Theos in Cheshire East

Excellent quality fish and chips for £9.40. This might seem expensive but it is the going-rate these days and cheaper than some. The quantity was large and presented in a nice-looking box instead of just wrapped in paper. I was surprised that the only methods of payment were either cash or bank transfer (no cards) and that explained exactly what the clients in front of me were doing with their phones! I was reluctant to follow suit so just handed the assistant a tenner for speed despite being stuck with a rather useless 60p returned to my pocket. Clearly the owner has had trouble with cards and as he runs a business security of payment is a first priority so I am not going to deduct a point for a perfectly understandable ruling on payment. The premises also looked spotlessly clean. Thoroughly deserving of a five star recommendation.

Called for a snack. Chips and gravy. Before they served it, they asked for £4.60. I said I would rather go hungry. Outrageous price. Wouldn’t be much more for a meal and a drink in Wetherspoons. Chips & gravy!!!!! Neptune in Runcorn, serve a pie dinner i.e pie/pudding, chips, peas and gravy, eat in on a plate, for 40p more!!! A fiver! If people are stupid enough to pay it. They’ll continue to charge it!

I would just like to take responsibility for a review which I wrote several months ago regarding Theo's Fish and Chips shop. I personally wasn't in a great place which I know had a huge bearing on the unfair review that I left (and am trying to work out how to erase) A really important point for me is having explained this to the owner and management team they have been nothing but supportive and understanding for which I am incredibly grateful. There's no question that Theo's provides the freshest and best food in Handforth and the surrounding areas and I now know that the team who work there are committed to the highest standard of customer service. Thank you to the Manager and the lovely staff who work there...it's lovely to be back and I am most grateful

These are the best kebabs in the area. We tried others but keep coming back to Theo’s. The staff are great and it’s very nice and clean. Well done Theo’s for your wonderful kebabs 😀

Chippy ten deep, ordered food but had no rice, went to pay and cash only. Didn’t have any cash. Old Women with a bad attitude said read the sign on the counter but I couldn’t see it as too many people in front & I was at the end of the shop!!! She should have said before I ordered!!! Waste of time and food, as I won’t be back to pay with cash. I’m local & used the Chippy for years but I won’t be returning until that old bag has left.

Ordered on phone.Staff rude when enquired if u pay when you arrive and inform them youre waiting.No matter what time they say, they dont commence the order until you eventually have the audacity to ask for your order.Size of chips portion a joke too.I wont be going there again.

Firstly the food here is excellent. Visited tonight (Saturday), all Covid safe inside with screens etc. People going in one at a time to order, then coming back outside in the open air awaiting their order. However... A male who was queueing outside, kept coughing into his hands, no mask and no gloves. Then went inside to order and stayed inside putting his grubby hands all over everything. Leaning over the fryer and chatting with the cook, certainty not 1 metre away, never mind two. It wasn't raining or cold outside, and there were old people waiting outside. I expected someone inside to ask him to wait outside, but no one did. Put me right off!!! By the state of his bloodshot eyes, either been drinking or a raving pot head. Should have done more here Theos.

Excellent customer service. Very friendly and efficient staff. Food was delicious and good portion size. Shop very well organised to protect customers and to adhere to social distancing rules.

Authorities notified after a complete loss of control and use of swear words by the manager, also told ‘don’t come back’ after standing up to this bullying behaviour. Despite displaying appropriate parking permit the manager also started taking photographs which is of concern and a criminal offence.Concern that this may be a racial hate crime.Statement made to Cheshire Police.

Visit this place on and off on occasion and whilst the food is alright, its certainly nothing to shout from the rooftop about. I've requested the occasional splash of curry sauce on a burger meal to make the chips a bit less bland (which they have been several times) and been told I'll have to pay for a full pot of curry. Cheers for being so generous!Been in this week and noticed everything's hiked up in price from what in my opinion was already over priced. I even noticed my meal was bulked out with chips and the chicken meat to top it off therefore considerably less than it should be. Last time I'll be going here after finding out a burger meal is now £5.00... maybe Brexit is to blame... or maybe the place should just open longer hours instead of trying to condense a normal days trade into a few hours with hiked up prices.

Visit on a weekly basis, ordering numerous chicken chips for our staff (local business)visited this Monday evening and what a joke. The portion size has gone to less that half. I was amazed how little there was. Never again will I visit this place, but the price didn’t change with the portion size

The food is always freshly cooked and the service is friendly. Ordered chicked shawarma on naan with salad and yoghurt sauce plus a portion of chips.Everything was delicious and will definitely return.

Fancied a kebab and although there are take aways closer to home, Theos serve the best kebabs and the salad is always fresh and plentiful. Good choice of sauces and find the mild chilli goes best with donner kebabs. Will definitely return.

Been a few times since the last review and food still as good as ever. However, the portions seem to be smaller than they used to be. Both naan bread and amount of chicken seems to have shrunk. Would rather pay a little more for bigger portions.

We usually get a theos as a monthly treat. Loads of options and great for the money. Never had any issues with the food or staff. Highly recommend.

Ha sido un par de veces y siempre tienen grandes de pollo en pan naan. shawarma La ensalada es excelente y aparte de la típica lechuga, tomates, etc, que pepino también incluyen repollo blanco y rojo y un montón de griego chilies, delicioso. Las salsas también son estupendas, el chile o yogur. El servicio es siempre amable con sonrisas. Grandes porciones y buena relación calidad-precio. Sin duda lo recomiendo.

Este lugar regularmente a la hora del almuerzo. Sólo un "fish and chips", pero el personal es amable y trabaja duro. Tartas y mi favorito de Hollands es carne y patatas. Siempre una gran ración de patatas fritas.Hacen dos salsas de curry, un estándar y una picante, que es la que prefiere.También una amplia selección de hamburguesas y kebabs, que no he probado.

Excellent food and friendly service in every visit. Good for lunch. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Lovely family run taverna , friendly helpful staff, Yummy food , albeit very limited menu at this time of year. But that was expected , mostly lots of restaurants round here closed out of season, inside & out seating right nest to kolossi castle.

I contacted the outlet to raise a concern and was met with a barrage of abuse and bad language from the manager Completely unacceptable and will be taking the matter further once I get proprietors details.

This is our regular chippy. Lovely fish and chips and a good selection of kebabs, burgers, pies etc. Nice friendly staff.

Went tonight. Had chicken in a pitta and chips. It was lovely. Nice fresh salad on it. The staff are so polite and it is spotlessly clean.

Lovely staff ,great food . Closes early however just when I need to grab a meal after work . Plenty more places in Handforth , too many really .

Title says it all. The best fish and chips anywhere. I have been to theos hundreds of times and never disappointed. Other food is top quality also.

Quite possibly the best fish and chips I've had. Theos is local to me and it knocks spots of the opposition. I have also yet to come across a cleaner chip shop. It is spotless and it is good to see.

use this chippy a lot, they sell normal traditional fish and chips etc, and burgers and kebabs and also peri peri chicken. The staff are all nice and as the chippy is quite large you dont usually have to wait very long for example if they are waiting on chips, the fish is very nice as are the burgers and kebabs, the place is spotlessly clean, my only gripe is that its a pity they dont open on a sunday.
