Wonderful bakers. Fresh and delicious food that is well priced. Appreciate I have travelled from London where everything is extortionate!

I was purchasing a few items when I asked if a scone could be buttered. I was told it would be 40p extra, then I was barked at for asking why so much? I left without buying anything. So rude.

They say they're an 'award-winning' bakery but don't say who gave them the gong. Very decent wholemeal bread and iced fingers…

Decided to visit Richmond for a change. I prefer to buy local and went into this baker. I bought 2 scamps which are like a rockbun mixture. Plus a pork and black pudding sausage roll. So tea was sausage roll and the cake. The best sausage roll have tasted and the scamp was lovely and soft with loads of dried fruit. Excellent all round

Not sure if this was the norm but our pasties and tarts were all cold. Sorry I would rather have warm greggs than these. At £12 ish for four I was expecting better.

Was surprised as to sandwich choices on offer; unfortunately all premade; ham and egg salad, prawn and egg, cheese savoury. Nothing like plain cheese. Bread roll for sandwich was a bit tough would have liked a soft roll.

We visited the shop yesterday after seeing people queuing out the door - always a good sign. Staff were friendly and patient while we made our choices. We had the corn beef slices and pork pies. Oh my word they were delicious, they didn't make it to the car and tat was parked near. And so reasonably prices and competitive compared to chains. Give me an independent any day!

The Pies and bread were excellent. We stopped in just to get a loaf of bread and ended up with a bag of delicious goodies and stopped along the road to Barnard Castle for a picnic to eat them. Excellent

We stopped off here to grab a picnic and we wanted a change from sandwiches. The pies and cakes stood us in good stead for the long and winding road to Ingleby Cross

We stopped in the first time while exploring Richmond on a sunny day, lured in by the fresh-baked sausage rolls (enjoyed at the nearby park as a picnic lunch) and fresh-baked cheese scones (that somehow made it home to be enjoyed with clotted cream & raspberry jam for breakfasts). If we had this bakery back home, I'd be joining Jenny Craig's weight loss clinics! Today I purchased more sausage rolls, along with some chocolate & graham crust squares that beckoned to me (cheaper if you purchase in lots of 4, so of course I.....) Anyways, in the cottage now with a coffee & square, typing one-handed. Enjoy.

My first stay in Richmond in Sept 2013 was one punctuated by a distinct lack of funds. Trying to stay alive while still having enough energy to enjoy the sights required a fair amount of detective work.Thomas the Baker provided a suitable solution to dietary requirements(on a budget). Great fresh bread and a good choice of tasty snacks. We'll be back next year 2019 when attempting the Coast to Coast. Thoroughly recommended establishment.I think they have a couple of other branches.

Eight of us had lunch here twice this week. We were so impressed by the charming, friendly staff (front counter and kitchen), the welcoming atmosphere the excellent beer and the lovely food. Most of all it was the people woking there, that brought us back 48 hours later. Nothing was too much trouble. When we presented our own GF bread for one of our party, they insisted, despite my protestations, on reducing the price of the sandwich ordered. We had a whip round for a tip at the end of lunch (the four couples had all paid separately) and when I put this on the counter and said thank you, the young lady came through to the room where we were putting on our coats looking bewildered and said 'but you've already paid?' I don't know if it's family run or not but whoever owns it should be immensely proud of their staff.

A very quiet pub when we went in, real ales were great and kept well. I did find out this pub is up for sale so maybe that is why the atmosphere was a bit lacklustre.

CHEESEEEE GROMIT! We watched the cheese making presentation then spent £50 on cheese. What's not to love?
