I have been to Settle many, many times and only just found this hidden gem. On the Main Street (Duke street) tucked between two shops is this friendly and reasonably priced cosy bar. First of all told me I was too young to drink here bearing in mind I’m 18 and have id to prove so when asked for, then was told me and my mates were ‘too young’ and ‘it’s not your type of scene please leave’. Wouldn’t expect this as we all grew up in settle and that’s how we’re being treated by a local pub!

Turned up this bar just before ten pm. It had the closed sign on the door. But we noticed quite a few people drinking in there. A guy walked in just before us and was having a drink pulled by the bar man so we asked if we could have a drink only to be told they were closed even though on the Web site it says there open till eleven pm local bar for local people. Obviously they don't need tourism when it suits. Disappointed.

Was being show the Settle village by friends. Approched the pub on a weds night and the door was propped open. Stood at the doorway ready to go in and the barman rushed up to us... told us we had too many dogs and closed the door in our faces and walked away. Now I don't mind being told we might have too many dogs... but having the door literally closed in your face is the height of rudeness... for the hospitality sector that has suffered so much over the last 18 months I find it unacceptable. I will not bother coming back to your establishment and will spend my money in the 'bigger pubs' as you rudely suggested. Poor... very poor. If I could give you a minus score, I would.

Turned away at the door which was then shut in our faces. “Sorry mate, to many dogs” was the excuse “try the bigger pubs”. We tried to explain that we were showing our friends the bar having been there many times ourselves (with our dogs!) but sadly Mr Barman was far to keen to shut the door in our faces. Poor form Bar 13. Hang your heads in shame.

We visited Settle for our first time. I usually have a look on tripadvisor to see what bars are around and found Bar 13 selling cask ales. This was a lovely cosy bar with friendly locals and a nice landlord. We were only in Settle for two nights but visited here on 3 occasions. We came across this bar by accident while wondering around the town. We were glad we found it as it had good quality wines at very reasonable prices - a rarity. It also serves cask ales which appeared to be popular with fellow drinkers who appeared to be locals. We did not feel out of place were made to feel welcome. It reminded us of some of the cafe bars in Berlin. The first time was by chance on an evening - we enjoyed a few well kept real (Yorkshire) ales before moving on (closes quite early at the start of the week). there were obviously lots of locals but they and the staff were all friendly and knowledgeable about the beer. We felt relaxed and welcome straight away. The following day we stopped by for a light lunch - my partner had a lentil curry that was very flavoursome and my mushroom soup was the nicest I've had for a long time. Later that day we popped back for a couple of glasses of wine, very reasonably priced and excellent quality. Love this place

Living in Settle, we eat there at least once a month, normally on a Thursday (steak night - I like my steaks, and theirs are excellent !). It's small, and very much a 'gastro-bar' rather than a pub, so that it isn't my choice as a regular drinking-hole, but on the occasions that we do visit the welcome is warm, and the beer is not warm ! They keep a few real ales, mainly locally brewed, and change them from time to time. All have been well worth drinking. Prices are vry reasonable, and good value.Reservations very much recommended as it's only small.I look forward to my next visit !

Stayed at The Lister Arms for a couple of nights mid week. We stayed in the Lister Barn which is a 2 minute walk from the actual pub. Cosy and warm, tastefully decorated with lovely toiletries - a real gem of a place. The main pub is really cosy, with a gorgeous fire burning all day and evening. Breakfast and dinner here were both really good with large portions. Lots of dogs inside the bar area too which was lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely return.

After driving around the Yorkshire Dale's, we were in need of a drink and snack. We came across this lovely little tearoom and we weren't disappointed, quirky and quaint I would say, very friendly, great value for money too.

Fantastic place. Roll with bacon and sausage was lovely. Really good quality ingredients and perfectly cooked. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. I've been coming here on caving trips for 25 years and always either start or finish the day in Inglesport. Love it. The only thing I'd say... bring back the pints of tea!!! And please don't ever stop doing the tiffin, it is the best on the planet.

On arrival the pub does not inspire confidence in the quality of food - but it was really very good. I was dubious about the sizes of sunday roasts after reading a previous review - and to be fair, the plates do not arrive loaded with masses of veg or mash. However, we all left feeling satisfied and it really felt like well prepared, high quality food. The steak and ale pie, and steak and ale yorkie had the same filling, which was superb.
