Thetford Raj Restaurant in Breckland

We used to have a favourite place called spice garden that we thought was the best Indian in the area. Until we tried this, meat was incredibly tender everything was incredibly flavourful and the portions were a good size. Can’t fault it. Plus they have paratha which is always a winner

Great food, loads of it and quick, hot delivery

We normally love it here. We order for 6pm delivery at 5pm and it was accepted. I rang the restaurant at 6:30 to ask where it was (as the app was saying delivered) but was met with a very rude person on the phone telling me to wait 10 more minutes. Delivery person did not apologise either. Food arrived cold and needed to be heated in the oven. Was very disappointing overall. Such a shame as we normally love thetford raj.

fantastic food as always, would never order my curry from anywhere else in Thetford.

Great tasting food, rich flavors and the naan was awesome. Portion sizes great too.

I regularly order from this restaurant and dine in. The restaurant is exceptionally clean. The staff greet you upon arrival and are very friendly and we always feel welcome . The food portions are generous and flavoursome, always a generous amount of meat and prawns in the dishes. Service is very good with the waiters checking everything is satisfactory with your food with a non intrusive approach, leaving you to enjoy your meal. Upon leaving the restaurant they always open the door for you and give a genuine goodbye. Spot on Raj ! Thank you .

The Momos are next level tasty! Tried the Cheet Puri and have too say this was another hit, the starters is what I ordering from now on! Light with medium spice is the way too go. 🫡🫡🫡

Normally this restaurant is my favourite place to eat, unfortunately this time food came 45 minutes late, arrived cold and poppadoms and naan was soggy and salad was inedible. Asked for some money back and restaurant refused disappointed to say the least

Brilliant food and lovely service. We ordered for collection and it was all ready perfectly on time and they even carried it out for us. The mixed grill was particularly good and all the portion sizes were generous with wonderful value.

Ordered at 6 for delivery at 7, to then have it arrive at 7:45. Unacceptable delay for something ordered an hour in advance when you can order in person and have your food in less than 20 minutes.

Ordered delivery and it is the worst Indian food we have ever eaten and we have eaten a lot. Absolutely horrific. The first and last time ordering from here.

Worst meal I’ve had from here. Purée rock hard, 2 poppadoms missing. Tikka masala sauce like water

Overall just fairly average. Onion bhajis were a bit greasy and doughy. Curry was ok but nothing special. Naan bread was small and undercooked. Slightly pricey for an average meal but ok.

I had to go find the driver as his car was low and he couldn’t get up the road after 30mins of not being able to find the place we were staying at really not good enough

Food arrived 30 minutes early! It was excellent as always.

Had to chase twice and the food finally turned up at 7 30 (ordered at 4.50) the food was only warm, the containers were half empty, there were only 6 small bits of chicken in the tikka Masala and the poppadoms were stale.

Great quality food and plenty of it. Delivery was very quick even though it was Christmas Eve. Arrived hot despite having travelled right across town. Highly recommended.

ive used The Thetford Raj for over 12 years and have NEVER had a poor meal. I've ad take aways, eaten in, had their specials night and tgeir buffets and the food and staff have always been superb.

30-60 mins over the delivery time, unfortunately when the food arrived it was like warm. Normally always lovely food.

Good was really great and arrived hot and ready to eat. We were also quite far away so the fact it was hot when it arrived was amazing. Would totally order from here again. Lovely staff too, both person on the phone and delivery person were awesome.

Excellent, accommodating service Tasty food Lots of choice Banquet menu is very good value Particularly recommend the Aloo Chaat and the Okra bhaji Only improvements would be to bring raita with the poppadums, not just with the starters, and also to offer paneer curries rather than just vegetable. I personally prefer Sag Paneer without coconut in it, but it was still nice.

decent, nothing special and I would have at least expected a popadum with the order but no. standards have gone so bad in this country since civil.

Big portions full of flavour lovely

Very pleased with our dinner. Ordered a variety of dishes: 4 entrees, pilau, breads, and raita. The biryani and tandoori were excellent, just delicious. For a mid-week special, the banquet was very generous for it's value, it was just a lot for 4 people. Service was a little slow, even before the serious evening crowd showed up. Parking on a weeknight was a generally OK but there were lots of cars on the street parking for the futbol practice across the street.

Dishes were not the way they are traditionally made. The chicken tikka was way too sweet. The other two dishes tasted fine but again not traditional which was a shame considering it is an Indian restaurant.

We always order from Raj and the delivery turn around is excellent, food is always hot. Never have any issues with the food, the workers always deliver great customer service. If you love your Indian then I highly recommend the Raj.

Original estimate for deliver was 30-45 minutes, 1.5 hoirs later the food arrived having shown as out for deliver for 45 minutes.

Do not get food from this establishment! We were missing a naan bread, and the onion salad + mint sauce turned up unedible (piping hot). The curry we ordered tasted horrible and seemed like it was months old. The worst Indian experience I have had.

The best Indian by far, the food is full of flavour and there is plenty of meat in each of the dishes, well worth the money and the staff are very polite. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and clean. 5 stars from me. Thank you ☺️

Had food in there buffet food cold offered to reheat it in microwave not good with chicken used to be good but the manager is ararat and distorting what was a good Indian restaurant never going back again.

Travel quite a distant to come to the Raj its a very good Restaurant and takeaway food is always fresh, no horrible orange grease on the curry's The Naan breads are delicious. Staff are very friendly and offer great service. Highly recommend.
