The bread was so tasty and it brings back the taste of my home ♥️ It’s the lovey place that I would recommend to buy breakfasts or bread for breakfast.

Great priced food and really nice too eat. Just the organisation of staff could be better, they seemed to be falling all over each other in the back trying to serve people. We had one server, who wasn't very approachable and kept just moving to confuse My elderly grandparents who was placing the order for us.

Every time we are in Yorkshire we would look out for curd tarts and went into Thomas' in the afternoon when most of the shelves were empty. Managed to get the last small curd tart (customer just in front of me had bagged the last large one :((). Considering it was kinda towards the end of the day, the pastry was still very nice and crisp & the tart was deep & well filled. Shame there was only one! Will have to make earlier purchases in future!

Very nice bakery which does excellent sandwiches and other takeaway hot and cold food and drinks. Also sells very nice bread and buns etc. Very nice staff and it is situated facing the market place. The company has other shops in lots of North Yorkshire towns all of a good standard.

This is another branch of this company selling delicious bread. I can recommend the Wholemeal loaves! The cakes looked delicious, if somewhat big. We never buy shop made cakes as my wife bakes her own, so I cannot comment on their taste!

Totally addicted to Donker Bread a dark rye bread covered in sesame seeds. On a couple of occasions they had sold out but obligingly took dough out of the freezer and cooked it for me to collect in 20 minutes. It doesn't get chance to go stale and it is so delicious even just buttered. Thank you to the girls behind the counter.

Father-in-law in Harrogate Hospital and searching for a treat I stopped in to Thomas the Baker and was delighted with the selection of tasty goodies. I bought a pack of almond tartlets for the invalid, and two well-filled sandwiches which my husband and I consumed while sitting in the Market Square watching the world go by. This is the place to go for sandwiches and cakes. All fresh, well prepared and served with a smile. We will be back!

You cant beat the cheese straws for value and flavour also the sausage rolls are very good when warm. The vanilla slices are the best in Ripon!

Eccles cakes. Best I've had away from the actual village of Eccles. But best get them early in the day - they sell out fast. Quite a range of takeaway baked goods. I've traded at Thomas in Ripon (mostly) and in York - always nice quality and wide variety though a bit limited toward day's end.

I often go here and purchase cheese scones and strawberry tart. The cheese scones are always nice and fresh and the cream in the strawberry tart nice and creamy and fresh. All items are baked on that day. Highly recommend

OMG!! My husband and I bought 2 chicken and stuffing rolls and 2 eccles cakes and not only were we bowled over by the cost (SO CHEAP) but the eccles cakes were the best we had ever tasted. Sadly we come from down south so don't have the chain near us :( would be happy to travel back to Yorkshire each month to stock up!!

We stopped off at Ripon and Thomas the Bakers to buy some sandwiches for lunch as we were walking in the area. Great selection of freshly made rolls and sandwiches as well as cakes and pastries. All very tempting. Good quick service and value is good to. Located just off the Market Place and plenty of car parking within a few minutes walk.

Stayed here on our way home to the West Country we stay almost every year. And this year was just as good as previous years. This year we stayed in house opposite the room I believe was called Braxton? It had a shower over the bath and a nice sized bathroom. The bed was huge and very comfortable, there ware extra pillows/blankets etc in a wardrobe if needed. There was kettle and cafetière with coffee bags. The breakfast the next morning was all cooked to order and great poached eggs. I would highly recommend this hotel and will be staying there again next year. :-)))))

Gluten free review for the cafe: I visited the Druid’s Temple today and went to the cafe for lunch afterwards. Gluten free cakes and sandwiches were available. I had an ultimate hot chocolate and a trout and cream cheese sandwich (GF bread), and I’m sad to say that neither were very flavourful. The hot chocolate was weak and watery, and the sandwich was very dry. It’s a shame because the setting is so beautiful! A word to cross contamination, I have reacted to the food that I had, so I suspect that the chopping board used for my sandwich may not have been cleaned down before preparing my food (or similar). There was also a gluten free chocolate brownie which was in the same cabinet next to gluten containing cakes, with tongs that customers could use to select their own cakes, but no separate gluten free pair. If anyone from the cafe happens to read this, from coeliacs and gluten free people everywhere please could you make sure that cross contamination risk is limited through simple measures such as cleaning down a surface before making gluten free food (we don’t mind waiting a bit longer for piece of mind!), and that GF cakes and sweet treats are kept separate and using separate tongs etc? When we find places that don’t gluten us we share it heavily in the community!

Where do I start.. venue is beautiful and looks amazing! Forhat was our waiter and he was always checking our food and drinks were ok and could not do more for us! The espresso martinis were the best we have both ever had and food exceeded expectations! Overall an amazing experience and we will definitely be revisiting!
