Brasserie Blanc in Leeds

We fought our way through the snow to meet family for lunch. We were greeted as usual by friendly staff. There was about 16 of us so we had to pre order which roast we wanted. I had pre ordered roast pork along with two others in our family. When it arrived it was not roast pork. It was gammon joint. I was told by a stroppy waitress it was pork. Iv had Sunday roast here on many occasions it's always been lovely. Then a young guy came over and told us he would change it as it wasn't roast pork,which was super nice of him. We didn't get an explanation as to why we were given gammon. Specially as we had to preorder. The rest of the roast was great as per. The restaurant was empty but didn't matter as the staff were very attentive.

On a cold afternoon we were greeted by friendly staff The restaurant was busy and we ordered Apple & ginger spritz which were very refreshing My Burger was well cooked and tasty and my Chocolate dessert was lovely All our food was well received

Booked a table in advance and glad we did as this place was busy. All 4 starters and mains fantastic, staff friendly and helpful. Would recomended and visit again.

Dined here on new years eve . I had the venison which was nice . Mashed potato's & veg cold! My partner had trout veg & prawn potato cold , no hot plates? Mentioned to waiter didn't seem that interested? Asked for two white wines and soda came with tonic water? Mentioned to waiter oh yes we have no soda? Ambience is great just let down by cold food & poor service. I've had better meals elsewhere. Won't be going back soon. I have to add it was NY eve and very busy , maybe that was the reason don't like leaving a bad review.

Great atmosphere. The table service was excellent and out of 25 people in our group I dont think there was a single complaint. I loved my meal and after never hearing of pork rib-eye was amazed.

Disappointed as we didn't get the table we requested on arrival, it was reserved for us, but, was given to someone else with a dog. Didn't expect to see a dog in the restaurant of such high caliber, we could smell the dog which was off putting. Not hygienic! Wonderful dinning experience on 03/12/24. Pleasant staff & efficient service! We didn't feel rushed at all, it was lovely being able to eat & enjoy the company without having to stick to the time constraint. We'll done, we'll be back.

Fantastic meal to celebrate a friend's birthday. First visit, will certainly not be our last.

The food was so underwhelming, considering I'd heard great things about this place. They had run out of many items on the menu, and when my dish turned up, the dauphinoise potatoes were bone dry; the veg overcooked; the duck just about edible. There were 5 of us, and everyone had an issue with their dish. The staff tried their best, though.

Everything about our visit was top class. A great place to eat and relax. No pressure from staff to go to or leave our table. First class

UPDATE 18/11/2024 Actually my 4th visit this year. As always a warm and friendly greeting, great atmosphere (it is a gorgeous building). The staff were, as always, brilliant. The Autum menu is superb with brilliant dishes for every pallet. The prices? Same as most pubs I've visited recently. The difference? A kitchen brigade makes the good from scratch rather than freezer to microwave! Do yourself a favour and call in and enjoy! Update 7-01-2024 A perfect Sunday Lunch in fabulous surroundings with great staff both front of house and in the kitchen. I connit recommend highly enough! We have had a number of visits since last year BUT were back again for this years anniversary. Service exceptional, ambience in the restaurant and on the terrace brilliant! Food as always out of this World. Beetroot three ways heaven on a plate! 2for1 cocktails a real bonus!!!! Visited with my wife for an anniversary meal. Outstanding attentive but not intrusive service with the most delicious food, wine and cocktails abd all at a very reasonable price!

Starter of salmon was great, main had sat under the heat lamp a bit long.

We had a great night and the food was wonderful. The only criticism was that the piano music was a bit too loud and made it difficult to hear each other.

Good atmosphere and attentive service. However, I was expecting more from the food. It was good but with the Blanc name behind it, it fell short of what we expected.

This is an excellent restaurant for dog owners. We had a fantastic welcome with the staff fussing over our dog. There is a dog menu which is very funny (in my opinion pricey, but we liked the marketing effort). Noemi tried her best to accommodate my food intolerances, which required a number of back-and-forths with the kitchen. My guests enjoyed their steak frites. They had ordered a carafe of wine but I only realised after paying that they only got one (small) glass of wine each. My trout was fine. The cauliflower was mediocre but is not standard on the menu, so I expect that it tastes better with the restaurant's regular sauce. As a French national used to cooking, I would not have expected that it required much creativity to pull out a tasty vegetable without garlic and onion. However, with such a welcoming and helpful front of house team, it was still a very good experience.

My first visit here and I cannot fault it. The food was outstanding. A great venue and lovely staff. I will definitely be back soon

What a beautiful place, by the river. And the food, it was exquisite! I am vegan and I absolutely loved the vegan options. They brought me a beetroot jelly, a risotto and ice cream. Great place, looking forward to find another excuse to come!

Lovely meal with friends of very long standing that had never been before.

To start with we had to ask to order drinks 15 minutes after being seated, the drinks took a further 20 minutes to arrive, this was the theme of the evening, Service was very slow. The food was at the standard expected, not Wow, but good. This is the 2nd time we have visited for a special occasion, many years apart and both have been not up to the hype / expectation.

Wow, what can I say. We arrived in an overwhelmingly large group, worried we wouldn’t be seated but Noemi managed to sit us down in time for the final orders of their Sunday lunch menu. The service and attention to detail from Noemi was immaculate, she catered for our fussy children and was quick to fulfil requests for extras / sides / drinks and more. I was continuously blown away by her kind efforts. The pork and the beef both delicious and I would highly recommend the pistachio soufflé for desert, it’s to die for. Thank you again Noemi :)

Still my go to restaurant, 77th birthday yesterday and a wonderful meal from the new Autumn menu, although I had to have my favourite starter Cheese Soufflé

Excellent food and service. Always a solid choice for dinner.

Family meetings are usually mid-week or very occasionally Saturdays but for once it was a Sunday lunch visit. We were a few minutes early - so able to have a drink before moving to the table - which was a little slower process than expected. Only one starter was chosen - the Boquerones - which I was told were very good. The 'mains' were the traditional roast beef and where I had not thought to mention that I like it more grey than pink but it was lovely tender meat, well rested - so no complaint and together with the vegetables, plus a large, proper' yorkshire', it was a generous plateful. My guest went for the duck and enthused about it. Had there been enough time to allow the 'mains' to settle before needing to head off, we might have gone for a dessert but a good time gap, more than we could spare, would have been needed. Drinks were non-alcoholic cocktail for the guest and house red for me - to go with the beef. The wine options were a glass (170ml) half carafe (375ml - good to share) or bottle. As driving, I had to settle for the glass - as 375ml too much - but would have preferred 250ml. The staff were those we had met on previous visits - so quite happy with them and the gratuity. We will happily be back - especially as I noted that well behaved dogs are allowed and ours loves eating out.

Aug 2024 My wife and I take a date night/ day each month as we have a hectic life with work and 7 year old little girl. Yesterday we wanted to travel up to leeds from Derby to enjoy a Virgin holiday gift voucher that, I bought for my wife for Xmas. The start of our experience and Brasserie Blanc Leeds, was as expected good. Helpful as my wife is Gluten and dairy intolerant. (Unfortunately not loads on the menu for choice, however ran through the options). THATS when our experience and day got RUINED! The waiter came across and asked how the meal was, I had mentioned that mine wasn't great (king prawns) however had eaten it as l was starving (I had been up since 3am and had a yogurt, whilst traveling). The prawns were over cooked and dry and the main was under seasoned. The assistant manager Josh came over and asked also, I mentioned it to him and said I don't want to complain it's just my personal opinion and my wife's was like a watery broth that also lacked flavour. Response was excuses instead of trying to help. I had made a comment that Greggs would have more flavour. After 30 minutes no one came over to take our deserts order. Josh made every effort not to come over to us. Which we got up and left and gave Josh the voucher. As we were leaving a lady did come out to apologise and Josh stood at the door. l asked why he didn't come over and said I thought you had been served as the menus were not in the table, I mentioned you had been serving us this afternoon and knew I didn't enjoy my main meal. More excuses came out. God awful customer service! As we were walking away Josh made a flippant remark "enjoy your Greggs!" This is shameful and uncalled for! Appalling behaviour that I wouldn't expect!

Do yourself a favour, come here and try the Morteau sausage, terrific ! Mind you everything is terrific. We visit this restaurant exclusively whenever we are in Leeds.

First time for me and my husband, went with friends who had been before. Have to say lovely experience all round. Our server was a lovely French lady and she gets 10 stars 🌟. Food was also good and wine reasonably priced and very nice. Will defo visit again. Well done Brasserie Blanc 👏

Good but not as good as my last visit. The fish soup was nice, but a langustine head with no tail was a little disappointing. Pistachio souffle for dessert was lovely and the chocolate ice cream to accompany was fantastic.

Visited for my daughter’s 18th birthday and all the staff made our celebration really special. From the welcome complimentary presseco for our table to the attention to detail and warm atmosphere. All our meals were to a high quality, perfect portion size from a wide ranging menu, something for everyone. Wine reasonably priced, full and extensive options for all budgets. Barry is a fabulous waiter, attentive and friendly; making our family celebration a great day.

What an amazing venue! We ate the sunday lunch and we couldn't find one fault. The beef was so tender! The service really was outstanding and the food and drink recommendations were spot on. We were lucky to eat alfresco and sit out by the canal! The interior is stunning too though! We already can’t wait to return to try the a la carte menu! Thanks to the team!

Pleasant welcome from staff - had a crèmant de Loire and a pint of Landlord which we refreshing. We had decided on chateau briand seeing as it was Wednesday and a welcoming complimentary bottle of red to go with it. The meat was melt in the mouth, the fries were tasty as was the salad with a great dressing. 3 sauces came with it and were a surprisingly good addition. We finished sharing a cheesecake with vanilla ice cream - yummy 😋 very good service mention to Baz. Will be back.

Spotted the brasserie while I was exploring along the canal and thought I would give it a try even though I had dinner plans. The service was good and friendly. I ordered the fish soup which was tasty. I'll definitely be coming back to try the other items on menu. Update: went back and had a 3 course meal. They didn't disappoint. Service was great and so was the food. For dessert they had a raspberry souffle which was really nice.

We tried the lunch menu, the cucumber gazpacho was nice and refreshing. The fish cake had a balanced seafood flavour. When it comes to mains (we waited quite a bit) the smoked pork was soft and full of flavour. The steak was more of a mediocre dish, but overall quite good for the price. The terrace had a nice atmosphere, just a little speaker with some ambience music would be perfect. Zack was really lovely and when we ordered aperol he let us know about the 2 for 1 offer so we ended having some g&ts too. We will be back soon to try other dishes!

Jujujuju is delicious. It is the best meal I have had during my 5-day trip to the UK. I can’t figure out why it is so delicious. Every dish was eaten by me and my classmates as soon as it was served. wonderful!

Fantabulous. Service was top notch, food was good and so was the venue. You eat out to be taken care of and have a great time - the lovely humans at Brasserie Blanc were amazing, worked well together, and exuded confident riz. Pay rises all around please, and see you next time we're in Leeds.

Great service and lovely location that is tucked away by the water. Menu is European with some french dishes on the menu. Excellent house wine that is good value with a money off voucher. Will definitely be visiting again.

Despite there being lots of good places to eat in Leeds, we continue to return here and it never disappoints. We've been many times and the food is always excellent, the staff and friendly and the prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. Highly recommended

Brasserie Blanc is always amazing. Great ambiance. The food is wonderful and the menu is quite varied. On this occasion, we met the manager Noemi, who is super friendly and knowledgeable, and gave us a lot of advice and just spent time having a chat with us about all manner of things. We were sitting at the bar. There isn't much that could have topped our experience for a nice time out. We've been here a number of times before, and now that I've found out the restaurant has dog-friendly sections, and even offers special dog food and drinks (pre-prepped and packaged by an external company), we will definitely keep coming back here more and more.

A convenient location just a short stroll from the station in quiet side road. The service at BB is second to none being friendly, attentive but not obtrusive. The food was mainly French themed but with good use of top in season English produce like Devon crab and Yorkshire rhubarb. We couldn’t fault the flavours in starters , mains or desserts and the wine was equally well chosen … In brief a delightful meal and we shall soon return!

Would be a 5 but the rather unsubtle pushing of a service charge for a separate drinks bill brings it down for me. Happy to pay service charges to be clear but this was s bit pushy.

Simply superb. Excellent and efficient service, amazing food. The Chateaubriand was one of the best we’ve had. A great wine selection and an amazing atmosphere. We went at a quiet time of the day for lunch and it was a good choice for us. There is an outside seating area for nice weather and a large bar if it gets busy. 100% returning.

We went for dinner with friends and family after getting married. The atmosphere, food and service were great. It's a really nice restaurant and I would recommend visiting. Unfortunately I can't give a 5 star review. While everything was nice and good when I went to pay the bill the service person failed to mention a discretionary 10% service charge that will be applied to the bill and that upon request it can be removed from the bill. I only find out about it after paying the bill since it was written at the bottom of the bill receipt.

I’ve been here twice - once for a staff Christmas do and once with my partner and his family. Both times I had the goats cheese tart for starter and OMG it’s amazing!! I also had the trout as a main and it was great. Second time I had the mussels for main and it was quite disappointing as many of them were closed. Service is always efficient and friendly. Lovely atmosphere! Also the French waitress/hostess was super welcoming and kind, give her a raise!!

This place is brilliant, everytime I come it never disappoints from the food and service its all brilliant. The cheese soufflé is so nice and the roast beef dinner is brilliant. I tend to avoid roast beef in a lot of places as disappointed but here I always choose it.

A lovely relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and beautiful food. My friend and I visited with a Virgin Experience voucher where, yes, you receive a limited menu, but the food is delicious and there is even an option to use the full a la carte menu and use the Virgin Experience voucher as more of a gift voucher. Definitely recommend and would love to visit again.

A wonderful meal at Brasserie Blanc in Leeds. Delicious cheese soufflé, fillet steak and rhubarb crumble. Everyone praised the food and the great service which was just the right level of engagement - not too little, not too much. The restaurant is very well laid out with ample space, and service was quick albeit on a Wednesday evening which was naturally quieter. Would thoroughly recommend.

Went to Brasserie Blanc in Leeds for Sunday lunch. What a delight. Haven't been for Sunday lunch for a while. We were not disappointed. The ham hock terrine for starter's was so flavoursome. The delicious bread with a drizzle of oil was just the right amount on the side. I had the roast beef & yorkshire puds. The beef was so tender, possibly the best I've ever had. Anywhere! My husband had the pork, which he said was delicious. The seasonal veg with caramelised onions was fabulous. With plenty of gravy & roast potatoes. Followed by cheesecake for my husband & truffles & coffee for me. A nice glass of malbec completed our meal The staff as usual were very attentive, friendly, chatty & very well informed about the food. Big shout out to Josh & his team, very hard workers, but always with a smile. Lovely Sunday lunch. Thank you
