Dropped in to Zero Waste whilst on day trip from London. Encountered light rain, and cafe looked inviting. Warm, friendly relaxed service, pleasant surroundings. Nachos and a bowl of delicious soup both served with generous portions of bread, must point out nachos was supposed to be accompanied by corn chips. Meal accompanied by a mulled wine and water. A pleasant lunch experience.

Nice place and pleasant, friendly staff. They told us us they had run out of milk after we’d sat down and ordered. It’s a coffee/ tea place. You run out and go buy some milk from a shop….it’s not rocket science. You’re a tearoom. — Other than that all good and I would return there because I’m sure they don’t want an avoidable review such as this again.

What a great place. If you are nearby- or looking for somewhere to visit this is the place. With an exciting menu, hard working staff members and a great location, its easy to see why people keep returning. Can't wait to return.

I have visited here a number of times before and had a pleasant time (hence returning). I came along this morning to find a sign saying please take a seat for table service, so we did. 10 minutes later, noone had come over still. I stood at the counter, was going to ask for a menu. In which time the co-owner passed me twice, there was other staff nearby & was totally ignored. I don't expect people to stop what they're doing for me, but just acknowledge me even if I got a "sorry, we're a little busy, I'll be with you shortly" would've been appreciated. We just left and went down the road where we received a much friendlier/more efficient service.

Wandering through the panties I came across this welcoming cafe and shop. The tables are nicely spaced and there’s a warm welcome when you enter. The menu is wide enough to cater for the non vegetarian too. I ordered a latte and the veggie chilli plus the little potato hash browns on recommendation as I was starving. Service is very friendly and the place was bustling with locals, shoppers and potterers with many also picking up supplies from the little shop at the back with a refill station, natural products and organic produce. I have to say that the chilli was delish the best I’ve tasted in a long while and serviced with an optional sprinkle of cheese and jalapeños alongside a thick slice of their whole meal. I really didn’t need the side order of potato as it was a filling portion. The coffee is also excellent. Tables are cleaned fully between occupation and the venue is spotless. The lady who served me was friendly and chatty and also very knowledgeable about their product range.

I visited for lunch with a friend and was really excited by the menu! Neither of us are vegan or vegetarian but there were so many tasty options from sandwiches to chilli that it was really hard to decide! The smoothies were great and we also had cakes, which were all vegan and delicious! The staff were really friendly and it had a welcoming atmosphere.

I discovered this shop and cafe whilst walking through the Pantiles. I was attracted by the fact that it mentioned it being a vegan friendly cafe and I went and had a lovely oat latte there. The staff are lovely there and made me feel very very welcome and the shop and café have a very lovely and relaxing environment with comfy chairs. The cakes by the till looked amazing and although I didn’t have any on this occasion I would definitely recommend them to anyone visiting this shop and cafe. I will definitely come back here on my next trip to Tunbridge Wells.

With us both being vegetarian, it was a great find for me and my husband. It was a novelty having lots of choice as usually, eateries don’t have many decent options. We enjoyed everything we had - smoothies, toastie, sandwich and cakes! Good portions, decent value for money and eco-friendly shop. It was nice to see a symbol on the menu indicating dishes which had been prepared using ingredients which would have normally been thrown away. Would be interesting for them to explain what happens with food leftovers from customers’ meals. Definitely recommend a visit here!

I've been visiting the Zero Waste shop since it very first opened and have loved watching it grow and develop. My most recent visit was a lunch with girlfriends and we had the best time, we were fortunate to visit on one of the few sunny days we had in May so sat outside on the pantiles (perfect spot to soak up the vibrant atmosphere). Our food was fresh and incredibly tasty, portions are great, almost too good but I squeezed in a slice of brownie with pistachio ice cream 😋 I never leave empty handed, normally stocking up on fresh bread, veg and my absolute favourite, their mustard! There really is something for everyone, I'm gluten free so treat myself to a large slice of one of their delicious cakes on every visit - they never disappoint! The only downside is that I don't live closer!

Far too "green" and trendy for me. I don't need others beliefs thrust down my throat ...just a coffee. ...and that wasn't that good sadly.

Not for the first time my friend and I turned up for a quick pint on our way home from work before closing (it was 22:45) only to find that despite the advertised closing time (23:00) it had already closed. The unreliability of the opening times is very frustrating. In my opinion, if you advertise opening hours you should stick to them!!

Sadly the place is between managers/owners and rather neglected. Needs pulling up.

We visited The Mitre on a very busy Saturday evening. To make matters worse, we reached way before our appointment. But nevertheless, the staff accommodated us and found us a table. This set the tone for the entire evening - the staff grappling with large numbers of patrons and yet asking us every now and then if things were alright. This positively impacted out overall experience. The food was quite good too. All in all, a good pub to visit!
