A great evening in the downstairs dining room for a 23rd Birthday Party. Very accommodating and very appreciative of all their help and support to make the event a success. Would strongly recommend a large booking here!

I recently visited this charming Greek restaurant and was thoroughly impressed. The ambiance is authentically Greek, making you feel as if you’ve been transported to a cozy taverna in Greece. The food was absolutely sensational, with the starters being particularly outstanding. Each dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. If you’re looking for a place that offers a genuine taste of Greece, this restaurant is a must-visit.

The food is awesome! Very good Greek wine selection also. Three stars because I just felt a bit uncomfortable. The welcome was a bit weird. As a first time guest, it's not really clear where you should present yourself to get some help or be seated. We had to wait around for maybe 5 mins to be acknowledged. We kind of felt in the way. It felt like a lot longer because of that. Once we had a table things improved and our server was very polite. We didn't get much help with the menu but after asking, we were assured we had ordered enough for two. Food and wine were awesome, as was the beautiful decor. Prices were ok but I left a little bit hungry and far too focused on the odd welcome rather than the great food.

I had never really had proper Greek food until visiting Theion. I was surprised to find out how incredible it is! From the outside you would not expect to find the vast restaurant hidden inside. Its beautifully decorated and has a great feel to it. The staff were very friendly and helped with recommendations on the menu. The menu itself is not huge which from experience is only a good thing, to know it offers a smaller number of dishes usually means the quality of each dish is much better and I can say this is the case with Theion. We had 2 starters to share, along with pitta and olives for the table, We had the meatballs and chicken tacos both of which were so full of taste and served with great accompaniment's. For main we were stuck between the Moussaka and the Glazed Pork, after speaking with the staff we decided on the Moussaka to experience proper Greek food, and I must say it was the best decision. We both could not believe how much we loved it! it had such an amazing taste and was cooked to perfection. I decided to have the crème brulee for desert, it was slightly different to normal as it was had an orange flavour throughout and although normally I would not go for something like this I was pleasantly surprised! it had a crisp top and server with sugar based angel hair with a small amount of vanilla ice cream on top, it all went so well together and I was extremely satisfied after the meal. Overall an amazing experience with incredible food. Highly recommend and I cannot wait to visit again!

Not even close to Greek food...everything was replaced with west spaces.....souvlaki with bbq souse....wtf...Greek salad with cherry tomatoes and no feta...just image of feta....not coming back what so ever...

Such a great restaurant all round! The food was delicious and the staff were very attentive. Biggest highlights would be the feta filo and the kleftiko lamb. So good!

We were a bit unlucky and got a table on the gangway near the plates and cutlery. Quite shoulder to shoulder with the table next to us so didn't quite have privacy of conversation. I think they are obviously trying to maximise the space. The food was ok, nothing to shout about. Waiters were busy and seemed a bit overwhelmed. Bit unfortunate as it was my wife's birthday dinner.

OMG what a gem! Have been meaning to try this restaurant for years and wish I had experienced it sooner! Went with a friend and enjoyed the set meal for two (there are four options to choose from). If you’re looking for amazing, delicious ie can’t stop eating the food, top quality Greek food, then book your table today. Will definitely return very soon with more friends and family!

The food was excellent. Portion sizes good & really delicious. The service was non existent. All male waiters, food slammed down not asked if we wanted anything extra or drinks. The restaurant is gorgeous. Wouldn't take much for this place to be first class.

Leaving this review a little late - but we’ve been here a few times now and every time it’s been equally great. I have to say that this is probably my favourite restaurant local to where we live. The food is delicious, atmosphere is good, and service isn’t bad either. We really like everything we’ve tried on the menu and the quality and standard of cookery is always consistently good - which is really something to shout about (the coffee barbecue glazed pork souvlaki is particularly yummy!) We all agree that this is probably our favourite restaurant to come to as a family. But it would be equally good for business lunches, couples and families. We will definitely keep coming back again and again I’m sure. Well done Theion :) Keep up the great work!

Second time at Theion. First time was almost literally the last day before lockdown. My recollection as that the food was great but my mind was a bit elsewhere at the time. Now four years later - I know, doesn’t time fly - the chance came to return. I went with quite a large group of friends and the food was of uniformly excellent quality. Probably the overall favourite was the feta parcels - one of us had another portion for pudding they liked them so much. The bill was £105 for three courses, wine coffee etc. we were there three hours and will return.

My wife and I visited THEION, a Greek restaurant in Guildford, this evening, and we were both extremely impressed with the service and the food. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, making us feel very welcome. The food was absolutely delicious, with a great variety of traditional Greek dishes that were beautifully presented and full of flavor. The highlight of our meal was the dessert, which was divinely exquisite. We had a wonderful dining experience and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended! Well done...Theion! 10/10🤩🤩

Nice venue with good Greek food and lovely service and atmosphere. As it is Guildford, it's not the cheapest. Still, worth a visit if you are a fan of Greek food.

Had a brilliant meal here, food was excellent and very good sized portions. We absolutely love Greek food and this place did not disappoint. Small improvement on their booking system would be helpful.

First time here. Wow. The food is really nice. Lovely atmosphere and very attentive staff who were very friendly and are very helpful with people's allergies of foodstuffs. They even brought out a plate with a portion of sorbet and happy birthday message written in chocolate for my wife. Well worth a visit We will definitely revisit next time we see in the area.

My favourite restaurant in Guildford. The flavours take me back to a happy time in Corfu many years ago but the dishes are elevated and so refined, simply delicious. The pita bread is divine! The environment is so calming and the decor is artistic, aged wood and brick. The service is very attentive.

Located in a characterful, exposed brick building on “restaurant alley”, it’s a pleasant ambience enhanced by friendly (but not obsequious) staff. I hadn’t expected any surprises, but there were at least a couple. The first was that there was no complimentary basket of pitta (or any kind of bread) or olives. A little disappointing for a restaurant that presents itself as one at the top of the range. A taco on a Greek menu? Yes indeed. And very nice it was too. I forgot to order two rather than one, but that can be corrected on my next visit. My partner had the Aubergine starter. It was huge. I was consequently hopeful that I’d benefit from some of her main course. Wrong. I had the Chicken souvlaki, accompanied by mint flavoured couscous. Okay, but nothing special, if I’m honest. There could and should have been more pepper/onion/courgette on the skewer. In any event, the chicken was generous and nicely grilled. The next surprise was the quality of the Greek wine. One white, one red: two happy customers.

Lovely dining room , airy and tasteful and a holiday feel. The food is outstanding ...it is so delicious you just want more immediately ! Inventive dishes with superb ingredients. Cannot wait to go back and try some more from the menu . Very nice staff too.

We went on a saturday night without a reservation, so we got seated in the ground floor room which was cold (we were wearing coats indoors) and poorly decorated. But you cant fault the food. The kleftiko was nice. We had the filo cheese in honey and sesame and the calamari, we highly recommend. Surprisingly, the desserts were not greek- was hoping for a baklava, bougatsa or loukoumades. I was looking for the some sigala wine, and it was right at the back of the menu at £90 😱 if you can add the moraiti wine from Paros

The food here is amazing! It's quite pricey, but definitely worth it. The first server we had was a little abrasive, but the second one was very attentive and helpful. Honestly worth going just for the Ekmek Tsoureki, but it was all incredible. Only criticism I would have is that the chairs are quite uncomfortable, especially for anyone with reasonably sized thighs.

Absolutely incredible food. All the mezze options were great, in particular the calamari, tacos and filo feta. Pork souvlaki as a main tasted amazing. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time.

Theion was recommended by friends so I decided to treat myself. I'm afraid my review is rather different to most as I was really disappointed. The food was good and very tasty but the service was very poor. My name was listed wrongly at reception. I then waited around 15 mins to be offered a drink and got a taster glass. Another 15 mins went by at which I asked if I could order. My mezze came, but still no wine, so I asked for that. By the time my very hot mousakka arrived I think staff had become aware I wasn't too happy and the manager became very attentive. This was appreciated, except I was asked twice if I liked my meal which was still far too hot to even try so I couldn't judge! This was at 1.30-2.00pm and the restaurant wasn't all that busy. Staff buzzed around me all the time but took no notice. Was it because I was a solo diner?? I hope not.

Exceptional. Never did I think pitta breads could be as incredible as the freshly made ones here. Food, atmosphere and staff are all incredible! One of the best restaurants in Guildford.

Best Greek food I’ve had since visiting Greece ! Meatballs needed to have a little more flavour with a touch of more salt but I’m not knocking off any stars because of that, just a heads up for the chef .

Really love the food at this restaurant, very very tasty and elegantly presented. The set menu is a great value deal, however we felt very rushed. All the dishes bar one arrived at the same time rather than in stages and when you are paying a lot of money for a meal you feel a bit cheated when it’s over within literally 30 minutes.

Treated my family to a meal out here, hadn’t heard of it before (I live in Bournemouth ) but boy was it worth the travel! And I do it again! I wish I had one in Bournemouth. We all left so satisfied, pleased and saying praises about Theion. Our servers were great, atmosphere was perfect and food was just incredible! We’ve passed by this restaurant so many times and finally decided to try it. And we’re so glad we did! The food was outstanding. All the favourites were in the menu, plus great modern takes on the traditional dips. Especially loved the butterflied sea bream, the crispy Hake fillet, and the moussaka. And the freshest calamari! The great food was completed by the light and welcoming decor, staff and ambience. Not to be missed if you love Greek food. We’ll definitely be going back for more!

Incredible dinner with friends, cannot recommend highly enough. Decor is fabulous, service impeccable and the food was some of the best I’ve had in years. Only disappointment was that there was no baklava or Kataifi on the dessert menu…will just have to go back with the hopes that one will be on the menu next time!

Excellent Fine Dining Greek restaurant in the heart of Guildford, all dishes are made with the highest quality and served with panache.

I think the servers did the best they could during a busy time and was grateful to be seated despite arriving 10 mins late for our meal. Perhaps that’s why we seemed to have a few problems. I’m guessing they were short staffed. I’d had to chase up our drinks we ordered to a waitress who seemed stressed. There were apologies for delays to nearby tables, and plates not being cleared next to us. Food ordered is supposed to all come at once and shared among the table - ‘Greek style’ as it states on the menu. The main didn’t come with the 2 other dishes we ordered. I checked with the server and was told it was coming. We finished the 2 small dishes and eventually the main arrived, and it was luke warm. When I mentioned to the server that we’d been told it was all meant to arrive at the same time, she said they were busy downstairs. Shame as it let down the whole (expensive /special occasion) meal. The food tasted incredible, and the atmosphere is excellent. I’d highly recommend the Calamari.

Second and third visit in a year. This is a special place to dine, trendy, fresh and although the menu is on the small side it is revised so that means trying new traditional specialities each visit. Delicious flavours, high quality meat and vegetables. Table service was swift, suave and understanding of young children and greatly appreciated. Starters and mains were consistently high quality, delicious and impeccable presentation. Dessert menu was limited and with no Baklava in sight we had to settle for espresso. I will be back in 2024, I will find you, and eat the Baklava and Yamas! Excellent team and management.

Really enjoyed our experience at Theion. The service was attentive and the food was tasty. I would recommend the honey filo starter- it was delicious! The only downside was that we were seated near a door and it was a little drafty. It was incredibly busy (understandable why!) but we did feel very close to the couples on the tables on either side of us. However, this did not take away from how tasty the food was and so I would be more than happy to visit again.

We went in today for lunch at this place. The food was impeccable and service was very good. We were pleasantly surprised when they gave us a sweet surprise along with our dessert. Highly recommended. One of the finest in Guildford

I came here last night to celebrate my partners birthday. The set menu was amazing the flavours and the quantity of the food was great value for money. Nicola was very sweet and helpful. Highly highly recommended going here and will definitely be back soon.

After being disappointed many times eating out recently at other restaurants we were unbelievably thrilled to have found this restaurant. The food was amazing, service was fab and the drinks were perfect. The best eating out experience we have had in the UK in a long time. We will be back very soon. Thank you!

Went there for a lunch on Sunday and it was a fantastic experience. Food was excellent (I recommend the Greek salad which is actually a traditional Cregan dakos salad and the souvlaki… and the chocolate cake), staff very nice and helpful. Atmosphere is also very nice and perfect to spend quality time with friends and family. Whether you live or stop by Guildford, it’s a must-go.

Amazing greek food and great atmosphere. We are very lucky to have such a lovely restaurant in Guildford and nice to be able to find something else than gyros near London, which is effectively the greek "junk" food.

Lovely setting and interior design but food and service lacking. Food seemed a bit unhealthy and unimaginative - deep frying, adding mayonaise and loads of honey for flavour. Service was really quite unorganised and seem untrained, everyone was nice but was served the wrong food, lots of wandering staff looking around, interrupted many times during our meal by different staff - need consistency at a table. The whole experience didn’t feel comfortable or special.

Theion has a good atmosphere from when you walk into the restaurant. The decor is lovely and clean. The food was excellent, and the service was good, but more could have been done to make sure the dishes arrived at the same time. Perhaps there could be more options for those with dietary requirements.

A super atmospheric space perfect for a nice dinner 🙂 Every single detail was perfect! We tried 3 starters and 2 mains and everything was delicious and of high quality. At the end we also tried the dessert and just superb! Additionally, the staff were pleasant and polite! 110% recommended!! We'll definitely visit again.

Hadn’t been for a while, when the food and service had been outstanding. Today’s meal was very disappointing, bland and textureless. Menu limited. Maybe the chef was off sick. 🤞

Theion offered a nice experience with highlights including delightful feta cheese bites, tasty beef yiouvetsi, and a satisfying carpaccio. The kids' menu's chicken nuggets were enjoyable. However, the aubergine imam was a letdown, ranging from mediocre to disappointing. Despite this, the overall dining journey was elevated by the commendable service, making it a balanced and worthwhile experience.

We had a great lunch today. All the food was very tasty. The dips with flat bread were great as a starter then we had a selection of meze to share. The feta filo pastries were yum. We all enjoyed our mains. What really impressed us is that they had the forethought to bring food out quickly for our 18 month old grandson so that we could all enjoy our food. I even got a special birthday message on my dessert.

Best Greek restaurant this side of London - absolutely amazing food, lovely building and great atmosphere. We have visited about 8 times and went today for lunch which was really excellent the set menu for weekday lunch. The Greek music really made it as well.

I couldn't rate this restaurant highly enough. We were a large corporate party and we were catered for and taken care of brilliantly by the team. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. The restaurant entrance is unassuming but step inside and it's like a tardis! Great experience and thank you for looking after us so well. The staff here worked really hard to ensure we had a good experience.

I've been to Theion a few times and they never disappoint! Food and service is always excellent and the decor is simple but beautiful. They also have a room for more private dining, we had 16 people in there comfortably but could fit a few more. I can safely say I'll keep coming back! P.S. have the feta filo.

Fantastic restaurant in every regard. The decor is classy, the service impeccable and every dish we tried was delicious. I particularly recommend the sea bream carpaccio (with a sauce so nice I considered ordering it as a drink), chicken tacos and crispy hake. The Ekmek Tsoureki dessert was also incredible. Greek dishes with a twist. Amazing every time.

This is my favourite place!!! The food is consistently fantastic!! A group of 6 of us sat all night drinking, eating and laughing. The service is excellent and so friendly the staff cannot do enough for you. We ordered a huge mixture of starts and all shared and everyone loved everything!! I had a pudding for the first time and it was one of the nicest things I’ve eaten! I can and do always recommend this place with complete confidence. Amazing Greek food done well every single time.

We absolutely loved our meal at Theion! Every dish was a discovery of flavours. One of my teenage sons described it as the best meal of his life!

It was so delicious! ⭐️ Basket of pita and homemade bread Tzatziki Aubergine Cream The bread is nicely tied and ordered some Aubergine Cream😋 ⭐️Dolmadakia I never imagined that such a combination could be so great! ⭐️ Feta Filo Fried cheese spring rolls with honey topping are really delicious! ⭐️Chicken Tacos The pork shreds are used and the taste is so fresh but not lost. ⭐️ Aubergine Imam As I don’t usually eat onions, I put them in my mouth and cooked them until they were so oozing. The sauce overpowered the onion flavor. Not bad! ⭐️Greek coffee barbecue glazed pork souvlaki This one is really 100 points better than him. Sweet, salty and salty. I’m chasing after him🤭🤭 ⭐️ EKMEK TSOUREKI Finally, I ordered a dessert: Pistachio Cake with Cinnamon White Chocolate Sauce. But for me, it has some sweetness. People who love sweetness can give it a try☺️

Visited this restaurant on a Saturday night with family. Great atmosphere with a really nice interior. Very spacious, modern with a lot of character. Service was 10/10 - really attentive and waitress was really knowledgable about the menu and the food. Food was delicious and really tasty. Would recommend the greek salad and the Moussaka. Would definitely recommend and we will be returning to this restaurant.
