We were in Stratford celebrating a friend's anniversary which clashed with the football final. We tried numerous pubs to get seating for 10 to no avail. Someone said to try the yard of ale , a very friendly waitress managed to get us a restricted view of a TV but due to someone not turning up she got us a ringside seat. Gave us great service as well, a great experience and boozer shame about the result!

Gran pub, no demasiado caro. Gran carling en grifo también. Dardos, piscina y pantallas aquí también. Jukebox con una gran selección también. La comida también es buena.

Didn't actually get to eat as the kitchen was closed whilst we were there. Didn't even go inside as it looked very basic. Locals sat outside were very helpful and friendly though

A laid back and lovely friendly atmosphere. Great prices. The line between a blokes pub and a family dinner. My escape from in-law social awkwardness... And with Stella on tap... Magnificent Trip advisors GPS is off. Look for travel lodge, and across. Worth the find.

On a recent trip to Stratford upon Avon, we chanced to stay in the Travelodge. (Which was OK) And we (our party) also savoured the hospitality of the local inn opposite the hotel called, The Yard Of Ale. At first appearance, we were slightly dubious about the welcome that might be expected at this hostelry! But, on entering, we were at our ease almost immediately. Dennis, the landlord/barman, was a delight! Even though this was an extremely busy evening for him, (due to what appeared to be the annual dart fest! With several games, Men and women, going on, and he, being the lone bar keep,) was admirable in his duty in serving a full house! It was obvious from the start that we were all (14) of us were more than welcome at this establishment! So much so, that he recommended a very good Indian restaurant, phoned and booked a table for us! AND, organised 4 Taxi's to take us there! We all returned to the Yard of Ale for some light refreshment after! Where some of us (not me) got locked in and proceeded to have further refreshments! Some of our party took advantage of the breakfast menu offered on Saturday morning! Sadly, My wife and I decided on other options and missed out on a tremendous offering, But! Having listened to our travelling companions exceptional ratings on their breakfast experience, we took full advantage of the Yard of Ales offerings on Sunday morning before our return journey! And I must say, The service and the breakfast was superb! A lovely cup of Tea, and a superb breakfast! Top marks to the Yard of Ale pub. Should we return to Stratford, we will most certainly visit the Yard of Ale.

Great traditional pub, we were staying in the nearby Travelodge with friends for a wedding reception. Good barman (Dennis) was very helpful, top bloke. Pub was fun to be in, colourful local characters, and the breakfast next day was spot on - faultless.

A traditional pub and away from the tourism of Stratford itself. Liked it because it reminded us of how pubs used to be. Watch the prices though - vary from barman to barman especially if they pick up that you are not a local.

Went in for a breakfast, it is no Michelin star establishment but you get a great breakfast, good ingredients, well cooked. The service was again very good and very good value for money. Will go back.

Just returned from a night at Stratford upon Avon , we stayed at the travellodge over the road , we decided to have a drink in the pub whilst waiting for our other friends to arrive doesn't look much but what a lively surprise the owners/bar staff are so friendly and welcoming we decided to return the following morning for breakfast and we wasn't disappointed the full English was delicious and a great price , when we come back to Stratford we will def turn up at this gem of a pub for a quick drink or breakfast 😄

We went to Straford for the Halloween weekend and stayed across the road at the Travel lodge , we joined in with Dawny's halloween party on the Friday night which was a scream !! Next morning rather jaded we returned for a lovely cooked to order breakfast and found out that they had a race night going on that evening so we found ourselves once again joining in with the locals and regulars for another fun night . Although we did meet some friends there on the Friday that I hadn't seen for some 17 years by the time we left on the Sunday after another great breakfast , the warm welcome that we had received by the staff and other regulars had ensured that we had had a great weekend and a repeat visit is on the calander for 2015! It was genuinely lovely to see all my old friends but this "salt of the earth" pub made our visit .. very memorable for all the right reasons . Thankyou

Taxi driver called it Stratford upon Avons best kept secret and he was spot on. Just across from the Travel lodge we had a fantastic breakfast served by very friendly staff at less than £5 each with extras and coffee, it was all cooked fresh to order a service you don't often get any where now. Will be going back there next time we are in the area. Families are welcome as well...

Just an ordinary pub on the left on the A3400 into Stratford from the A46 and on the non-tourist side of town but a perfect oasis on a scorching hot day (if you come to the first roundabout you've just missed it)A really tasty chunky rasher of gammon, new potatoes and peas (ample butter provided) and the choice of pineapple or egg for less than £5 - washed down with a good draught cider over ice it was just what the doctor ordered.

One of the best cellars of the UK. Great team, great selection, Great prices. You are looking for quality wines, must add, high quality wines ... this is the place ! They did not change prices of some grand crus from Burgundy ! Wine is passion and this place is showing such a remarkable selection of fine winemakers, with the love of the owner and its team ... GO !

The drinks are fine , cakes are fine and the venue is fine but sweet Lord the server a middle aged lady with glasses and greying hair is abrupt and unfriendly to the point of rudeness. Think Basil Fawlty on a bad day. If you don't want to be pleasant get a different job. To be fair we are normally served by someone quite nice.

After experiencing the cafe on one of their club nights, myself and my husband were completely sold with Talton Mill Cafe as the venue for our wedding party. Fran and Liz headed the venue and their input was impeccable. Everything we loved about the place was brought to our day - a cosy vibe, relaxed, beautiful, and delicious! Everything on the menu was homemade and worked perfectly with the environment. Fran and Liz listened to our ideas and needs for the day and delivered. The weather wasn’t bad either!
