We only popped in for a drink but we were taken with how friendly everyone was, and what a lovely dog Jäger is! It's a charming village too! Thank you for your hospitality.

Beautiful village pub. Thank you for having us. Popped in mid walk to see if they were serving food later in the day as we were staying in the area. They served food until 8pm but was on a reduced menu due to change over which was perfect for us. When we returned it felt like we were greeted with open arms and great friendly service. We both had the chicken burger and it was amazing. Would recommend to anyone in the area for great service, food and beer. Also the dog if your lucky will appear and he's lush.

Down fishing Goodiford Mill for the weekend the Wyndham is close by a good but very busy but back again tonight for food and drink

Christmas Eve and live band playing but the television is still on.(Showing Italian football). Why??????

Booked a table at 6.30 and arrived just before this time. A friendly welcome and quick serve on the drinks order, but sadly that was the only quick thing. We waited until 7.20 and finally asked about how long until the food would arrive only to be told it’s on the way. Finally, it’s arrived at 7.30, sadly it was served on cold plates so the vegetables were cold. My husband had ordered mixed grill and the only warm items on the plate were the chip and sausages. Everything else was at best lukewarm to cold. The other meals of chicken and chips were dry and very disappointing. When my husband asked for his food to be returned there was no apology and kindly they said we didn’t have to pay for his meal! He declined having another meal as he was worried how long he had to wait. A totally disappointing evening at what was once a very lovely pub. We won’t be going back.

Arrived just before booked time and made our order. Than sat around for over an hour. There were 3 other people eating and 6 of us. So no “we’re busy” excuse. When the food eventually arrived all the plates were cold, the peas were freezing in cold bowls. The 3 chicken breasts were dry. But the worst was my inedible mixed grill, the steak, chop & gammon were cold, chicken lukewarm. Sausages and chips were hot, amazing. I sent it back, no real apology but offered to heat it up but everyone else will have finished by then at best or left if previous wait was normal. So I said “don’t worry I’ll go without “ Staff said, as if doing me a favour said “I won’t charge you for the mixed grill “. Which was generous considering it wasn’t edible. I surprisingly will not be returning and would not recommend it to anyone. Only a 1 out of 5 as there isn’t a zero.

It was lovely to see this is still a welcoming traditional village pub, serving lovely food and drink, at very reasonable prices. The landlady and customers were very friendly and would definitely go again soon.

We often at in the area, but when the busy pub on the main road is full. resort to the Wyndham Arms. The quality of the food is now at best mediocre so just try the basic pub grub pies (if they are not hard overcooked) - and ham and egg chips. We have now become suspicious of the 5 star ‘great super fantastic etc‘ reviews Shame - the pub is welcoming, and bar staff fine We now continue down the road passed the Wyndham to another pub we have found deep in the Devon countryside which is so much better

We went to the Wyndham Arms to have a meal during out holiday to Devon and we found the service to be very friendly and the food fantastic! Would definitely visit again. Highly recommend to any family.

We have visited this pub once again as we had such a great reception on the last visit from the owner and all the staff - they are so so welcoming, nothing is too much trouble, super friendly and great food ! The pub has a roaring fire on a cold day which we sat next to some months ago, on this occasion on our return visit it was a gorgeous day so we sat outside in the garden terrace, nothing better than cider here on a hot day that's is for sure ! The great girl who had served us earlier came out after 20 minutes to see if we needed refilling !! The owner and the staff made us so welcome, and the food we ordered was lush ! We couldn't fault the service or the pub at all - such a warm reception and the locals were so friendly and welcoming too - thank you everyone at The Wyndham - doing a wonderful job !!

Found this “proper” village pub after a long drive down to Devon from Yorkshire. What was meant to be a quick bite to eat turned into a full evening of food, drinks and entertainment. Landlady and all of the staff we encountered were exceptionally friendly, food was great and good value. Added bonus, we were asked if we wanted to join the weekly quiz night. While we didn’t win, it was a really fun night, obviously everyone else in the pub was local but we were made to feel just as welcome as those who are there every weekend. Would definitely recommend and would revisit if back 8n the area in future.

The land lady and staff give you such a warm welcome and are willing to help with your needs ,the pub is located in an amazing spot and always an amazing atmosphere from start of the night to the end

If you are in this area…please visit the Wyndham Arms. This place is a real reminder of what a community pub should be. Plus they are extremely welcoming to outsiders such as us. We’ve visited a few times over our week holiday in the area and have found amazing people, a lovely welcome and warm atmosphere and also very dog friendly. Food is your pub grub stuff but is absolutely spot on, if you are after haute cuisine have a wander somewhere else…for a real Devon welcome, beers, food, conversation and real people, then come here!! Sharon the landlady and staff are excellent and so friendly. Definitely recommend. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely return.

A grubby grotty pub to avoid at all cost.the food was overcooked and very poor quality.cigarette butts littering the path to the door and a rather drunk ,scruffy man leaning on the wall outside actually spitting onto the flowers outside.on entering as we had been travelling for a few hours and were very hungry,we decided to risk it ,wish we hadn't bothered .the food took ages to arrive ,served by a scruffy woman who clearly has a hygiene problem,we couldn't eat it and as we left a couple of locals started laughing and said to us ,some more suckers leaving as usual.we ended up going to McDonald's which was like Al a carte. compared to that awful pub.needless to say we won't be returning ever.when l turned round and told them l was going to write a review about how bad it was they just laughed and said the landlords get them to write good ones for them in exchange for a couple of points..

Had a great evening in the Wyndham Arms having really good pie’s and fish & chips washed down by local beers and cider. The staff were great, locals friendly (especially as we didn’t win the pub quiz). All in all, a great village with a proper centre (church, pub, and shop), great walks from the village. We’d be very happy to go back.

Popped into this pub in for Sunday lunch.... Absolutely vile... Cold lumpy microwaved mash with bought in pies... Landlady nice enough..but would not bring food to tables in garden.. The place was empty and still it took 30 minutes to deliver a warmed up lunch.... Avoid at all costs

We have now stopped here a couple of times on our way home from various places and each time have been greeted really warmly and made to feel very welcome. For us, it has been a treat to experience good old fashioned pub grub! Generous portions, well cooked and very reasonable. It feels like a "proper" pub and you don't get that much anymore! We just wish we lived closer to make it our local but we will definitely be back when we are passing that way!

We went for a meal here last week, we have lived in the area for a while but it is the first time we have visited, it was well worth it. This is a brilliant traditional pub with amazing food and well looked after beer! The atmosphere was nice with a good mix of ages and people. We will for sure be back!

Sharon made us feel so welcome, and the food was really good, freshly cooked so took a while but well worth waiting for.not too expensive either. Well worth a visit.

Brilliant pub. A large group of us visited and they were hugely welcoming and accommodating. It also has a great little courtyard out the back.

My husband and I were visiting Kentisbeare for the first time today. We decided to stop at The Wyndham Arms for a quick drink. The pub has an attractive exterior and on arrival the interior was lovely too. We had a friendly and warm welcome (and a welcome from the resident dogs, but we are dog lovers and dog owners so this wasn’t a problem for us!). The pub seemed clean and there was a lovely roaring fire. There were cosy ‘twinkly lights’ round the bar - our drinks were very pleasant, the music was great and there was overall a good, positive and friendly vibe. We look forward to visiting again soon, and trying your food:) Happy New Year and wishing you the very best of luck for 2023 in these trying times x

Lovely traditional pub, log fire, friendly atmosphere and lovely food! Loved it.

We ate at the Wyndham this evening as we quite often do. As usual we received a warm welcome from Sharon (the landlady) who took our food order when we were ready. I had the “Texan Burger” and my wife the gammon (if you want to know what aTexan Burger is you will have to go along to the Wyndham to find out). Our food was cooked and served well in a friendly and welcoming pub. We have known this pub for 6 years and it has changed hands several times but Sharon, Roxy and Chevy seem to have it thriving once again. The Wyndham caters for locals and visitors alike offering several real ales alongside a good selection of ciders and lagers etc. It serves traditional pub food and like most country pubs it is dog friendly.

I Ditto everything the other bad reviews are and more. The service and atmosphere and cleanliness were terrible. The owners dogs were overbearing, and uncontrolled. They tried and in my case succeeded in putting their noses on my food before being shouted at to come...

Fantastic friendly staff, family run, we have been made so welcome by both locals and staff. The food is cooked to order and is locally supplied meats and we have tried most things on the menu. The steaks are cooked to perfection, the fish ( or shark as we call it because of its size) is lovely. we have not had a single meal that we have been disappointed in to the extent the family who runs it goes out of their way to please. we asked for a surf and turf which isn't on the menu and they have done it ever since for us. warning the mixed grill isn't for the faint hearted and all portion sizes are more than adequate,the cheese board is amazing. The locals have made us feel so welcome that we almost feel local ourselves. This is a community pub set in a beautiful village with a heart and lots of love and dedication A+.

Nice little pub. Dog friendly and child friendly. We ordered half a chicken with chips and got half a sparrow which was over priced to be honest or maybe its because we're northerners and not used to paying so much for so little.

Just don't bother! Unfriendly terrible service. The owners dogs ate the food off of our plates! We were refunfed the cost of one meal but no apology was made, and the land lady walked away whilst we were talking. The vegan sausages definitely weren't vegan...

Good prices with super service a hidden away gem in a fantastic village

Smelt musty looked grubby tables sticky..Ordered a vegan burger what a joke..It looked like an Icelands own brand...Tasted disgusting..Two big dogs wandering round which belonged to owner,friendly but a nuisance with my dog.. Terrible experience don't waste your time or money.

Under previous ownership this pub was a bit, meh and never very busy. Since Sharon, Chevvy & Roxy arrived they have turned it around. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun. They have a great selection of beers and ciders, there's reasonably priced pub grub, it's much busier, we have live music, I could go on. Oh and they are lovely. They've breathed life back in to our local pub and we love it.

Lovley roast dinner here and the staff are friendly and accommodating. Been a few times and always had a great experience. Love the garden.

We went here on a lunch date and as soon as we walked in we were made to feel very welcomed by the lady behind the bar. We chose where to sit, my other half had an Otter bitter and I had an orange juice...

New owners are obviously working hard, but at the moment it is obvious there is plenty to do. Beer was good, food was good, staff were friendly, but the restaurant was cold, untidy with a broken TV on display, laundry lying around, work/decorating stuff lying around. We will go back but it'll be a while. Hopefully a better review to come.

My partner and I went for a date night this evening up the Wyndham and we weren't disappointed. The food was amazing, such a good atmosphere and the staff were so attentive and friendly, would highly recommend.
