One of the best roasts I’ve ever had. Really good service, a special thank you to our waiter who was great. This was a family dinner after the half marathon and it was so special. 10/10 would recommend!

As a fan and someone who often goes to the Cubbitt, I was deeply disappointed by the complete lack of service. Staff seemed to be on the rare and endangered list. What should have been an hour lunch was double that.

Good quality food but service was a bit hit & miss. Perhaps some inexperienced staff just couldn’t cope with lunchtime traffic. Would recommend.

Absolutely appalling. Far far far too many people jammed into a finite space does not make for a pleasant meal. The poor staff were doing their best but they were massively overwhelmed. Whoever manages this joint needs a lesson in what makes a good restaurant; recreating the noise levels of a kids’ soft play area is absolutely not the way to do it. Fwiw, we left after the starter.

Food was delicious. Service was a little slow though. Good atmosphere. It’s a lovely pub.

The people who Work there, hate theire job. You Get no atention.!It takes forever to order. Added to a cheese plate was brown oion ( left overs from finner?). Service charge 23pounds

I booked on the day for their set menu but when I arrived, it was not available. It was disappointing and they need to update the OpenTable booking options. The meal was okay. We had the pork fillet, which had different levels of toughness. The sides were delicious. The burger was okay but had an odd aftertaste. Service was good. They are dog-friendly, which is great. And did bring a water bowl without being asked to.

Had a Sunday Roast and it was absolutely fine, but in all honesty, probably not as special as they seem to think it is. The beef and the gravy were beautiful but it was accompanied by only one vegetable (cabbage), some very underwhelming (hard) roast potatoes and served at a fairly lukewarm temperature. Overall fine, but when you pay £85 for a Sunday Roast for 2, with no desert and only 1 small beer, you kind of expect a little bit more. Service was very good though.

Too loud and too expensive. We were constantly bumped into by other people standing around the bar and the service was very patchy. We had to ask several times for menus and to order.

Superb for a get-together when you don’t need to worry about trying to catch your server’s eye; they were right there when we needed. Food was prompt, hot and super tasty proving great produce. Highly recommend

Even though we were in the back room, the level of noise and acoustics was just too high for us to have comfortable conversations. This meant that people only really spoke to those immediately either side of them. Everything else was amazing but the above would stop me coming back, unless just for a very small group. I am sure simple acoustic measure could transform the atmosphere.

The Sunday Roast definitely one of the best I've had. Choose the roast beef which they normally do rare to medium however had no issue with my well done request. Had the cheesecake for dessert and was very good. Overall the portions were perfect. It was a birthday lunch and had we mentioned it in the booking they would have given the celebrant, me a free dessert with a greeting. Will remember for next time. Our waitor was also lovely, forget his name but so attentive

It took 2 hours between being seated and getting our food. Staff was friendly and food was good but this is just way too long. You would expect apologies and get at least a little snack like crisps or bread on the house whilst waiting.

We went for Sunday dinner and only seating open with reservation was right near the bar. Very noisy and not enough servers. They forgot my Yorkshire pudding. Food pretty good, but would not go back.

The Thomas Cubitt is a nice gastro pub with plenty of atmosphere. We were a table of 5 and (despite being busy when we arrived) the service was impeccable. Food choices may be a bit limited for some diners, but that enables the restaurant to concentrate on specific dishes and ensure good quality is maintained. It’s slightly expensive compared to some other similar pub restaurants, however, this was a special occasion so we didn’t mind ‘splashing out’ a bit.

Friendly and flexible table service from all the Staff. Enjoyable meal and lively ambiance seated in the bar area! Shame I left my umbrella behind!

We were visiting London from the US and stumbled upon The Thomas Cubitt. In our four days in London it was the best restaurant we went to. The service was fantastic and friendly. Everything was fresh and so delicious. Our table had the roasted chicken (best I have ever had) and steak. The beers and wine list were perfect. And, for families, we had an 8 and 12 year old and they were very comfortable. Great staff and food. Highly recommend!

Second time here and still enjoyable. Friendly service, fun atmosphere in a great location with decent food options. I had the haddock & chips which was cooked perfectly. Portion was too big but I would still order it again.

We were ‘unwelcomed’ to the restaurant, by a waiter who clearly thought he was doing us a favour by showing us to the table. Thankfully the waiter, who actually served us food and drinks, was much more friendly and pleasant. The food was just ok. The lamb was rather salty. The wine was very, very overpriced. I appreciate this is Belgravia but this bar/restaurant is way over priced. I. Relation to the service - the wine you pour yourself, the main dishes came before the starter dishes were cleared! All in all the service was pretty poor. An automatic service charge of 15% is applied to the bill. I personally think 10% is enough, and only if you have had good service, which this was not!! This was explained to the ‘unwelcoming’ waiter who clearly couldn’t care less. Not an experience I would choose to repeat. I am sure there must be much nicer places to eat in Belgravia.

The Thomas Cubitt is more than a neighborhood pub, it has delicious food and wonderful service. Our waitress Skye took great care of us, and we loved the ambience and bubbling energy. The Sunday chicken roast and salmon were perfect, and the traditional English potatoes & gravy were out of this world! We’ll definitely be back.

We got four free gin and tonics due to the bank holidays so that was well worth it. Roast was lovely only downside was the waiter kind of forced bottled water on us but otherwise great service and lovely food

Very good Sunday lunch although only cabbage and potatoes included so you pay more for extras.

Our waitress was nice but the service wasn't very good. Dishes put down on the table with no order and wrong place. My jeans were also soaked with tonic water as she spilled the bottle on the table accidentally. It was quite busy and she had a lot to do, so was a bit overwhelmed by the work. In the restaurant the nice wood table are cleaned with a disinfectant which leaves the table very very sticky. The varnish on the wood is nearly all gone from using this product, not the right product for wood The manager gave us a napkin to put under our plates, which was an improvement. So, not a very good dining experience. A shame as the food was great.

I’m not sure why but my experience at the lovely venue is always mixed!! Service inattentive and slow; the food was over cooked and under seasoned - I had the Pork (so dry) with apple slaw and we squid and baby potatoes done bravas style (squid overcooked). Oysters great, beef carpaccio excellent!! Sourdough bread for some reason was toasted and dry and the butter was rock hard. It’s such a shame because it’s a great location and despite what I said about the service, the staff are really friendly. When asked about the food and I provide my feedback - please note the pork was virtually untouched. No response and no management come over to express concern. It’s a really shame will be unlikely to return to eat but will show up for drinks - can’t really mess that up!! To add insult to injury this meal for two was not far short of £200!!

We had a family gathering with little ones and the services from Bayden couldn’t have been better. Food was also amazing as usual.

Been here a few times for drinks and it is fine. Expensive but it is Belgravia. Three of us had carpaccio to start - what turned up for each of us up were four slabs of raw meat that were more like small steaks than carpaccio. One of us had monk fish as a main and that was very dry. The waitress was very good and to be fair to the place they did not charge for the alleged carpaccio but how a premium gastro pub can get it so wrong was astonishing.

Amazing dinner at the Thomas Cubitt. We loved the food which was delicious and a special thank you goes to Bayden who was very attentive and highly professional. It was excellent service and we will be returning!

Poor and extremly slow service. Online menu is completely different from the offered in the pub. Ordered plates do not correspond to what is stated in the menu.

First time here and all seven of us thoroughly enjoyed everything that we had to eat. Excellent food and a really interesting menu too. Great place !

Service was slow and not overly attentive, perhaps a shift change as we lost our initial server and the new one did not seem to know we were part of their scope

Food gone downhill....chewy and gritty. The big showstopper were the mice running around!

Awful experience, the waiter asked if we had any allergy or intolerance and I clearly said that I am intolerant to gluten, garlic and onions and we ordered. The waiter then came back to our table stating that everything we ordered was absolutely fine for my intolerances and advised not to order beer as they didn’t have gluten free beer…I didn’t order beer in the first place but wine…when the starters came, the chicken liver parfait was full of garlic and onions…I asked to see the manager to explain…had to ask 5 times and the manager wasn’t showing up…then the main courses came…they removed all the sauces and condiments from all the main courses (for the entire party…) so basically we had a grilled burger and 2 grilled pieces of fish with nothing, not even oil or salt. This was given to everyone at the table regardless of whether they had intolerances or not. I sent my food back and finally the manager showed up apologising for the mess and for the rudeness of the waiters (one of them at my 5th complaint told me I was about to insult him…I asked if I had actually been rude with him or if I had insulted him and he said NO, but I know that you are about to insult me…I congratulated him for his mind reading abilities…). Overall a terrible experience in a pub where to have a proper meal one has to pay 70 GBP plus, which is the price of a proper restaurant with proper service.

Held a client dinner at The Thomas Cubitt and was not disappointed - friendly service, delicious food and free flowing drinks! Special mention goes to Michael our server who was knowledgeable and a great host!

A last minute booking and we got my favourite table in the corner by the front. The waiter was great; polite, attentive without being over familiar and happy! A lovely meal on a Sunday evening.

Great Atmosphere to dine and catch the football euros final last night. The last minute booking was beyond expectations. Surprised a friend for his birthday next week Tuesday. The lemon poppy Madeline’s cheered him up with the way the game was going. All 3 of us had the beef Sunday roast. Meat 10/10. Potatoes delicious but could have been a tad warmer and crispier. ( personal taste ). Eton mess desert fab. Pistachio cake yum. A lovely Sunday meal. Would recommend. Great service from our waiter on the night too :)

Went for Sunday lunch. Food was very slow - starters came quickly but waited almost 1 hr for mains and when they arrived the food was lukewarm warm. It would have been nice if it had been piping hot but definitely not the best Sunday lunch in town. Waiter was very apologetic and offered drinks on the house.

Got rid of the vegetarian Sunday Roast option which was very disappointing, also the only vegetarian food option left on the menu was a very heavy aubergine parmigiana.

Food is OK but expensive We were kicked out at 22:55 Waiter kept serving us huge glasses of wine and spilling it so that we would have to order another bottle for everyone to have a glass. We ended up serving ourselves to avoid that.

Food was slightly overcooked, wine was slightly underchilled, and the seating was very cramped, so not especially good value.

Our occasion was simply dinner with friends - 6 of us. I had been to The Thomas Cubitt many years ago and I had fond memories. Located in London’s Belgravia, it’s basically a posh pub that serves very good food. Belgravia is special and the pub does not disappoint. It is not cheap… but where is in this day and age? The only slight downside was the temperature inside the venue. It was a warm night and we sweltered a bit. Tables outside have a max of four diners so we were stuffed!

Uncomfortable situation with hostess and to get pushed to order food as soon as you arrive.

The Sunday lunch comes only with potatoes and kale. It would be nice if carrots, parsnips etc were included.

We had a group of thirteen, including a 4 year-old. The reservation process was easy. They put us at a table in the back so we were secluded and could converse with no problem. The server was attentive and kind. We all ordered off the Sunday roast menu, and no one was disappointed! We could not have had a better experience.

They add 15% service charge for low standard service.

Excellent food with nothing on the menu we would not eat. Staff were knowledgeable about the food and wine and served with a genuine smile and sense of warm humour. Service marked down as we struggled to get staff attention to order dessert which became a topic of table frustration. Atmosphere as expected was vibrant but the table of 6 beside us were so painfully loud it overshadowed what was meant to be a pub meal for 4. To that extent it is much much more a lively pub than a bistro - so if you want a gregarious evening with great food this is the spot. If however you want table conversation from your own table I'd go elsewhere.

Unfortunately, our server was not very friendly and got upset as we didn't want to order straight away. We met friends and were enjoying our evening, the restaurant was not full and we were taking our time however he wanted us to pay after drinks even though we had opened a tab and ordered a bottle of fizz. Lots of items sold out and then when we did order, other items also sold out so very disappointing.

Wonderful experience on a precious street in Belgravia. Warm service and excellent food and drinks. Definitely try the haddock and chips, the mussels and the burrata app were great as well.

Such a lovely place to eat, we were able to sit outside and were very well looked after for an early dinner last night. Food was delicious and the service was excellent. Special thanks to our lovely waiter Gerard for his wonderful service and fun. a special occasion catching up with some friends from the USA who I've not seen for 25 years and it was a lovely evening, thank you for looking after us.

An excellent lunch., good food and drink backed up with good service. Double espressos could have been hotter but this is a regular problem for many restaurants.

I really dislike to write a negative review especially about an establishment I've visited many times. I'm so sorry TC but your prices are laughable for the quality. Warm wine served(expensive of course), teeny glass for the aperol and the battered haddock, well, I could have made a lethal weapon out of it. It was so dry with the thickest, hard batter, barely any fish. And really??? A tablespoon of mushy peas? It just made you look mean minded. I was so very dissapointed as I took a very good friend along who I wanted to have a special time with. Then the final insult was I felt robbed blind when the extortionate bill arrived.

Some friends and I had dinner at Thomas Cubitt last Monday. We were all very disappointed by the quality of the food. It was badly cooked, the hamburgers were blackened and tasteless, fires were dry and didn’t look fresh and the house salad was strongly oversalted. Wine selection was ok. For a pub positioning itself as an upgraded gastro venue in an upmarket location, the overall experience was very poor.

There were very few starters available when we sat down at 8pm including no bread! So we skipped and went to mains 2 or 3 of which were also not available which was disappointing. And it is very loud inside but we didn’t let it spoil our evening. Hopefully we’ll have better luck with the food next time.

The restaurant was very noisy this time. The felafel were hard as bullets, they were deducted from the bill (thank you). Chicken liver parfait delicious

Our meal was completely ruined by 4 people smoking cigars for the entire afternoon. All the doors to the street were open, so customers inside and outside were impacted. The only safe place was the back of the restaurant.

Service was abysmal. We had to chase to get our food. Food was delivered to the wrong table. We got our mains about 1 hour 45 min after we ordered.

I walked into the restaurant and asked a guy at the front desk for table. He said there was no availability. For some reason I thought I would just double check and then looked on open table and there was a table available. So lied. The kids menu really wasn’t suitable and we chased numerous times to order and waiting times for food too. Much better a few years ago then today

On a rainy day after the Chelsea Flower Show the TC was a fabulous place to shelter with excellent food - i had monkfish - and plenty to drink.

We return here every year when we go to Chelsea Flower Show as the food is always excellent and the service very friendly.

Always a great buzz, but food unfortunately was very average. Acknowledged by staff and reduced from bill.

Underwhelming. As a relatively frequent visitor over the years, a very expensive evening with OK food, fairly chaotic service and where the wine list pretty much starts at £65 and up, up, up with a couple of exceptions of very average wine. Can't really decide if it is a pub, casual dining place with high end restaurant prices. Maybe it doesn't matter in their neighborhood but IO won't be rushing back.

Great restaurant/pub. Terrific food, lovely spot, good service and excellent if pricey wine. All a bit on the expensive side but worth it overall and the puddings were exceptional.

Seem short staffed and a bit disorganized. Tough to get the bill and then had to go inside to find a working till (at the bar) to pay it.

The service was amazing the food was really delicious. We had our table upstairs next to the fireplace. It was a replay good spot. After our food we went downstairs for last drinks, it was to noisy really loud.

Lovely friendly staff. Waitress was lovely but didn’t come back during the meal to take any further drinks orders. Food was not great. Steak very chewy. Lamb was soft and tender( a lot of fat) but not much flavour. Overall atmosphere is very lively and lovely friendly staff. So the food was overpriced given the quality of the actual food ( not a good cut for steak given the price ) and not much flavour. However, I can only speak for the lamb and steak. I’m aware that it was a new menu so maybe teething problems? Acoustics makes it hard to hear and it got very loud.. For younger people it’s fine but for older people or those with hearing aids -too difficult to hear. Maybe one or two fewer tables in the upstairs dinning room would help and leave downstairs as more lively.

The light larger (Freedom?) was flat. At the time of booking (1 month prior), we requested a table downstairs, but we were forced to take one upstairs on the day.

Enjoyable Sunday evening. Great neighborhood pub in the heart of one of the finest neighborhoods in London. Food, service and beverages were are part of a pleasant evening.

The food was very tasty, but the portions were very small. The restaurant was too crowded and we were very, very close to the next table which made the eating experience uncomfortable. The restaurant was also extremely noisy with too much loud noise from diners. On a big table the people had to shout to make themselves heard by people sitting at the other end of the table

A great place to spend time with friends. Excellent service, good food, drink and atmosphere. Not the cheapest place to eat and drink but you get what you pay for.

Sunday lunch just wasn’t as good as it should have been. The pub has a great reputation. Service was excellent and we should have asked to be seated downstairs in the pub vs. upstairs in the dining room, so rookie mistake (and therefore not part of this review) . The food just wasn’t good enough. There was lots of it but the roasties were tough and cold in centre, the gravy watery and a bit tasteless, the beef was tough. As well my roast parsnip was ‘al denté’…that is not cooked. The cauliflower cheese however was a triumph and the roast chicken was pretty good…but not enough to carry the day. With so much choice in London, and for what it costs, we probably won’t be back. Which is a shame as we were really looking forward to it. ☹️

I was celebrating an event, and they went out of their way to get me the exact table I requested during a business Saturday dinner seating. The attentiveness was just short of Michelin Star. Thank you TC.
