They let Derby supporters wait untill opening when the temperature was freezing ! Steak and beer ok but inside it was damn cold !! Put the heating on please

Staff were brilliant and food was excellent.

Can't believe what's happened to this place.. used to have to queue to get in - three hours before kick off.. you'd want to stay hours after the game.. so cold in there and im sorry to say.. i was so so dissapointed

Awful went for big meal just befor christmas food or lack of service awful then even though others complant they didn't do any thing 75 pounds down the drain plus the 15 pounds for the Mac Donalds there were 100 of us there and many wernt happy

Last two home matches horrendous, far too many tables squeezed in. Waitresses, bartenders and kitchen staff under pressure, customers having to wait up to 90 minutes for meals .

Very disappointed that they turned away my two sons and grandson for a meal on matchday.they had travelled quite a distance and just wanted something to eat but was told away team supporters not allowed in. Nowhere on their site does it mention this. To add insult their great grandfather played for Derby County.

Don't waste your money and saliva in the crispy cauliflower....they are litterally carbonized deep fried chunks of perhaps cauliflower ... what a pity that I didn't take a picture of it... both me and my colleague had to leave it cause of the amounts of fat in dripping from them.. what it seemed to be a healthy optioned turned to be a fryer experience :(

Pre match meal for 3. We had 2 pizzas and some sides. Service was good but the food was pretty average. Pizzas quite sloppy. They are geared up to get you in and out quickly.

Went for specal christmas lunch organised for us over 100 pepolie had to put cranberry sauce on plate to locate turkey wonerd why there were spring onions on the plate which was v cold so what we got was cold very small turkey 2 spring onions which were leeks 2 micro spuds 1 micro bit of cold veg the starter was small and cold and after the main course a slice of cold bitter tasting christmas pud I parted with just under 70 pounds for myself husband and friend dreadfull service and food awfull

Not a bad place to eat with a good range of food and beers.

We had a pre match meal 30/12 various offerings from the menu, food luke warm at best, not very big portion. Slow service for food and drinks and not one person asked if the meal was ok so as a chance to redeem themselves.we wont try it again which is a shame as we are season ticket holders.

We came here as a group of 4 before a pantomime at the velodrome. We all had burgers and were waiting for these for 1 hour before being served, they tasted okay.We then had 4 desserts which again took a long time to be served and when they came out all 4 of them were wrong. These were took off the bill in fairness to them to compensate.Overall a disappointing experience and would not return.

Been here a few times and the food is pretty decent, the staff were super friendly and nice and from what I can remember it's not too expensive. One to go to if you're in the area I would say

Went in for a business meeting mid week. . Had the squid which was basically cheap frozen battered stuff banged in the oven so had no taste. . Served extremely plainly with soft plain butter and a few plain leaves of lettuce. Main course less worse. .plain Mushroom risotto. Bit stodgy . Served with some kind of plastic veg on the top

This is the second time I've had lunch here, the service is slow, ordered a cappuccino twice both times came with chocolate when I never asked for chocolate to be sprinkled on top, ordered a cheese pizza, it was cold & hard enough to brake one teeth ...

Mediocre food and service. Food on a par with catering van in car park. Big delays ordering and then 10 minutes after food served to get ketchup.

Excellent service from Tonino and Bar staff (James & George) great atmosphere. Food excellent cant fault the experience we have when we eat or drink there!

My son & I travel to watch our team (Derby) as often as we can.. over 100 mile round trip & so I decided to try the Yard which is integrated into the stadium. We booked easily online & had a warm welcome. Friendly & efficient service, pleasant meal (burger) & didn't quite break the bacnk. Will go again ..

Went to a reminisce night... great atmosphere with fantastic 90s dance tunes...memories of the good old days when clubbing was clubbing and music wasn't sampled to death. In terms of the the yard , its a pretty cool place. Drinks are pretty much town prices with a pretty good selection of premium beers! Bar staff friendly and service was fairly quick!

Came in on match day. Restaurant was busy was served by two young girls, one had dark black hair and was lovely, really attentive, the other had blonde hair which she had down for some reason this made my blood boil as she is serving food and had long hair! Basic hygiene rules clearly out the window. I believe she was a manger as was the other lady as they had white shirts on but the rest of the staff were in blue! Food was ok, and drinks at the bar were good staff were really friendly and welcoming! I would just say that the blonde lady was overwhelmed and had to many tables so we were forgotten as were other tables! And she came across as rude and arrogant because she was so busy don’t think she wanted to be there! But thank you to the other staff member who saved the day! Would probably return but not on a match day.

Had quite a wait while Manager decided which vacant table we could have. Friend's main was not as described and looked like it had just been thrown on plate. Manager rudely asked what she wanted then returned meal minus correct replacement. My main and desserts - average.

Pate, shop bought and boring. Fish finger sandwich on brown bread!!!!!! Funniest brown bread I have ever seen, when mentioned this to server she understood.but when another member of staff came over she was very rude her name was Hannah.ended up with breadless fishfinger sandwich.

We had Callum as our waiter and he was phenomenal!!! It was my graduation and he was friendly, polite and courteous. I couldn’t have wished for a better waiter/service on such a special day ❤️ and bonus is the food was amazing!!!

Went to graduation ceremony and booked The Yard that evening. Good layout and decor. Great service especially Callum who engaged well with our group. Food was good and menu catered for location and clientele.

Menu is lacking options. No light lunch available at weekend.

We came to the bar on Sunday afternoon to meet friends for a drink and to watch the football and we will most definitely NOT be returning !!!

I can understand why a place with so much potential is empty. I have now been here twice, the first time we went for Sunday lunch at around 4.45pm - 4.55pm and they said the kitchen was closed. Tonight we decided to go and watch the biggest game of the Premier League season Liverpool v Manchester City. The Bar / Restaurant is advertised at being open until 6.00pm, we arrived at 4.32pm to see a couple leaving being told the kitchen was closed. We were meeting friends that were already sat down with drinks. I ordered a pint of Estrella, Orange & lemonade for my son and a rhubarb gin & tonic for the Mrs, which I asked have you any fruit to enhance the flavour? The bar man said the kitchen is shut. The friends we were with asked for a pizza, the oven is off was the reply. At 5.34pm as the second half kicked off I walked up and asked for another pint. The bar man said we are closed and have no tills, which I replied I can pay on card. He said I can not serve you as the manager has gone home and I can not over ride the tills. We were never asked at 5.30pm if we wanted more drinks before the bar closed.

We booked a table for 6.15 last night for a quick supper. Arrived on time.... way past 6.20 we were still waiting by the ‘please wait here to be seated’ sign. No sign of any staff... so took a view that if it look 10 minutes to be shown to a table, goodness know how long we would wait for food (and it wasn’t busy - the post match crowds had long gone).

Visited with a friend for an early dinner...Tonino our server was so nice. He made us feel very welcome & was attentive to our needs. The food was delicious & reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend it to others & I will certainly be returning.

We went as a table of 8 for Sunday lunch and we couldn’t fault it. The staff were extremely friendly and the food was brilliant. We had a choice of roast beef or pork and we got 3 very generous bowls with an array of vegetables. Our waitress Nomrotha made us feel very welcome and couldn’t have done anything more. We would 100% recommend!

Popped in for a quick bite & drink before going to a show at the arena next door. We hadn't pre booked and it was very busy, but the very nice smiling waitress found us a table straight away and sorted our little one with crayons & colouring.

Went there with my wife for lunch and no one was there. We asked if we could have a booth, it was declined because booths are set for 4 or more. There was no one else in the restaurant, it was EMPTY, but we couldn’t sit in a booth. There reasoning was that at any moment they could be inundated with customers filling the restaurant. They were serious. We were left looking at the menu and after about 15 minutes while the waitress’s chatted in a corner, presumably talking about the hundreds that might be arriving, we decided to leave and eat elsewhere. We left leaving the restaurant completely empty. No sign of the hundreds that might be thinking of attending. This wasn’t a game day. We went to the Blue Jay and sat in a booth that could seat 8. There were no restrictions there.

My friend and I had a fantastic 3 course lunch here. It was outstanding and we thoroughly enjoyed it! If this standard of food and service remained a constant it would be great! Roasted beetroot starter was amazing, pan seared chicken was lush and banoffee trifle delicious! Pizza oven delivered great garlic bread too. We will be back!

Had a burger, which was ok but tbh I was jealous of everyone else's halloumi salad which looked amazing!

Went here prior to an event at the velodrome. Very convenient and easy parking. Good fast food served by friendly and efficient staff. Wines reasonably priced.

I felt that although the food was tasty it lacked any trimmings and was overpriced. The string was really nice and couldn't fault the server.

Large room. Nice vibe. Limited menu. Not cheap.

A very nice bar next to the best football stadium in the midlands. The beers cold but a bit pricey. But i did like the place. Staff are on the ball and your served very quick. Theres food that smells excellent but have not tried

Lovely restaurant and perfect for a romantic meal

Booked a table on a match day and menu choices poor. Ordered a burger which came with a very small piece of lettuce ! Also tried to order coleslaw to make a basic burger more interesting but they didn’t have any. People on next table had the margarita pizza which again is very basic no fresh tomatoes with it. Would not recommend they could easily make the meals so much better.

We had a loverly roast beef dinner for my father's day meal with my daughter having a pizza ,nice place with good food

Kids meals all good. Carvery for adults minimal. Potatoes nice, beef pink (good for some tastes but not all), Yorkshire pudding looks big but not substantial at all, veg - hardly got any. Grown ups - Expect to leave hungry.

Style over substance sums up The Yard. Nice surroundings but the food, wine and service did not stand up to the promises of their website. Despite all the talk on the website of your table not being saved if you are 15mins late and only having an hour and a half slot the service was slow, inattentive and disinterested. The house wine was not nice, I've had better for £5 in Aldi. The food looked beautiful, and there was nothing wrong with it but it was all a bit bland. All in all a bit disappointing.

What a seamlessly professionally visit to the yard for the play off final. The staff worked extremely hard to ensure all meals were out early and kept everyones drinks topped up,

I booked the table here as it was close to the venue where we were watching Rhod Gilbert. After booking I looked on trip advisor and was a bit concerned as some of the latest, more negative reviews.

Visited this restaurant 20th April. It was a special day as my grandson was signing for Derby Academy football. Parents and siblings were invited to eat at the VIP Lounge so both SATs of proving grandparents decided to book a meal at The Yard. Had no problem booking on the day despite it being a home game as well. Five of in total went. We were greeted at the door with a warm welcome and we given a lovely table a shown in the photos with the lighted arches. Some of us love burgers etc whilst my wife and I went for something a little more, so pre-match meal was great. The whole experience added to a very special day for us. Thank you so much

The decor of this place is very inviting and cosy and the service was quick although not particularly warm. I ordered the lobster mac and cheese which was advertised as having a parmesean crust. There was definitely no crust when it arrived and the lobster served on top was the size of a £2 coin. The mac and cheese itself tasted like it was a re-heatable meal you could purchase from the supermarket but for 6 times the price. My friends had the pork belly and pizza which were average. The dessert menu was not very inspiring so we paid and headed somewhere else. Place is probably good for drinks as it has a good bar vibe. We probably won't visit again

Very disappointed with food ,the Mcheese lobster with the shell ,hurt my mouth,the house burger with a few chips no salad ,the staff don’t bother ,didn’t smile once and expensive

Had an ok lunch, the food is nothing to shout about at lunch but a reasonable price and quick!me and my friend thought who we believe to be the manager as she was not wearing a uniform was incredible rude, from the minute we arrived she was abrupt at the desk, to when she took us to a table she pretty much through the menus down. She was very unhelpful and just passed things on to the staff to while standing at the end of the bar for a Long period of time. It started to get busier and you could tell this was an I conviniance for her!

I feel the need to post this - the general manager of this eatery is so rude and what’s worse, there’s no one to complain to ! When working in a restaurant you have to learn one simple rule to keep your diners happy - the customer is always right. Even if you don’t believe that’s the case !! Unwelcoming, abrupt, unhelpful and lacking basic customer service skills - makes me for a poor experience. Certainly won’t be returning !

Awesome industrial setting within pride park stadium Sandwiches came quickly and reasonably priced. Was a little dry as there was no butter but very tasty. Will return to sample the other offerings.

Iv tried many gluten free pizzas but these must be one of the best... Very nice indeed.

Absolute disgrace served by the alleged manager called Hannah who was quite frankly hopeless ..... waited 25 mins for drinks and had to chase them up waited 10 minutes for a tiny pot of ketchup then as the final insult ordered 2 pizzas in the buy one get one free Offer at £11.50 and garlic bread at £3.95 and was given the £3.95 garlic bread for free !!! And charger full price for the pizzas what a con raised it with the “manager “ who said and I quote “ that’s how it is nothing I can do “ what’s the point being a manager if you have no power ....no reduction in bill no apology a absolute disgrace and a special occasion ruined well

Just wanted to say a massive thank you for the amazing service we have received today. One of the servers George was absolutely fantastic during our visit, ensuring we had everything we wanted and more. Brilliant service and will definitely be returning!

Great place to go for pre drinks before the game ,good selection of different drinks and a good quick food menu

We visited on a Sunday and it was great from the start. Greeted with a smile by the host and our server for the meal, Nom. She was really helpful especially when we realised we left our toddlers bag at home so she organised some food for him to eat. The rest of the food was amazing and the dessert was cleaned out in minutes too! Will definitely be back!

All the staff were easy to talk to and friendly. The bar was kept clean at all time and the atmosphere inside was nice. One of the staff, kanchan, was really kind whilst taking my orders.
