The Thornhill is close to Calverley Woods, Leeds-Liverpool canal and the River Aire. It's a great place to refuel on a long walk and dogs are welcome. I am coeliac so eating out can be tricky but this place offers a huge range of GF options, I had a roast with GF yorkshire puddings and gravy.

The staff were all brilliant from the initial welcome and during the meal itself. The menu looked good, although a little expensive for pub food. We had a couple of states between four of us which were fine. Then 2 chicken burgers , Caesar salad and a chicken and pesto tagliatelle. Whilst it was all edible it’s was not the best quality and the meals were on average around £15/£16 for a main course so e expected better quality. We did not make a complaint at the time as we did not want any uncomfortable atmosphere with it friends. We had taken them there as a treat so it would not have been appropriate. One final positive is that the service was good even though it was a very busy time with lots of people eating as well as lots of people just having drinks. Unfortunately we will not be revisiting.

We went in today for lunch, there was only a few people in and only one other couple eating. They were served, then a while later the kitchen bell rang and we assumed that would be our food, seven rings and quite a long time later out food arrived. Not the best service we've had there. The food was good but the service not so great. It was a shame as we usually enjoy eating there.

The food has gone downhill massively. Steak was later out due to it apparently being so big. It was meant to be cooked medium but was overcooked and seemed more like a warmed up piece of beef joint . Chicken burgers were also poor and unfortunately the service was equally as poor

Lunch was well cooked , the fish and chips was a very small piece of fish for £16, and not many chips . Allbeit well cooked

Firstly I had to ask if we could order. Then took just under a hour to come My grandsons pie was over done and my other grandson ordered fish was on the small size Both ordered mushy peas were really dry they both left them. We went else we’re for a desert could not wait to get out of there Never again

I found this quaint yet modern and definitely quirky pub in my search for a venue for my Choirs end of term party. I was well greeted by a member of staff, who was delightful, showed interest and did every thing she could for me including showing me round , inside and out and giving me menus. I booked the pub without any hesitation. the facilities are terrific with adaptable areas to use as needed and the outside area looked amazing. Menu's were discussed the next time I popped in and tweaks were encouraged. The committee chose the cold buffet and added chips! Subsequently , the menu was re-written to meet out needs and be glorious. Every single time I called in to discuss details , the staff gave me 100% attention to detail. Wednesday 19th was our event. The staff rang me during the day to point out the violent weather.1 A fabulous solution was offered and indeed last night flowed very well. We had a reserved area inside. I was met on early arrival to be shown what area they had given us and discuss minutiae Comments overheard include. "What an amazing place" "Magnificent Buffet" " My food allergies were actually taken in to consideration and I had a fabulous meal!!" (the chef came out before service and showed the lady with allergies exactly what he had made and what else she could have ) WoW!!!!! The 2 vegetarians had lovely options and were delighted as were all of the choir!! Each and every e-mail on our site was full of praise for the Venue and it's staff Your staff took photos that I am sure they will share The staff are really exceptional -each and every one. They seemed determined to make our party special. and it was. I couldn't recommend The Thornhill more. Perfection

I visited The Thornhill pub on 10th May. The pub atmosphere was very cosy and welcoming. However, catering for vegetarians seemed to be an epic disaster here. Everything I ordered, I had to check if was truly vegetarian and it became awkward doing this in front of friends. Being a vegetarian means I don't want my chips fried in the same oil as the fish which was the case. I had to ask for alternative food for the chips and coleslaw that came with the meal and it was not done automatically. Even the halloumi was grilled for me and it felt this should have been the case. I enjoyed the company but the meal was too much of a fraught experience and it spoiled it for me.

If you like an Olde Worlde pub dating back to the 1600s with separate rooms, nooks and crannies with a variety of seating and tables be it high stools, low stools, long benches plus and outside area then this will suit you. If you expect ample on-site parking, forget it. Go for on-street parking nearby. Food-wise, we felt the quality of the food was good but we also felt the prices were above average for a pub. Service was very good indeed; young and attentive staff who were a pleasure. We were, however, surprised that there were no non-dairy milk alternatives for our coffees, for which the staff were apologetic. It was either full-fat or semi-skimmed milk. However, a request for water for the table prompted a huge jug with iced water. All other requests were greeted with a smile as if nothing was any trouble at all We would definitely recommend because, all in all it was a very pleasant long lunch visit and the staff are of the highest standard.

Thornhill has become our regular go to for Sunday dinner - fantastic food, great atmosphere and Jenna the manager is really friendly and attentive. Midweek we called in for tapas which was also brilliant. Defo recommend.

Excellent!!!! We’d tried a few venues ad hoc without success and tried here on the off chance. Although busy they accommodated us. The food was beautiful and very good quality. We were served in a timely manner and all staff were polite and welcoming. Looking forward to a return visit!

We waited a while to be served - when we were, our servers looked like they were doing us a favour. No hello, just walked over and looked at us 😂 when our food came it was swimming in gravy, which meant there was no texture at all. What little meat we did have in our portions was tough and chewy, like it had just been warmed up. It's a nice location and pub itself, but wouldn't be coming back for food.

Pre booked here for New Year’s Day lunch. Arrived early to find lots of reserved tables (good sign) had a drink before being seated . Was seen to table after approaching bar , drinks order taken and menus given. Advised soup of the day and left, and left and left . Took ages to come back for order . My creamed garlic mushrooms were tasty but such a small portion for price , other half had more ample starter with squid . Waited and age before plates removed and second course arriving . Finally came and I chose roast, of which veg in dish was very small again and had been warmed up , turkey was very peppery , nice Yorkshire ,and 2 roasties which didn’t really taste of much at all. Mash underneath was ok , and a welcome addition from the roasties . Husband had burger and no real complaints there . No cutlery for main, went to bar after 5 mins , was told he would bring it immediately, never happened . Ended up taking from another table . Could have walked out without paying , 20 mins after asking for bill still no one ! Ended up going to bar to pay . Let down from the last time we ate there , won’t rush back, kids in charge throughout and guess it’s due to wages on New Year’s Day, but really at the prices charged should have been someone over the age of 30 working . Shame because used to be a lovely gastro pub

Booked online when we arrived went to the bar to and said that I had a table booked for 3 people the lady said just give me a moment and I will check what table you have been allocated she came back and said that they has no record of my booking then another lady said that the system had gone down and wiped all bookings I said OK she said give me a moment I will find a table for you I said thankyou she came back and showed us to a table I said thankyou and gave us some menus I asked if we could give her a drinks order she was hesitant but said OK she went a way and we looked at the menu it was a totally different one to the ones online my friend commented on that to me I said I know we waited over 10 minutes for the drinks to arrive and for the waitres to come and take our order we ordered and sat and waited when it arrived the portion size of all our meals was very small I had the peppered chicken no vegetables just a few onion rings I requested chips with mine there was about half a dozen small home made chips my friend had chicken parmigiano it came with salad it was all lettuce apart from a few onions and a few olives not a proper salad. We were very disappointed and thought it was poor for the cost they need to give decent portion sizes for the price we wont be visiting again which is a shame as its just round the corner from me if it had been better I would be coming regularly with friends I wad planning to come again in the new year with more friends it's a great shame

We ate here twice in 3 days, service and food was spot on. Really good place and very Covid secure. No complaints whats so ever. Thank you.

Almorzamos el domingo hoy, sentimos que faltaban verduras, obtuvimos una zanahoria (cortada a la mitad) y la mitad de una chirivía, la verdura más extraña del plato fue la col lombarda cubierta de 5 especias chinas, una especia extraña para un asado dominical, ¡No hace falta decir que nadie lo tocó! 2 patatas asadas (podrían haber servido unas cuantas más)La carne, puré y Yorkies eran buenos?No creas que volveremos a toda prisa, era bastante caro para lo que recibías (13) por persona, ¡y nos sentimos como si estuviéramos en el rincón olvidado! El servicio fue un poco lento.

Food excellent, lovely place, gin deal fab, only fault was it was pretty noisy in the area we sat in and difficult hearing each other at times

You’ve got to visit this great little pub 😍 the girls are wonderful who wait on you. The food was just lovely, home made, lots of variety. Definitely visiting here again, plus there is ample parking around the back of the pub. 😀

Staff are friendly, food is good enough for the price and all round a nice pub to visit on a Sunday.

Although only a small menu the 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed it the service was excellent had all 3 courses and each 1 was enjoyed. Will be visiting again

Went here with three friends. We got a very warm welcome and were quickly seated. The surroundings were cosy and there were several smaller dining areas. The pub was pleasantly busy which was encouraging. We chose from a good menu and ordered drinks from a good range of beers and wines. I chose Beef Bourginion whilst the others chose fish pie and one gammon with eggs. The food was wonderful and the veg was cooked beautifully. Clean plates all round followed by coffee. Great food and fantastic service. I thoroughly recommend this gem of a pub.

Went for Sunday lunch yesterday and the food was up to the usual high standard. My only pretty big disappointment was the distinct lack of roast potatoes - only a single one being served!For what has to be the cheapest of ingredients to put on the plate I just can't understand why so frugal...(and the menu clearly offers roast potatoes). Sort it out please :-)Other than that the place is really good with friendly and welcoming staff.

We live literally round the corner and over the last few years the menu has chopped and changed a bit. New chef seems to have hit the standards they’re aiming for. Have been twice in two weeks for food with friends and family. Haven’t booked either time, staff very accommodating with prams and generally friendly service. Burgers (now just one option rather than 7!) have been excellent as have pie, fish and chips, sandwiches and deserts. Happy it’s back to the old ways of excellent food at reasonable prices. Will be back again.

Beautiful clean Pub with very friendly staff.Food recommendations were made. I chose the choice of bar snacks/ tapas. The squid was amazing, one of the best dishes I’ve ever tasted. My partner had the mushrooms followed lamb, Which was cooked beautifully. With a large wine and a pint the bill was £47. Good value for excellent food, great service and all local. Will definitely return.congratulations Thornhill you have it just right.

We are regular customers who have visited to eat most weekends over the last few years and have seen the menu change a few times over the last 6 months (we are very open to change as long as it’s good!!). Unfortunately today a few things were missing from the menu , all of which would have been my choice so I had to make do with something I didn’t really want from the menu to reflect this oversight and bad planning by the catering staff. The bar staff and waitresses have always been very polite and on this occasion apologetic but I felt the food we got for the price was mismatched and all the dishes we selected should have been under a tenner as they were basic pub grub. We will not be returning I’m afraid. Bring back the wraps, nachos and chicken breast burger!!

Eaten there for a second time taking family and it certainly didn't disappoint. Friendly efficient Staff! Great service and once again Exceptional Food! Would highly recommend.

Ate at The Thornhill today for Sunday lunch with my family. Could not fault. Food was served quickly and so fresh and tasty. Staff were lovely, one young lady in particular looked after us and made sure we were happy and had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend.

We ate here last Friday evening and the meals were delicious. Apparently, there is a fairly new chef and they are trying to go a bit upmarket. Well, they are certainly succeeding. The meal was a bit more expensive than we usually expect from a pub meal, but it was worth it. Didn't have room for dessert, but they looked gorgeous also.

Me and my brother came by here as we heard there was a new head chef creating some incredible looking food. When we arrived we were greeted with a smile and served pretty quickly. I ordered the scallops to start and they were perfectly cooked the celeriac purée was smooth and everything went together so well! For my main I had the beef, it came with a little pithivier with pulled beef inside, I could’ve eaten ten of them they were that delicious! I’ve heard people say that the beef dish isn’t big enough but we had a three course meal and it was plenty, just perfect without feeling uncomfortably full. For dessert we both chose the lemon tart, words can’t describe how amazing this dessert is. It’s like nothing you’ve ever seen before or tasted before. If I could give Dale more than 5 stars I would, he should be extremely proud of the food he is sending out and very proud of the team that he has! We will be back very soon

Always faultless service they are very attentive. The new menu is lovely lots of variety. Well worth a visit.

Visited The Thornhill yesterday with 5 work friends. Straight from walking in we were made to feel welcome by the young ladies working who I went on to find out were named Paris and Amy through having many conversations with us throughout our visit. They were very attentive and got our drinks and food order done straight away, all table service, nothing we asked was too much trouble for them. We all had mains from the main menu and everyone of us was delighted with the food we received. Presentation was outstanding and tasted out of this world. I believe there is to be a new chef there and what a job he’s done! We all left extremely happy. We will all be returning with our families would definitely recommend!

First time visiting and was not disappointed! Couldn't fault a single thing with the food, all 3 courses absolutely stunning. Something special happening here within that kitchen, will definitely be back!

Whilst staying in Salisbury we had been told about the Wyndham Arms at Dinton by someone staying in our hotel. We decided to visit what can we say the bar and restaurant was first class the food amazing and the staff go above and beyond to help you. Paul and Mary are amazing hosts will definitely return.

Decided to book the Thornhill Arms for my husbands birthday. Eaten here several times , but read new chef in situ and a new menu to boot. Arrived early and decided it would be nice to have a first drink in bar then go to table. Batman said that was fine but then proceeded in coming straight back over and taking us to the table? Anyway just a small point, but did feel staff weren’t listening, also had to give my booking name a few times as I think they forgot.

First time visit to Thornhill and I would most certainly come again. The food was delivered quickly and ideal portion sizes. Instantly you could see that a lot of detail and preparation had gone into the presentation of the food. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. Anything you needed they were always happy to help.

I visited The Thornhill with family recently and was utterly disappointed! There were hardly any of ‘pub classics’ on the menu and the rest of the food was overpriced which you would expect from a high street restaurant and not a local pub. Not good or value for money! The prices of the food were very high but I did not see the match with the restaurant/pub, I was not impressed and do not see what the fuss is about!!

The plates of food represented that of art work. And the taste was phenomenal. Will definitely be visiting again, to try all of the menu! A** from me!

There isn’t much “kerb appeal” to this pub.....stacks of rubbish piled up by the bins and at the side of an outhouse with broken windows dangerously close to a seating area. Maybe we chose the wrong items on the bar snacks menu but out of 4 choices only one was tasty. We ordered mini fish and chips which were delicious. Sausage rolls (bland and too much pastry) pigs in blankets. (Overcooked) ham croquettes (nothing special. The price is £5 each or £15 for 4 which is quite reasonable if you’re not looking to be wowed. It wasn’t a terrible experience but I wouldn’t recommend or return.

I've been to this pub a good few times over the years and always enjoyed it. We popped in for some food one evening mid week because we didn't have time to cook. We realised when we arrived that they'd changed the menu and it was a bit too expensive for us, certainly more of a birthday treat kind of place than mid week pub tea (£14-18 for a main course). The food was nice but not out of this world and the service wasn't very good....had to ask for the menu, wave at someone to take our order, ask again because no one came, wave at them for the bill etc. I don't really mind the less than good service because I find it happens all over the place and everyone has an off day but if I'm paying £18 then I'm going to be a bit more picky. Sorry! But I'll be heading elsewhere in future.

First time tasting the new head chefs food, Out of this world. Bar snacks was unreal only to then go on and taste what else he has to offer. Quality

Food was excellent we have visited twice this week. We tried the tapas style ones in Monday they were amazing and we found that 2 each filled us up. They were great value for money. On Thursday i had the lamb my partner had the duo of beef and again they were absolutelty amazing. I had cheese to finish and the portion size was massive. I will definetly recommend this place and we will definetly be visiting again. The service was also very good cannot fault the place at all.

This was our second visit since the new chef took over, and what amazing bar snacks, the chefs are really doing themselves proud, not only showcasing local Yorkshire produce, but drawing inspiration from around the globe.

I ate there last night food was excellent its good to eat in a place where they don't pile food but concentrate on putting a well balanced flavoursome dishes.

Visited with family and the food is exceptional! Great decor in the Pub. Non of us could fault any part of our visit[ maybe that the Quiz that night was quite difficult LOL] I would highly recommend to anyone.

Last time I came here with colleagues from work it was the pie and peas that attracted us. How time has changed this place. The decor is attractive, the staff welcoming and attentive and best of all the food is excellent. It certainly won't be 20 years before we come back now that we have found this little jewel.

Just had a fantastic meal here and can honestly say it was fantastic.

The scallops were to die for and I wouldn't hesitate having them every time I visit. The Cod was equally delicious and I was excited to have caviar for the first time (albeit the caviar didn't do anything for me!). The presentation of the food is top notch and could be up there with a multi-starred restaurant. Even the Portuguese wine was excellent. With so many more enticing options on the menu a return visit is on the cards very soon.

New menu at the thornhill is a winner.

I went in last month for a birthday meal, we had a table for 6 reserved on a Sunday evening. Service closes at 7 so we booked in for half 6. A couple of us had been working all day so we were delighted when the food arrived promptly and it was really well presented. 4 of our party were vegetarians, and everyone enjoyed their dish! Dessert was delicious as well. Hats off to the kitchen team

Visited The Thornhill Saturday, ordered the special cod cheeks and special sea bass for main, flavours and textures was outstanding. Can’t believe this type of food is done in a local pub, whilst offering traditional pub food along side too. This pub caters for everyone and will definitely be visiting again. Thank you Thornhill Team!

Following a recommendation that the new head chef was doing something special with the food we decided to spend a leisurely Saturday evening at The Thornhill in Calverley.

Visited with my partner about 7.30pm.

Visited the Thornhill on many occasions now with family and friends and not once been disappointed. The food is absolutely on point every time, and the presentation is beautiful. The menu accompanies everyone which is fab. Couldn’t ask for a better local pub, with fantastic food, great staff and lovely company.

Went here with friends and we were blown away by the quality of the food - the taste and presentation was second to none.Clearly Dale, the new head chef, is passionate about his craft and strives to combine flavours that compliment each other and make for a mouth-watering treat whichever of the dishes you go for - we all chose different things and everyone was delighted with their choice. On tap of all that, the staff are warm and welcoming. It's a pity I don't live nearer to the Thornhill so that I could treat myself more often!

Visited earlier this week with my girlfriend for a first visit after seeing all the good reviews about the new menu and it did not disappoint! Friendly staff and well presented, tasty food. What more can you ask for? Will definitely visit again.

I have been to the Thornhill twice now in 2 weeks. The first time to try the new starters and pub nibbles with 8 friends and yesterday to try the new main menu. I can honestly say the food has been amazing since the new head chef started. It makes it even better since it’s a cosy pub with friendly staff! I will be returning again in the near future to try something new on the menu and I cannot wait. Keep it up!

New head chef Dale has been shaking things up at The Thornhill over the last few weeks. This weekend we tried the new Sunday lunch menu.

Fue a probar el nuevo menú con un amigo, el nuevo Jefe de cocina ha hecho un trabajo brillante. La comida era hermosa, el personal era amable y el ambiente era fabuloso. Tuvimos una gran noche y me sorprendió el precio, ¡muy barato para un alto nivel de comida! Sin duda volveremos

El nuevo menú es excelente! ! ! Tuve el Gin salmón curado, que era hermoso y luego la trucha principal que estaba perfectamente preparado. Todo vino muy bien presentado y sabía aún mejor. Sin duda lo recomiendo y el servicio coincide con la comida. ¡Todos deben bajar y probar el nuevo menú! ! !

Food was absolutely amazing! We got 8 of the Yorkshire bar snacks, a sharing cheese board and puddings and everything was gorgeous. Unfortunately forgot to take pictures of the main meals as we were too busy tucking in but got some fab pics of the puddings! . The new chef and menu are brilliant! Highly recommend

He comido en el Thornhill un par de veces y ha sido genial, pero el nuevo chef ha mejorado aún más los estándares. La comida fue presentada muy bien y era fresca y llena de sabor. El plato vegetariano de remolacha y queso de cabra fue maravilloso y mi esposo realmente disfrutó su mejilla de cerdo. Estamos deseando probar más en el nuevo menú. ¡El nuevo jefe de cocina ha tenido un gran comienzo!

Siempre nos ha encantado el Thornhill para las comidas y para tomar una copa. Vimos que recientemente habían contratado a un nuevo jefe de cocina, así que, por supuesto, tuvimos que ir a probar los nuevos platos. ¿Qué más puedo decir pero increíble. Decidimos optar por los nuevos entrantes, pero ordenamos un surtido para compartir como principal. Los cerdos en mantas son para morirse. El salmón ginebra era simplemente magnífico y las papas fritas de cerdo están fuera de este mundo. No podemos esperar a volver y probar más el nuevo menú. Todo el mundo tiene que venir a probarlo. Estoy muy seguro de que no te decepcionará! !

숙소 근처에 있는 펍이라 편하게 방문해서 맥주를 마실 수 있어 좋았습니다. 가격이 엄청 싸진 않았지만 한국이랑 비슷한 가격이라 괜찮았어요.

I took my Nan here for a Saturday lunch. I had driven past a few times and liked the look of it. It's a good looking pub from the outside and similarly inside it is well kept.

Decided to re visit the thornhill arms yesterday for Sunday lunch . Have eaten here a couple of times before, but haven’t been for a while, usually can’t get in due to the problem of parking around the pub.

After finding out that we would be able to go out for tea, we knew we wouldn't get anywhere to book - but this must have been fate because we decided to go to the Thornhill Arms.

WE booked a table for 5 people for 2.30 and were shown to our table on time.

Went there a couple of times for a meal whilst staying at the local Landmark trust property. Both times was really welcoming and we got great meals. Dogs were welcome too. Would definitely go back if in the area. Smokehouse burger was my favourite but all the food was very good.

My partner and I came in for a drink after work this evening. We decided to order some food so we went up to the bar and asked for some menus. The menus arrived over 10 minutes later and the waitress who gave us them looked like she really didn’t want to be there. We waited a further 30 minutes for someone to take our order until we decided to leave and go elsewhere.

My mum and dad went here for lunch with friends for a catch up. They were meant to be going for fish and chips but the place was closed. They enjoyed mains and puddings here. Good pub grub! Fairly priced and tasty. We will be back! Thank you and keep it up

We went as a family as we have many times in the past and, whilst the food was enjoyable, the menu is very run of the mill and overpriced (you can get the same selection of steak, burgers etc at any number of local alternatives for a lot less money.

As local pubs go, this place is great. Good selection of beer and spirits, nice decor and decent atmosphere. In terms of food, I'd be inclined to avoid as the menu is average (shame as it used to be great) at best (burgers, hunters chicken etc) and seriously overpriced. 5 stars if you're after a pint, 2 stars if you'd like a decent meal.

Myself and 3 other family members ate here on 6.12.18. The meal and service were both great.

Have visited lots for drinks and occasionally food since the re-launch four years ago. Always liked it but vaping being allowed inside will deter us from further visits.

Hemos estado aquí muchas veces. Es un encantador pub tradicional con algunos toques modernos y agradables, y es uno de nuestros lugares favoritos para comer a nivel local. La última vez que fuimos fue el domingo pasado con algunos amigos. Comencé por el empanizado Brie para comenzar, seguido por el pescado y las papas fritas, todos los demás fueron por la carne.

We have been three times now for Sunday lunch. The food is really nice we have always enjoyed our meals. The service has always been really good too, would recommend.

Un grupo de cinco de nosotros visitamos el Thornhill Arms para almorzar en septiembre y como también fue una celebración de cumpleaños, habíamos reservado nuestra mesa con antelación. El pub tiene un ambiente encantador, con acogedoras áreas fuera del bar principal. Disfrutamos de sabrosos entrantes bien presentados, que incluyen el cóctel de gambas y cangrejos de río, nachos de chili y nachos de chile vegetarianos. Para el plato principal tres de nosotros tuvimos el asado del día, un scampi y papas fritas y una hamburguesa y papas fritas. La comida era buena, y el personal era amable y servicial. Desafortunadamente estábamos demasiado llenos para manejar los postres! Esta fue nuestra tercera visita y definitivamente volveremos.

So I live in Leeds and my parents in the NE (my parents are 81 and 83) ...on occasions they drive down to visit me. We use the Thornhill as it is local to me and up until today, we have had nothing but a great Sunday meal.

Habiendo escuchado cosas buenas sobre este pub, fui con un amigo a almorzar tranquilamente. La entrada desde y hacia el aparcamiento es un poco difícil, pero no es culpa del restaurante, excepto que tal vez los contenedores de ruedas podrían haber sido reubicados para que no restringieran el acceso.

My wife and I thought we would call in for a quick meal after a shopping trip to Leeds it was about 1730 on arriving we found that the disabled parking bays in the car park were the farest parking bays from the door, I should have taken this as a bad omen, as the car park was nearly empty we parked a lot nearer the entrance. there was only one family in eating so we thought it would not be too long before we would get a meal, Big mistake I ordered fish & chips my wife rump steak. After a long 45 minutes the meals arrived, my fish & chips were ok but very overpriced, my wife said the steak was like leather and was more like stewing steak with burnt onion rings and tomato, the best things on the plate were the mushroom and the chips. Overall not a good experience and we shall not be going there again

At least 15/20 minutes before a waitress came to the table and this was after already asking for a high chair on the way in. Our food order was taken and we weren’t even asked if we would like a drink. I wouldn’t mind if the place was incredibly busy but I called ahead to ensure it wasn’t. This placed seemed well versed in making a family with small children feel incredibly unwelcome.

Visited with some friends for an early evening meal. Truly, everything was just amazing. I had the salt and pepper chicken strips which were plentiful and very tasty. Followed by the steak. I’m always a bit apprehensive while ordering steaks in pubs, as there is usually some kind of problem with the process. Not here, the steak was exactly as I asked for it cooked, you can tell they use fresh produce here! the chunky chips, tomatoes and mushroom were all very nice accompaniments. The young ladies serving us were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble, really great service.All in all, fantastic evening at the thornhill and can’t wait to bring more people here. Cold starter. Waitresses who clearly don’t listen to your order. Poor quality, pre-frozen steak. If you really don’t like someone, take them here for a meal. No apologies, not even an excuse. And we were recommended here by a local. Royston Vaisey at its finest. £110 total bill. £1000 too much. Rubbish. The dogs were happy.

Sunday teatime and the pub was very busy but that should have been no excuse for the very slow service and items off the Sunday menu. If you like your food stacked high like a colapsed rugby scrum and swimming in gravy then this is the place for you.

Nice staff, very apologetic when we complained about food, however handled totally wrong especially by the chef. Not impressed. Will not be returning.

I went with my Wife, Son, Daughter-in-Law and her Mother. We went on a recommendation from two of my Children. We went for Sunday Lunch. We all had a starter and a Beef Sunday Lunch. My Son had two pints, and I had one (Driver). The Ladies had Wine. We finished with Coffee's, The Bill was £84. To some people this may seem high but all of us thought it was very good value.

Visited for lunch last Wednesday afternoon, the girls behind the bar were very friendly and polite.

I have been waiting to try this place for a while having had some positive recommendations. Two of us went on Tuesday for the 1st time and was disappointed. We shared the meze started for 2. Apart from 3 mini brushettas with halloumi on, the rest was just a plate of bread, a few olives, and 3 dips. It appeared to be £15 for a loaf of bread! My friends had the chicken fajitas for main which was nice (although nothing special and the wraps were all stuck together and breaking due to not being seperated prior to being heated up). I had Terayaki Salmon with seafood and asian veg from the specials. This was caked in a very sweet sauce so I could only eat half, and other then a tiny bit of shredded veg under the salmon there were no vegetables! I admit there was a good amount of salmon and seafood which was good quality but it was let down by sauce and veg. For 2 courses and a bottle of wine for 2 it was £68.80. This was extortionate for pub grub and definitely not worth the money. The service was slow and in the end we had to ask for our bill at the bar. Unfortunately neither of us will be returning.

Been here twice in two weeks lovely pub well decorated and the food was lovely. Staff really helpful and pleasant also do a smaller portion which is good
